  • sendmail on ubuntu (9.10) machine "stopped" sending mail

    - by Doron
I'm developing on my ubuntu 9.10 machine for the web (php). I'm using it sendmail for sending mails, and while developing on my local machine, I send local mails (to my user 'doron'). Up until a few days ago, I was able to send mails both from php's mail() function, and from the command line using the mail command. I'm using sendmail with mailutils. Since the last few days, it seems like it stopped working. When I try to send mail from the command line, I get the following in my syslog (and mail.info, and mail.log): Mar 3 13:27:58 doron-desktop sendmail[4693]: o23BRwlA004693: from=doron, size=84, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<201003031127.o23BRwlA004693@doron-desktop.>, relay=doron@localhost Mar 3 13:27:58 doron-desktop sm-mta[4694]: o23BRwtQ004694: ruleset=check_rcpt, arg1=<doron@doron-desktop>, relay=localhost [127.0.0.1], reject=553 5.1.8 <doron@doron-desktop>... • Checking if date parsing is correct

    - by Javi
Hello, I have this code for checking whether the Date is OK or not, but it's not ckecking all the cases. For example when text="03/13/2009" as this date doesn't exist in the format "dd/MM/yyyy" it parses the date as 03/01/2010. Is there any way to change this behaviour and getting an exception when I try to parse a Date which is not correct? What's the best way to do this validation? public static final String DATE_PATTERN = "dd/MM/yyyy"; public static boolean isDate(String text){ SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat(DATE_PATTERN); ParsePosition position = new ParsePosition(0); formatter.parse(text, position); if(position.getIndex() != text.length()){ return false; }else{ return true; } } Thanks.

  • Context free grammer

    - by Evil
Hello. I have this problem where i need to convert the following CFG to CFG in CNF. S- ABa A- aab B- Ac I know the steps are as follows. 1) Remove epsilon transitions - Done 2) remove unit productions 3) convert to CNF by: 3.1] introduce a new non terminal for each term 3.2] replace terminals in the productions rules with the new nonterminal 3.3] introduce new nonterminals to reduce the length of the right side of each production i'm a bit confused on how i would do that with the problem above. Mostly i am confused on step 2 and unit productions. If i could get some help or perhaps a link to a good tutorial that would be most helpful.

  • Apache SSL configuration testing

    - by jldugger
When I run configtest on our Apache server, I get the following: `Syntax error on line 1023 of /www/conf/httpd.conf: Invalid command 'SSLEnable', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration` I know this part of the configuration works. Is there a trick to make configtest mod_ssl aware?

  • Strange HtmlUnit behavior (bug?)

    - by roddik
Hello. Take a look at this: WebClient client = new WebClient(); WebRequestSettings wrs = new WebRequestSettings(new URL("http://stackoverflow.com/ping/?what-the-duck?"), HttpMethod.HEAD); client.getPage(wrs); Running this code results in throwing FileNotFoundException, because HTTP Status code on the page is 404 and getting the same page again with the GET method, with User-Agent set to Java-.... Why does it GET the page (it doesn't happen with "normal" status codes)? Is this a bug? Thanks Here is the entire server response: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found Cache-Control: private Content-Length: 7502 Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8 Server: Microsoft-IIS/7.5 Date: Thu, 11 Feb 2010 14:12:11 GMT Where does it tell client to GET something? And how can I force WebClient to ignore it? Here's a screenshot of HTTPDebugger: The problem here is I don't understand why the second request is being sent and why is it sent with different useragent.

  • Overlay of multiple colors in ImageJ

    - by nico
Hi everyone, I'm writing a little plugin for imageJ and I am drawing several regions as an overlay on the image. I'm using this code: ImagePlus imp = getImage(); Overlay ov = new Overlay(); for (int r=0; r<regions.length; r++) { ov.add(regions[r]); } imp.setOverlay(ov); Where regions is an array of Roi. This works as intended and draws the regions in the (hurting to my eyes) standard ImageJ cyan used for overlays. I would like to draw one particular region in another colour, but I cannot seem to find a way to do it. I found that you can change the colour of the whole overlay, but I need two colours in the same overlay. Any ideas? Thanks in advance nico

  • how can I check my rsa passphrase?

    - by joachim
I think I've forgotten my RSA passphrase again. Is there a way to have my local command line prompt me for it so I can check if I at least what I remember it as is correct, so I don't needlessly change it? Next time I'm writing it on a post-it ;)

  • Efficiently check string for one of several hundred possible suffixes

    - by Ghostrider
I need to write a C/C++ function that would quickly check if string ends with one of ~1000 predefined suffixes. Specifically the string is a hostname and I need to check if it belongs to one of several hundred predefined second-level domains. This function will be called a lot so it needs to be written as efficiently as possible. Bitwise hacks etc anything goes as long as it turns out fast. Set of suffixes is predetermined at compile-time and doesn't change. I am thinking of either implementing a variation of Rabin-Karp or write a tool that would generate a function with nested ifs and switches that would be custom tailored to specific set of suffixes. Since the application in question is 64-bit to speed up comparisons I could store suffixes of up to 8 bytes in length as const sorted array and do binary search within it. Are there any other reasonable options?

  • Automatic camera calibration

    - by srand
From Wikipedia, camera resectioning is the process of finding the true parameters of the camera that produced a given photograph or video. Camera resectioning is also known as geometric camera calibration. Currently I am using Camera Calibration Toolbox for Matlab for my camera calibration. The toolbox returns calibration parameters such as focal length, principle point, skew, and distortion. However, the issue with this method is that it requires an extra step in calibrating the camera by using a special calibration object like a checkerboard. Additionally, it only works for one focus of the camera. How can I get the calibration parameters without manually calibrating? For example, how does Microsoft's Photosynth perform camera calibration on its images?

  • How to check if Emacs is in GUI mode (and execute `tool-bar-mode` only then)?

    - by dehmann
I have this line in my .emacs file: (tool-bar-mode 0) because I hate the toolbars in my GUI emacs (/Applications/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs). But when I start up my other, text-based emacs in the terminal (/opt/local/bin/emacs) it complains about that command: Symbol's function definition is void: tool-bar-mode How can I add an if condition so that it executes the tool-bar-mode command only when I'm in the GUI emacs? Thanks!

  • Hashes vs Numeric id's

    - by Karan Bhangui
When creating a web application that some how displays the display of a unique identifier for a recurring entity (videos on YouTube, or book section on a site like mine), would it be better to use a uniform length identifier like a hash or the unique key of the item in the database (1, 2, 3, etc). Besides revealing a little, what I think is immaterial, information about the internals of your app, why would using a hash be better than just using the unique id? In short: Which is better to use as a publicly displayed unique identifier - a hash value, or a unique key from the database? Edit: I'm opening up this question again because Dmitriy brought up the good point of not tying down the naming to db specific property. Will this sort of tie down prevent me from optimizing/normalizing the database in the future? The platform uses php/python with ISAM /w MySQL.
