  • Howto plot two cumulative frequency graph together

    - by neversaint
    I have data that looks like this: #val Freq1 Freq2 0.000 178 202 0.001 4611 5300 0.002 99 112 0.003 26 30 0.004 17 20 0.005 15 20 0.006 11 14 0.007 11 13 0.008 13 13 ...many more lines.. Full data can be found here: http://dpaste.com/173536/plain/ What I intend to do is to have a cumulative graph with "val" as x-axis with "Freq1" & "Freq2" as y-axis, plot together in 1 graph. I have this code. But it creates two plots instead of 1. dat <- read.table("stat.txt",header=F); val<-dat$V1 freq1<-dat$V2 freq2<-dat$V3 valf1<-rep(val,freq1) valf2<-rep(val,freq2) valfreq1table<- table(valf1) valfreq2table<- table(valf2) cumfreq1=c(0,cumsum(valfreq1table)) cumfreq2=c(0,cumsum(valfreq2table)) plot(cumfreq1, ylab="CumFreq",xlab="Loglik Ratio") lines(cumfreq1) plot(cumfreq2, ylab="CumFreq",xlab="Loglik Ratio") lines(cumfreq2) What's the right way to approach this?

  • Can someone explain me this code ?

    - by VaioIsBorn
    #include <stdio.h> #include <unistd.h> #include <string.h> int good(int addr) { printf("Address of hmm: %p\n", addr); } int hmm() { printf("Win.\n"); execl("/bin/sh", "sh", NULL); } extern char **environ; int main(int argc, char **argv) { int i, limit; for(i = 0; environ[i] != NULL; i++) memset(environ[i], 0x00, strlen(environ[i])); int (*fptr)(int) = good; char buf[32]; if(strlen(argv[1]) <= 40) limit = strlen(argv[1]); for(i = 0; i <= limit; i++) { buf[i] = argv[1][i]; if(i < 36) buf[i] = 0x41; } int (*hmmptr)(int) = hmm; (*fptr)((int)hmmptr); return 0; } I don't really understand the code above, i have it from an online game - i should supply something in the arguments so it would give me shell, but i don't get it how it works so i don't know what to do. So i need someone that would explain it what it does, how it's working and the stuff. Thanks.

  • Using bash to copy file to spec folders

    - by Franko
    I have a folder with a fair amount of subfolders. In some of the subfolders do I have a folder.jpg picture. What I try to do find that folder(s) and copy it to all other subfolders that got the same artist and album information then continue on to the next album etc. The structure of all the folders are "artist - year - album - [encoding information]". I have made a really simple one liner that find the folders that got the file but there am I stuck. ls -F | grep / | while read folders;do find "$folders" -name folder.jpg; done Anyone have any good tip or ideas how to solve this or pointers how to proceed? Edit: First of all, i´m real new to this (like you cant tell) so please have patience. Ok, let me break it down even more. I have a folder structure that looks like this: artist1 - year - album - [flac] artist1 - year - album - [mp3] artist1 - year - album - [AAC] artist2 - year - album - [flac] etc I like to loop over the set of folders that have the same artist and album information and look for a folder.jpg file. When I find that file do I like to copy it to all of the other folders in the same set. Ex if I find one folder.jpg in artist1 - year - album - [flac] folder do I like to have that folder.jpg copied to artist1 - year - album - [mp3] & artist1 - year - album - [AAC] but not to artist2 - year - album - [flac]. The continue the loop until all the sets been processed. I really hope that makes it a bit more easy to understand what I try to do :)

  • CUDA SDK compilation error

    - by ZeroDivide
    I am in the process of setting up a CUDA workstation. Platform specs: Intel Core 2 Duo Nvidia GTX 280 Fedora 10 GCC version 4.3.2 I have installed the developer driver, toolkit, and the SDK. When I try to compile the SDK example code I get the following errors: make[1]: * [obj/i386/release/cutil.cpp.o] Error 1 make: * [lib/libcutil.so] Error 2 I think this means that I am missing a library file but I'm not sure.

