  • could I know which file is altered using fsevent?

    - by Frost Li
I get the directory path from fsevent, such as "/User/Data/" But what I really want is "/User/Data/change.txt" I have read the programming guide, it said typedef void ( *FSEventStreamCallback )( ConstFSEventStreamRef streamRef, void *clientCallBackInfo, size_t numEvents, void *eventPaths, const FSEventStreamEventFlags eventFlags[], const FSEventStreamEventId eventIds[]); eventPaths An array of paths to the directories in which event(s) occurred. is there any method to find out which file is altered? thanks!!!! I have stuck to it for so long..

  • How to test IO code in JUnit?

    - by add
I'm want to test two services: service which builds file name service which writes some data into file provided by 1st service In first i'm building some complex file structure (just for example {user}/{date}/{time}/{generatedId}.bin) In second i'm writing data to the file passed by first service (1st service calls 2nd service) How can I test both services using mocks without making any real IO interractions? Just for example: 1st service: public class DefaultLogService implements LogService { public void log(SomeComplexData data) { serializer.write(new FileOutputStream(buildComplexFileStructure()), data); or serializer.write(buildComplexFileStructure(), data); or serializer.write(new GenericInputEntity(buildComplexFileStructure()), data); } private ComplextDataSerializer serializer; // mocked in tests } 2nd service: public class DefaultComplexDataSerializer implements ComplexDataSerializer { void write(InputStream stream, SomeComplexData data) {...} or void write(File file, SomeCompexData data) {...} or void write(GenericInputEntity entity, SomeComplexData data) {...} } In first case i need to pass FileOutputStream which will create a file (i.e. i can't test 1st service) In second case i need to pass File. What can i do in 2nd service test if I need to test data which will be written to specified file? (i can't test 2nd service) In third case i think i need some generic IO object which will wrap File. Maybe there is some ready-to-use solution for this purpose?

  • Entity Relationship Diagramming

    - by Ben Aston
I'd like to improve my understanding of cardinality constraints in ER diagrams. I have two entities: User Location But, I want the relationship between these two entities to be many-to-many (a user can be in many locations and a location can have many users). To do this I need to introduce an association class UserLocation. Is it correct to say I now have 3 entities? If I were to draw an ER diagam of the above, would I draw in the UserLocation entity, and would the cardinality look like this? User 1 ------ * User Location * ------ 1 Location

  • Percona MySQL 5.5 fails to start

PS it seems like something else apart from apparmor is affecting permissions to access mysql files after i changed data directory to more default one - /var/lib/mysql and "Can't create test file" error is gone, but "'/var/mysql/bin/bin-log.index' not found (Errcode: 13)" is still there PPS so i installed apparmor back and added all folders to mysqld's profile and errors mentioned above are now gone(or mysql doesn't even get to that point now) what i have now is this: /usr/sbin/mysqld: error while loading shared libraries: libpthread.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory banging my head against the wall.

  • Multiple touch problem using UITouch/UIView in iphone

    - by John Qualis
    Hi, I am trying to implement a 2-finger "pinch" and "expand" (or enlarge) on a UIView using iPhone 3G and SDK 3.1.2. I haven't done programmed in UITouch/UIEvent before, so I appreciate any guidance to the problem I am facing. When I touch the screen with 2 fingers I see that sometimes "touchesBegan" gives me only 1 event. I need UITouch event count == 2 to measure the distance between 2 fingers. Hence I have to lift up my fingers and repeat this process again till I get both fingers to be detected. Is there a way around? Can I improve it? The actual resize works correctly once both fingers are detected but this issue seen at the start needs to be resolved. I know SDK 3.2 detects gestures such as pinch but I was wondering how it can be done in 3.1.2? The code is given below. The "OnFingerDown" function gets called randomly even when I put 2 fingers down whereas I want "onTwoFingersDown" to be called each time. Moreover the I get only 1 touch event each time I put my fingers down. I mean if "OnFingerDown" was called twice I could somehow get it to work. Thanks in advance. Appreciate any help. John - (void) touchesBegan: (NSSet*) touches withEvent: (UIEvent*) event { UITouch* touch, *touch1; CGPoint location, location1; if([[event allTouches] count] == 1) { touch=[UI[[event allTouches] allObjects] objectAtIndex:0]; location=[touch locationInView:self]; OnFingerDown(location); } else if([[event allTouches] count] == 2) { touch=[[[event allTouches] allObjects] objectAtIndex:0]; location=[touch locationInView:self]; touch1=[[[event allTouches] allObjects] objectAtIndex:1]; location1=[touch1 locationInView:self]; OnTwoFingersDown(location, location1); } }

