  • Getting a SIGABRT error in dismissModalViewController

    - by mcalleja
    Im receiving a SIGABRT error when I cancel a MFMailComposeViewController, exactly in the dismissViewController, don't work I have a UIViewController within a UINavigationController. My Code: - (void)sendMail { if ([MFMailComposeViewController canSendMail]) { controller = [[MFMailComposeViewController alloc] init]; [[controller navigationBar] setTintColor:[UIColor getHexColorWithRGB:@"e2de09" alpha:1.0f]]; controller.mailComposeDelegate = self; [controller setSubject:@"Subject"]; NSString *msg="xxxxx"; [controller setMessageBody:msg isHTML:YES]; [self presentModalViewController:controller animated:YES]; } else { NSString * errorString = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"mail account not set."]; UIAlertView * errorAlert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:@"Error:" message:errorString delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"OK" otherButtonTitles:nil]; [errorAlert show]; } } The presentModalViewController:animated: works correctly. - (void)mailComposeController:(MFMailComposeViewController*)controller didFinishWithResult:(MFMailComposeResult)result error:(NSError*)error { [self becomeFirstResponder]; [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; } But calling [self dissmissModalViewControllerAnimatedLYES] causes a SIGABRT error.

  • Trouble accessing Mutable array

    - by Jared Gross
    Im having trouble with my for loop where I am trying to index user names. I am able to separate my original array into individual objects but am not able to send the value to a new array that I need to reference later on. The value and count for userNames in my self.userNamesArray = userNames; line is correct. But right after that when I log self.userNamesArray, I get (null). Any tips cause I'm not completely sure I'm cheers! .h @property (nonatomic, copy) NSMutableArray *userNamesArray; .m - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { self.friendsRelation = [[PFUser currentUser] objectForKey:@"friendsRelation"]; PFQuery *query = [self.friendsRelation query]; [query orderByAscending:@"username"]; [query findObjectsInBackgroundWithBlock:^(NSArray *objects, NSError *error) { if (error) { NSLog(@"Error: %@ %@", error, [error userInfo]); } else { self.friends = objects; NSArray *users = [self.friends valueForKey:@"username"]; NSLog(@"username:%@", users); //Create an array of name wrappers and pass to the root view controller. NSMutableArray *userNames = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithCapacity:[self.friends count]]; for (NSString *user in users) { componentsSeparatedByCharactersInSet:charSet]; NSArray *nameComponents = [user componentsSeparatedByString:@" "]; UserNameWrapper *userNameWrapper = [[UserNameWrapper alloc] initWithUserName:nil nameComponents:nameComponents]; [userNames addObject:userNameWrapper]; } self.userNamesArray = userNames; NSLog(@"userNamesArray:%@",self.userNamesArray); [self.tableView reloadData]; } Here's the code where I need to reference the self.userNamesArray where again, it is comping up nil. - (void)setUserNamesArray:(NSMutableArray *)newDataArray { if (newDataArray != self.userNamesArray) { self.userNamesArray = [newDataArray mutableCopy]; if (self.userNamesArray == nil) { self.sectionsArray = nil; NSLog(@"user names empty"); } else { [self configureSections]; } } }

  • Pass Variables In Inheritance (Obj - C)

