I will build a system where I want to reduce single-point-of-failures, and I need a database. Is there any (free) relational database systems that can handle multi-master setups good (i.e where it is easy to add and remove nodes) or is it better to go with a NoSQL-database?
As what I have understood, a key-value store will handle this better. What database system do you recommend for a multi-master (cluster) setup?
Hi
I am using Bugzilla and I was wondering if there is a way to create a ticket by sending an email to an account.
I looked around and I found that at some point there was a contrib/bug_email.pl, (that I think it did this) but its not there anymore on version 3.6 .
Thanks
Is there any easy way to query a stored procedure (Oracle - PL/SQL) for what parameters it expects?
I know that I can query USER_SOURCE to get the whole procedure but I'd then have to parse the whole procedure, and if the parameter is of type [table].[column]%TYPE I'd then have to query the table schema as well.
Either using just sql or via ODP.Net.
I'm using a sqlite db which is very convenient and seems to meet all of my needs at this point.
Currently my db size is <50MB, but I now need to add a new table which will store large text blobs, which will cause the db to reach up to 5GB within the next year.
Would sqlite be able to deal with a 5GB db size? Any caveats to that, compared with say mysql?
Is there a way to resize a control, a JTextfield for example, at runtime in java? I want my textfield to have the resize cursors (just like when you point your cursor on the corner of a window) and will be able to resize on runtime. Ive read on the internet that vb6 and C# have those capabilities, is there anything for java? A sample code or a link to a good tutorial will be very much appreciated. Thank you.
I'd like to build a web app based on a zooming principle (ZUI)
I'm looking for a framework or a starting point.

Long story short: I want to add the --core-library flag at compile time to include a library that depends on some javax libraries that aren't included in the android platform. I have attempted the walkthrough here: http://commons.apache.org/scxml/usecases/scxml-stopwatch-on-android.html but nothing ever changed on the emulator.
I don't think I can repackage the libraries I'm after because I cannot amend the callers to call the new packages without violating a license agreement.
Please, someone, point me in the right direction.
Hi,
Can I use Linq-to-xml to persist my object state without having to use/know Xpath & XSD Syntax?
ie. really looking for simple but flexible way to persist a graph of object data (e.g. have say 2 or 3 classes with associations) - if Linq-to-xml were as simple as saying "persist this graph to XML", and then you could also query it via Linq, or load it into memory again/change/then re-save to the xml file.
I am using the Jquery form plugin to submit the form via ajax. I have set up validations on the server side in my models. Now when the validation fails i want to display the same flash[:error] message to the user using ajax. If the validation succeeds I can display the flash[:notice] as it is available after the request is completed. How do i go about displaying flash[:error]?
My ViewModel:
class ViewModel
{
public string FileName {get;set;}
}
and in my View I bind a label's content to ViewModel's FileName.
now When I do drag-drop a file to my View, How can I update the label's Content property, so that the ViewMode's FileName also get updated via binding?
Directly set the label's Content property won't work, it just simply clear the binding.
What would be best practice to localize your ASP .Net MVC application ?
I would like to cover two situations:
one application deployment in IIS which would handle multiple languages
one language / application deployment.
In first situation should you go with somekind of view based thing like, ~/View/EN, ~/View/FI, ~/View/SWE or something different ?
What about second case, just application based config via Web.config and point these different languages to different urls ?
I've researched for hours and still haven't found a robust, non-absolute-positioning solution for displaying multiple-column forms and values without using TABLE tags.
Can someone point me to a resource specifically oriented towards reproducing table-based, multiple-column forms (like name and address forms) in CSS to standards?
Most of the forms I see only have a single column with field/value.
Can anyone point to programming language which has python-like syntax, but from the very beginning was designed to generate native code? I'm aware of Boo only, but it uses .net, not native code generation. Well, if nothing else than python-like languages which generate .net/java bytecode are fine too.
I am trying to create an iphone app for a large website (as big as amazon.com) and it involves using cookies and what not to get authenticated via the apache intercepter and access the web services exposed by the main website.
For that I am looking for strategies to go about developing it. I am new to iphone dev and mostly looking for some architectural guidance.
Does anyone know how does apps like ebay and amazon work seamlessly across the website and iphone?
I mean you can point out which topics you want to be covered, or atleast focused. Beside that, if you are already a developer using FBConnect, is there anything you want a detailed example (other than Facebook's official developers wiki). I would love to add the topics here for sure.
Just for the record, server side examples will be shown in PHP :)
Hi Guys,
I have tried to implement Drupal connect with facebook functionality via fbconnect module. I have installed and set up the plugin. When I click on the facebook button the new popup window is opened and it requires my facebook credentials. After I enter those, instead of just simply logging in to my site, drupal asks of me to create a new account for drupal.
Is there any way to just connect with my facebook account without creating a new one on the drupal site.
Regardz,
Mladjo
I'm struggling with an interview question. 3 dimension tables (Product, Store and Date) and 1 fact table (Sales). The question asks for a T-SQL solution that will return the count of products not sold, per store, per day over the past month.
At this point, my answer is futile but I've spent significant time trying to back into a solution, to no avail, and would like to close the loop. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know of a project that will allow the editing of a language (any language) within a web-page itself (via HTML-5) with content assist (ctrl+space)?
I'm trying to set the post_date of a blog post to Wordpress via XMLRPC.
I'm sending the data as a string:
$pubdate = '2010-04-08 13:46:43';
'post_date'=>$pubdate,
It appears 'post_date' is correct?
I also found this post losely related to the issue: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/330597
Can anyone suggest how I would post the date as: dateTime.iso8601
I wonder whether I can setting up a private maven repository based on my svn.
The svn can be accessed via http.
If yes, then what should I do? Just uploading the architypes is enough?
I can use this verb in the Python Windows SDK. But not in production. Why? What am I doing wrong?
The error message includes (only seen via firebug or fiddler)
Malformed request
or something like that
My code looks like:
from google.appengine.ext import db
from google.appengine.ext import webapp
class Handler(webapp.RequestHandler):
def delete(self):
key = self.request.get('key')
item = db.get(key)
item.delete()
self.response.out.write(key)
I would like to add some sort of icon that a user can press in order to flip a variable in a broadcast receiver my app uses. Basically I just can a icon that they can press which will flip the value of a boolean in the broadcast receiver, and change the icon to indicate something happened. I think I need to do something with a widget? Could anyone point me in the direction of some tutorial I could check out?
I don't even know if a solution exists or not. Here is the problem in detail. You are a program that is accepting an infinitely long stream of characters (for simplicity you can assume characters are either 1 or 0). At any point, I can stop the stream (let's say after N characters were passed through) and ask you if the string received so far is a palindrome or not. How can you do this using less sub-linear space and/or time.
