  • iPhone video screen capture for the 3GS

    - by teabot
With the advent of the iPhone 3GS' video capability - does anyone know if Apple bundled the ability to capture the device screen as a video? Note: I know this question has already been asked regarding previous handset versions but I am specifically asking about the 3GS where this functionality seems more plausible. Update: until I hear otherwise I am going to have to accept that this is not possible.

  • Copying a field to another table in Access

    - by Jacques Tardie
I'm a bit embarassed asking this here, but here goes: I've got two tables, which you can see here: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/4562/query.jpg I need to copy the effortid from the one table into the other, making sure that the values still maintain the correction relationships. The primary key for each is a combination of loggerid & datetime. What's the best way to do this? Thanks in advance, and don't make fun :)

  • Are you a self taught programmer or did you take a programming course?

    - by workinprogress
Lots of developers I know were self taught programmers including me. I was wondering how much of the developer community learned programming by taking a course in school or by experimenting, asking questions on forums, reading online articles, and just making it up as you go along? Post whether you were self taught or took classes, what language you program in, and anything else that may be interesting. P.S. Books count as self taught.

  • Cocoa for the non-techinical

    - by annoyed
How would you describe and explain Cocoa in non-technical terms, with lots of analogies to common, everyday things. For example, imagine you are describing it to a 5-year-old who keeps asking why? at the end if each explanation. This would invariable delve into the theory of OO so it could get lengthy, but the concept is important to the 'why' of Cocoa.

  • OpenGL ES 2.0 and glPushMatrix, glPopMatrix

    - by MrDatabase
Does OpenGL ES 2.0 still support glPushMatrix and glPopMatrix? I'm currently using these in the following way: glPushMatrix(); glTranslatef(xLoc, yLoc, 0); [myTexturePointer drawAtPoint:CGPointZero]; glPopMatrix(); I'm asking because I've read a few things about 2.0 "removing the matrix stack from the spec". Since I'm relatively new to OpenGL I'm not sure where to find a definitive answer.

  • Peer Presure Badge [closed]

    - by Lizard
I have just been going through the bandges you can get and noticed the peer pressure badge, I can't image ever asking a serious question that would get me 3 down votes. So I figured I would simply ask for the down votes myself... Please downvote this question, thanks. Blame the competitive side of me for wanting all the badges! Thanks

  • MATrix LABoratory interview questions?

    - by Shane
I programmed in MATrix LABoratory for many years, but switched to using R exclusively in the past few years so I'm a little out of practice. I'm interviewing a candidate today who describes himself as an expert? What interview questions that I should be asking?

  • Python large variable RAM useage

    - by PPTim
Hi, Say there is a dict variable that grows very large during runtime- up into millions of key:value pairs. Does this variable get stored in RAM,effectively using up all the available memory and slowing down the rest of the system? Asking the interpreter to display the entire dict is a bad idea, but would it be okay as long as one key is accessed at a time? Tim

  • Can I use @table variable in SQL Server Report Builder?

    - by edosoft
Using MS SQL 2008 Reporting services: I'm trying to write a report that displays some correlated data so I thought to use a @table variable like so DECLARE @Results TABLE (Number int, Name nvarchar(250), Total1 money, Total2 money) insert into @Results(Number, Name, Total1) select number, name, sum(total) from table1 group by number, name update @Results set total2 = total from (select number, sum(total) from table2) s where s.number = number select from @results However, Report Builder keeps asking to enter a value for the variable @Results. It this at all possible?

  • What is the best study guide for MCTS exam 70-562 ASP.NET 3.5 Application Development?

    - by jonsb
The official "MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-562): Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 ASP.NET Application Development" will not be released until mid-April. For the time being, what is the best book with which to prepare for the exam? I'm not asking which book is the best ASP.NET 3.5 book in general, just which is best with regard to the skills measured on the exam. The book should focus on C#, not VB.

  • Is it possible to tie a C++ output stream to another output stream?

    - by Emanuel
Is it possible to tie a C++ output stream to another output stream? I'm asking because I've written an ISAPI extension in C++ and I've written ostreams around the WriteClient and ServerSupportFunction/HSE_REQ_SEND_RESPONSE_HEADER_EX functions - one ostream for the HTTP headers and one for the body of the HTTP response. I'd like to tie the streams together so that all the HTTP headers are sent before the rest of the response is sent.

  • Error: Error #1502: A script has executed for longer than the default timeout period of 15 seconds.

    - by numerical25
I got this error and I am not sure what it's about. The last thing I remember doing is adding a clearInterval() method to clear some setTimeOut() intervals varibles. besides that I am not sure what it could be. Not asking for a solution. But if anyone know's any possibilities of what it could trigger that error, maybe that might help me to figure out where its coming from.

  • Which parts of Graphics Pipelines are done using CPU & GPU?

    - by afriza
Which parts of pipelines are done using CPU and which are done using GPU? Reading Wikipedia on Graphics Pipeline, maybe my question does not precisely represent what I am asking. Referring to this question, which "steps" are done in CPU and which are done in GPU? Edit: My question is more into which parts of logical high level steps needed to display terrain+3D models are using CPU/GPU instead of which functions.

  • Learning Excel with a book

    - by Teifion
I work at a company where all the TMs and assistant TMs use Excel for number management, we're not able to use anything else because the computers are locked down (for good reason though I'll be asking IT anyway). The company also has a buy-a-book scheme, can anybody recommend a good book for using Excel and Macros in it?

  • Is the WebAii test automation framework dead?

    - by RyanW
Is the WebAii framework still available and free? Am I just missing it? After putting it off for too long, I've finally started automated UI testing on my current project. I had WebAii from ArtOfTest on my list to look at, but it looks like it's been killed off by Telerik and now they're asking $1500 for their new WebUI test studio. I can't find anything definitive on Telerik's site, too much marketing. But, it seems to be pretty clear.
