I am creating a web based email client in .NET using a 3rd party component.
I just want to make sure I have the right idea:
I will first pull the emails in using POP
I will then parse each individual message that I got from POP using the MIME component right?
My choices for 3rd party are: Nsoftware, Quiksoft or Dart.
I am looking at Nsoftware right now though.
The question says it all. I want to paste a file from the clipboard that has been copied from a compress folder using VB.net. By examining the clipboard, I see there is a FileGroupDescriptorW which seems to contain some information about the file. But I have not found how to use the information to grab the file and paste it.
I have the following Hyperlink as a button:-
<asp:LinkButton ID="loginButton" runat="server" CssClass="loginButton" Text="LOGIN" OnClientClick="return validateLogin(memNoID,pwID)" AddressOf="loginButton.Click"></asp:LinkButton>
It causes a postback but only executes the onload and prerender sections of code. It totally ignores the following function signature:-
Protected Sub loginButton_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
Some code
End Sub
Any pointers appreciated.
I can't find XamlPad anywhere after I installed .NET 4.0 / Visual Studio 2010 and Windows 7 SDK - v7.1.
I tried searching C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\bin
and did a dir /s xamlpad.exe to see if the Windows Index service didn't get to that folder yet.
And it's not under Start Menu - All Programs - Windows SDK v7.1 -- Tools.
Where has it gone? Did MS deprecate it? Thanks
Hi all,
I need to run a taks in CruiseControl .NET before checking for modification in source control. I mean this task should be the very firts thing that CruisControl will always do. I see section in cc.config, but it is for running tasks before building a solution, so it is not exactly what I need.
Will be very appriciate for any help.
Thank you.
In VB .Net, the Generics Lists have a sort function that accepts IComparer or Comparison. I'd like to sort just part of list. Hopefully I can specify the start index, count of elements to sort, and a lambda function. It looks like you can only use lambda functions to do this if you're sorting the entire list. Is that right or did I miss something?
What is the basic concept behind WaitHandle in C# .net threading ?
Whats is its use ?
When to use it ?
What is the use of WaitAll and WaitAny methods inside it ?
The Vb.Net application creates a bitmap from scratch and either converts to a tiff or sends it to a printer. In both cases, the quality of the image (in this case the font) is not good at all. The sample code listed below creates the graphics object that I use to write to the image.
Dim gr2 As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(New Bitmap(800, 1000), Imaging.PixelFormat.Format32bppPArgb))
I am using asp.net webforms... I have a user registration form where the user uploads his resume.... I use a file upload control and when the user submits it i trigger mail to few mailIds... Now my problem can i attach the file which was uploaded by the user as attachment to the mailids... Is it possible in asp.net... Any suggestion....
Basically multiple instances of our application will be launched but they need to have separate user settings. We currently have use "user settings" for that, and it works fine for a single instance (per windows user) but we would like to be able to launch multiple instances with say a settings path passed in via command line. Is there a way to do this with the built-in .NET settings or will we have to roll our own?
Hi,
I just installed PC Tools Anti-Virus and my ASP.NET website recompiles everything before every page load.
Which folder are asp.net website files in, so that i can prevent this from happening?
And, i'm probly not the first person with this kind of error, so is there a common solution for this?
Thank you,
-Theo
What is the easiest way to ping/notify a .NET Windows Service? Do I have to use WCF for this? Or is there an easier way?
I would like to be able to wake up the service using a Python (or an Iron Python) script from anywhere.
Also is there a way I can be notified (by email) if that the service has stopped?
How to bind "OnDataBound" event of "DropDownList" in declarative syntax to a static method in some other class ?
e.g
<asp:DropDownList runat="server" id="d1" OnDataBound="SomeOtherClassThanThisPage.StaticMethod"></asp:DropDownList>
This will give the error, "Page does not contain a definition for SomeOtherClassThanThisPage.
Is this possible to do it like this or it be done in the Code Behind only ?
I would like CruiseControl.Net to fail a build when some code metrics change in a 'wrong' direction, i.e. code coverage decreases or Gendarme defect count increases. The Gendarme metrics are already tracked in report.xml file (because they are presented on web dashboard graphs), the code coverage is only reported on build status page (and saved in build report xml).
How can I achieve this?
hi
when I append jquery datepicker to my asp textbox, by clicking on it, my browser auto shows the history of the dates i typed in a dropdownlist. Can I prevent this?
Set textbox to readonly isn't a good idea because asp.net doesn't read the values from read only fields in code behind.
any other ideas?
thank you and best regards.

How do I attach multiple files as e-mail attachments in vb.net? I am trying to use a list box where user will select the file and attach which will appear in a listbox. And also I would like to give the option to delete the attachment also.
If you go to "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers" in Windows 7 (and i assume vista) you will see some nice pretty pictures of printers.
See image below
Is it possible to get access to these images through .net?
For example to display them on a windows form?
I'm asking this question because I think it's one that we run into from time to time. I needed to take an HTML table that had been manipulated client side and send the resulting table data to the server for processing. Additionally, I wanted to map this using JSON.NET directly to my business object(s).
I remember Sun's slogan so vividly... "Write Once, Run Anywhere". The idea being that since programs are compiled into standard byte codes, any device with a Java Virtual Machine could run it. Over the years, Java seems to have made it onto many platforms/devices.
Is this the intention or was it ever the intention of .NET. If so, what kind of efforts are being put forth to make this a reality?
I'm studying string searching algorithms now and wondering what algorithm is used for .NET String.Contains function for example.
Reflector shows that this function is used but I have no idea what its name means.
private static extern int InternalFindNLSStringEx(IntPtr handle, string localeName, int flags, string source, int sourceCount, int startIndex, string target, int targetCount);
Hi there guys! I'm starting out learning some ASP.Net programming and I'm going to be making a little community website for my friends and myself.
I'm trying to pick up some good habits along the way.
I was thinking of having a usercontrol and have that 'loginBox' shows the appropriate textboxes and login button, but also show his username when he is logged in.
Do you think I should handle this as a user control or am I missing something as an ASP.Net newbie?
