  • Apache mod_rewrite - remove extension/add trailing slash/preserve directory structure

    - by Henry Wrinkler
I am currently using the following .htaccess file to remove the .php extension from my files and add a trailing slash to all URLs: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}\.php -f RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/$ $1.php # Forces a trailing slash to be added RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(\.[a-zA-Z0-9]{1,5}|/)$ RewriteRule (.*)$ /$1/ [R=301,L] This is working great, however, when I have a php file in a directory, and I want to serve that file from a directory I get a 404 error. Is there a way to do this with 1 .htaccess file in the root. I really don't want to remember to put a .htaccess file in each directory. Right now www.myexample.com/information/ Serves /information.php. Great! However www.myexample.com/categories/category-1/ this throws a 404 even though the file /categories/category-1.php does exist. I would like to modify my .htaccess file so this serves /categories/category-1.php.

  • Regex for Eclipse/Flash Builder File Search for comments?

    - by Brian Bishop
In Eclipse (and Flash/Flex Builder) you get the option with Ctrl+Shift+F to do a file search and look for a regular expression. Would be a real handy thing to know. I want to find the word negate if it appears in a Flex/java comment like the following: // It was negated because or /* The negate option was.... */ or /** * We have to negate the value */ Any ideas? Will test them out at http://www.regexplanet.com/simple/index.html

  • How do I show an embedded excel file in a WebPage?

    - by Juan Manuel Formoso
I want to allow an Excel report to be viewed embedded in a WebPage... is there a way? I don't want to use an ActiveX, or OWC (Office Web Components), I just want to open an existing file from the internet explorer application. I don't want users to download and then open it. Using an iframe wouldn't be a problem, but my preliminary tests weren't successful Any ideas? Is it at all possible?

    - by georgehu
I have a html file with xml snipped embedded, the source code is pasted in the pastbin: http://pastebin.com/Hy0QaWk8 my task is to extract the text enclosed in the first textarea, which is a xml snippet, from the html. Without any change to the original snippet. I'm able to get it by using the BeautifulSoup, but it changes all the tag names into lower case.

  • iTunes + External Hard Drive problem

    - by Samwho
Okay, so I've always stored my music on my external hard drive and run it from there with iTunes. Recently, however, it's being a little awkward. I think it was because I accidentally tried to run a song off my hard drive when it wasn't plugged in and, as would be expected, it said it couldn't find it. So I plug the hard drive in, locate the file and off it goes. But now it won't find any of the files... When I go to the "Get Info" page on the right click menu on a song I notice it has prepended file://localhost/ to everything, so my paths look like this: "file://localhost/E:/Sam/Media/Music/[song name]" I went into the iTunes Music Library.xml file and did a search and replace for file://localhost/ and replaced it with nothing and tried opening iTunes again and it just added file://localhost/ to every file again! Anyone have any idea why it does this and how to fix it without reimporting my library?

  • How can I execute a Java program within a php script?

    - by user450775
I am writing a simple web upload script. The goal is to upload a file using php, and then calling a java program to process this file. I have done the work for uploading the file, but I cannot get a java program to be successfully run from within the php script. I have tried exec(), shell_exec(), and system() with no results. For the command, I have used "java Test", "java < directory /Test", "/usr/bin/java < directory /Test", I have even set up the application as a jar file with no results. The actual line of code I have used is: echo shell_exec("java Test"); Usually there is no output. However, if I have just shell_exec("java"), then the last line of the help from java ("show splash screen with specified image") is displayed, which shows that the command has been executed. If I use, for example, shell_exec("whoami") I get "nobody" returned, which is correct. The only thing the java file does is create a file so that I can see that the application has been successfully run (the application runs successfully if I run it on the command line). I have set the permissions for the java file to 777 to rule out any possibility of permission errors. I have been struggling with this for a while trying all sorts of options with no results - the file is never created (the file is created with an absolute path so it's not being created and I just can't find the file). Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
