  • What does the email header "X-CAA-SPAM" refer to?

    - by lotri
I've got an application that sends out notification emails to users of the application (this is not spam; the information in these emails is solicited and useful, and is also a feature turned off by default and must be enabled by the user). The app is still in beta, and one of our testers reports that the notification emails are going to his junk mail folder in Outlook 2003. This is the only reported case of this, but I asked him to send me the email headers from the message, and I noticed that there is a header there labeled "X-CAA-SPAM" with a value of 00000 . I'm a programmer, so I'm fairly green in the world of successful automated emails - does anyone know if this header is the culprit? If not, any suggestions?

  • unity top menu keyboard shortcuts for desktop alone, no programs running

    - by user108754
Alt+F1 accesses the launcher menu, with arrow keys to navigate the list (side menu). Alt+F10 accesses the top bar in an open application (or Alt+an underlined menu item letter), which allows access to the global ubuntu settings in the top right (battery, wifi/networking, audio, time/calendar, user, power). Alt+F10, when no application is open and you're just staring at the desktop, accesses those ubuntu settings immediately. But the top menu bar does list, in the top left, menu commands for the desktop per se (create new folder, go home, help, start server, etc). These can be accessed only by mouse hovering and click. No way to get to them only by keyboard (arrow keys just cycle through the settings, don't jump over to the left side of the top bar). Is there a keyboard shortcut way to access the desktop menu bar for manipulating icons on your desktop and other general things? Or is this a work in progress for unity? If you use the context menu key (or some equivalent you've set to generate that signal) along with other shortcuts for working on the desktop, you can cover most of the functionality of the top menu bar. However, I don't want to memorize those keys to become proficient. I just want a way to open and browse through those menu items (and they aren't ALL available through hotkeys anyway).

  • Apache - Include conf Files Relative to ServerConfigFile (-f arg)

    - by Synetech inc.
Hi, I want to use the -f command-line option for the Apache server so that I can store the conf files in a separate place (a data diectory) from the server binaries. The problem is that I use the Include directive to separate and organize the configurations, but when I use a command like Include "addons/SVN.conf", it fails because Apache looks for addons/SVN.conf in relative to the ServerRoot directory instead of the ServerConfigFile directory. I can work around this by using absolute paths (eg Include "e:\foo\bar\baz\Apache\conf\addons\svn.conf", but I don’t like that since it means I would have to change each and every Include directive if I move the conf folder as opposed to simply changing the -f option. Does anyone know of a way to get the Include directive to work relative to the conf file that Apache is passed. I tried Include "./addons/SVN.conf", but that too was relative to the ServerRoot. This forced relative-to-ServerRoot Include behavior kind of defeats the whole purpose of specifying an alternate config file to the one in ServerRoot/conf. Thanks.

  • External Hardrive Not Reconized on Windows 7 at all

    - by Bella
I Have a NextStar 2/5" from Vantec and its an 80G HD. I have used it many times on windows xp and it works fine. We just recently upgraded to windows 7 home premium and when I plug it in it beeps many times. I've tried all the USB plugs in my computer and its not those plugs. Haven't tried eSata because it uses a weird cable to plug into. People told me that when it beeps everything is corrupted, but works fine on xp. I tried installing the drivers online from their website and when I try it asks me to put in a cd which makes no sense because they are online drivers. When I go into device manager nothing comes up, it just acts like the HD is invisible. The beeping will stop eventually as it is plugged in, but with no result.

  • The Best Websites for Downloading and Playing Classic and New Text Adventure Games

    - by Lori Kaufman
Before computers could handle graphical games, there were text adventure games. The games are interactive stories, so playing a text adventure game is like being part of a book in which you affect the story. Text adventure games are also referred to as “interactive fiction.” Interactive Fiction (IF) is actually a more accurate term for text adventure games, because these games can cover any topics, such as romances or comedies, not just adventures. They can also simulate real life. Even though computers can now handle intensely graphical games, playing text adventure games can still be fun. It’s like reading a good book and getting lost in the universe of the story, except you become the hero or heroine and affect the ending of the story. We’ve collected some links to websites where you can download classic and new text adventure games or play them online. There are also some free tools available for creating your own text adventure games. We even found a documentary about the evolution of computer adventure games and some articles about the art and craft of developing the original text adventure games. • Problems with mounting .ISO files

