  • How can an improvement to the query cache be tracked?

    I am parameterizing my web app's ad hoc sql. As a result, I expect the query plan cache to reduce in size and have a higher hit ratio. Perhaps even other important metrics will be improved. Could I use perfmon to track this? If so, what counters should I use? If not perfmon, how could I report on the impact of this change?

Can someone suggest a regular expression that would fulfill the requirement? I'm considering expanding each byte pair and matching the result with a simpler regex.

(Also, the - are actually - "& g t ;" (without spaces)). However, on IE the div stays stuck on "Searching..." and the hidden input value stays blank. I've tried both .get and .post and neither work. I'm sure it's failing on the .get because if I try this, I don't even get the alert: $.get("/ajax/ldap_search.php", {cn: $("#username").val()}, function() { alert("Check"); }); Also, IE doesn't give me any script errors. Edit: Added "$(document).ready(function() {", the .blur was already in it in my code, but I forgot to include that in my post.   • LInux C++: how do profile time wasted due to cache misses?

    I know that I can use gprof to benchmark my code. However, I have this problem -- I have a smart pointer that has an extra level of indirection (think of it as a proxy object). As a result, I have this extra layer that effects pretty much all functions, and screws with caching. Is there a way to measure the time my CPU wastes due to cache misses? Thanks!

I'm trying to show the progress bar on top of my activity and have it update the activity's table view in the background. Any ideas how I can display progress and at the same time update my table in the background? Currently my UI looks like:
