  • [Flex 4] Removing sort arrows from AdvancedDataGridColumn Header.

    - by zeroDivisible
Hello, I am doing this simple project using Flex 4 SDK and I got stuck with this simple problem: I have turned sortable property for AdvancedDataGridColumn to false, but the column header is still rendered as: As You can see, my label for this header is "06", but the column header is divided and it keeps the place for sort arrow. How can I change this? I would like my column header to contain only my label. I know that most probably I need to do some magic with AdvancedDataGridHeaderRenderer but I just started learning Flex and would like to receive some help. Thank You for help. Best regards, Mike.

  • BlackBerry - RadioButtonField, hide border on select

    - by Jessica
I have a screen with two RadioButtonField objects. By default, the first RadioButtonField shows a rectangle around it to show its selected, and the rectangle moves if you change the selection to the other RadioButtonField or other buttons and textboxes on the page. What I would like to know is...is there a way to hide this border that shows the selection/border?

  • How to allow resizing of QMessageBox in PyQt4

    - by Simeon Fitch
I'm using the nice feature in QMessageBox to optionally show detailed text to the user. However, the window after expansion is still fairly small, and one immediately tries to resize the window so more of the details are visible. Even after setting what I think are the proper settings it won't allow resizing. Here's the relevant snippet of PyQt4 code: mb = QMessageBox() mb.setText("Results written to '%s'" % filename) mb.setDetailedText(str(myData)) mb.setSizePolicy(QSizePolicy.Expanding, QSizePolicy.Expanding) mb.setSizeGripEnabled(True) Am I missing a step and/or is this at all possible?

  • Invalid Memory Acess for JavaFX ScrollBar

    - by Mike Caron
I created the following JavaFX script, which when run, generates an Invalid memory access. What is it about javafx.scene.control.ScrollBar that is causing a memory failure? Stage { title: "Scroll View" scene: Scene { content: [ ScrollBar { min: 0 max: 100 value: 0 blockIncrement: 10 vertical: false } ] } resizable: false } I'm using whatever JavaFX (at least 1.2) that comes with NetBeans 6.8: Product Version: NetBeans IDE 6.8 (Build 200912041610) Java: 1.6.0_17; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 14.3-b01-101 System: Mac OS X version 10.6.2 running on x86_64; MacRoman; en_US (nb)

  • SWT: scrollable area within a tab

    - by DaveJohnston
I am trying to add a scrollable area to my tabbed window. So far I have a CTabFolder in a shell. I have added 5 CTabItems to it and everything works as expected. On one of my CTabItems the contents are too big to fit on the screen so I would like to be able to scroll. The contents is a collection of Groups each containing various widgets. So the CTabFolder is created as follows: CTabFolder tabs = new CTabFolder(shell, SWT.BORDER); tabs.setSimple(false); tabs.setUnselectedImageVisible(false); tabs.setUnselectedCloseVisible(false); tabs.setMinimizeVisible(false); tabs.setMaximizeVisible(false); FormData tabsLayoutData = new FormData(); tabsLayoutData.top = new FormAttachment(0, 5); tabsLayoutData.left = new FormAttachment(0, 5); tabsLayoutData.bottom = new FormAttachment(92, 0); tabsLayoutData.right = new FormAttachment(100, -5); tabs.setLayoutData(tabsLayoutData); Then the CTabItem: CTabItem tab = new CTabItem(tabs, SWT.NONE); tab.setText("Role"); Then the contents: Composite tabArea = new Composite(tabs, SWT.V_SCROLL); tabArea.setLayout(new FormLayout()); tab.setControl(tabArea); So the groups contained within the tab are created with tabArea as the parent and everything appears as you would expect. The problem is though that the vertical scroll bar is always present but doesn't seem to do anything. The contents are chopped off at the bottom of the tabArea composite. Is there anything else I need to do to get the scrolling to work properly?

  • What is the relation between ContentPane and JPanel?

