I am writing a web service that will receive uploads from mobile clients. The data will have 4 or more text fields followed by a large binary field. What is the best standard technology to use for this, as I may make the API public in the future and want to use something that everyone likes. XML? SOAP? Just HTTP and a completely customized payload?
Thanks.
Hi
I'm a beginner in BlackBerry programming, I need to replace in my application the default menu (when you press the menu button) by a custom menu, horizontal. The best to describe is I want the same result as the WeatherEye application for BlackBerry...
I know how to create the default menu, but this one I have no idea!
Thank you,
I have programmed an emulator, but I have some doubts about how to organizate it properly, because, I see that it has some problems about classes connection (CPU <- Machine Board).
For example: I/O ports, interruptions, communication between two or more CPU, etc.
I need for the emulator to has the best performance and good understanding of the code.
PD: Sorry for my bad English.
I need to be able to use one object in multiple activities within my app, and it needs to be the SAME object. What is the best way to do this?
I have tried making the object "public static" so it can be accessed by other activities but for some reason this just isn't cutting it. Are there any other ways of doing this?
I am currently achieving the desired outcome with two PHP statements:
$thisBlarg = $xmlResource->xpath('//blarg[@ID='.$someBlargID.']');
echo $thisBlarg[0]->name;
But, not wanting to settle for second best, I'd really prefer this to be one statement, but PHP doesn't like this:
echo $xmlResource->xpath('//blarg[@ID='.$someBlargID.']')[0]->name;
And for good reason. But I can't find a way to force an xpath query to return the result directly. Any suggestions?
Let's say:
I want to query colA, colB and colC in my table.
I want to see DISTINCT values but I don't want colA to be a criteria for distinction.
Omitting colA isn't an option.
What's the best way to structure that query?
My google fu is weak today, but I cannot find a good article to do so. I would like to extend the Zend Adapter to check n extra columns on my database table. What is the best way to fully extend the adapter, so I can use it in the future without needing to dig through documentation again.
Hello stackoverflow community,
I'm looking for a hint how to make tomcat CI ready or an servlet container / application container which stand often redeploys like they happen when using hudson ci.
I experienced that Tomcat 6 does not properly undeploy webapps, leaving classes in jvm.
For example I monitored tomcat 6 with VisualVM: on start 2000 classes, on deploy of an app 3000 after redeploy 4000 and redeploy 5000 classes and so on - leading to crashes, memory leaks...
Okay hope one have a hint on tomcat and continuous-integration or other app servers.
Best,
What is the best gallery to showcase web design you have came across?
Plan to get various creative agencies to showcase their works on an advertisement platform so that new user will be able to see various portfolio. When it come to select a suitable album, I am indecisive if it too plain (Load and display) or too flashy (coverflow album), which album/gallery script do you recommend for our corporate theme?
I would prefer background to be white.
Hello.
I need to read sound stream sent by flash audio in my C++ application (C++ is not a real limitation, it may be C# or any other desktop language).
Now flash app sends audio to another flash app but I need to receive the same audio by desktop application.
So, is there a standard or best way how to do it?
Thank you for your answers.
I have two different .Net projects, hosted on github.
I would like to create a shared "commons" library for the two projects.
How should I structure my repository to facilitate this sharing?
Ideally, a change in this common library in one project could easily be pushed into the other project. I prefer to keep the code itself editable from the two projects (within Visual Studio), and not include it as a library. Are there best practices for this?
I have a requirement for developing a black hole generator. They say that this may allow time travel and getting rich...
whatever...what do you think it's the best approach for black hole generator
a) Infinite loop
while (1==1) blackHole++;
b) Division by 0
try
{
6/0
}
catch
{
//blackHoleGenerated
}
i would like to know the best way to design database tables for multiple users, like any website that requires a user log in before they can start posting anything.
Should my code create individual tables for every users or something different?
What's the best way to adjust the path destination for a routing table created in the global.asax Application_Start event based on the domain/sub domain/host? The following worked in IIS6, but with IIS7 the request object is decoupled from the Application_Start event and therefore does not work anymore:
Dim strHost As String = Context.Request.Url.Host
Dim strDir As String = ""
If strHost.Contains("domain1.com") Then
strDir = "area1/"
Else
strDir = "area2/"
End If
routes.MapPageRoute("Search", "Search", "~/" & strDir & "search.aspx")
I need to draw a line with plusses along an given path (arch) but can't seem to find anything pointing me in the right direction.
Any help would me much appreciated.
Best,
Jon H
I want to make a class in java that is assessable to all other classes in my project.
I created this in the default package and now it cannot be seen. What is the best way to do this in java?
This is kind of an academic question, so feel free to exit now. I've had a dig through Stack for threads pertaining to URL/Controller mapping in MVC frameworks - in particular this one:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/125677/php-application-url-routing
So far, I can ascertain two practices:
1: dynamic mapping through parsing the URL string (exploded on '/')
2: pattern matching matching url to config file containing available routes
I wanted to get some feedback (or links to some other threads/articles) from folks regarding their views on how best to approach this task.
Do interfaces need a virtual destructor, or is the auto-generated one fine? For example, which of the following two code snippets is best, and why?
class Base
{
public:
virtual void foo() = 0;
virtual ~Base() {}
};
OR...
class Base
{
public:
virtual void foo() = 0;
};
Hi,
I was wondering if the fifo queue presented in Fober et al's paper http://nedko.arnaudov.name/soft/L17_Fober.pdf was a multiple consumer and produce fifo queue. If not, which is the best documented multiple consumer and producer FIFO queue?
Thanks
I recently had an interview question that went something like this:
Given a large string (haystack), find a substring (needle)?
I was a little stumped to come up with a decent solution.
What is the best way to approach this that doesn't have a poor time complexity?
