  • ViewPager resize height to Content

    - by user1324936
    ViewPager does not wrap its height to its content. For my layout I need to set the hight then dynamically because it is nested in other layouts. Therefore I created a ScrollView as content of the ViewPager and check its height in onCreate method of the Fragment, but the ScrollView has always the same size. How can I resize the ViewPager to fit to its content? final ScrollView sv = (ScrollView) v.findViewById(R.id.sv); ViewTreeObserver vto = scrollViewMenuFragen.getViewTreeObserver(); vto.addOnGlobalLayoutListener(new OnGlobalLayoutListener() { @Override public void onGlobalLayout() { int height = sv.getMeasuredHeight(); //always same height independent of content height //need to resize ViewPager ViewGroup.LayoutParams params = (ViewGroup.LayoutParams) mPager.getLayoutParams(); params.height = height; mPager.setLayoutParams(params); } });

  • Upload Large files(1GB)-ASP.net

    - by Ramya Raj
I need to upload large files of atleast 1GB file size. I am using ASP.Net, C# and IIS 5.1 as my development platform. I am using HIF.PostedFile.InputStream.Read(fileBytes,0,HIF.PostedFile.ContentLength) before using File.WriteAllBytes(filePath, fileByteArray)(doesnt go here but gives System.OutOfMemoryException' exception) Currently i have set the httpRuntime to executionTimeout="999999" maxRequestLength="2097151"(thats 2GB!) useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" minFreeThreads="8" minLocalRequestFreeThreads="4" appRequestQueueLimit="5000" enableVersionHeader="true" requestLengthDiskThreshold="8192" Also i have set maxAllowedContentLength="2097151" (guess its only for IIS7) I have changed IIS connection timeout to 999,999 secs too. I am unable to upload files of even 4578KB(Ajaz-Uploader.zip)

  • Matlab: How to find the right-most point of a white line within the imrect?

    - by mchlfchr
i've got a question regarding the imrect() function, which is part of the image processing toolbox in MatLab. I'd like to find a starting point within an image. I use the imrect function for setting a region to limit and specify the lookup area, but I can't get the point where the ROI mask is getting back mapped to the original size of the image. As you can see on the image there is a specified rectangle (cyan-colored), which I want to inspect for the white line, especially the nearest point to the right edge of the rectangle. I experimentated with only looking up on the last column of the rectangle, but as I mentioned before, the re-mapping onto the global image coordinates failed. So in this example, the white point I'd like to get would be around (98,302) The original (x,y) coordinates are relevant, so a cropping of the image to the rectangle is not acceptable. So, do you have any ideas? Thanks for any helping comments. Kind regards,

  • finding a point on an ellipse circumference which is inside a rectangle having center point, height

    - by Shlomi Assaf
Hi all. I have a rectangle in .NET in which I draw an ellipse. I know the width, height and center point of that rectangle. Ofcourse the cetner point of the rectangle is also the center point of the ellipse. I know how to calculate a point on a circle, however I have no clue about an ellipse. I have those parameters and an angle, i need the point on the ellipse, can someone post the formula? I saw somewhere you need to calculate 2 points in which 2 raduises will go, the sum of the radiuses will be fixed and they will change in size accordingly. I dont know how to do that, I only have the rectange height, width and center point and ofcourse the angle I wish to find the point at. thanks for any help Shlomi

  • Reason for monolithic data files

    - by Ali Lown
Primarily this seems to be a technique used by games, where they have all the sounds in one file, textures in another etc. With these files commonly reaching the GB size. What is the reason behind doing this over maintaining it all in subdirectories as small files - one per texture which many small games use this, with the monolithic system being favoured by larger companies? Is there some file system overhead with lots of small files? Are they trying to protect their property - although most just seem to be a compressed file with a new extension?