  • Python script is exiting with no output and I have no idea why

    - by Adam Tuttle
I'm attempting to debug a Subversion post-commit hook that calls some python scripts. What I've been able to determine so far is that when I run post-commit.bat manually (I've created a wrapper for it to make it easier) everything succeeds, but when SVN runs it one particular step doesn't work. We're using CollabNet SVNServe, which I know from the documentation removes all environment variables. This had caused some problems earlier, but shouldn't be an issue now. Before Subversion calls a hook script, it removes all variables - including $PATH on Unix, and %PATH% on Windows - from the environment. Therefore, your script can only run another program if you spell out that program's absolute name. The relevant portion of post-commit.bat is: echo -------------------------- >> c:\svn-repos\company\hooks\svn2ftp.out.log set SITENAME=staging set SVNPATH=branches/staging/wwwroot/ "C:\Python3\python.exe" C:\svn-repos\company\hooks\svn2ftp.py ^ --svnUser="svnusername" ^ --svnPass="svnpassword" ^ --ftp-user=ftpuser ^ --ftp-password=ftppassword ^ --ftp-remote-dir=/ ^ --access-url=svn://10.0.100.6/company ^ --status-file="C:\svn-repos\company\hooks\svn2ftp-%SITENAME%.dat" ^ --project-directory=%SVNPATH% "staging.company.com" %1 %2 >> c:\svn-repos\company\hooks\svn2ftp.out.log echo -------------------------- >> c:\svn-repos\company\hooks\svn2ftp.out.log When I run post-commit.bat manually, for example: post-commit c:\svn-repos\company 12345, I see output like the following in svn2ftp.out.log: -------------------------- args1: c:\svn-repos\company args0: staging.company.com abspath: c:\svn-repos\company project_dir: branches/staging/wwwroot/ local_repos_path: c:\svn-repos\company getting youngest revision... done, up-to-date -------------------------- However, when I commit something to the repo and it runs automatically, the output is: -------------------------- -------------------------- svn2ftp.py is a bit long, so I apologize but here goes. I'll have some notes/disclaimers about its contents below it. #!/usr/bin/env python """Usage: svn2ftp.py [OPTION...] FTP-HOST REPOS-PATH Upload to FTP-HOST changes committed to the Subversion repository at REPOS-PATH. So there's nothing useful being logged. I'm lost. I've gone way down the rabbit hole on this one, and don't know where to go from here. Any ideas?

  • Strange error coming from ActiveRecord (probably)

