  • ASP.NET 'Check all checkboxes' control

    - by RUiHAO
    I am using visual studio 2005 c#, and doing server side coding. I have a list of checkboxes in my gridview via checkbox template. I have tried to assign a checkbox in my header template, and assigned a checkbox_checkchange method to make it such that when the checkbox at the header is checked, the list of checkboxes in the template will be checked as well. However, it does not work and I am not able to spot the mistake. Below is my code for my checkbox in header template: protected void CheckAllCB_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { CheckBox chk = (CheckBox)GridView1.HeaderRow.FindControl("CheckAll"); if (chk.Checked) { for (int i = 0; i < GridView1.Rows.Count; i++) { CheckBox chkrow = (CheckBox)GridView1.Rows[i].FindControl("UserSelector"); chkrow.Checked = true; } } else { for (int i = 0; i < GridView1.Rows.Count; i++) { CheckBox chkrow = (CheckBox)GridView1.Rows[i].FindControl("UserSelector"); chkrow.Checked = false; } } } Thus I tried using a button to assign the checkall command instead. However, when I clicked on the button, the page does nothing but just refreshes itself. Below is my code for the checkall and uncheckall button: private void ToggleCheckState(bool checkState) { // Iterate through the Products.Rows property foreach (GridViewRow row in GridView1.Rows) { // Access the CheckBox CheckBox cb = (CheckBox)row.FindControl("UserSelector"); if (cb != null) cb.Checked = checkState; } } protected void CheckAll_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { ToggleCheckState(true); } protected void UncheckAll_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { ToggleCheckState(false); } Anyone can help me identify the mistake I did in my method? Thank you UserSelection GridView template:

  • .Net forms - intercepting the Close X event.

    - by Hamish Grubijan
    Hi, this must be a dumb question, but I cannot figure it out. I also cannot use the designer because coders before me managed to throw GUI and logic all in one, so now it is confused. I've got to do it the old school way. I have a Form which can be closed in 3 ways: Close button, File / Close menu, and the X icon. I want them all to do the same thing. Intercepting the button and the menu events is easy. In fact, both are hooked up to an onCloseConfig method. Btw, is there a better name for this method? private void onCloseConfig(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { if (! m_configControl.Modified) { Application.Exit(); // Or should it be this.Close(); } .... // Else present a dialog, ask if they want to save. } So, to intercept the X I tried: this.FormClosing +=new FormClosingEventHandler(this.onCloseConfig); I believe this is what causes an infinite loop. I do not want that :) FormClosed is another option, but it seems too late. I just want to intercept the fact that the X was clicked, not the fact that the form is closing. Please help. Thanks!

  • Car Class (first time with classes)

    - by user2967605
    For an assignment I needed to use a class named car and have it display the make and model, and also have the speed increase by 5 when you use accelerate and decrease by 5 when you brake. My teacher helped me along the way but when I got to the end I couldn't get it to run. Could someone correct me and tell my why it's wrong? Imp--------- #include <iostream> #include <string> using namespace std; void accelerate() { int speed; speed = speed + 5; } void brake() { int speed; speed = speed - 5; } Header #include <iostream> #include <string> using namespace std; class car { public: car(int getYear, string getMake); void accelerate(); void brake(); private: int year; string make; int speed; }; CarClass.cpp #include <string> #include "CarClass.h" using namespace std; int main() { car.(2013,"Kia") car.accelerate() car.brake() }