    - by Marmik Shah
    I working on a project in Obj-C where i have a base class (ViewController) and a Derived Class (MultiPlayer). Now i have declared certain variables and properties in the base class. My properties are getting accessed from the derived class but im not able to access the variables (int,char and bool type). I'm completely new to Obj-C so i have no clue whats wrong. I have used the data types which are used in C and C++. Is there some specific way to declare variables in Obj-C?? If so, How? Here are my files ViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface ViewController : UIViewController @property (weak,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView* backGroungImage; @property (strong,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView *blockView1; @property (strong,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView *blockView2; @property (strong,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView *blockView3; @property (strong,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView *blockView4; @property (strong,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView *blockView5; @property (strong,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView *blockView6; @property (strong,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView *blockView7; @property (strong,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView *blockView8; @property (strong,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView *blockView9; @property (strong,nonatomic) UIImage *x; @property (strong,nonatomic) UIImage *O; @property (strong,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView* back1; @property (strong,nonatomic) IBOutlet UIImageView* back2; @end ViewController.m #import "ViewController.h" @interface ViewController () @end @implementation ViewController int chooseTheBackground = 0; int movesToDecideXorO = 0; int winningArrayX[3]; int winningArrayO[3]; int blocksTotal[9] = {8,3,4,1,5,9,6,7,2}; int checkIfContentInBlocks[9] = {0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0}; char determineContentInBlocks[9] = {' ',' ',' ',' ',' ',' ',' ',' ',' '}; bool player1Win = false; bool player2Win = false; bool playerWin = false; bool computerWin = false; - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; if(chooseTheBackground==0) { UIImage* backImage = [UIImage imageNamed:@"MainBack1.png"]; _backGroungImage.image=backImage; } if(chooseTheBackground==1) { UIImage* backImage = [UIImage imageNamed:@"MainBack2.png"]; _backGroungImage.image=backImage; } } - (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; // Dispose of any resources that can be recreated. } @end I am not able to use the above declared variables in my derived classes!

  • Redrawing content of UIWebView

    - by btate
    I have a bunch of webviews with static html content that I'm putting in a scroll view as pages. That works fine, but having 20 something full screen subviews of the scroll view is causing some lag. I solved that by only placing 5 at a time in there. The current view, and the two next and two previous. The problem now is that any web view that is not a subview of the scroll view is not drawing correctly based on the device orientation. The frame of the webview is printing out correct, but the actual content is drawing in portrait mode. So there is essentially a strip of blank space to the right of the content. How do I go about re rendering the content without reloading the page? Here's the relevant code: - (void)didRotateFromInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation) fromInterfaceOrientation{ [self resizeSubViews]; } - (void) setupWebViews{ if(_webViews == nil) _webViews = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; // This is where the navigation would come into play as far as loading up available web views [_webViews removeAllObjects]; // for loop here to create web views for (int i = 0; i < 20; i++) { //CDCWebViewController *webView = [[[MyInternalWebView alloc] initWithFrame:_webViewWrapper.frame] retain]; MyInternalWebView *page = [[[MyInternalWebView alloc] init] retain]; [page loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:_url]]; [page setCdcIWVdelegate:self]; [page setTestIndex:i]; [page setPageIndex:i]; [_webViews addObject:page]; [self loadScrollViewWithPage:i]; } [self clearUnusedWebViews:_pageControl.currentPage]; } - (void) setupWebViewWrapper{ // a page is the width of the scroll view _webViewWrapper.pagingEnabled = YES; _pageControl = [[[UIPageControl alloc] init] retain]; _webViewWrapper.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = NO; _webViewWrapper.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = NO; _webViewWrapper.scrollsToTop = NO; _webViewWrapper.delegate = self; _pageControl.numberOfPages = [_webViews count]; _pageControl.currentPage = 0; } - (void) resizeSubViews{ // The frame is set in IB _webViewWrapper.contentSize = CGSizeMake(_webViewWrapper.frame.size.width * [_webViews count], _webViewWrapper.frame.size.height); // Move the content offset. _webViewWrapper.contentOffset = CGPointMake(_webViewWrapper.frame.size.width * _pageControl.currentPage, _webViewWrapper.contentOffset.y); for (MyInternalWebView *subview in _webViewWrapper.subviews) { // Reset the frame height and width here? CGRect frame = _webViewWrapper.frame; frame.origin.x = frame.size.width * subview.pageIndex; frame.origin.y = 0; [subview setFrame:frame]; } } //***************************************************** //* //* ScrollView Functions //* //***************************************************** - (void)loadScrollViewWithPage:(int)page { // Make sure we're not out of bounds if (page < 0) return; if (page >= [_webViews count]) return; MyInternalWebView *webView = [_webViews objectAtIndex:page]; // Add the preloaded webview to the scrollview if it's not there already if (nil == [webView superview]) { CGRect frame = _webViewWrapper.frame; //NSLog(@"width = %f", frame.size.width); frame.origin.x = frame.size.width * page; frame.origin.y = 0; //NSLog(@"setting frame for page %d %@", page, NSStringFromCGRect(frame)); [webView setFrame:frame]; [_webViewWrapper addSubview:[_webViews objectAtIndex:page]]; // Now that the new one is loaded, clear what doesn't need to be here [self clearUnusedWebViews:page]; } } - (void) clearUnusedWebViews: (NSInteger) page{ for (int i = 0; i < [_webViews count]; i++) { if ((page - i) <= 2 && i - page <= 2) { continue; } [[_webViews objectAtIndex:i] removeFromSuperview]; } } - (void)scrollViewDidScroll:(UIScrollView *)sender { // Switch the indicator when more than 50% of the previous/next page is visible CGFloat pageWidth = _webViewWrapper.frame.size.width; NSInteger page = floor((_webViewWrapper.contentOffset.x - pageWidth / 2) / pageWidth) + 1; _pageControl.currentPage = page; // load the visible page and the page on either side of it (to avoid flashes when the user starts scrolling) [self loadScrollViewWithPage:page - 2]; [self loadScrollViewWithPage:page - 1]; [self loadScrollViewWithPage:page]; [self loadScrollViewWithPage:page + 1]; [self loadScrollViewWithPage:page + 2]; }