  • jQuery getting these functions to work together

    - by brett
    I'm new to jQuery and have tried looking around for an answer on how to do this. I have 2 functions and I would like both to work together. The one function is submitHandler and its used to hide a form and at the same time add a class to a hidden element to unhide it - ie a thank you for submitting h1. The other function is to grab the input data and display it onsubmit in the form. So the problem is that I can get that one to work but then the other doesnt. Ie on form submit I can see the data input but not the h1 Thank you message. Here are the functions: SubmitHandler: submitHandler: function() { $("#content").empty(); $("#content").append( "<p>If you want to be kept in the loop...</p>" + "<p>Or you can contact...</p>" ); $('h1.success_').removeClass('success_').addClass('success_form'); $('#contactform').hide(); }, onsubmit="return inputdata()" function inputdata(){ var usr = document.getElementById('contactname').value; var eml = document.getElementById('email').value; var msg = document.getElementById('message').value; document.getElementById('out').innerHTML = usr + " " + eml + msg; document.getElementById('out').style.display = "block"; return true; }, The form uses PHP and jQuery - I dont know about AJAX but after some reading even less sure. Please help me out I dont know what I'm doing and at the moment I am learning but its a long road for me still. Thank you The form: <form method="post" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" id="contactform" onsubmit="return inputdata()"> <div class="_required"><p class="label_left">Name*</p><input type="text" size="50" name="contactname" id="contactname" value="" class="required" /></div><br/><br/> <div class="_required"><p class="label_left">E-mail address*</p><input type="text" size="50" name="email" id="email" value="" class="required email" /></div><br/><br/> <p class="label_left">Message</p><textarea rows="5" cols="50" name="message" id="message" class="required"></textarea><br/> <input type="submit" value="submit" name="submit" id="submit" /> </form> The PHP bit: <?php $subject = "Website Contact Form Enquiry"; //If the form is submitted if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { //Check to make sure that the name field is not empty if(trim($_POST['contactname']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else { $name = trim($_POST['contactname']); } //Check to make sure sure that a valid email address is submitted if(trim($_POST['email']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else if (!eregi("^[A-Z0-9._%-]+@[A-Z0-9._%-]+\.[A-Z]{2,4}$", trim($_POST['email']))) { $hasError = true; } else { $email = trim($_POST['email']); } //Check to make sure comments were entered if(trim($_POST['message']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else { if(function_exists('stripslashes')) { $comments = stripslashes(trim($_POST['message'])); } else { $comments = trim($_POST['message']); } } //If there is no error, send the email if(!isset($hasError)) { $emailTo = '[email protected]'; //Put your own email address here $body = "Name: $name \n\nEmail: $email \n\nComments:\n $comments"; $headers = 'From: My Site <'.$emailTo.'>' . "\r\n" . 'Reply-To: ' . $email; mail($emailTo, $subject, $body, $headers); $emailSent = true; } } ? The Jquery Validate bit: $(document).ready(function(){ $('#contactform').validate({ showErrors: function(errorMap, errorList) { //restore the normal look $('#contactform div.xrequired').removeClass('xrequired').addClass('_required'); //stop if everything is ok if (errorList.length == 0) return; //Iterate over the errors for(var i = 0;i < errorList.length; i++) $(errorList[i].element).parent().removeClass('_required').addClass('xrequired'); }, Here is the full jQuery bit: $(document).ready(function(){ $('#contactform').validate({ showErrors: function(errorMap, errorList) { //restore the normal look $('#contactform div.xrequired').removeClass('xrequired').addClass('_required'); //stop if everything is ok if (errorList.length == 0) return; //Iterate over the errors for(var i = 0;i < errorList.length; i++) $(errorList[i].element).parent().removeClass('_required').addClass('xrequired'); }, submitHandler: function() { $('h1.success_').removeClass('success_').addClass('success_form'); $("#content").empty(); $("#content").append('#sadhu'); $('#contactform').hide(); }, }); }); Latest edit - Looks like this: $(document).ready(function(){ $('#contactform').validate({ showErrors: function(errorMap, errorList) { //restore the normal look $('#contactform div.xrequired').removeClass('xrequired').addClass('_required'); //stop if everything is ok if (errorList.length == 0) return; //Iterate over the errors for(var i = 0;i < errorList.length; i++) $(errorList[i].element).parent().removeClass('_required').addClass('xrequired'); }, function submitHandler() { $('h1.success_').removeClass('success_').addClass('success_form'); $("#content").empty(); $("#content").append('#sadhu'); $('#contactform').hide(); }, function inputdata() { var usr = document.getElementById('contactname').value; var eml = document.getElementById('email').value; var msg = document.getElementById('message').value; document.getElementById('out').innerHTML = usr + " " + eml + msg; document.getElementById('out').style.display = "block"; }, $(document).ready(function(){ $('#contactForm').submit(function() { inputdata(); submitHandler(); }); }); });

  • How to print an isosceles triangle

    - by Steve
Hello, I'm trying to learn programming by myself, I'm working from a book that has the following problem which I can't solve: Allow the user to input two values: a character to be used for printing an isosceles triangle and the size of the peak for the triangle. For example, if the user inputs # for the character and 6 for the peak, you should produce the following display: # ## ### #### ##### ###### ##### #### ### ## # This is the code I've got so far: char character; int peak; InputValues(out character, out peak); for (int row = 1; row < peak * 2; row++) { for (int col = 1; col <= row; col++) { Console.Write(character); } Console.WriteLine(); } Console.Read() // hold console open Thanks in advance.

