  • Sort ArrayList of custom Objects by property

    - by Samuel
Hello World!! :D I had a question which is pretty easy if you know the answer I guess. I read about sorting ArrayLists using a Comparator but somehow in all of the examples people used compareTo which according to some research is a method working on Strings... I wanted to sort an ArrayList of custom objects by one of their properties: a Date object (getStartDay()). Normally I compare them by item1.getStartDate().before(item2.getStartDate()) so I was wondering whether I could write something like: public class customComparator { public boolean compare(Object object1, Object object2) { return object1.getStartDate().before(object2.getStartDate()); } } public class randomName { ... Collections.sort(Database.arrayList, new customComparator); ... } I just started with Java so please forgive my ignorance :) Thanks in advance!! -Samuel

    - by Brandon
I'm using the David Walsh PHP calendar script and need to format my date arguments like this: draw_calendar(7,2009); I want to get today's Month and Year as well as the next month and the month after that (so current month, plus one, plus one). How can I call the function three times in succession to generate these three calendars only knowing today's Month and Year? -Brandon

  • How to get the last element by date of each "type" in LINQ or TSQL

    - by Mauro
Imagine to have a table defined as CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Price]( [ID] [int] NOT NULL, [StartDate] [datetime] NOT NULL, [Price] [int] NOT NULL ) where ID is the identifier of an action having a certain Price. This price can be updated if necessary by adding a new line with the same ID, different Price, and a more recent date. So with a set of a data like ID StartDate Price 1 01/01/2009 10 1 01/01/2010 20 2 01/01/2009 10 2 01/01/2010 20 How to obtain a set like the following? 1 01/01/2010 20 2 01/01/2010 20

  • R adding infrequent date 'events' to a time series plot

    - by flyingcrab
Hi, I am just starting on R - and have hit a bit of a deadlock with some time series data. I have a time series (date and value) in 'zoo' format, that I want to annotate with a cross when an event occurs. The events are irregular and in a csv format (just the dates, sometimes repeated). I've managed to read in the dates etc into a format that R accepts - but i cant seem to get a means to chart the main time series with the secondary events annotated on top?

  • How to display a date as iso 8601 format with PHP

    - by Matthew James Taylor
I'm trying to display a datetime from my MySQL database as an iso 8601 formated string with PHP but it's coming out wrong. 17 Oct 2008 is coming out as: 1969-12-31T18:33:28-06:00 which is clearly not correct (the year should be 2008 not 1969) This is the code I'm using: <?= date("c", $post[3]) ?> $post[3] is the datetime (CURRENT_TIMESTAMP) from my MySQL database. Any ideas what's going wrong?