  • UIWebView load remote html page with local images and javascript files

    - by BlueNile
    Im creating application that will display remote page on the UIWebView using local images and javascript/css files for faster loading. I want to avoid using cache because for this to work it must first load all the content. I was searching online for possible solution. Here is what I have: NSURLRequest *urlrequest = [ [NSURLRequest alloc] initWithURL: [NSURL URLWithString:urlString] ]; NSData *returnData = [ NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:urlrequest returningResponse: nil error: nil ]; NSString *HTMLData = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:returnData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSString *resourcePath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath]; resourcePath = [resourcePath stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"/" withString:@"//"]; resourcePath = [resourcePath stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@" " withString:@"%20"]; [webView loadHTMLString:HTMLData baseURL: [NSURL URLWithString: [NSString stringWithFormat:@"file:/%@//",resourcePath] ]]; urlString is defined and I moved files to the app bundle. Code works as I can see the remote page but no images nor javascript files are present.

  • NSPredicate 'OR' filtering based on an NSArray of keys

    - by So Over It
    Consider the following NSArray: NSArray *dataSet = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects: [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:@"abc", @"key1", @"def", @"key2", @"hij", @"key3", nil], [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:@"klm", @"key1", @"nop", @"key2", nil], [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:@"qrs", @"key2", @"tuv", @"key3", nil], [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:@"wxy", @"key3", nil], nil]; I am able to filter this array to find dictionary objects that contain the key key1 // Filter our dataSet to only contain dictionary objects with a key of 'key1' NSString *key = @"key1"; NSPredicate *key1Predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"%@ IN self.@allKeys", key]; NSArray *filteretSet1 = [dataSet filteredArrayUsingPredicate:key1Predicate]; NSLog(@"filteretSet1: %@",filteretSet1); Which appropriately returns: filteretSet1: ( { key1 = abc; key2 = def; key3 = hij; }, { key1 = klm; key2 = nop; } ) Now, I am wanting to filter the dataSet for dictionary objects containing ANY of the keys in an NSArray. For example, using the array: NSArray *keySet = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"key1", @"key3", nil]; I want to create a predicate that returns and array of any dictionary objects that contain either 'key1' or 'key3' (ie. in this example all dictionary objects would be returned except for the third object - as it does not contain either 'key1' or 'key3'). Any ideas on how I would achieve this? Would I have to use a compound predicate?