  • Sometimes, scaling down a bitmap generates a bigger file. Why?

    - by Matías
    Hello, I'm trying to write a method to reduce the size of any image 50% each time is called but I've found a problem. Sometimes, I end up with a bigger filesize while the image is really just half of what it was. I'm taking care of DPI and PixelFormat. What else am I missing? Thank you for your time. public Bitmap ResizeBitmap(Bitmap origBitmap, int nWidth, int nHeight) { Bitmap newBitmap = new Bitmap(nWidth, nHeight, origBitmap.PixelFormat); newBitmap.SetResolution(origBitmap.HorizontalResolution, origBitmap.VerticalResolution); using (Graphics g = Graphics.FromImage((Image)newBitmap)) { g.InterpolationMode = InterpolationMode.HighQualityBicubic; g.DrawImage(origBitmap, 0, 0, nWidth, nHeight); } return newBitmap; }

  • Undo history broken in Eclipse?

    - by Artem Russakovskii
Is Eclipse's undo history broken? I have been using 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and now 3.4 versions for the last few years and was always able to undo only about 20-25 changes back in history. This nonsense has cost me some lost modifications countless times when trying to revert some recent changes (if you reply with "you should commit to svn every 25 changes", I'm going to unleash dragons on you). There's a setting in Preferences-Editors-Text Editors-Undo history size and I set it to 1000 but it didn't help anything. I'm mostly using Eclipse with the Perl E.P.I.C. in the Perl Perspective, if it matters. So guys, what's the problem and how do I fix it?

  • Html + Css: How to create a auto-resizing rotated background?

    - by Sebastian P.R. Gingter
Hi, image a complete black web page. On this web page is a 100% size white div that fills the whole page. I'd like to rotate this div by -7 degrees (or 7 degrees counter-clock wise). This will result in the black background being visible in triangles on the edges, just like you had placed a piece of paper on a desk and turned it a bit to the left. Actually this can be done with some css and it's working quite well (except for IE). The real problem now is: I'd like to have a normal, non-rotated div element on top of that to display the content in, so that only the background is rotated. Rotating a contained div counterwise doesn't work though, because through the two transformations the text will be blurry in all browsers. How can I realize that? Best would be a solution workiing in current Webkit browsers, FF3.5+ and IE7+. If only IE8+ I could live with that too.

  • If you were developing shareware softwares for windows, would you target the .Net Framework or use n

    - by bohoo
For the sake of the question, by 'shareware' I mean a software which is relatively small in size (up to few dozens of mb) and available for download and evaluation through a web site. I'm asking this question, because I don't understand something regarding the current state of windows commercial desktop development. It seems to me that: There is no reliable statistic regarding the extent of windows systems with .Net Framework installed. It makes no sense to force the end user to install the 20-60mb .Net for an application which may be smaller. Applications conforms to the term 'shareware' above have a big share on the win os market. Much of them don't need the capabilities of low level languages like c++, and therefore ideally they should be developed with a RAD enviroment. So, One would suppose there will be a blossom of RAD enviroments for native win code. But I know about only one - Delphi, and Delphi is so unpopular. How is that?

  • Is a program compiled with -g gcc flag slower than the same program compiled without -g?

    - by e271p314
I'm compiling a program with -O3 for performance and -g for debug symbols (in case of crash I can use the core dump). One thing bothers me a lot, does the -g option results in a performance penalty? When I look on the output of the compilation with and without -g, I see that the output without -g is 80% smaller than the output of the compilation with -g. If the extra space goes for the debug symbols, I don't care about it (I guess) since this part is not used during runtime. But if for each instruction in the compilation output without -g I need to do 4 more instructions in the compilation output with -g than I certainly prefer to stop using -g option even at the cost of not being able to process core dumps. How to know the size of the debug symbols section inside the program and in general does compilation with -g creates a program which runs slower than the same code compiled without -g?

  • C# Virtual Mode List View Click 1 Selects More Than One Items

    - by Samir
I have a list view with virtual mode set to true and other things. It doing ok. But 1) Say there are 25 items and 15 of them are visible, that is to see the rest of 10 items need to scroll down. 2) Before scrolling swap two items, say myItems[0], it must be visible & myItems[20], it must be not visible scroll required. 3) Now select the first item, it was swapped, you now have two items selected, both 0 indexed and 20 indexed ones. When after swap, those two list view items are of same Position and same Bounds. But before 20-indexed item's Position was (-1, -1) and Bounds was (0,0,0,0). How come 0-indexed item didn't change its position & size? How to solve this ?

