• Other roles on Hyper-V Server

  Microsoft offers the standalone Hyper-V server for free. I'm wondering if I can install roles other than the Hyper-V role on this? I know installing other roles alongside Hyper-V is a bad practice, but what I'm trying to ask is if the Hyper-V Server edition of Windows Server allows installation of other roles, like DNS server, File Server etc. Infact I'm not interested in running Hyper-V, just looking for a free windows server to install some roles on. Now, when I try to install Windows 7 from my USB, my machine says Missing operating System And when I don't boot with USB, it says "bootmgr is missing" So now I am wondering, how I can install a boot loader, so I can install Windows 7?

• IIS 6 ip address mixup

  Ok, just wondering if others have experienced the following. We have two websites configured in IIS 6 pointing to two different static IPs for the past couple days website A's IP address began to resolving to website B's ip address. It seemed to happen all of a sudden. When we looked at IIS the IPs looked to be configured correctly but when we would ping the websites both would point to website B's IP. Any ideas?

• Is it a good idea to put "screen -r" in my .bashrc?

  I'd like to use screen to keep ssh sessions alive on my server. It would be nice if I could automatically resume any running session for my user when I log in. The straightforward way to do this would be adding "screen -r" to my .bashrc, and this seems to work fine. I'm just wondering if this will break anything under conditions which I haven't tested yet. Anyone with experience here who can tell me whether this is what I should do?

• High resolution on small screen

  I just purchased a new ultrabook (Asus UX32VD). Awesome laptop, but I am having trouble using it with its native resolution being 1920 x 1080. Text is so small and hard to read. I have increased the text size in the display options but it don't really improve it for all scenarios, especially in webpages. I am wondering if there is a possible solution to this? Simply lowering the resolution makes everything look pixelated.
