    Hi, I run this snippet twice, in the ubuntu terminal, (encoding set to utf-8) once with ./test.py and then with ./test.py >out.txt: uni = u"\u001A\u0BC3\u1451\U0001D10C" print uni Without redirection it prints garbage. With redirection I get a UnicodeDecodeError. Can someone explain why I get the error only in the second case, or even better give a detailed explanation of what's going on behind the curtain in both cases?

  • iPhone animated banner : which framework to use

    Hi folks, I'm willing to create a little frame to display animated ads in my app. It could be simple little animations, or "3D" transition between ads, or combination of both. I'm not familiar with graphic frameworks, I just used CoreGraphics, which I think is not optimized for that. I thought of OpenGL, but maybe that's too much and takes too much ressources just for this little thing. What do you think ?

I am writing a custom component (derived from a relative layout) which has to show a dialog, Is there a way to do this using callbacks like oncreatedialog or onpreparedialog? if not: if i have to create the dialog outside oncreatedialog, i have to "attach it to an Activity with setOwnerActivity(Activity)". How can the custom component access the activity it is used in, when it is used in the activity's xml-layout and not created from code?

    Hi guys, I'm importing from two jar's twitter4j-2.0.10.jar and mysql-connector-java-5.1.10-bin.jar, I'm running the code on a server but it's not letting me. I get a.. Streamer.java:9: package twitter4j does not exist import twitter4j.StatusDeletionNotice; ^ error when compiling. I know this has something to do with getting java to recognise my custom jar's but I don't know how to get java to "see" them. Any ideas?

First I have to do is to create a cursor storing text length, so when cursor changes from 1 to 0 there is nothing to do. The only way to launch the method is when text length is 0 - press backspace - remain to 0. How to catch the event of pressing the backspace key in my UITextField ? Thanks in advance !

New rows are added daily so I would like it first delete any records that are greater than the 20 allowed starting with the earliest.     Hi I have a temp website set up in IIS Manager (6) linked to an IP / URL, for example: 1.2.3.4 / www.someUrl.com When that url is accessed, the temp website shows fine. But if someone tries to access any other file within that domain, for example: www.someUrl.com/index.cfm?action=profile then the upgrade website does not display. How do I get it to show for all requests made to the domain www.someUrl.com?? Thanks