  • Casting error in my form

    - by Siva
    I have a ComboBox in a DataGridView. However I get an error when I run it: Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.DataGridView' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.ComboBox'. What can I do to resolve this error? ComboBox comboBox; private void dataGridView1_EditingControlShowing(object sender, DataGridViewEditingControlShowingEventArgs e) { if (e.Control is ComboBox) { comboBox = e.Control as ComboBox; if (dataGridView1.CurrentCell.ColumnIndex >= 0) { System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("Edit Control Showing"); comboBox.SelectedIndexChanged -= new EventHandler(comboBoxItems_SelectedIndexChanged); comboBox.SelectedIndexChanged += new EventHandler(comboBoxItems_SelectedIndexChanged); } } } void comboBoxItems_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { int comboBoxSelectedIndex = ((ComboBox)sender).SelectedIndex; string comboboxSelectedValue = ((ComboBox)sender).SelectedText; int gridViewSelectedRow = dataGridView1.CurrentRow.Index; if (comboBoxSelectedIndex >= 0 && gridViewSelectedRow >= 0) { System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("ComboBox Index - " + comboBoxSelectedIndex); System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("GridView Index - " + gridViewSelectedRow); if (comboBox != null) { comboBox.SelectedIndexChanged -= new EventHandler(comboBoxItems_SelectedIndexChanged); } } } catch(Exception E) { } }

  • Why is my SAX handler returning an object with no values? I am setting it just fine

    - by Blankman
    I'm writing a SAX parser for an xml, and the object it returns doesn't have the values that I am setting in the events. My classes structure is like this: public class ProductSAXHandler extends DefaultHandler { private Product product; public ProductSAXHandler() { product = new Product(); } public Product ParseXmlFile(String xml) { SAXParserFactory spf = new ... XMLReader parser = .... parser.parse(xml); return product; } public void StartElement(....) { for(int ...) { // looping through attributes if(qName == "description" && name == "sku") { product.setSKU(value); } } } } When I am in debug mode, the value of product does get set, and I can see that the product's sku field has the correct value. But for some reason the product object returned is just a new Product object with no values set during the parsing. What am I doing wrong here? It must be me not understanding how these events are fired etc.

  • How do I trust a self signed cert using https?

    - by dave
    Edit: I originally thought the server's certificate was self signed. Turns out it was signed by a self-signed CA certificate. I'm trying to write a Node.js application that accesses an HTTPS site that's protected using a self-signed certificate certificate signed by a private, self-signed CA certificate. I'd also like to not completely disable certificate checking. I tried putting the self signed certificate server's certificate in the request options, but that doesn't seem to be working. Anyone know how to do this? I expect the following code to print statusCode 200, but instead it prints [Error: SELF_SIGNED_CERT_IN_CHAIN]. I've tried similar code with request with the same results. var https = require('https'); var fs = require('fs'); var opts = { hostname: host, port: 443, path: '/', method: 'GET', ca: fs.readFileSync(serverCertificateFile, 'utf-8') }; var req = https.request(opts, function (res) { console.log('statusCode', res.statusCode); }); req.end(); req.on('error', function (err) { console.error(err); });

  • Need help with java map and javabean

    - by techoverflow
    Hi folks, I have a nested map: Map<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>> areaPrices = new HashMap<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>>(); and this map is populated using the code: while(oResult.next()) { Integer areaCode = new Integer(oResult.getString("AREA_CODE")); Map<Integer, Double> zonePrices = areaPrices.get(areaCode); if(zonePrices==null) { zonePrices = new HashMap<Integer, Double>(); areaPrices.put(areaCode, zonePrices); } Integer zoneCode = new Integer(oResult.getString("ZONE_CODE")); Double value = new Double(oResult.getString("ZONE_VALUE")); zonePrices.put(zoneCode, value); myBean.setZoneValues(areaPrices); } I want to use the value of this Map in another method of the same class. For that I have a bean. How do I populate it on the bean, so that I can get the ZONE_VALUE in this other method In my bean I added one new field as: private Map<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>> zoneValues; with getter and setter as: public Map<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>> getZoneValues() { return zoneValues; } public void setZoneValues(Map<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>> areaPrices) { this.zoneValues = areaPrices; } What I am looking for to do in the other method is something like this: Double value = myBean.get(areaCode).get(zoneCode); How do I make it happen :(

  • Use combobox value as query value (VC# 2k8 / ADO SQLITE)