    - by user89599
I'm using Precise, with GNOME. I've attempted to install some retro, multi-cd games (KOTOR1) via .ISO images and WINE, but I can't get the ISO's to mount correctly. First I tried GMountISO, which showed a read-only warning but worked - until I went to unmount. When the installation program asked for CD 2 I couldn't unmount from the /cdrom folder because neither GMountISO or umount from terminal could detect the mount. After a reboot, I changed to GISOMount (different somehow, I guess?), but when I attempt to mount the ISO I get an error window explaining the syntax of the mount command and, which is also what I get when I attempt to use mount from terminal. After checking /media from terminal on a lark I see the disc mounted there twice over, but umount won't recognize it, even when I specify the full path sudo umount /media/KOTOR_1.iso. It cleared up upon reboot. Can someone please assist? UPDATE :: Thanks for the quick response. What's weird, is the images are like stuck in limbo... • IIS7 FTP Setup - An error occured during the authentication process. 530 End Login failed

    - by robmzd
I'm having a problem very similar to IIS 7.5 FTP IIS Manager Users Login Fail (530) on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. I have created an FTP site and IIS Manager user but am having trouble logging in. I could really do with getting this working with the IIS Manager user rather than by creating a new system user since I'm fairly restricted with those accounts. Here is the output when connecting locally through command prompt: C:\Windows\system32>ftp localhost Connected to MYSERVER. 220 Microsoft FTP Service User (MYSERVER:(none)): MyFtpLogin 331 Password required for MyFtpLogin. Password: *** 530-User cannot log in. Win32 error: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. Error details: An error occured during the authentication process. 530 End Login failed. I have followed the guide to configure ftp with iis manager authentication in iis 7 and Adding FTP Publishing to a Web Site in IIS 7 Things I have done and checked: The FTP Service is installed (along with FTP Extensibility). Local Service and Network Service have been given access to the site folder Permission has been given to the config files Granted read/write permissions to the FTP Root folder The Management Service is installed and running Enable remote connections is ticked with 'Windows credentials or IIS manager credentials' selected The IIS Manager User has been added to the server (root connection in the IIS connections branch) The new FTP site has been added IIS Manager Authentication has been added to the FTP authentication providers The IIS Manager user has been added to the IIS Manager Permissions list for the site Added Read/Write permissions for the user in the FTP Authorization Rules Here's a section of the applicationHost config file associated with the FTP site <site name="MySite" id="8"> <application path="/" applicationPool="MyAppPool"> <virtualDirectory path="/" physicalPath="D:\Websites\MySite" /> </application> <bindings> <binding protocol="http" bindingInformation="*:80:www.mydomain.co.uk" /> <binding protocol="ftp" bindingInformation="*:21:www.mydomain.co.uk" /> </bindings> <ftpServer> <security> <ssl controlChannelPolicy="SslAllow" dataChannelPolicy="SslAllow" /> <authentication> <basicAuthentication enabled="true" /> <customAuthentication> <providers> <add name="IisManagerAuth" enabled="true" /> </providers> </customAuthentication> </authentication> </security> </ftpServer> </site> ... <location path="MySite"> <system.ftpServer> <security> <authorization> <add accessType="Allow" users="MyFtpLogin" permissions="Read, Write" /> </authorization> </security> </system.ftpServer> </location> If I connect to the Site (not FTP) from my local IIS Manager using the same IIS Manager account details then it connects fine, I can browse files and change settings as I would locally (though I don't seem to have an option to upload files). • Windows 7 homegroup sharing problem

    - by Steve Crane
I have two machines in a homegroup. My desktop and my wife's laptop. The public folders like pictures, videos, etc. are shared fine. But if I try to share a single folder with the homegroup from the laptop, I don't see it on my desktop. I see suggestions of rebooting, leaving and rejoining the homegroup; even recreating the homegroup. Frankly, that's just ridiculous. If those are the only solutions then the feature is just not working as it should. Is it possible I'm experiencing these problems because I am still running the public beta of WIndows 7 (yeah I know, I need to get over my laziness and reinstall) while my wife is running the release version? Are there solutions to this problem that don't involve the somewhat drastic measures mentioned above?

  • OSX 10.6 Give Apache2 read&write access to mounted windows share

    - by JohEngstrom
On Mac OS X Snow Leopard I'm trying to give the apache2 user _www full rights to a mounted hidden windows server share. I've used Connect to Server with smb://servername/share$ and saved the username/password in the keychain. The domain username used for the mount got full rights to the share on the windows server. It all works this far. I can browse and edit the files in the share from the Mac. However I can't find a way to give the apache2 user _www rights to write to the mounted share. I have a perl script that is supposed to create a file in the mounted folder but only get permission denied. I've tried all kinds of chmod and chown but it doesn't change the permissions of the share. Does anyone know how this can be done please?

