• Supported Linq for WCF Data Services

  I'm looking for the full list of supported linq extension methods that are compatible with WCF Data Services. By trial and error I've found First() and Single() aren't supported, any others? This gives me a pretty good idea of whats supported, I just don't know whats actually translated via the IQueryProvider.

• What problem does NHibernate solve?

  I've seen some jobs that require nhibernate knowledge, as well as numerous questions on stack. I found another question that pointed me to Summer Of NHibernate and I am watching the videos now. However it has no introduction explaining why NHibernate was created and what problem is solves. By looking on wikipedia, I can see vaguely what it does, but to me it looks like .NET already has the entity framework which seems to do the same thing. Can anyone clarify why nhibernate exists?

• Is there a memory efficient and fast way to load big json files in python?

  I have some json files with 500MB. If I use the "trivial" json.load to load its content all at once, it will consume a lot of memory. Is there a way to read partially the file? • How to tell which php.ini files is loaded ?

  Looking at my php.info all it says is "Loaded Configuration file:" C:\xampp\php\php.ini Yet I have two ini files inside the php folder. One, "development", the other "production". I can not see within either ini file the value, "Loaded Configuration file" .. So How do I tell which one is being used and where is that managed ? In this project they often use syntax like the following to check arguments for null: public GenericRepository(IQueryableContext context,ITraceManager traceManager) { if (context == (IQueryableContext)null) throw new ArgumentNullException("context", Resources.Messages.exception_ContainerCannotBeNull); Why would you cast null to the type of the object you are checking for null?