    - by nicodevil
    Hi, I'm a newbie in VC# and ADO SQLITE... I'm trying to change the content of a combobox according to the value present in another one... My problem is here : SQLiteCommand cmd3 = new SQLiteCommand("select distinct(ACTION) from ACTION_LIST where CATEGORY='comboBox1.text'", conn2); What to use to do the job ? Here 'comboBox1.text' is see as a sentence not a variable... Here is the code : private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { using (SQLiteConnection conn1 = new SQLiteConnection(@"Data Source = Data\MRIS_DB_MASTER")) { conn1.Open(); SQLiteCommand cmd2 = new SQLiteCommand("select distinct(CATEGORY) from ACTION_LIST", conn1); SQLiteDataAdapter adapter1 = new SQLiteDataAdapter(cmd2); DataTable tbl1 = new DataTable(); adapter1.Fill(tbl1); comboBox1.DataSource = tbl1; comboBox1.DisplayMember = "CATEGORY"; adapter1.Dispose(); cmd2.Dispose(); } using (SQLiteConnection conn2 = new SQLiteConnection(@"Data Source = Data\MRIS_DB_MASTER")) { conn2.Open(); SQLiteCommand cmd3 = new SQLiteCommand("select distinct(ACTION) from ACTION_LIST where CATEGORY='comboBox1.text'", conn2); SQLiteDataAdapter adapter2 = new SQLiteDataAdapter(cmd3); DataTable tbl2 = new DataTable(); adapter2.Fill(tbl2); comboBox2.DataSource = tbl2; comboBox2.DisplayMember = "ACTION"; adapter2.Dispose(); cmd3.Dispose(); } } Thanks regards

  • Dynamic WebService implementation

    - by chardex
    I have a set of different interfaces and I need to give them access via web services. I have implemented this task in .NET as follows: dynamically generated interface implementation on the IL, marked methods with WebMethod annotation, and in *.asmx handler called generated stub. More needs to be able to change the method signatures (eg change the type of certain argument or add new arguments), ie not always explicitly implement an interface, and use it as a decorator pattern. Example: interface ISomeService { void simpleMetod (String arg1); void customMetod (CusomType arg1, Integer arg2); } // Need to dynamically generate such class @WebService class SomeWebService { private ISomeService someService = new SomeServiceImpl (); @WebMethod public void simpleMethod (String arg1) { someService.simpleMethod (arg1); } @WebMethod public void customMethod (String arg1, Integer arg2) { someService.customMethod (CusomType.fromString (arg1), arg2); } } Interfaces such as ISomeService quite a lot. And manually write code like this I don't want. I work with Java recently, what technology/libraries should be used to solve such task. Thanks.

  • When my object is no longer referenced why do its events continue to run?

    - by Ryan Peschel
    Say I am making a game and have a base Buff class. I may also have a subclass named ThornsBuff which subscribes to the Player class's Damaged event. The Player may have a list of Buffs and one of them may be the ThornsBuff. For example: Test Class Player player = new Player(); player.ActiveBuffs.Add(new ThornsBuff(player)); ThornsBuff Class public ThornsBuff(Player player) { player.DamageTaken += player_DamageTaken; } private void player_DamageTaken(MessagePlayerDamaged m) { m.Assailant.Stats.Health -= (int)(m.DamageAmount * .25); } This is all to illustrate an example. If I were to remove the buff from the list, the event is not detached. Even though the player no longer has the buff, the event is still executed as if he did. Now, I could have a Dispel method to unregister the event, but that forces the developer to call Dispel in addition to removing the Buff from the list. What if they forget, increased coupling, etc. What I don't understand is why the event doesn't detatch itself automatically when the Buff is removed from the list. The Buff only existed in the list and that is its one reference. After it is removed shouldn't the event be detached? I tried adding the detaching code to the finalizer of the Buff but that didn't fix it either. The event is still running even after it has 0 references. I suppose it is because the garbage collector had not run yet? Is there any way to make it automatic and instant so that when the object has no references all its events are unregisted? Thanks.