    - by Roman
I found one example in which buttons are added to panels (instances of JPanel) then panels are added to the the containers (instances generated by getContentPane) and then containers are, by the construction, included into the JFrame (the windows). I tried two things: I got rid of the containers. In more details, I added buttons to a panel (instance of JPanel) and then I added the panel to the windows (instance of JFrame). It worked fine. I got rid of the panels. In more details, I added buttons directly to the container and then I added the container to the window (instance of JFrame). So, I do not understand two things. Why do we have two competing mechanism to do the same things. What is the reason to use containers in combination with the panels (JPanel)? (For example, what for we include buttons in JPanels and then we include JPanels in the Containers). Can we include JPanel in JPanel? Can we include a container in container?

  • Simple popup java form with at least two fields

    - by nunos
This is, I suppose, a very simple question for any Java programmer. My question is as simple as this: When the user clicks a button, I want to show a popup form that should have at least two JTextFields and two JLabels, so using JOptionPane.showInputDialog is not a possibility. Thanks.

  • IPhone Objectvie C

    - by Sea
I am trying to determine if a UILabel was touched and if so do something. Give .. . . . UILabel * site = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 185, 320, 30)]; site.text = [retriever.plistDict valueForKey:@"url"]; site.textAlignment =UITextAlignmentCenter; site.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; site.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; site.userInteractionEnabled = YES; [theBgView addSubview:site]; [site release]; . . . Then I write the callback. - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event{ retriever = [PListRetriever sharedInstance]; CGPoint pt = [[touches anyObject] locationInView: self]; NSURL *target = [[NSURL alloc] initWithString:[retriever.plistDict valueForKey:@"url"]]; [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:target]; } The problem is right now, no matter where I touch in the View the Url is being opened. How do I determine if only just my label was touched?

  • Best way to implement refusing a value change by the user in Swing?

    - by Michael Borgwardt
I have a JCheckBox that should not be checked by the user when a certain other field is empty. So now I want to have an error popup and then reset the checkbox (I've considered disabling the checkbox, but the connection to the other field is non-obvious, and a tooltip text IMO not visible enough). What's the correct way to do that in Swing? Through a PropertyVetoException? Where do I throw it and where do I catch it? My first (probably ugly) idea would be to add a ChangeListener that itself shows the popup and resets the value.

  • Dynamic Clock in java

    - by jt153
I want to implement a clock within my program to diusplay the date and time while the program is running. I have looked into the getCurrentTime() method and timers but none of them seem to do what I would like. The problem is I can get the current time when the program loads but it never updates. Any suggestions on something to look into would be greatly appreciated!

  • Template and Themes in WPF through Custom Xaml Files

    - by AKRamkumar
I have an application where I give my user Widgets. Suppose my user wants to customize the layout of the widgets. For example, I have a clock that is green. In Xaml, to add an animation around the clock would be easy. How could i make it such that at runtime, my application reads a layout.xaml file. Loads it and parses all the gradients and xaml. But still be able to use my widget in there. EG <Layout> <Grid> <!-- Grid Definitions or Animations or Whatever--> <Clock/> <!-- They need to be able to simply use this and my applications needs to read this--> </Grid> </Layout>

  • In an Android test, how to check that a View is shown?

    - by Jan Zankowski
Hello, I'm writing a UI test case (using ActivityUnitTestCase) and would like to check if at a given time a View subclass is visible to the user. I've found the View#isShown() method, which claims to do exactly this - checking the visibility field of this element and all its parents - but somehow it always returns "false" for all the elements. I'll be grateful for some help. If it makes it easier, I can paste some code. Also, I found ViewAsserts#assertOnScreen(View origin, View view) but it doesn't seem to do the right thing either - always returns true. Am I perhaps calling it wrong: assertOnScreen(viewImTesting.getRootView(), viewImTesting)? Thanks, Jan

