What communication is going on between Eclipse and my application server (JBoss) when I run the server from within Eclipse in debugging mode? How does this work?
I'm having trouble setting the command-line arguments in Eclipse.
I've searched around the Internet but can't find anything that helps people with invisible textboxes. I even tried pressing the help button and nothing came up.
How does one set the command-line arguments in Eclipse for a Java project?
Having a problem in Eclipse with regards to an XML file. Eclipse complains that android:scrollbars and android:fadingEdge do not allow Strings. I checked the Android developer site and they do in fact accept strings in the xml file. A related question posed had the problem where there was a missing :android after xmlns. As you can see from the code the line beginning with xmlns is correct I believe. Here is the complete file contents:
For eclipse 3.5 / 3.6 and JQuery 1.4.2, what are the best practices for a development IDE?
(jquerywtp seems unmaintained, and aptana seems an overkill)
Is eclipse not the right tool for JQuery dev?
Guys;
How are you doing today? I have to create a dll project on Eclipse Ganymede and I don´t know where to start... (I am a C# guy with VS).
Can you please indicate me what type of project should I create to make a dll on Eclipse Ganymede so I can call the DLL from other Java Project?
Thanks in advanced :D
I'm using the Eclipse DTP to do my SQL development. When I create a database connection I'm promoted to enter the name of the database (schema), and I cannot continue until I enter it. However, I have several databases on each server, and I want to see them all under the database connection (like most the database tools let you).
Can I do it in eclipse?
I am pretty new to eclipse. I notice that depending on the Perspective I am in, the new submenu lists different items in it. Is there a way to pick the items it lists (modifying the perspective) just using the eclipse interface? or am I needing to do a plugin of some sort to enable this.
I'm working on a new project with a full ANT build. I use eclipse to write my code, and I would like others to be able to check out the project to have a full working eclipse workspace. I do not want to have specific user settings committed though.
What files and directories should I have in source control?
(I'd rather not just go grab a plugin - I prefer more control over what goes in the repository)
I've got some EL code inside of a JSP tag. The line starts as follows:
<c:if test="${pageContext.request.serverName eq \'localhost\'}">
Eclipse throws up an error on this, saying:
Unable to analyze EL expression due to lexical analysis error
I'm unsure what this even means. Is this an eclipse bug? Am I mixing EL and the JSTL tags incorrectly?
I'm running in to an error when I try to run my server application from Eclipse. The error is java.net.BindException: Permission denied. I think this is because I am using port 443 to set up an SSL connection. I can get around this problem if I run my code on the command line using javac and sudo. Is there a way to set up Eclipse so that when I hit the run button, my application is executed with sudo?
I use eclipse with "external" projects - i.e. projects created from existing source.
Poking around in the workspace files, I cannot find any reference to these projects. My question is: how does eclipse keep track of these projects?
I'd like to be able to add such a project to the workspace automatically (by generating .project and .classpath files)..
I created a maven2 project in eclipse, and then I moved the folder to another location.
How can I open that project now in eclipse, I can't seem to find a 'open an exisiting maven' project or the like?
Opening the file pom.xml just opens the file, kinda stuck sorry.
I am using eclipse with the maven 2 plugin.
I want to add the dependency for sqljdbc4, how can I do that?
Can't seem to find it via the 'add dependency' option in eclipse?
Is there any plug-in that provides an integrated shell (i.e. command prompt) in Eclipse?
The console only seems to be for interaction with a running program.
I've found a reference to the plug-in Open extern but that opens an external command window, and I'd rather have it integrated with Eclipse.
I have several projects open in an Eclipse workspace. Like so:
com.harbl.project.one
com.harbl.project.two
com.harbl.project.three
I would like to export those as JARs in a batch such that I wind up with the following JAR files:
./com.harbl.project.one.jar
./com.harbl.project.two.jar
./com.harbl.project.three.jar
Is this possible with one of the Eclipse wizards or working sets? Is my only option to export each one individually?
I like to use Netbeans rather than Eclipse and am tempted to use the nbappengine plugin for App Engine support in Netbeans but I'm concerned that it is not an officially sanctioned product and therefore may not be as reliable as the Google Plugin for Eclipse. Could someone who has used it please comment on how robust you have found it to be?
Hi
Is there any plugins or built-in method in vim for performing refactoring on c or c++ code, something like the refactoring tools in eclipse?
I'm especially keen on the extract method refactoring tool from eclipse that will determine parameters from new method and typically also guess a variable to use as return value.
I did a git on the com.android.music app and then created a project in eclipse from existing code. I chose 2.1 as the sdk target but I am getting errors trying to compile.
Is the music app referencing code that is not part of the 2.1 sdk? Can someone list the steps for how to compile in eclipse?
Description Resource Path Location Type
ArrayListCursor cannot be resolved to a type PlaylistBrowserActivity.java Music/src/com/android/music line 529 Java Problem
MediaFile cannot be resolved AlbumBrowserActivity.java
I am using github to develop an eclipse plugin. I would like to have a public eclipse update site for my plugin and wondered if I can use github for this? I know that github can be used for hosting individual files by using the "raw" links provided on the file information pages.
I'm running programs from Eclipse (on Windows) that eat a lot of CPU time. To avoid bogging down my whole machine, I set the priority to Low with the Task Manager. However, this is a cumbersome manual process. Is there a way Eclipse can set this priority automatically?
EDIT: I realized that each particular launcher (Java, Python etc) has its own configuration method, so I will restrict this question to the Java domain, which is what I need most.
I do like the SQL editor now bundled with Eclipse but I can't seem to find a way for it to format my code like eclipse will with my java.
Did I miss something, or does anybody have any alternatives?
Thanks
====EDIT====
I'd also be happy if there was an alternate plug-in that someone could recommend.
I have multiple Java projects in Eclipse. I would like to reuse some classes in my new project from my old project. What is the best way to do that in Eclipse?
I.e. is it possible to add another "project folder" to the build-path for my new project?
I wrote my Java application in Eclipse. Now I would like to generate a .jar file which can be run on other systems from the command line. Is there a easy way to do it in Eclipse?
In particular I am wondering what should I do with the jar files of external library that I use (should it be included into my .jar file?).
Moreover, should I generate some manifest files?
Eclipse Vaadin plugin has cool autobuild feature. Just clicking "restart application" in debug console will bring up to date application version to live.
Unfortunately importing maven generated vaadin project(using m2e) and copy-pasting .project buildCommands and natures from vaadin eclipse plugin generated project does not works.
I'm unnable to "Run on server...", tomcat does not deploy app for unknown reason. I can see app in wtpapps folder but it still does not deploys.
I have two eclipse projects on an SVN repository that I feel should be merged into one.
The easiest way that I can think of doing this is to copy the contents of both projects into a new local project, commit it, and nuke the old ones.
Is there a better, SVN-ish way of doing things?
I'm using the Eclipse Subversive plugin, for what its worth
