  Hello everyone, i'm looking for a way in python to run an external binary and watch it's output for: "up to date" If "up to date" isn't returned i want to run the original command again, once "up to date" is displayed i would like to be able to run another script. So far I've figured out how to run the binary with options using subprocess but thats as far as I've gotten. Thanks!

  It seems to me that it is rendundant information as the usage of the class will make it apparent that it is an exception. Furthermore, in PHP, the class must extend the Exception class so it will be apparent that it is an exception when looking at the class on its own. Despite this, developers usually apply the suffix 'Exception'. Why is this?

  Is there a way to add custom fields to the built in browser context menu using Javascript? I know flash/actionscript can do this, how are they doing it? Example: right click on http://josephjewell.com and see the custom context menu. Is this possible with pure javascript or do you have to use flash? Note, I'm looking for adding to the built in browser context menu, not using custom javascript popups to mimic them.

  Hello, I am looking for some Linux library/programming language that can be used on a variety of Linux platforms and can operate in both textual and GUI mode interfaces. For example YCP (the Yast programming language) will display in GUI if in Gnome/KDE environment and run in text/ncurses mode when display is not available. The problem is that YCP is SUSE specific. • Rails 2.3.5 with rails_xss escaping content_for yielded content

  Just upgraded Rails to 2.3.5 to get the lovely looking rails_xss plugin but I've noticed one big issue with it. Any content_for blocks are escaped when yielded.   I'm looking for a jQuery lightbox plugin that has the ability to, with it's next and previous buttons, cycle through images repeatedly. Like a carousel effect. I've been using jQuery Lightbox Plugin (balupton edition) but that doesn't have the option to continue cycling through images. It reaches the last image in the array and then disables the 'next' button. So to save me some time coding, what are some plugins you can recommend?

  Looking at some code examples for HtmlHelpers, and I see declarations that look like: public static string HelperName(this HtmlHelper htmlHelper, ...more regular params ) I can't remember seeing this type of construct any where else - can someone explain the purpose of the "this"? I thought that by declaring something public static meant that the class did not need to be instantiated - so what is "this" in this case?

  Hi, I have just started looking at JqueryMobile and want to know if the following is possible? I want to be able to select a file (similar to in html) and then show some sort of dialogue that allows me to browse to a "folder" and select the file. It would then be up to me to send some sort of AJAX command to upload it to the server (where I am using Asp.net MVC 2) Since I do not have access to an iPhone or iPad, I was told that I would only have access to the documents folder.