  • Adding an unknown number of JComponents to a JPanel

    - by Matthew
Good day, I am building an Applet (JApplet to be exact) and I sub divided that into two panels. The top panel is called DisplayPanel which is a custom class that extends JPanel. The bottom panel is called InputPanel which also extends JPanel. As mentioned above, I can add those two Panel's to the applet and they display fine. The next thing that I would like to do is have the InputPanel be able to hold a random number of JComponent Objects all listed veritcally. This means that the InputPanel should be able to have JButtons, JLabels, JTextFields etc thrown at it. I then want the InputPanel to display some sort of scrolling capability. The catch is that since these two panels are already inside my applet, I need the InputPanel to stay the same size as it was given when added to the Applet. So for example, if my applet (from the web-browser html code) was given the size 700,700, and then the DisplayPanel was 700 by 350, and the InputPanel was below it with the same dimensions, I want to then be able to add lots of JComponents like buttons, to the InputPanel and the panel would stay 700 x 350 in the same position that it is at, only the panel would have scroll bars if needed. I've played with many different combinations of JScrollPane, but just cannot get it. Thank you.

  • Qt QAbstractButton setDown interferes with grabMouse

    - by edA-qa mort-ora-y
    I have some weird behaviour in Qt that seems like a defect. I'd like to know if anybody has a good workaround. I have a popup widget that contains many buttons in it. The user activates the popup by pressing the mouse button down. The popup widget calls grabMouse when shown. It gets all the mouse events. As it rolls over a button it calls setDown(true) on the button. Now however, when the mouse button is released the popup widget does not get the mouseReleaseEvent, that goes to the button. That is, calling setDown(true) on a button causes the button to steal mouse events, bypassing the grabMouse in the popup widget. I've looked at the source code for setDown but I can't see anything there that would do it directly. I also notice however that sometimes a button gets a hover event, sometimes not. I would assume it would never get those events when the mouse is grabbed. //g++ -o grab_lost grab_lost.cpp -lQtCore -lQtGui -I /usr/include/qt4/ -I /usr/include/qt4/QtCore -I /usr/include/qt4/QtGui /** Demonstrates the defect of losing the mouse. Run the program and: 1. Press mouse anywhere 2. release in purple block (not on X) 3. Release message written (GrabLost receives the mouseReleaseEvent) For defect: 1. Pree mouse anywhere 2. Release inside the X button 3. button is clicked, no release message (GrabLost does not get the mouseReleaseEvent) */ #include <QWidget> #include <QPushButton> #include <QApplication> #include <QMouseEvent> #include <QPainter> class GrabLost : public QWidget { QPushButton * btn; public: GrabLost( QWidget * parent = 0) : QWidget( parent, Qt::Popup ) { btn = new QPushButton( "X", this ); setMouseTracking( true ); } protected: void showEvent( QShowEvent * ev ) { QWidget::showEvent( ev ); grabMouse(); } void closeEvent( QCloseEvent * ev ) { releaseMouse(); QWidget::closeEvent( ev ); } void hideEvent( QHideEvent * ev ) { releaseMouse(); QWidget::hideEvent( ev ); } void mouseReleaseEvent( QMouseEvent * ev ) { qDebug( "mouseRelease" ); close(); } void mouseMoveEvent( QMouseEvent * ev ) { QWidget * w = childAt( ev->pos() ); bool ours = dynamic_cast<QPushButton*>( w ) == btn; btn->setDown( ours ); } void paintEvent( QPaintEvent * ev ) { //just to show where the widget is QPainter pt( this ); pt.setPen( QColor( 0,0,0 ) ); pt.setBrush( QColor( 128,0,128) ); pt.drawRect( 0, 0, size().width(), size().height() ); } }; class GrabMe : public QWidget { protected: void mousePressEvent( QMouseEvent * ev ) { GrabLost * gl = new GrabLost(); gl->resize( 100, 100 ); QPoint at( mapToGlobal( ev->pos() ) ); gl->move( at.x() - 50, at.y() - 50 ); gl->show(); } }; int main( int argc, char** argv ) { QApplication app( argc, argv ); GrabMe * gm = new GrabMe(); gm->move( 100, 100 ); gm->resize( 300, 300 ); gm->show(); app.exec(); return 0; }

  • What is a good Very-High level UI framework for JavaScript?

