    I'm about to write a Wrapper for a COM interop IStream so that code that expects a standard .NET Stream can use it. However it occurs to me that this sort of thing may already have been done before (although I haven't been able to find it myself with web searching). So I'm just putting this out here in case I'm about to re-invent the wheel. Note I've come across code implementing IStream wrapping a .NET stream but I need the reverse.

  • Compact Framework targeting

    If a smart device project is set to target CF 2.0, Windows CE 5.0, should this same application run on Windows Mobile 6 with CF 3.5 installed? I was able to install it (the CF 2 app), but when running received an error stating that the assemblies could not be loaded and that CF might not be installed. This has led me to belive that smart device projects wil ONLY work on the framework they target, not any versions lower or greater. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have a serializable POCO called DataUnification.ClientData.ClientInfo in a .NET class library project A. It's used in a parameter for a web service defined in project B: public XmlDocument CreateNewClient(ClientInfo ci, string system) I now wish to call this web method from project C and use the original DataUnification.ClientData.ClientInfo type in the parameter. However due to the generated proxy class it has now become a different type: WebServices.ClientDataUnification.DataUnificationWebService.ClientInfo. As far as .NET is concerned these are not the same types. How can I get around this?

    Hi all, I am trying to start windows mobile device center on windows 7 machine. But it only shows me the small green window that is shown at loading time and then it is closed automatically. I am not getting what the problem is. I tried to uninstall the previous update then re-installed again but the problem is not gone. Guys please help me out.     I'm trying to get the same result of a .NET application (see the link Hide TabControl buttons to manage stacked Panel controls for details), but using the MONO runtime instead of the MS .NET runtime. Pratically, when the custom control is executed using the MONO runtime, the underlying message is not sent to the control, causing the tab pages to be shown... There is a portable solution which is elegant as the linked one? If it is not possible, what are possible workarounds (apart from removing/adding tabs at runtime)?

    I have a list of color values encoded as signed integers in a legacy INI file that I need to translate into (A)RGB values with .NET. An INI example: [INI_Section] Color=-2147483633 Doing something like: Color.FromArgb(-2147483633) gives an alpha-blended version of a color that is not at all what I expect. Is there a .NET method for translating these legacy colors properly? Note that pInvoke to OlePro32.dll is not an option.

    I've a custom Action on Deployment project of .NET Applicaiton, which contains custom dialogbox to enter certain parameters, on invalid parameters I've shown MessageBox.Show - but its being hide by installer window, I tried windows forms too with Activate, TopMost, Focus,bring2front, etc serveral options but it comes by default behind the windows installer window and due to this user is not able to identify why installing process is not finishing - because actually its waiting for user to read the MessageBox and press OK. I've tried to implement IWin32Window with the handler of MsiExec Process, and shown the Messagebox but still its not working, anyone has idea ???     I am building a small web app for a pharmacy to keep track of sales and stocks, so in short, in one page, the pharmacist will enter a bar-code and the item is displayed, pharmacist enters quantity (price will be automatically calculated) then next item and next and so on, I haven't worked with such a problem before so I would appreciate any advices/tips on how to do it, what to use and wither its already done in some tidy neat way I can just import into my page.