    - by artemave
My development environment: Ubuntu 9 Ruby 1.9.1/1.8.7 (rvm) Rails 2.3.5 Mysql 5.0 Apache Passenger Below is the part of the program flow to represent the issue. Request comes: #action def create begin @report = Report.new(params[:report]) ... rescue LocationNotFound => e ... end end Report constructor: class Report attr_accessor :locations def initialize(params = {}) @locations = params[:locations] ? fetch_locations(params[:locations]) : [] end ... end fetch_locations: def fetch_locations(loc_names) Rails.logger.debug "LOC_NAMES: " + loc_names.inspect ls = Location.find(:all, :conditions => [ # line 57 "locations.name in (#{loc_names.map{'?'}.join(',')})", *loc_names ], :include => [:sample_summaries, :samples]) # loc_names will never be empty ... end Location model: class Location < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :sample_summaries has_many :samples, :through => :sample_summaries ... end Now, the first time (after passenger restart) this runs fine and does the job. Most of the consequent times I get the error: Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: LOC_NAMES: ["Moscow, RF", "London, UK"] Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: Location Load (0.0ms) SELECT * FROM `locations` WHERE (locations.name in ('Moscow, RF','London, UK')) Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: SampleSummary Load (0.0ms) SELECT `sample_summaries`.* FROM `sample_summaries` WHERE (`sample_summaries`.location_id IN (1,3)) Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: SampleSummary Columns (0.0ms) SHOW FIELDS FROM `sample_summaries` Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 FATAL: NoMethodError (You have a nil object when you didn't expect it! Any ideas? P.S. I also tried to wrap the query in uncached block, but that didn't change anything. EDIT Here is what SampleSummary model looks like: class SampleSummary < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :samples belongs_to :location ... #validations default_scope :include => :samples, :order => 'rss_ts desc' ... end

  • Where is the node.js file in the stack trace located?

    - by user225189
Obviously, I'm pretty new to node.js. I'm attempting to debug a node.js application and I see node.js in the stack trace. I would like to put some sys.puts calls in there, but I cannot locate the node.js that is being run by my server. Is there a way to tell where node.js is located? Is there an equivalent to Ruby's FILE in node? Thanks, Brian

  • input type text and onKeyDown not working under IE

    - by dygi
Hi there. I am writing a WWW application, it has to run under IE. I have the problem with the code that runs under FF, but i can't get it running under IE. // JS code function test() { if (window.event.keyCpde == 13) window.location.href.ssign("myPage.php"); } I've tried some similar ways around window.location and location.href, also document.location. I've read that IE has problems with that, so i ask for a solution. The goal is, that page reloads after typing in some text into <input type='text' name='item_code' onKeyDown='test()'> and click enter. So the result is similar to pressing submit type button below the text input. Within IE it reloads the same page and nothing happens. In FF it correctly works.

  • Simple .HTACCESS Passing Variables

    - by Willie Murray III
Let's says I have a classifieds site which has a URL structure similar to the one which I have listed below: Ex. http://takarat.com/openclassifieds/?category=iphone&location=tennessee This is what shows up when I click "tennessee" as the location and then click on "iphone" as the category. Now let's say this site has a search box and I wanted a URL which comes up after using this search box to show up as opposed to the previous URL. Let's say that whenever I search for the word "iphone" while WITHIN the iphone CATEGORY the following link shows up: Iphone SEARCH Ex. http://takarat.com/openclassifieds/?s=iphone&category=iphone&location=tennessee Ok, I want THAT iphone SEARCH to come up whenever anyone clicks Tennessee Iphone..How would I do this [by the way, I want this to be dynamic so that I can use the code for different combinations of locations and products etc..I want the code to use the CATEGORY name to conduct the search basically]? I believe that this will involve "Passing varibles" from the original link... I am new to programming so I may have my terminology wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. TURN THIS: takarat.com/openclassifieds/?category=iphone[var 1]&location=tennessee[var2] INTO THIS: takarat.com/openclassifieds/?s=iphone[var 1]&category=iphone[var 1]&location=tennessee[var2]

  • How can I get a dataset to populate from an RDL file?

I have an RDL report file and I would like to somehow "run" the report and get the dataset that would be used to fill the report. What I'm trying to do is get a raw data extract from the data that would be used to fill the report, without actually showing the report to the user. Is this possible?

  • How can I drag and drop a xaml activity to a WF4 rehosted designer?

    - by Louis Rhys
I understand that the WorkflowDesigner can receive a dragged item in several ways, for example: By dragging an item from the toolbox and dropping it on the designer: an empty activity of that type will be inserted on the designer at the drop location. One can also drag an activity from the designer and drop it on another location in the designer, the dragged activity will be inserted at the drop location as well. Is it possible that similar to these two drag and drop mechanism, I can drag a xaml activity to the designer? What I have in mind is this, Let's say you have a ListView containing several xaml files. I want to be able to drag one of the ListView items (ie one of the xaml files), and when I drag it over the designer it will act as if I drag something from the toolbox (except the activity will be supplied from the xaml). I know I can create a runtime Activity from the file by using ActivityXamlServices.Load(filename), and I want this activity to be inserted at the drop location. But how to tell the application to understand this when I drag and drop?