  • How to do something when AVQueuePlayer finishes the last playeritem

    - by user1634529
    I've got an AVQueuePlayer which I'm creating from an array of 4 AVPlayerItems, and it all plays fine. I want to do something when the last item in the queue finishes playing, I've looked a load of answers on here and this is the one that looks most promising for what I want: The best way to execute code AFTER a sound has finished playing In my button handler i have this code: static const NSString *ItemStatusContext; [thePlayerItemA addObserver:self forKeyPath:@"status" options:0 context:&ItemStatusContext]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(playerItemDidReachEnd) name:AVPlayerItemDidPlayToEndTimeNotification object:thePlayerItemA]; theQueuePlayer = [AVQueuePlayer playerWithPlayerItem:thePlayerItemA]; [theQueuePlayer play]; and then I have a function to handle playerItemDidReachEnd: - (void)playerItemDidReachEnd:(NSNotification *)notification { // Do stuff here NSLog(@"IT REACHED THE END"); } But when I run this I get an Internal Inconsistency Exception: An -observeValueForKeyPath:ofObject:change:context: message was received but not handled. Key path: status Observed object: <AVPlayerItem: 0x735a130, asset = <AVURLAsset: 0x73559c0, URL = file://localhost/Users/mike/Library/Application%20Support/iPhone%20Simulator/5.0/Applications/A0DBEC13-2DA6-4887-B29D-B43A78E173B8/Phonics%2001.app/yes.mp3>> Change: { kind = 1; } What am I doing wrong?

  • Delete/move a UITableView row that's attached to a web service.

    - by Kevin L.
    Deleting or moving rows for a UITableView that is backed with local data (e.g., NSArray) is easy and instantaneous: Remove the value from the array. Call deleteRowsAtIndexPaths:withRowAnimation:. Profit! But my table view communicates with a web service, which means once the "Delete" button on that row gets tapped, I have to forward a request on to the server (via ASIHTTPRequest, of course), get the response, and then tell the table view to run its little delete-row animation, all with a few seconds of latency in between. From a high-level, what's the best way to do that? Throw some callback selector into ASIHTTPRequest's userInfo dictionary? KVO? Bonus points for some nice UI touch, like some kind of spinner on the soon-to-be-deleted cell.

  • UIButton title disappears on touch

    - by psychotik
    I want a touchable UILabel, but since that's not possible I decided to create a UIButton of type UIButtonTypeCustom. It looks how I want it to look, but when I touch it, the title disappears. I tried setting the title for state UIControlStateHighlighted but that didn't help. I know I'm doing something really silly here, but can't figure it out. I tried a few things (commented in the code below) which didn't seem to help. Here's how I'm configuring the button: UIButton* button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; button.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, width, height); button.clearsContextBeforeDrawing = YES; button.contentHorizontalAlignment = UIControlContentHorizontalAlignmentLeft; button.contentVerticalAlignment = UIControlContentVerticalAlignmentCenter; button.enabled = YES; button.hidden = NO; button.highlighted = NO; button.opaque = YES; button.selected = NO; button.userInteractionEnabled = YES; button.showsTouchWhenHighlighted = NO; [button setTitle:@"Hello World" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; button.titleLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:16]; button.titleLabel.textColor = [UIColor blackColor]; // Things I tried that didn't help //[button setBackgroundColor:[UIColor clearColor]]; //button.titleLabel.text = @"Hello World"; //[button setTitle:@"Hello World" forState:UIControlStateHighlighted]; Any ideas?

  • what's the right way to cause a subview to redraw when the device orientation changes?

    - by RobertL
    I have a view controller with a view and one subview. When the device orientation changes the view auto-redraws but the subview doesn't. If I explicitly do [subview setNeedsDisplay] it redraws but I don't have a logical place to put that call in my code. And, since I don't have to explicitly tell the view to redraw, it seems counter-intuitive to tell the subview to redraw. Is there a way to make the subview auto-redraw when the view redraws?

