• -ln links to wrong file

  I've just installed matlab and want to be able to call it from the terminal. It works fine when I explicitly call it from its directory. I cd to /usr/local/bin and type sudo ln -s /usr/local/MATLAB/R2012a/bin/matlab matlab when I then type "matlab" in the terminal, I get the error message "bash: /media/OS/MATLAB/bin/matlab: No such file or directory" I have no idea why it's trying to call matlab from /media. I've tried deleting the file from usr/local/bin but when I create it again the same thing happens. Any help would be very much appreciated.

• Unable to connect to Samba printer

  I have a headless Ubuntu 12.04 server for files and printers. It shares files via Samba just fine. However, the HP PSC-750xi connected to the server via USB is not accessible from my Ubuntu 12.04 laptop. I can browse for it in the Printing control panel, but any attempt to authenticate my ID to the printer with my user credentials results in the error "This print share is not accessible".   Hi, I run a LVM setup on a raid1 created by mdadm. md2 is based on sda6 (major:minor 8:6) and sdb6 (8:22). md2 is partition 9:2. The VG on top of md2 has 4 LVs, var, home, usr, tmp. First the problem: While booting it seems as if the device mapper takes the wrong partition for the mapping!   So I'm trying to setup PostFix while using SASL (Cyrus variety preferred, I was using dovecot earlier but I'm switching from dovecot to courier so I want to use cyrus instead of dovecot) but I seem to be having issues. • Can't connect to samba

  Windows 7, connecting to Samba shares I have a follow up question from the link above. I am running Samba 3.0.23d on FreeBSD is release 7.1 I changed the policies as described above but still cannot connect to the samba server with the windows 7 or a server 2008. I feel it is a problem with recognizing the new machines on the network. the windows machines can see the samba server, but cannot connect to it or view any of the files. After changing the security policies the samba server asked for network id and password but would not allow the machine to connect, said they were unknown username or bad password. • Compiling program that uses libpcap on Mac OSX using iPhone 3.1.1 SDK for use on iPhone

  Hey SOV users, I have a question that I'm hoping some iPhone Developers may be able to help with. I had a look at statically compiling a binary on my Mac and moving it over to the iPhone for execution. I have managed to get this bit of it working by installing the iPhone 3.1.3 SDK on my Mac and setting the architecture to the iPhone in the gcc line as follows; /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin/gcc -I ~/Downloads/libpcap-1.1.1/pcap-compiled/ -arch armv6 -isysroot /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS2.1.sdk -o test test.c I have managed to successfully compile a "Hello World" C program and executed it on the iPhone with success. e.g. include int main() { printf("Hello, World!\n"); return(0); } This worked a charm. I am also using 'ldid' to sign the application (but only if necessary). Anyways, I have been trying to get a program to compile which uses libpcap (http://www.tcpdump.org/) but with little success. I have downloaded and installed libpcap-1.1.1 on my mac and set the configure --prefix to /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS2.1.sdk/usr/local and build the application. I then saw that the includes actually reside in Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS2.1.sdk/usr/includes and so moved the Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS2.1.sdk/usr/local/include files (which contained only the pcap stuff) to the correct location. I then attempted to compile the test program using; /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin/gcc -I /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS3.1.3.sdk/usr/include/ -arch armv6 -isysroot /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS2.1.sdk -o pcap pcap.c -lpcap This worked a lot better than other tests but produces an error; i.e. ld: library not found for -lcrt1.o collect2: ld returned 1 exit status Do you have any ideas as to how I can do this successfully? I've tried a load of different things but none seem to be successful. Basically, I just want to install (or add) some headers to the existing iPhoneOS SDK for use in compiling programs. Any ideas?   I inherited a project (lucky me!) which relies on a static library. Trying to build the static lib, I get this error: /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: -dynamic not specified the following flags are invalid: -ObjC It is followed by these two lines, which I do understand, but this appears to be a separate problem (missing file.) /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: can't locate file for: -lFlurryWithLocation /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: file: -lFlurryWithLocation is not an object file (not allowed in a library) Command /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool failed with exit code 1 Am I wrong, and it's all related? Will the 1st line error go away if I fix the missing file part? Either way, what does the -dynamic not specified part of message mean? Thanks!

  I would like to parse a config file using glib in Codeblocks which I use. So I want to do exactly the example which is described here first. I have a file named myconfig.cfg and and a code programming.c. I just copy and paste the code to see if glib works but unfortunately it does not work. • Crontab no error but doesn't execute script

  I'm trying to execute a shell script from cron on Freebsd. To test wether crontab is working at all, i wrote the line * * * * * echo "Hello" /home/myuser/logile and it work fine. But when trying to execute any script it doesn't do anything, not even an error. (In the script i tried to run is just the same echo command) Below is the output of crontab -l: SHELL=/bin/sh PATH=/etc:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin HOME=/home/myuser MAILTO=myuser * * * * * /home/myuser/shellscript.sh /home/myuser/logfile why is the script not getting executed, although crontab is obviously running? permission for all files are set to rwxr-xr-x

  I've done quite a bit of research on Heroku Dev Center and I am now looking to the community for help. Here is my problem. I can not push my db to Heroku Cedar Stack. I am trying to migrate a sqlite database to postgresql via Taps gem. When in a thread it throws the following exception : ObjectDisposedException "The safe handle has been closed." (Translated from french) I then replaced "Open" wirh "OpenAsync" which helped not getting the previous exception. But when on Invoke I get the following exception : InvalidRunspaceStateException "Unable to call the pipeline because its state of execution is not Opened. Its current state is Opening."