  • Variable Scoping in a method and its persistence in C++

    - by de costo
    Consider the following public method that adds an integer variable to a vector of ints(private member) in a class in C++. KoolMethod() { int x; x = 10; KoolList.Add(x); } Vector<int>KoolList; But is this a valid addition to a vector ??? Upon calling the method, it creates a local variable. The scope of this local variable ends the moment the execution control leaves the method. And since this local variable is allocated on a stack(on the method call), any member of KoolList points to an invalid memory location in deallocated stack which may or may not contain the expected value of x. Is this an accurate description of above mechanism ?? Is there a need for creating an int in heap storage using "new" operator everytime a value needs to be added to the vector like described below ????: KoolMethod() { int *x = new int(); *x = 10; KoolList.Add(x); } Vector<int*>KoolList;

  • Some questions about focus on WPF

    - by ThitoO
    Hello, I've a little problem about focus on WPF. I whant to create a window, always on top, and that never get the focus (even if we click on it). Here's my solution : public partial class SkinWindow : Window { public SkinWindow() { InitializeComponent(); Loaded += ( object sender, RoutedEventArgs e ) => SetNoActiveWindow(); } private void SetNoActiveWindow() { WindowInteropHelper helper = new WindowInteropHelper( this ); SetWindowLong( helper.Handle, GWL_EXSTYLE, WS_EX_NOACTIVATE ); LockSetForegroundWindow( LSFW_LOCK ); } const int GWL_EXSTYLE = -20; const int WS_EX_NOACTIVATE = 134217728; const int LSFW_LOCK = 1; [DllImport( "user32" )] public static extern bool LockSetForegroundWindow( uint UINT ); [DllImport( "user32" )] public static extern IntPtr SetWindowLong( IntPtr hWnd, int nIndex, int dwNewLong ); } First problem : It's works, but I've to select an other window to "remove" the focus of my application (after the focus is not gave again, even if I click on my window). Second problem : When I move or resize the window, the modifications happens when I drop the window. Do you have any ideas / links / docs ? Thank you :)

  • Nullable values in C++

    - by DanDan
    I'm creating a database access layer in native C++, and I'm looking at ways to support NULL values. Here is what I have so far: class CNullValue { public: static CNullValue Null() { static CNullValue nv; return nv; } }; template<class T> class CNullableT { public: CNullableT(CNullValue &v) : m_Value(T()), m_IsNull(true) { } CNullableT(T value) : m_Value(value), m_IsNull(false) { } bool IsNull() { return m_IsNull; } T GetValue() { return m_Value; } private: T m_Value; bool m_IsNull; }; This is how I'll have to define functions: void StoredProc(int i, CNullableT<int> j) { ...connect to database ...if j.IsNull pass null to database etc } And I call it like this: sp.StoredProc(1, 2); or sp.StoredProc(3, CNullValue::Null()); I was just wondering if there was a better way than this. In particular I don't like the singleton-like object of CNullValue with the statics. I'd prefer to just do sp.StoredProc(3, CNullValue); or something similar. How do others solve this problem?

  • Hiding instantiated templates in shared library created with g++

    - by jchl
    I have a file that contains the following: #include <map> class A {}; void doSomething() { std::map<int, A> m; } When compiled into a shared library with g++, the library contains dynamic symbols for all the methods of std::map<int, A>. Since A is private to this file, there is no possibility that std::map will be instantiated in any other shared library with the same parameters, so I'd like to make the template instantiation hidden (for some of the reasons described in this document). I thought I should be able to do this by adding an explicit instantiation of the template class and marking it as hidden, like so: #include <map> class A {}; template class __attribute__((visibility ("hidden"))) std::map<int, A>; void doSomething() { std::map<int, A> m; } However, this has no effect: the symbols are still all exported. I even tried compiling with -fvisibility=hidden, but this also has no effect on the visibility of the methods of std::map<int, A> (although it does hide doSomething). The document I linked to above describes the use of export maps to restrict visibility, but that seems very tedious. Is there a way to do what I want in g++ (other than using export maps)? If so, what is it? If not, is there a good reason why these symbols must always be exported, or is this just a omission in g++?