  • iPhone memory management: a release after setting self.someProperty = nil

    - by ddawber
    I am reading the LazyTableImages code that Apple have released and they do something to this effect (in an NSOperation subclass): - (void)dealloc { [myProperty release]; [myProperty2 release]; } - (void)main { // // Parse operation undertaken here // self.myProperty = nil; self.myProperty2 = nil; } My thinking is that they do this in case dealloc is called before setting properties to nil. Is my thinking correct here? Are the releases unnecessary, as self.myProperty = nil effectively releases myProperty? One thing I have noticed in this code is that they don't release all retained objects in dealloc, only some of them, which is really the cause for my confusion. Cheers

  • didSelectRowAtIndexPath being called after viewDidLoad of the called view

    - by Serguei Fedorov
    I am trying to pass variables over to the new view. I have the following code: appDelegate *dataCenter = (AppDelegate*)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; dataCenter.myVariable = [array objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; in the didSelectRowAtIndexPath of the calling view. However, the issue that I have is that this variable is empty in the vewDidLoad function of the next view, simply because it fired off BEFORE the didSelectRowAtIndexPath of the calling view. I am using storyboard to link the views together. Both are UITableView. If I hit back and then reselect the table element it is then set, granted that by the time I hit back and then selected again, the variable got set. Is there any way to for the order of execution? I really don't want to do UI view switching on the back end. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Navigation Bar color doesn't change back? iOS7

    - by TKP
    I have several tableviews with navigation controller. The navigation bar is white for all the views except the last one, which is red. I have [[[self navigationController] navigationBar] setTintColor:[UIColor redColor]; in the viewDidLoad of the last tableview and [[[self navigationController] navigationBar] setTintColor:[UIColor whiteColor]; in the viewDidLoad of other table views. It works fine until I get to the last view and the color of the navigation bar changes to red. When I go back to the previous views, all the previous views' navigation bar has changed to red. Where should I put those codes so the color will remain unchanged? Thanks,

  • Breaking One Big Graphic of MutablePaths into CAShapeLayers

    - by StackOverFlowRider
    I have a class called GraphicView that takes a Graphic object and draws it in its drawRect method. This Graphic object is basically an array of mutablePaths that comprise an icon that I want drawn. For performance and other issues, I was thinking of taking this icon that is comprised of mutablePaths, and dividing it into a bunch of CAShapeLayers. I'm wondering is this possible? Considering the points for the mutablePaths of the icon are all interwoven together (ie the icon was initially an SVG file that I converted to code), is it possible to divide different parts of the icon into CAShapeLayers, and reassemble them all together when assigning to the views layer? If so how would it be done? If I assign them as sublayers to a CALayer or CAShapeLayer, will it understand to mesh them all together?

  • How to set only the first cell of a UITableView to a different color?

  • How to implement action in didSelectRowAtIndexPath of UITableview?

    - by Sumana Mehta
    On my view, I used to have few buttons and each button had an action associated with it. UIButton *testButton = [[UIButton alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(120,300,90,90)]; [testButton setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"test.jpg"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [testButton addTarget:self.view action:@selector(gotoProd:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [testButton addt [scrollView testButton]; But now I am trying to replace all those buttons with the tableview with rows. I was able to populate the rows and I know one needs to use didSelectRowAtIndexPath for handling on select event of the cell. But how can I implement action:@selector(gotoProd:) in tableviews ?? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Thread is being killed by the OS

    - by Or.Ron
    I'm currently programming an app that extracts frames from a movie clip. I designed it so that the extraction will be done on a separate thread to prevent the application from freezing. The extraction process itself is taking a lot of resources, but works fine when used in the simulator. However, there are problems when building it for the iPad. When I perform another action (I'm telling my AV player to play while I extract frames), the thread unexpectedly stops working, and I believe it's being killed. I assume it's becauase I'm using a lot of resources, but not entirely sure. Here are my questions: 1. How can I tell if/why my thread stopping? 2. If it's really from over processing what should I do? I really need this action to be implemented. Heres some code im using: To create the thread: [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(startReading) toTarget:self withObject:nil]; I'll post any information you need, Thanks so much! Update I'm using GCD now and it populates the threads for me. However the OS still kills the threads. I know exactly when is it happening. when i tell my [AVplayer play]; it kills the thread. This issue is only happening in the actual iPad and not on the simulator

  • How Do I Bind a UIButton Property to Another Property?