  • Typical Hadoop setup for remote job submission

    - by Artii
    So I am still a bit new to hadoop and am currently in the process of setting up a small test cluster on Amazonaws. So my question relates to some tips on the structuring of the cluster so it is possible to work submit jobs from remote machines. Currently I have 5 machines. 4 are basically the Hadoop cluster with the NameNodes, Yarn etc. One machine is used as a manager machine( Cloudera Manager). I am gonna describe my thinking process on the setup and if anyone can chime in the points I am not clear with, that would be great. I was thinking what was the best setup for a small cluster. So I decided to expose only one manager machine and probably use that to submit all the jobs through it. The other machines will see each other etc, but not be accessible from the outside world. I am have conceptual idea on how to do this,but I am not sure how to properly go about doing this though, if anyone could point me in the right direction that would great. Also another big point is, I want to be able to submit jobs to the cluster through exposed machine from a client machine (might be Windows). I am not so clear on this setup as well. Do I need to have Hadoop installed on the machine in order to use the normal hadoop commands, and to write/submit jobs say from Eclipse or something similar. So to sum it up my questions are, Is this an ok setup for a small test cluster How can I go about using one exposed machine to submit/route jobs to the cluster, without having any of the Hadoop nodes on it. How do I setup a client machine to submit jobs to a remote cluster, and an example on how to do it on Windows. Also if there are any reason not to use Windows as a client machine in this setup. Thanks I would greatly appreciate any advice or help on this.

  • problem with fork()

    - by john
    I'm writing a shell which forks, with the parent reading the input and the child process parsing and executing it with execvp. pseudocode of main method: do{ pid = fork(); print pid; if (p<0) { error; exit; } if (p>0) { wait for child to finish; read input; } else { call function to parse input; exit; } }while condition return; what happens is that i never seem to enter the child process (pid printed is always positive, i never enter the else). however, if i don't call the parse function and just have else exit, i do correctly enter parent and child alternatingly. full code: int main(int argc, char *argv[]){ char input[500]; pid_t p; int firstrun = 1; do{ p = fork(); printf("PID: %d", p); if (p < 0) {printf("Error forking"); exit(-1);} if (p > 0){ wait(NULL); firstrun = 0; printf("\n> "); bzero(input, 500); fflush(stdout); read(0, input, 499); input[strlen(input)-1] = '\0'; } else exit(0); else { if (parse(input) != 0 && firstrun != 1) { printf("Error parsing"); exit(-1); } exit(0); } }while(strcmp(input, "exit") != 0); return 0; }

  • Sorting tab delimited text file based on multiple columns in natural way [duplicate]

    - by Vignesh
    This question already has an answer here: Sorting a column of CSV file resulting in 1123 appearing before 232 1 answer I am trying to sort a file based on all two columns Eg: chr19 1070019 1070020 chr16 869712 869713 chr1 1378131 1378132 chr12 189386 189387 chr4 254941 254942 chr16 1476500 1476501 chr2 1476810 1476811 chr19 313283 313284 chr17 595817 595818 chr18 656897 656898 chr19 1061829 1061830 I Tried sort -t $\t -k1,1 2,2 <filename> but doesn't work. I want the output to be sorted by first column and second column based on first column. I want to do a natural sort. Not lexical sorting. Eg: chr1 1378131 1378132 chr2 1476810 1476811 chr4 254941 254942 chr12 189386 189387 chr16 869712 869713 chr16 1476500 1476501 chr17 595817 595818 chr18 656897 656898 chr19 313283 313284 chr19 1061829 1061830 chr19 1070019 1070020 Anyone any idea?

  • How do I route watir through a proxy pragmatically?

    - by feydr
    I'm trying to route watir through a proxy pragmatically -- this means within the script I'd like to change my proxy dynamically before launching the browser. Here's what I've tried so far (and so far am failing): I'm running chrome and lucid lynx ubuntu. I chose TREX cause I thought watir might be making use of PROXY or something. I rewrote /usr/bin/google-chrome as: #!/bin/bash /opt/google/chrome/chrome --proxy-server="$TREX" $@ The reason I'm passing in the environment variable to proxy-server rather than http_proxy is because I never could get http_proxy to work as is anyways then I did a simple: require 'rubygems' require 'watir-webdriver' ENV['TREX'] = "XX.XX.XX.XX:YY" browser = Watir::Browser.new(:chrome) browser.goto("http://mysite.com") Anyways, what is happening here is that it is forwarding me to the login page of the proxy rather than just forwarding the request. What am I missing here? I feel like I'm pretty close.

