  • Mixing a4 and a3 in one Latex file

    - by jorgusch
Hello, I am finishing my thesis and have a large appendix. Some tables only look good, if first done on a3 and then (paper)printed on a4. Anyhow, working all the files seperalty is fine, but I struggle to compile all in one. I use the geometry package and start the document with: \usepackage[a4paper,left=30mm,right=20mm,top=20mm, bottom=20mm]{geometry} For the appendix, I want to include the table and use \newgeometry{a3paper,left=25mm,right=15mm, top=15mm, bottom=15mm} However, the command is completely ignored and I can read "a3paper,left=25mm,right=15mm, top=15mm, bottom=15mm" above the table. What did I miss? Is it even possible? If not, how do I get the numbers right, if I have to include it as a pdf (which works)? Thanks!

  • Firefox extension file structure best practice

    - by user353969
Is it a good practice to put js files of the "content" folders in inner folders representing their logical module? For example have a "datalayer" and "view" folders? I looked into some well known extensions, such as Firebug, and saw no such devision. I'm a Java developer so its seems much more natural to divide the files logically.

  • Uncompress a TIFF file without going through BufferedImage

    - by Gert
I am receiving large size CCITT Group 4 compressed TIFF files that need to be written elsewhere as uncompressed TIFF files. I am using the jai_imageio TIFF reader and writer to do that and it works well as long as the product _width * height_ of the image fits in an integer. Here is the code I am using: TIFFImageReaderSpi readerSpi= new TIFFImageReaderSpi(); ImageReader imageReader = readerSpi.createReaderInstance(); byte[] data = blobManager.getObjectForIdAndVersion(id, version); ImageInputStream imageInputStream = ImageIO.createImageInputStream(data); imageReader.setInput(imageInputStream); TIFFImageWriterSpi writerSpi = new TIFFImageWriterSpi(); ImageWriter imageWriter = writerSpi.createWriterInstance(); ImageWriteParam imageWriteParam = imageWriter.getDefaultWriteParam(); imageWriteParam.setCompressionMode(ImageWriteParam.MODE_DISABLED); //bufferFile is created in the constructor ImageOutputStream imageOutputStream = ImageIO.createImageOutputStream(bufferFile); imageWriter.setOutput(imageOutputStream); //Now read the bitmap BufferedImage bufferedImage = imageReader.read(0); IIOImage iIOImage = new IIOImage(bufferedImage, null, null); //and write it imageWriter.write(null, iIOImage, imageWriteParam); Unfortunately, the files that I receive are often very large and the BufferedImage cannot be created. I have been trying to find a way to stream from the ImageReader directly to the ImageWriter but I cannot find out how to do that. Anybody with a suggestion?

    - by Mikey1980
I'm trying to write a parser for a xml postback listener, but can't seem to get it to dump the xml for a sample. The API support guy told me to use 'DOMDocument', maybe 'SimpleXML'? Anyways here's the code: (thanks!) <?php $xml_document = file_get_contents('php://input'); $doc = new DOMDocument(); $doc->loadXML($xml_document); $doc->save("test2/".time().".sample.xml").".xml"); ?>

  • How To Get Browser To Open From Same Folder?

    - by Bad Learner
I don't know how to make the title any more clear. Let me give an example - When I want to add an image to an article on my blog, I click "Browse" button in the image uploader, and then upload the image to the blog. The problem is, when I want to upload another image to my blog, I want the browser to look into the same directory; but it's always takes me to the "Recently Used" directory. Is there a way to change this? I hope I have made myself clear enough. EDIT: I only use Chrome, so I am referring to it.

  • [java] Trying to use ResourceBundle to fetch messages from external file

    - by bumperbox
Essentially I would like to have a messages.properties files external to the jar files in my application. So that users can add languages and edit the files easily if my translations are wrong at the moment i use ResourceBundle.getBundle("package.MessageBundle"); But i would like to do something like this ResourceBundle.getBundle("lang/MessageBundle"); Where lang is a folder under my application installation directory. is this a good idea (if not, why not)? can someone point me in the right direction, or some sample code that does this thanks Alex

  • MSI File/Registry failures to Windows Server 2008/Windows 7

    - by Luca
I'm trying to deploy an application on Windows Server 2008 (SP2 x64) and Windows 7 (x64), using VS2005 Installer Project. The MSI version (I think) it the 2.0. Everything works fine, except that some registry keys and some files are not copied on the install machine. The MSI system doesn't notify about nothing (and I don't know whether MSI logs its operations). Are there incompatibilities between my MSI installer project and these new OSes? It seems to me that the OS protect itself for being modified in some part. For example, I'm trying to set the registry keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\WinLogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList\User but it is not created. In the same installer there are many other keys, which are created like expected (as they always did before on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003). What's going on?

  • How to Merge Data From Multiple Excel Files into a Single Excel File or Access Database?

    - by lalabeans
I have a few dozen excel files which are all of the same format (i.e. 4 worksheets per Excel file). I need to combine all the files into 1 master file which must have just 2 of the 4 worksheets. The corresponding worksheets from each Excel file are named exactly the same as are the column headers. While each file is structured the same, the information within sheet 1 and 2 (for example) is different. So it can’t be combined into one file with everything in one sheet! I've never used VBA before and I'm wondering where I might start this task!

  • Using Visual sudio .ncb file for reflection.

    - by Rushi
I am developing visual game level editor in c++. For this I want reflection(RTTI) mechanism to know class attributes at runtime. I am currently using PDB files for this. But using PDB I couldn't retrieve actual code line for extra information in commented format which is given for that attribute. Visual studio uses NCB files for intelligence. So will it be better idea to use NCB instead PDB? If yes,How to retrieve information from NCB files? Is there any SDK like DIA SDK?
