Hi,
I got OPML files from an iPhone application. I wonder if, appart from Omnioutliner, is possible to open them with Microsoft word or Mail.app for OSX
Thanks
Hi.
After I uninstalled Visual Studio 2010 beta 2 and installed Visual Studio 2010 RC, executing IISRESET gives the following error message:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual
Studio 10.0\VCiisreset /stop
Attempting stop... Stop attempt
failed. The system cannot find the
file specified. (2147942402, 80070002)
Further information. Before bet2, the same computer also had beta1 installed. The OS is Windows 2008 Web Server
Any clue here?
I have a few Windows Vista and XP machines. Can you suggest me a free antivirus and Internet Security solution for them. I searched the internet and got a few options, but if you have used some free AV solutions, please share.
I do not want to use Microsoft Security Essentials or Avira.
My Del Dimension E521 running Windows 7 puts itself in sleep mode each night -- despite the fact that I have chosen a power option that specifies NEVER
Each morning I find the monitor blank and I have to hit the power button on the PC at which point Windows "resumes". The system event log shows this:
Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power
Date: 3/27/2010 3:21:10 AM
Description:
The system is entering sleep.
Sleep Reason: System Idle
My specific power options are:
Turn off Display : 20 Minutes
Put the computer to sleep : Never
Is there some other setting coming into play here?
I was looking for a way to portfoward 0.0.0.0 default gateways and I found in a Microsoft page that I had to try the command route delete 0.0.0.0, my internet disconnected and I couldn't connect to the internet anymore... Does anyone have a solution? It's an ADSL Modem.
I have:
Windows 7 x32
4 GB ram
A kanji modem that has this problem too...
It's like Windows doesn't detect the wireless adapter, so it won't connect to the internet.

In Windows XP we can search for files witch contains a defined keyword (inside all files types)
Windows 7 can look inside files for a keywords, okay, but only for text files. (*.doc,*.txt, *.inf, ...), not (*.conf, *.dat, *.*, ...)
Microsoft search filters don't contain any filter I can use for this.
Any idea?
This occurred after a Trojan incident. We managed to get the Trojan cleaned off the computer, but now we can't Right click the desktop. We have tried changing HKCU/software/microsoft/windows/current version/policies/explorer/noviewcontextmenu in the registry, and group policy user configuration/administrative templates/windows explorer/remove windows explorers default context menu, but neither worked.
How do we reenable the right-click menu for the desktop? (it works everywhere else)
We've a lot of Volume Licences left, but the License Server apparantly
doesn't use them. Instead it issues Temporary Per Device CAL's. Which is a bit odd off course...
There are two licensing servers installed on terminal servers, not on a domain controller (these are pushed by SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services\LicenseServers registry setting)

My Windows Vista Home Premium system is corrupt and won't install Service Pack 2. I have followed all the advice from Microsoft and still no luck.
I would like to perform a clean install of Vista, then SP1, and then SP2. My concern is the effect of the clean install on the registry, my apps and all my data.
My plan:
1. Download Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) ISO and write to DVD.
2. Download Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) ISO and write to DVD.
3. Backup all data, applications and registry to external hard drive (file copy not disk image)
4. ?? Format hard drive?? (is this necessary?)
5. Install Vista from DVDs / CDs.
6. Install SP1 from DVD
7. Install SP2 from DVD
8. Restore registry, applications and data from external hard drive.
My questions:
1. Is formatting the hard drive a necessary step?
2. Will restoring the registry from the backup corrupt the system?
3. Should I use Windows Backup or ZIP/RAR?
4. Any gotcha's that I should look out for?
Background:
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1. The sfc program does not finish due to a resources problem (even when run as administrator). I have 5 users on it. After a while, the screen goes black and shows an error message window about an error with login.scr. Standard accounts display a black screen and can't run any applications. Administrative accounts have no problems (even standard accounts when converted to Administrative have no problem). The CBS log contains a lot of 0x8000ffff and E_UNEXPECTED errors (which Microsoft defines as catastrophic failure). This is the reasoning behind performing a clean install up to service pack 2.
Has anyone gotten ADFS 2.1 on Server 2012 working with o365 SSO?
I have it working up to a point, I tweaked the registry to allow the powershell commands to run, user accounts syncs fine. Even the remote connectivity analyzer shows no errors. But SSO itself does not seem to be passing the credentials correctly.
Microsoft claims that ADFS 2.1 is not supported to work with o365, but I'm just being stubborn and not giving up that easy.
every time i try to install sql server 2005 on windows 7 it tells me error during installation
error 1603 installing Microsoft sql server setup support file see log file file for more detailed information
fatal error during the installation and setup terminates
please advise me to fix this problem
Is there a way of combining or deduplicating contacts in the Windows 8 People app? For some reason I have double entries of many contacts (with identical names), and the app isn't smart enough to integrate them.
I have the following accounts connected:
Microsoft (i.e. Hotmail)
Google (including Contacts)
Facebook
Linkedin
Twitter
The contacts in question have entries from Google contacts as well as Facebook.
Hello,

We are doing embedded device and due to low memory contraints and closed enviroment best option there would be using one of TLS-PSK ChiperSuites (pre shared key - no asymetric cryptography). As far as I see there is no TLS-PSK support in Schannel http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa374757%28VS.85%29.aspx but is there any way to use TLS-PSK on IIS?
Can anyone recommend a manufacturer or starting point for overhead video camera units that can be used to capture a Microsoft Surface application in use? I'd like to stream this from another PC but I'm not sure what the best camera to look at would be. It seems like some of the overhead security cameras would fit the requirements but I don't know if they will interface easily with a PC.
I'm looking for a very comprehensive guide on how to setup a DHCP IP scope, for a phone and PC network on Microsoft Small Business Server 2008.
Any suggestions?

I'd like to create a Templates folder in my profile on Windows 7, but there's already a junction to AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Templates. I assume this is a system configuration so I don't want to delete it. I'm currently calling my folder File Templates, but that seems to verbose to me. Is there anything I can do?
There is a serious problem with one of my servers time.
At some random hours (5:59 localtime in the following example) it goes 1 hour back and keeps doing this again and again next times it reaches 5:59. Like this: 5:59-4:59 … 5:59- 4:59 and so on. It stays in the loop until I manually update its time.
The server OS is Windows 2008 R2 Standard x64, acting as a standalone web server on the internet. time zone (UTC-05:00).

What's the best free online alternative to microsoft FrontPage?
I'm going to make a website for a friend, who will need to be able to edit it himself. All that's needed is something to create/edit simple html markup - I'll be doing the styling/CSS separately.
I'm working on re-arranging a number of the shell folders in windows 7 to utilize Dropbox to keep a set of machines in sync. I'd like to create a .reg file which I can use to update the locations of these folders rather than manually changing them from the UI, but I don't want to rely on the path to the home folder being the same each time. So my question is, is it possible to replace the REG_SZ values in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders with REG_EXPAND_SZ values specifying an offset from %HOME% instead of an exact path?
I just replaced my old Logitech mouse with a Microsoft Wireless Laser mouse, and scrolling is too fast for my liking.
How can I adjust the scroll sensitivity?
I have two servers running Virtual server 2005 R2 SP1. I'm using Symantec Backup Exec 10d for backups.
One server runs the backups fine but the other will cause the vm's to crash when it tries to backup. I think the problem is because the "Microsoft Vitual Server 2005 Writer" is not showing up when I run "vssadmin list writers". Can I install the writer without reinstalling VS 2005?