    - by Robert Gould
I need to write a temporary Web-based graphical front-end for a custom server system. In this case performance and scalability aren't issues, since at most 10 people may check the system simultaneously. Also it should be PHP or Python (server) & JavaScript (client) (can't use Flex or Silverlight for very specific non-programming related issues). So I know I could use YUI or jQuery, but was wondering if there is something even more high-level that would say allow me to write such a little project within a few hours of work, and get done with it. Basically I want to be as lazy as possible (this is throw-away code anyways) and get the job done in as little time as possible. Any suggestions?

  • Google analytics-style custom report builder UI

    - by gregmac
I'm looking for a reporting engine/UI that can be integrated into a product, which has a UI along the lines of Google Analytics' Custom Reports builder. Is anyone aware of such a thing? The data is in our case is not page views/visitors/etc, but is similar in nature, in that there are limited entities or types of data, but each entity has many attributes/columns and many different ways of aggregating data (or in GA-style speak, metrics and dimensions). The analytics-style UI is very intuitive and allows many reports to be created in powerful ways, without having to know SQL. I have preference for a web-based tool (seeing that it is 2010 and this is a web app -- I mention only because it seems the vast majority of reporting tools still have only a non-web-based creation tool).

  • How should I use color in my application? Single, Theme, or Chaos?

    - by CodeSlave
How should I be using color in my application? I have over a 100 different forms (windows) in my application, and the default windows grey seems like a bad choice to me. One school of thought says pick one neutral color, and use the same one everywhere. Another school of thought says pick a set of neutral colors, and use them same ones within a group of form (e.g., shipping screens might be light green, receiving screens light orange, user administration screens light blue, etc.). The final school of thought says make every form different. We've got millions of colors, why not use them? What should I do and why?

  • Is it possible to provide a resize indication (resizer-grip) on a form without adding a status bar?

    - by Marek
I would like to have a resize indication on a windows forms Form (the same resize-grip as when you have a status bar). I do not want to add a status bar to the form - that would break the design of the form. The form can have various controls inside that are docked (Fill). I have not found any solution to this besides drawing the resize indication in lower right corner of every control, which is not very feasible. Is this possible without adding a picture of the resize grip to every control that can be docked in the form?

  • QApplication In Non-Main Thread

    - by Boatzart
I need to exec() a QApplication in a thread that is not main (my GUIs must be plugins that can be dynamically loaded and unloaded at runtime, so I have no access to the main thread). Does anyone know of a (relatively) painless way to hack around Qt's restriction against starting QApplication outside of main? I'm developing in Linux with Qt4 in C++ using gcc4.3.4.

  • Recognition source of event in PyQT

    - by xTrol
Hi, I`m starting with PyQt4 and right now I have a problem with events. I have one main class let say MainWindow. MainWindow has a list of buttons of type ButtonX (inherence form QPushButton). I would like to achieve one of 2 solutions (depends which is easier). 1) After click one of the button from the list I would like to run a one method of MainWindow. I would like to be able to read a source of event there (recognize clicked button) 2) Second solution is to run a method defined in ButtonX class. What I tried is: QtCore.QObject.connect(self.getButton(0, 0), QtCore.SIGNAL("clicked()"), self.getButton(0, 0).buttonMethod()) QtCore.QObject.connect(self.getButton(0, 0), QtCore.SIGNAL("clicked()"), self.getButton(0, 0), QtCore.SLOT("incrementValue()")) and even this line occure suspend Python interpreter QtCore.QObject.connect(self.getButton(0, 0), QtCore.SIGNAL("clicked()"), self.getButton(0, 0), QtCore.SLOT("incrementValue"))
