I'm developing a social network using Microsoft Technologies. I want to make a Wall similar to the one in Facebbok. What is the best way to do it and display comments ? Repeaters ?
I have one service that will create a text file to local machine and then need to copy the same file to another server .
I am using " File.Copy(SourceFilePath, TargetFilePath, true);"
and getting an exception at the target file path "access denied. I am able to copy the files manually to that location ( TargetFilePath) .
any idea , what is going wrong ??
I don't have any network drive mapping with this target location.
Thanks in Advance
i have a macro that goes through a directory and looks at all the files
unfortunately it's on a mapped network drive and its really slow
how do i stop the macro?
Did not have luck with these examples:
Javascript File remove
Javascript FSO DeleteFile Method
Deleting a File
There are no special permissions on the file.
Is there a way to do this in JQuery?
The requirement is - a certain file must be deleted from the web directory when another page is loaded. There is no security issue as this is on a closed network.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
java-me uses the internet connection of the mobile device to implement network api's.
are there any special features in the implementation of tcp/ip protocol stack for mobile devices or the implementation is essentially the same with a little different parameters like buffer space etc.
lets take symbian for example.
I was wondering how such performance can be achieved on windows as I noticed snowberd is even faster than DOS "dir" command, even in mapped network drives...?
Any idea what algo/technology are used to get such fast directory browsing...?
Is there a way to enable Remote Desktop on a machine, remotely from another machine in the same network(with admin privileges on both machines of course).
I have to encrypt XML file and send in network to place in a private server.
My other application will decrypt and import to SQL the file by giving the actual Public key.
Could you please suggest me best way for this.
File: XML Type
Possible size: Up to 250 MB
Technology: C#.NET 2008
Is there any code or library out there that can help me scale down an image? If you take a picture with the iPhone, it is something like 2000x1000 pixels which is not very network friendly. I want to scale it down to say 480x320. Any hints?
It has to be self contained, some sort of Erlang runtime library, and the BEAM files. This is so that anyone can run the program with one click, by running a .exe off a network drive, without having to install Erlang or anything else.
I want to do something which will access network when a QMainWindow is ready.
I suppose I should not do it in the constructor, so I try to find a signal the widget will get and try to implement something like a OnReady() call back in other UI library. But I still can not find a way to do this.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi!!
I want to know if somehow one intruder got to know about i.p. address of my system. Then what can be information he can obtain from my system or about my network. what type of harm he can give/sent to my system remotely.
thanks
Niks!
I have an iPhone application and I am porting it over to Android.
I have a service/controller that spawns new threads to perform some network tasks.
I use performSelectorOnMainThread in my iPhone app. How can I have my Java app do the same or similar thing?
I'm trying to match rc-update -s output in python.
m = re.match(r"^\s*(\w+)\s*\|{\s*(\w+)\s*}*$", " network | level1 level2 leveln ")
but m is always None
the hard part for me is getting the regex to match the n levels. I thought that using {}* would match the n levels, but as soon as I add the {} nothing matches.
thanks.
I'm coming to C++ from a .Net background. Knowing how to use the Standard C++ Libraries, and all the syntax, I've never ventured further. Now I'm looking learning a bit more, such as what libraries are commonly used? I want to start getting into Threading but have no idea to start. Is there a library (similar to how .net has System.Threading) out there that will make it a bit easier? I'm specifically looking to do Linux based network programming.
At one point in my app, I would like to redirect the user to the official Settings app. If possible, I also want go straight to the Location service section within the Settings app.
i see
Call the official *Settings* app from my app on iPhone
but
In iPhone4 the following code does not respond(my ios version 5.1.1):
[[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"prefs:root=LOCATION_SERVICES"]];//1 call Location service
[[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"prefs:root=WIFI"]];//2 //call wifi
[[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"prefs:root=General&path=Network"]];//3
My father died recently and I've inherited his Mac. I'd love to put it to use in my own life, but I don't want to wipe its brains out just so I can reconfigure it to use in my network, etc. His old files are historically important to me—I trust you can understand my desire to keep them.
I can log in as I had an account on the machine before he passed, but that's about it.
In Blackberry device if we go to
Options --- Date/Time ----Use Network Time -- No
Now when we select date or time a very stylish selector opens up that
enables user to set date and time.
Can i use such control in my app.
I saw such in Storm 9530
Any idea please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello, sorry for answer but how to enable TCP in SQL server 2005 express edition? I used configuration manager, find network configuration/protocols and there enabled TCP, after that I have restarted sql server service and tried installation of problematic software again (software which told me that TCP is not enabled) but I have the same problem :-(
I know from reading this:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1230457/is-there-a-size-limit-for-ota-android-market-downloads/1232145#1232145
That there wasn't a limit to the size of an application that could be downloaded over the air (OTA) but I wonder if a limit, like that imposed by the Apple App Store (20MB) exists now that the Nexus one is running on AT&T's 3G network as of today.
Thanks in advance for your help/

Should I pick up IRC or go another route? What I need are public chat and private instant messaging on my social network. (I plan to rent VPS for the matter.)
Assume a Cassandra cluster with hosts A and B. This cluster shall now be extended with another host C. Assume that Cis on a firewalled network were all packets are dropped by default.
Which ports and protocols must be opened up between C <> A and C <> B for the new node C to function properly?
How are files downloaded from servers in programming languages like C? I understand higher level languages have magic functions like "download_file_from_url()" but they don't help me understand what is actually going on. I'm a little familiar with sockets but network programming in general is still a black box to me. Thanks for any help.

Hello, I have implemented a routing protocol on an Android 1.6 mobile that uses wireless (ad-hoc) network in order to exchange messages. Now I would like to evaluate it under an energy consumption point of view, the base would be to try to calculate the energy wasted to transmit a single packet, do anybody has any idea how to do that? Software/hardware solutions are welcome! Thanx :)