  • using sed to print next line after match

    - by smokinguns
I came across various examples on printing next line after a match, that use awk and sed. I'm using it in my code and it works fine. Now I want to use a variable instead of a hardcoded value for the pattern match. The search pattern string includes forward slashes "/". How do I use a variable that has "/" in it and use it to print the next line after the match? The following doesn't seem to work: var="/somePath/to/my/home" val=`echo -e "$someStr" | sed -n ':$var:{n;p;}'` In this case, val is always blank. I'm using using ":" as the delimiter instead of "/". I'm on a Mac OS X.

  • How To Start NX/VNC Session At Ubuntu Boot Time?

    - by darkAsPitch
I want an NX or VNC session to start automatically when an Ubuntu server boots up - without a monitor connected - loading a certain user's desktop and keeping it loaded and ready until I log in via NX or VNC. How would one accomplish that? This code works via my terminal when I am logged in as the NX user, but not via root, and not in the init.d folder. No idea why? /usr/NX/bin/nxclient --session /home/user/.nx/config/SavedSession.nxs Please provide somewhat simplified instructions! I am certified linux newb.

  • Are there any problems migrating users from OSX 10.4.11 server to 10.6.6. server using WGM?

    - by Geoff Hardman
I have just set up a new Mac server running 10.6.6. Installation went smoothly and all appears ok. Can create a new user through WGM and logon to the server from one of our local client systems. Imported the old users from the 10.4 system using WGM but the new system will not create home directories for these users and will not let them log on. I have read that there are issues using this method but can not find any detail as to why. Not wishing to recreate over 350 users from scratch I am looking for an easier solution. Can anyone help? The new server is 10.6.6. We use Open Directory and AFP. The paths are the same as the old server.

  • Mac Mini monitor on the move – can I use VNC or a portable monitor?

    - by Jjunju
I have been investigating the possibility of using my PC to control my soon to arrive Mac Mini when on the move. I can't afford and hope you don't give me answers suggesting buying a MacBook. My Mac Mini is the high end type. Now I have seen that the only viable option seems to be VNC. But how does this work if I am not on a network? Does VNC work with an ad-hoc network? Can a PC be connected to a Mac on such a network? Can this network be configured once at home and then be available on startup on the move? If I have an iPhone, can I use it as my wifi? But then, how would I start the Mac Mini to make the connection, since it wouldn't have a screen on the move? Finally, are there any small portable screens one can carry in a bag?

  • Unity scaling instantiated GameObject at Start() doesn't "keep"

    - by Shivan Dragon
I have a very simple scenario: A box-like Prefab which is imported from Blender automatically (I have the .blend file in the Assets folder). A script that has two public GameObject fields. In one I place the above prefab, and in the other I place a terrain object (which I've created in Unity's graphical view): public Collider terrain; public GameObject aStarCellHighlightPrefab; This script is attached to the camera. The idea is to have the Blender prefab instantiated, have the terrain set as its parent, and then scale said prefab instance up. I first did it like this, in the Start() method: void Start () { cursorPositionOnTerrain = new RaycastHit(); aStarCellHighlight = (GameObject)Instantiate(aStarCellHighlightPrefab, new Vector3(300,300,300), terrain.transform.rotation); aStarCellHighlight.name = "cellHighlight"; aStarCellHighlight.transform.parent = terrain.transform; aStarCellHighlight.transform.localScale = new Vector3(100,100,100); } and first thought it didn't work. However later I noticed that it did in fact work, in the sense where the scale was applied right at the start, but then right after the prefab instance came back to its initial scale. Putting the scale code in the Update() methods fixes it in the sense where now it stays scaled all the time: void Update () { aStarCellHighlight.transform.localScale = new Vector3(100,100,100); //... } However I've noticed that when I run this code, the object is first displayed without the scale being applied, and it takes about 5-10 seconds for the scale to happen. During this time everything works fine (like input and logging, etc). The scene is very simple, it's not like it has a lot of stuff to load or anything (there's a Ray cast from the camera on to the terrain, but that seems to happen without such delays). My (2 part) question is: Why doesn't it take the scale transform when I do it at the beginning in the Start() method. Why do I have to keep scaling it in the Update() method? Why does it take so long for the scale to "apply/show up".

  • Assign two static IP addresses to one mac address

    - by Timo Ylikännö
Can Isc-dhcp-server give two static ip addresses to one mac address? I have several home terminals in my network. Each terminal have two interfaces. One for public traffic and one for a management traffic. Both interfaces have same mac address. DHCP server can detect interfaces via dhcp option field and dhcp class declarations. Every terminal have to have static ip address instead of dynamic address. With dynamic address and dynamic pools this would be an easy task. Or is there any dhcp server that can do this?