  • maps, iterators, and complex structs - STL errors

    - by Austin Hyde
So, I have two structs: struct coordinate { float x; float y; } struct person { int id; coordinate location; } and a function operating on coordinates: float distance(const coordinate& c1, const coordinate& c2); In my main method, I have the following code: map<int, person> people; // populate people map<int, map<float, int> > distance_map; map<int,person>::iterator it1,it2; for (it1=people.begin(); it1!=people.end(); ++it1) { for (it2=people.begin(); it2!=people.end(); ++it2) { float d = distance(it1->second.location,it2->second.location); distance_map[it1->first][d] = it2->first; } } However, I get the following error upon build: stl_iterator_base_types.h: In instantiation of ‘std::iterator_traits<coordinate>’: stl_iterator_base_types.h:129: error: no type named ‘iterator_category’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:130: error: no type named ‘value_type’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:131: error: no type named ‘difference_type’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:132: error: no type named ‘pointer’ in ‘struct coordinate’ stl_iterator_base_types.h:133: error: no type named ‘reference’ in ‘struct coordinate’ And it blames it on the line: float d = distance(it1->second.location,it2->second.location); Why does the STL complain about my code?

  • Should the rfc1034identifier be removed from the CFBundleIdentifier in plist file?

    - by bobo
In my Xcode project's plist file, I can see the value for the key CFBundleIdentifier is: com.mycompany.${PRODUCT_NAME:rfc1034identifier} Obviously I will have to change com.mycompany to the domain name of my company, but I have no idea whether the rfc1034identifier should be removed so that it becomes: com.mycompany.${PRODUCT_NAME} Google did not help answering my question. Does this rfc1034identifier affect the AppID that I should provide in the iPhone Developer program - Provisioning Portal?

  • Issues with Rails 3.1 API with Query String to Create action on Mac OSX Mountain Lion

    - by hjaved
Hi I've been stuck on this problem for a while and would appreciate your help. I'm writing an API to allow an external source like a Browser Query String or a smartphone to enter some model User info in a form and hit the User create action to write the data to the db. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong with the code below. I've also observed that if I have code like @user = User.new(params[:user]), that this approach only works when a user enters their data within the form. And that if I have code such as @user = User.new( name: params[:name], location: params[:location], password = params[:password], email: params[:email]), that this code ONLY works for a Query string entry, but NOT both Query string AND regular form submission. Why is that and how can I write the code above in the Users Controller Create action, so that it takes care of both situations? URL used: localhost:3000/users/create?name=John&&[email protected]&&password=secret&&location=SanFrancisco&date=06122012 The date is of type string but it doesn't show up in the database. Why? Everything else does. UsersController.rb def create @user = User.new(params[:user]) if @user.save session[:uid] = @user.id redirect_to thanks_path, notice: "Welcome #{@user.name}!" else redirect_to root_path end end New User Form: <%=u.text_field :name, placeholder: "Name"%><br> <%=u.text_field :email, placeholder: "Email"%><br> <%=u.password_field :password, placeholder: "Password"%><br> <%=u.text_field :location, placeholder: "City"%><br> <%=u.text_field :date, placeholder: "Date"%><br> <%if params[:partner_id]%> <%=u.hidden_field :partner_id, value: params[:partner_id]%> <%end%> <button class="btn btn-large btn-primary">Enter</button> I also tried to create a separate method called remotecreate for User creation for something other than a regular web form. I entered remotecreate in the Query string but it didn't work. def remotecreate @user = User.create(name: params[:name], email: params[:email], password: params[:password], location: params[:location], date: params[:date]) if @user.save session[:uid] = @user.id redirect_to thanks_path, notice: "Welcome #{@user.name}" else redirect_to root_path end end Thanks!