  • new project app; use entirely node.js

    - by Jared
    I have been looking into Node.js, express and Nowjs and love how easy it is to have real time interactions between clients. My background is mostly from CodeIgniter MVC using PHP and MYSql. I want to re make a current web project of mine from scratch to make everything better and more real time with this newer technology. After researching and doing test examples I want to use node.js , express and Nowjs for the real time interactions once someone connects to the socket.io to pull data back to clients. But use Code Igniter for the control of the site and user management , possible shopping cart/store , pretty much everything else. This is purely due to time constraints and that I am already familiar with doing it that way. I have been looking at MongoDB as an alternative to MySql, Basically the app is going to be multiple chat rooms all on one page. with the ability of notifications and private messaging. Lots of data transfer and images. before I started piecing it together I wanted to get people who have already done something similar. My model would use Code Igniter and MySQL to render the page and then connect them onto a node.js server and broadcast using express and nowjs would using a mongoDB be better than mySQL for tons of messages and data being stored or MYSQL? Also does it make since to not make the whole site on Node.js , kinda piece it together like that?

  • error: 'void Base::output()' is protected within this context

    - by Bill
    I'm confused about the errors generated by the following code. In Derived::doStuff, I can access Base::output directly by calling it. Why can't I create a pointer to output() in the same context that I can call output()? (I thought protected / private governed whether you could use a name in a specific context, but apparently that is incomplete?) Is my fix of writing callback(this, &Derived::output); instead of callback(this, Base::output) the correct solution? #include <iostream> using std::cout; using std::endl; template <typename T, typename U> void callback(T obj, U func) { ((obj)->*(func))(); } class Base { protected: void output() { cout << "Base::output" << endl; } }; class Derived : public Base { public: void doStuff() { // call it directly: output(); Base::output(); // create a pointer to it: // void (Base::*basePointer)() = &Base::output; // error: 'void Base::output()' is protected within this context void (Derived::*derivedPointer)() = &Derived::output; // call a function passing the pointer: // callback(this, &Base::output); // error: 'void Base::output()' is protected within this context callback(this, &Derived::output); } }; int main() { Derived d; d.doStuff(); }

  • Create rails record from two ids

    - by Michael Luby
    The functionality I'm trying to build allows Users to Visit a Restaurant. I have Users, Locations, and Restaurants models. Locations have many Restaurants. I've created a Visits model with user_id and restaurant_id attributes, and a visits_controller with create and destroy methods. Thing is, I can't create an actual Visit record. Any thoughts on how I can accomplish this? Or am I going about it the wrong way. Here's the code: Model: class Visit < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :restaurant_id, :user_id belongs_to :user belongs_to :restaurant end View: <% @restaurants.each do |restaurant| %> <%= link_to 'Visit', location_restaurant_visits_path(current_user.id, restaurant.id), method: :create %> <% @visit = Visit.find_by_user_id_and_restaurant_id(current_user.id, restaurant.id) %> <%= @visit != nil ? "true" : "false" %> <% end %> Controller: class VisitsController < ApplicationController before_filter :find_restaurant before_filter :find_user def create @visit = Visit.create(params[:user_id => @user.id, :restaurant_id => @restaurant.id]) respond_to do |format| if @visit.save format.html { redirect_to location_restaurants_path(@location), notice: 'Visit created.' } format.json { render json: @visit, status: :created, location: @visit } else format.html { render action: "new" } format.json { render json: @visit.errors, status: :unprocessable_entity } end end end def destroy @visit = Visit.find(params[:user_id => @user.id, :restaurant_id => @restaurant.id]) @restaurant.destroy respond_to do |format| format.html { redirect_to location_restaurants_path(@restaurant.location_id), notice: 'Unvisited.' } format.json { head :no_content } end end private def find_restaurant @restaurant = Restaurant.find(params[:restaurant_id]) end def find_user @user = current_user end end