When I'm at home (which is the vast majority of the time now in Summer), I rarely use my laptop away from my desk. When it is at the desk, I plug in a monitor through HDMI, a power cable, and a mouse and keyboard that always stay there. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to a good dock or product that does a good job of transforming a laptop into a true "desktop replacement." Ideally, it would allow all the connections to remain in place, with minimal effort to take the laptop in and out of the fixture. Thanks for any suggestions!

  • Firefox on wine crashes on startup on Ubuntu

    - by Iam Zesh
First, let's explain why I want Firefox under wine, and not the Firefox that is shipped out of the box with Ubuntu. I want to use Firefox under wine because I want to use the Widevine addon, which is "at this time not available for linux". Here is what I did so far to install and use Firefox on wine. On Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, I just installed wine like that: sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install wine Then I downloaded the windows installer for Firefox from the mozilla website. I ran the Firefox Setup 25.0.exe file with wine but at the end of the install process when launching Firefox, I got a window notifying me that the program at crashed. I ran Firefox from the command line with wine, to get an idea of what could have went wrong: wine /home/myUser/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Mozilla\ Firefox/firefox.exe fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation (nil) 1 (nil) 0 fixme:process:SetProcessDEPPolicy (1): stub fixme:iphlpapi:NotifyAddrChange (Handle 0x368e8fc, overlapped 0x368e8e0): stub fixme:winsock:WSCGetProviderPath ({e70f1aa0-ab8b-11cf-8ca3-00805f48a192} 0x44fe6f8 0x44fe6b8 0x44fe6e4) Stub! fixme:advapi:RegisterTraceGuidsW (0x1b0e290, 0x39ead80, {509962e0-406b-46f4-99ba-5a009f8d2225}, 3, 0x3974d00, (null), (null), 0x39eadb0,): stub fixme:winsock:WSCGetProviderPath ({e70f1aa0-ab8b-11cf-8ca3-00805f48a192} 0x44fe6f8 0x44fe6b8 0x44fe6e4) Stub! fixme:winsock:WSCGetProviderPath ({11058240-be47-11cf-95c8-00805f48a192} 0x44fe6f8 0x44fe6b8 0x44fe6e4) Stub! fixme:winsock:WSCGetProviderPath ({11058241-be47-11cf-95c8-00805f48a192} 0x44fe6f8 0x44fe6b8 0x44fe6e4) Stub! fixme:winsock:WSCGetProviderPath ({11058241-be47-11cf-95c8-00805f48a192} 0x44fe6f8 0x44fe6b8 0x44fe6e4) Stub! fixme:ntdll:NtLockFile I/O completion on lock not implemented yet fixme:advapi:SetNamedSecurityInfoW L"C:\\users\\myUser\\Application Data\\Mozilla\\Firefox\\Profiles\\cn4oy6kh.default\\extensions.ini" 1 536870916 (nil) (nil) 0x13d40c (nil) fixme:imm:ImmReleaseContext (0x20022, 0x13e850): stub fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32ee18,0x00000000), stub! fixme:shell:ApplicationAssociationRegistration_QueryCurrentDefault (0x143b50)->(L"webcal", 1, 1, 0x32c7a0) fixme:shell:ApplicationAssociationRegistration_QueryCurrentDefault (0x143b50)->(L"ircs", 1, 1, 0x32c7a0) fixme:shell:ApplicationAssociationRegistration_QueryCurrentDefault (0x143b50)->(L"mailto", 1, 1, 0x32c7a0) fixme:shell:ApplicationAssociationRegistration_QueryCurrentDefault (0x143b50)->(L"irc", 1, 1, 0x32c7a0) fixme:alsa:AudioSessionControl_SetGroupingParam (0x153050)->({7b0a93ee-05e7-4576-9cc5-64fdf201f303}, (null)) - stub fixme:alsa:AudioSessionControl_SetGroupingParam (0x153050)->({00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}, (null)) - stub fixme:alsa:AudioSessionControl_UnregisterAudioSessionNotification (0x153050)->(0x6311880) - stub wine: Call from 0x7b839cf2 to unimplemented function dwmapi.dll.DwmGetCompositionTimingInfo, aborting fixme:dbghelp:elf_search_auxv can't find symbol in module Unfortunately I don't know what to do from there on...

  • Eclipse Pydev Ctrl-Click (Go to Definition) Doesn't Work OSX

    - by Koobz
My Pydev set up in OS X is kind of busted. I'm working on a Django project and I find that Ctrl-Click never actually goes to the definitions of any of my objects or functions. I actually have a symlink to Django/django in my workspace so that it's easier to cross reference Django code. My guess is that something is wrong with the builder, but it doesn't throw up any errors. Does anyone have advice here? Different topic: does anyone know of a good way to use Ctrl-Shift-R (Open resource) and filter files by folder? It's not that useful in python projects where you have 20 urls.py showing up.