Hi, can somebody tell me how it's needed to change the nerdDinner project, that the 'location-search' which is an JSON-Based Ajax call, works like http://www.nerddinner.com/#where=london so that the search-location parameter will be added to the queryString and make the location browsable? Thanks a lot, dan

  • C# XPath Not Finding Anything

    - by ehdv
I'm trying to use XPath to select the items which have a facet with Location values, but currently my attempts even to just select all items fail: The system happily reports that it found 0 items, then returns (instead the nodes should be processed by a foreach loop). I'd appreciate help either making my original query or just getting XPath to work at all. XML <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <Collection Name="My Collection" SchemaVersion="1.0" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/collection/metadata/2009" xmlns:p="http://schemas.microsoft.com/livelabs/pivot/collection/2009" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <FacetCategories> <FacetCategory Name="Current Address" Type="Location"/> <FacetCategory Name="Previous Addresses" Type="Location" /> </FacetCategories> <Items> <Item Id="1" Name="John Doe"> <Facets> <Facet Name="Current Address"> <Location Value="101 America Rd, A Dorm Rm 000, Chapel Hill, NC 27514" /> </Facet> <Facet Name="Previous Addresses"> <Location Value="123 Anywhere Ln, Darien, CT 06820" /> <Location Value="000 Foobar Rd, Cary, NC 27519" /> </Facet> </Facets> </Item> </Items> </Collection> C# public void countItems(string fileName) { XmlDocument document = new XmlDocument(); document.Load(fileName); XmlNode root = document.DocumentElement; XmlNodeList xnl = root.SelectNodes("//Item"); Console.WriteLine(String.Format("Found {0} items" , xnl.Count)); } There's more to the method than this, but since this is all that gets run I'm assuming the problem lies here. Calling root.ChildNodes accurately returns FacetCategories and Items, so I am completely at a loss. Thanks for your help!

  • .NET: understanding web.config in asp.net

    - by mark smith
Hi there, Does anyone know of a good link to explain how to use the web.config...... For example, i am using forms authentication... and i notice there is a system.web and then it closed /system.web and then below configuration there are additional location tags here is an example, if you ntoice there is an authentication mode=forms with authorization i presume this is the ROOT....... It is also self contained within a system.web .... Below this there are more location= with system.web tags.... I have never really understand what i am actually doing.. I have tried checkign the MSDN documentation but still i don't fully understand up.... Can anyone help? If you notice with my example.... everything is stored in 1 web.config... i thought the standard waas create a standard web.config and then create another web.config in the directory where i wish to protect it..??? <configuration> <system.web> <compilation debug="true" strict="false" explicit="true" targetFramework="4.0" /> <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms loginUrl="Login.aspx" defaultUrl="Login.aspx" cookieless="UseCookies" timeout="60"/> </authentication> <authorization> <allow users="*"/> </authorization> </system.web> <location path="Forms"> <system.web> <authorization> <deny users="?"/> <allow users="*"/> </authorization> </system.web> </location> <location path="Forms/Seguridad"> <system.web> <authorization> <allow roles="Administrador"/> <deny users="?"/> </authorization> </system.web> </location>

  • Segment register, IP register and memory addressing issue!

    - by Zia ur Rahman
In the following text I asked two questions and I also described that what I know about these question so that you can understand my thinking. Your precious comments about the below text are required. Below is the Detail of 1ST Question As we know that if we have one mega byte memory then we need 20 bits to address this memory. Another thing is each memory cell has a physical address which is of 20 bits in 1Mb memory. IP register in IAPX88 is of 16 bits. Now my point of view is, we can not access the memory at all by the IP register because the memory need 20 bit address to be addressed but the IP register is of 16 bits. If we have a memory of 64k then IP register can access this memory because this memory needs 16 bits to be addressed. But incase of 1mb memory IP can’t.tell me am i right or not if not why? Suppose physical address of memory is 11000000000000000101 Now how can we access this memory location by 16 bits. Below is the detail of Next Question: My next question is , suppose IP register is pointing to memory location, and the segment register is also pointing to a memory location (start of the segment), the memory is of 1MB, how we can access a memory location by these two 16 bit registers tell me the sequence of steps how the 20 bits addressable memory location is accessed . If your answer is, we take the segment value and we shift it left by 4 bits and then add the IP value into it to get the 20 bits address, then this raises another question that is the address bus (the address bus should be 20 bits wide), the registers both the segment register and the IP register are of 16 bits each , now if address bus is 20 bits wide then this means that the address bus is connected to both these registers. If its not the case then another thing that comes into my mind is that both these registers generate a 20 bit address and there would be a register which can store 20 bits and this register would be connected to both these register and the address bus as well.