  • deleting an array that stores pointers to some objects

    - by memC
    hi, I am storing pointers to elements of a vec_A in an array A* a_ptrs[3] . Assume that vec_A will not be resized. So, a_ptrs[i] will point to the correct element. My question is: Suppose A* a_ptrs[3] is declared in a class B. Since it is not created using 'new' I am guessing I don't need to delete it in the destructor. Am I right?? class A { public: int getNumber(); A(int val); ~A(){}; private: int num; }; A::A(int val){ num = val; }; int A::getNumber(){ return num; }; int main(){ int i =0; int num; std::vector<A> vec_A; for ( i = 0; i < 10; i++){ vec_A.push_back(A(i)); } A* a_ptrs[3]; a_ptrs[0] = &vec_A[0]; a_ptrs[1] = &vec_A[3]; a_ptrs[2] = &vec_A[5]; for (i = 0; i<3; i++){ std::cout<<"\n: a_ptrs[i].getNumber() = "<<a_ptrs[i]->getNumber(); } std::cout << "\nPress RETURN to continue..."; std::cin.get(); return 0; }

  • How duplicate an object in a list and update property of duplicated objects ?

    - by user359706
    Hello What would be the best way to duplicate an object placed in a list of items and change a property of duplicated objects ? I thought proceed in the following manner: - get object in the list by "ref" + "article" - Cloned the found object as many times as desired (n times) - Remove the object found - Add the clones in the list What do you think? A concrete example: Private List<Product> listProduct; listProduct= new List<Product>(); Product objProduit_1 = new Produit; objProduct_1.ref = "001"; objProduct_1.article = "G900"; objProduct_1.quantity = 30; listProducts.Add(objProduct_1); ProductobjProduit_2 = new Product; objProduct_2.ref = "002"; objProduct_2.article = "G900"; objProduct_2.quantity = 35; listProduits.Add(objProduct_2); desired method: public void updateProductsList(List<Product> paramListProducts,Produit objProductToUpdate, int32 nbrDuplication, int32 newQuantity){ ... } Calling method example: updateProductsList(listProducts,objProduct_1,2,15); Waiting result: Replace follow object : ref = "001"; article = "G900"; quantite = 30; By: ref = "001"; article = "G900"; quantite = 15; ref = "001"; article = "G900"; quantite = 15; The Algorithm is correct? Would you have an idea of the method implementation "updateProductsList" Thank you in advance for your help.

It should create a new city based on the object which the method is applied to: public City newCity(string newCityName, int dX, int dY) { City c=new City(this); //based on a constructor : City(City c){} c.CityName=newCityName; c.NoOfNeighborhoods=1; c.NumOfResidents=0; c.CityCenter.Move(dX,dY); return c; } CityCenter is of type "Point" which has two fields - x,y. the Move method in Point class is ment to change the CityCenter location. It looks like this: public void Move(int dX, int dY) { this.X = x + dX; this.Y = y + dY; } What happens is that the new object,c and the existing City object are both changed. I think that "this" modifier works on the existing object too... How can I take advantage of the Move method without causing this behavior? Note: this is a closed API, so I can only add private methods to the project.

  • Null pointer to struct which has zero size (empty)... It is a good practice?

    - by ProgramWriter
    Hi2All.. I have some null struct, for example: struct null_type { NullType& someNonVirtualMethod() { return *this; } }; And in some function i need to pass reference to this type. Reason: template <typename T1 = null_type, typename T2 = null_type, ... > class LooksLikeATupleButItsNotATuple { public: LooksLikeATupleButItsNotATuple(T1& ref1 = defParamHere, T2& ref2 = andHere..) : _ref1(ref1), _ref2(ref2), ... { } void someCompositeFunctionHere() { _ref1.someNonVirtualMethod(); _ref2.someNonVirtualMethod(); ... } private: T1& _ref1; T2& _ref2; ...; }; It is a good practice to use null reference as a default parameter?: *static_cast<NullType*>(0) It works on MSVC, but i have some doubts...