  • Navigating multiples files vi editor

    - by learner135
    According to http://www.lagmonster.org/docs/vi2.html the command :p would make vi go to the previous file. Unfortunately, this isn't working for me. However :n works and goes to the next page. What should I use to go to the previous file? For :p I get the message, Hit Return to continue and it stays in the same page. Thanks. Edit: I am sshing to an AIX box and using the vi in Ksh if that helps.

  • How to make g++ search for header files in a specific directory?

    - by Bane
    I have a project that is subdivided into a few directories with code in them. I'd like to to have g++ search for header files in the project's root directory, so I can avoid different include paths for same header files across multiple source files. Mainly, the root/ directory has sub-directories A/, B/ and C/, all of which have .hpp and .cpp files inside. If some source file in A wanted to include file.hpp, which was in B, it would have to do it like this: #include "../B/file.hpp". Same for another source file that was in C. But, if A itself had sub-directories with files that needed file.hpp, then, it would be inconsistent and would cause errors if I decided to move files (because the include path would be "../../B/file.hpp"). Also, this would need to work from other projects as well, which reside outside of root/. I already know that there is an option to manually copy all my header files into a default-search directory, but I'd like to do this the way I described.

  • getnameinfo specifies socklen_t

    - by bobby
    The 2nd arg for the getnameinfo prototype asks for a socklen_t type but sizeof uses size_t. So how can I get socklen_t ? Prototype: int getnameinfo(const struct sockaddr *restrict sa, socklen_t salen, char *restrict node, socklen_t nodelen, char *restrict service, socklen_t servicelen, int flags); Example: struct sockaddr_in SIN; memset(&SIN, 0, sizeof(SIN)); // This should also be socklen_t ? SIN.sin_family = AF_INET; SIN.sin_addr.s_addr = inet_addr(IP); SIN.sin_port = 0; getnameinfo((struct sockaddr *)&SIN, sizeof(SIN) /* socklen_t */, BUFFER, NI_MAXHOST, NULL, 0, 0);

  • I am currently serving my static files in Django. How do I use Apache2 to do this?

    - by alex
    (r'^media/(?P<path>.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve',{'document_root': settings.MEDIA_ROOT}), As you can see, I have a directory called "media" under my Django project. I would like to delete this line in my urls.py and instead us Apache to serve my static files. What do I do to my Apache configs (which files do I change) in order to do this? By the way, I installed Apache2 like normal: sudo aptitude install apache2

  • killing all instances of chrome on the command line?

    - by Fedor
    In some cases killing a single tab/process doesn't do it and I need to close Chrome entirely. Since Chrome has multiple processes, how can I close all of them at once? I know that... pgrep chrome returns all the pids, can someone tell me a trick that would allow me to close all of them by feeding them to another command or merging them to a csv or something?

  • Android strace in Real device

    - by Martin Solac
    I have the following situation, I want to monitor the system calls on Android phones so I made an script to do that. With Android Emulator works perfectly (writes the traces of the application in a specific file on my Ubuntu). The problem is when I attach a real phone to analyze it, it says the following in the result file: ptrace attach failed: Operation not permitted I'm using this code to get it, but I don't understand why it works on the emulator and not in the rooted real device. This is the comand I use in perl: system("$dirTools/adb -s $Device shell strace -p $PID[1]>$dirRecordDataSet/$Date/$appName &"); Any suggestion? Thanks in advance

  • Java memory mapped files and swap

    - by MarkS
    I'm looking at some memory mapped files in Java. Let's say I have a heap size set to 2gb, and I memory map a file that is 50gb - far more than the physical memory on the machine. The OS will cache parts of that 50gb file in the os file cache, the java process will have 2gb of heap space. What I'm curious about is how does the OS decide how much of the 50gb file to cache? For instance, if I have another java process, also with a 2gb heap size, will that 2gb be swapped out to allow the os to cache parts of the memory mapped file? Will parts of the heap space of the first process be swapped out to allow the OS to cache? Is there any way to tell the OS not to swap heap space for OS caching? If the OS doesn't swap out main processes, how does it determine how big its file cache should be?