  • How can I modify/merge Jinja2 dictionaries?

I have a Jinja2 dictionary and I want a single expression that modifies it - either by changing its content, or merging with another dictionary. >>> import jinja2 >>> e = jinja2.Environment() Modify a dict: Fails. >>> e.from_string("{{ x[4]=5 }}").render({'x':{1:2,2:3}}) Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "jinja2/environment.py", line 743, in from_string return cls.from_code(self, self.compile(source), globals, None) File "jinja2/environment.py", line 469, in compile self.handle_exception(exc_info, source_hint=source) File "<unknown>", line 1, in template jinja2.exceptions.TemplateSyntaxError: expected token 'end of print statement', got '=' Two-stage update: Prints superfluous "None". >>> e.from_string("{{ x.update({4:5}) }} {{ x }}").render({'x':{1:2,2:3}}) u'None {1: 2, 2: 3, 4: 5}' >>> e.from_string("{{ dict(x.items()+ {3:4}.items()) }}").render({'x':{1:2,2:3}}) Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "jinja2/environment.py", line 868, in render return self.environment.handle_exception(exc_info, True) File "<template>", line 1, in top-level template code TypeError: <lambda>() takes exactly 0 arguments (1 given) Use dict(x,**y): Fails. >>> e.from_string("{{ dict((3,4), **x) }}").render({'x':{1:2,2:3}}) Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "jinja2/environment.py", line 868, in render return self.environment.handle_exception(exc_info, True) File "<template>", line 1, in top-level template code TypeError: call() keywords must be strings So how does one modify the dictionary x in Jinja2 by changing an attribute or merging with another dictionary? This question is similar to: How can I merge two Python dictionaries as a single expression? -- insofar as Jinja2 and Python are analogous.

  • Coherent access to mainframe files from Win32 application and IBM RDZ/Eclipse?

    - by Ira Baxter
I have a suite of tools for processing IBM COBOL source code; these tools are built as Win32 applications and talk to Windows (including network) files using traditional Windows file system calls (open, close, read, write) and work just fine, thank you. I'd like to integrate these with Eclipse; we understand how to get Eclipse to do UI for us we think. The problem is that Eclipse/RDZ users access mainframe files through some IBM magic. In How does RDZ access mainframe files I tried to understand how Eclipse accessed files on a mainframe. Apparantly Eclipse/RDZ has a secret filesystem access backdoor not available to normal mortals. At issue is how our tools, reading some Windows-accessible file (local disk file, NFS to mainframe, ...) can associate such files with the files that Eclipse can access or is using? Ideally we'd like UI-integrated versions of our tools take an Eclipse file-name string for a mainframe file, pass it to our Windows application to process, have the Windows application open/read/process the file, and return results associated with that file to the Eclipse UI. Is there a canonical file name path that would be used with mainframe NFS that would be equivalent to the name or access object the Eclipse RDZ used to access the same file? Are all operations doable internally by Eclipse, doable by the mainframe NFS [for instance, can NFS read/update an element in a partitioned data set? Can Eclipse RDZ? Does it matter?] Is the mainframe file access available to custom Java code running under Eclipse RDZ (e.g., equivalents of open/close/read/write based on filename/path/something?) If so, can somebody steer me towards documentation describing the access methods? Anybody else already solve this problem or have a good suggestion?