  • Debugging in visual studio 2008 freezes entire system

    - by mat690
Any time i try to debug in visual studio 2008 my entire system will freeze whenever a breakpoint is hit. I can move the mouse around and that remains responsive but nothing i click on does anything, I can bring up the task manager but can't do anything with it and i am able to lock/unlock the machine. I tried a fix that i found via google that suggested i disable advanced text services but it didn't work. I am using visual studio 2008 with SP1 running on Windows XP Pro, asking here is my last hope before formating/reinstalling so i hope someone can help me out. I debug by running the application in debug mode, the freeze happens no matter what the project size and it seems as if it is just the entire GUI that freezes, the computer carries on working just fine i just can't do anything with it because the GUI is totaly unresponsive.

  • Creating a pie chart for an app

    - by jhodgson4
I'm developing an app which requires a pie chart to display a set number of modules. The modules need to be clickable, sending a value to the database for how many times the module has been clicked. The slices will change color etc depending on this database value. The slices will always be equal in size. All simple stuff. My question is what charting system would you use. I've been looking at google charts but I have no way of registering a value in a slice without changing its 'weight' in the chart. So ideally I would like to add data-stage="2" to each slice that I can access with a custom method. Also google charts seems quite heavy for what I need? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Joe

  • link with static library vs individual object files

    - by dododo
For a reason i want to unpack a static lib (libx.a) into individual object files (a.o b.o c.o), and specify these object files (a.o b.o c.o) in the linker input list instead of libx.a, with other linker options remaining the same. However, i have noticed the above change has resulted in quite some difference in the output executable. Basically, (a.o b.o c.o) method will result in larger output size. So what's the difference between the two methods (libx.a and individual object files)? And is there a way to work around? The GNU binutil (for and ar ld) version i'm using is 2.16.1 Thanks.

  • Applying a pixel shader effect to a portion of an image

    - by Nick
I have a ScrollViewer that contains a very large video (16 megapixel @ 10fps) and I want to apply a pixel shader effect to it. Given the size of the images I can't apply the effect directly to the image. So I apply the effect to the ScrollContentPresenter in the control style. Which is great, everything runs nice and fast. However, I'm also rendering annotations inside of the ScrollContentPresenter which I do NOT want effects applied to (but they need to move and scale along with the image). Is there to apply the effect just to the clipped and displayed portion of the image or do I need to build a rather more complex control?

  • wordpress image showing up multiple times

    - by JCHASE11
I am writing a wordpress theme, and have run into a fairly basic problem. By default, when you inset an image into the post, it displays that image at the size you specify, on both the homepage and the single post. I would like to have different sized images, displaying a thumbnail on the homepage, and a full sized image when you click through to the post. I am using wordpress 2.9's new thumbnail feature, which has created great thumbnails for the homepage. But now, I am stuck with a nice thumbnail next to a large photo (on the index/home page). On the single page, it is displaying correctly with just the large picture. Basically, I need to know how to tell wordpress to only display the large post image on the single page, not on the index. Also: I have used the timthumb script, but I think the answer is far more basic then needing plugins or scripts Thanks!

  • How to parse a tar file in C++

    - by Brendan Long
What I want to do is download a .tar file with multiple directories with 2 files each. The problem is I can't find a way to read the tar file without actually extracting the files (using tar). The perfect solution would be something like: #include <easytar> Tarfile tar("somefile.tar"); std::string currentFile, currentFileName; for(int i=0; i<tar.size(); i++){ file = tar.getFileText(i); currentFileName = tar.getFileName(i); // do stuff with it } I'm probably going to have to write this myself, but any ideas would be appreciated..

  • Multiple layout UserControl

    - by johnm01
Hi all, I have a UserControl that manages a lot of editable information (like text-boxes). Now I need to make a version of this control that has a different layout (from horizontal to vertical). I can expose the control, like this: public TextBox MyText { get { return myText; } set { myText = value; } } i can now manually change the location and size, but this does not give me a visual reposition of them at design time. Is there a better way of doing this ? Thanks John

  • Tuning JVM (GC) for high responsive server application

    - by elgcom
I am running an application server on Linux 64bit with 8 core CPUs and 6 GB memory. The server must be highly responsive. After some inspection I found that the application running on the server creates rather a huge amount of short-lived objects, and has only about 200~400 MB long-lived objects(as long as there is no memory leak) After reading http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/hotspot/gc/gc_tuning_6.html I use these JVM options -Xms2g -Xmx2g -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -XX:NewRatio=1 -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC Result: the minor GC takes 0.01 ~ 0.02 sec, the major GC takes 1 ~ 3 sec the minor GC happens constantly. How can I further improve or tune the JVM? larger heap size? but will it take more time for GC? larger NewSize and MaxNewSize (for young generation)? other collector? parallel GC? is it a good idea to let major GC take place more often? and how?