  • Shared Server Dreamhost

I am trying to install an app on a shared server. If i understand properly because i am using a shared server, and that Dreamhost doesn't suppose rails 3.2.8 I must use FCGI, although i am not sure how to install and to make it run properly. From this tutorial http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Rails_3. To my understand here what I did, In dreamhost, activate PHP 5.x.x FastCGI and made sure Phusion Passenger is unchecked Create an app on my localmachine Because rails doesn't create a dispatch and access file i create the two following file in my /public folder dispatch.fcgi #!/home/username/.rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.3-p327/bin/ruby ENV['RAILS_ENV'] ||= 'production' ENV['HOME'] ||= `echo ~`.strip ENV['GEM_HOME'] = File.expand_path('~/.rvm/gems/ruby 1.9.3-p327') ENV['GEM_PATH'] = File.expand_path('~/.rvm/gems/ruby 1.9.3-p327') + ":" + File.expand_path('~/.rvm/gems/ruby 1.9.3-p327@global') require 'fcgi' require File.join(File.dirname(__FILE__), '../config/environment') class Rack::PathInfoRewriter def initialize(app) @app = app end def call(env) env.delete('SCRIPT_NAME') parts = env['REQUEST_URI'].split('?') env['PATH_INFO'] = parts[0] env['QUERY_STRING'] = parts[1].to_s @app.call(env) end end Then created the file .htaccess <IfModule mod_fastcgi.c> AddHandler fastcgi-script .fcgi </IfModule> <IfModule mod_fcgid.c> AddHandler fcgid-script .fcgi </IfModule> Options +FollowSymLinks +ExecCGI RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ dispatch.fcgi/$1 [QSA,L] ErrorDocument 500 "Rails application failed to start properly" Uploaded to a folder and pointed to the public folder in dreamhost Made sure dispatch.fcgi has 777 for write ssh and run the following command in the public folder : ./dispatch.fcgi Crossing my finger but it doesn't work I get the following errors ./dispatch.fcgi: line 1: ENV[RAILS_ENV]: command not found ./dispatch.fcgi: line 1: =: command not found ./dispatch.fcgi: line 2: ENV[HOME]: command not found ./dispatch.fcgi: line 2: =: command not found ./dispatch.fcgi: line 3: syntax error near unexpected token (' ./dispatch.fcgi: line 3:ENV['GEM_HOME'] = File.expand_path('~/.rvm/gems/ruby 1.9.3-p327')' Doing wrong??? • BITS client fails to specify HTTP Range header

    - by user256890
Our system is designed to deploy to regions with unreliable and/or insufficient network connections. We build our own fault tolerating data replication services that uses BITS. Due to some security and maintenance requirements, we implemented our own ASP.NET file download service on the server side, instead of just letting IIS serving up the files. When BITS client makes an HTTP download request with the specified range of the file, our ASP.NET page pulls the demanded file segment into memory and serve that up as the HTTP response. That is the theory. ;) This theory fails in artificial lab scenarios but I would not let the system deploy in real life scenarios unless we can overcome that. Lab scenario: I have BITS client and the IIS on the same developer machine, so practically I have enormous network "bandwidth" and BITS is intelligent enough to detect that. As BITS client discovers the unlimited bandwidth, it gets more and more "greedy". At each HTTP request, BITS wants to grasp greater and greater file ranges (we are talking about downloading CD iso files, videos), demanding 20-40MB inside a single HTTP request, a size that I am not comfortable to pull into memory on the server side as one go. I can overcome that simply by giving less than demanded. It is OK. However, BITS gets really "confident" and "arrogant" demanding files WITHOUT specifying the download range, i.e., it wants the entire file in a single request, and this is where things go wrong. I do not know how to answer that response in the case of a 600MB file. If I just provide the starting 1MB range of the file, BITS client keeps sending HTTP requests for the same file without download range to continue, it hammers its point that it wants the entire file in one go. Since I am reluctant to provide the entire file, BITS gives up after several trials and reports error. Any thoughts?
