    I need to parse strings inputs where the columns are separated by columns and any field that contains a comma in the data is wrapped in quotes (commas separated, quoted text identifiers). For this project I need to remove the quotes and any commas that occur between pairs of quotes. Basically, I need to remove commas and quotes that are contained in fields while preserving the commas that are used to separate the fields. Here's a little code I put together that handles the simple scenario: // Sample input 1: This works and covers 99% of the records that I need to parse. string str1 = "[email protected],2010/03/27 12:2:02,,some_first_name,some_last_name,,\"This Address Works, Suite 200\",Some City,TN,09876-5432,9795551212x123,XYZ"; str1 = Regex.Replace(str1, "\"([^\"^,]*),([^\"^,]*)\"", "$1$2"); Console.WriteLine(str1); // Outputs: [email protected],2010/03/27 12:2:02,,some_first_name,some_last_name,,This Address Works Suite 200,Some City,TN,09876-5432,9795551212x123,XYZ Although this code works for most of my records, it doesn't work when a field contains more than one commas. What I would like to do is modify the code so that it remove each instance of a comma contained within the column no matter how many commas there are in the field. I don't want to hard code only handling 2 commas, or 3 commas, or 25 commas. The code should just remove all the commas in the field.     Hiya, I am attempting to carry out a few functions when a user registers on a wordpress site. Any ideas how i execute a function once Wordpress has completed the whole registration process of adding meta data into the relevant tables too? I attempted to use this: add_filter('user_register ','tml_new_user_registered',99); But with no luck unfortunately. Thanks in advance!

  • Best way to convert a Unicode URL to ASCII (UTF-8 percent-escaped) in Python?

    I'm wondering what's the best way -- or if there's a simple way with the standard library -- to convert a URL with Unicode chars in the domain name and path to the equivalent ASCII URL, encoded with domain as IDNA and the path %-encoded, as per RFC 3986. I get from the user a URL in UTF-8. So if they've typed in http://?.ws/? I get 'http://\xe2\x9e\xa1.ws/\xe2\x99\xa5' in Python. And what I want out is the ASCII version: 'http://xn--hgi.ws/%E2%99%A5'.   • Jqyery Bugs?? Long decimal number after two numbers multiply...

    Hi all I am working on a shopping site and I am trying to calculate the subtotal of products. I got my price from a array and quantity from getJSON response array. Two of them multiply comes to my subtotal. I can change the quantity and it will comes out different subtotal. However,when I change the quantity to certain number, the final subtotal is like 259.99999999994 or some long decimal number. I use console.log to check the $price and $qty. Both of them are in the correct format ex..299.99 and 6 quantity.I have no idea what happen. I would appreciate it if someone can help me about it.   • How to improve performance of map that loads new overlay images

    I have inherited a website to maintain that uses a html map overlaying a real map to link specific countries to specific pages. previously it loaded the default map image, then with some javascript it would change the image src to an image with that particular country in a different colour on mouseover and reset the image source back to the original image on mouse out to make maintenance (adding new countries) easier i made the initial map a background image by utilising some CSS for the div tag, and then created new images for each country which only had that countries hightlight so that the images remain fairly small. this works great but theres one issue which is particularly noticeable on slower internet connections when you hover over a country if you dont have the image file in your browser cache or downloaded it wont load the image unless you hover over another country and then back onto the first country - i guess this is due to the image having to manually be downloaded on first hover. My question: is it possible to force the load of these extra images AFTER the page and all the other assets have finished loading so that this behaviour is all but eliminated? the html code for the MAP is as follows: <div class="gtmap"><img id="Image-Maps_6200909211657061" src="<?php echo cdnhttpsCheck();   • Korn shell wraparound

    Okay, I'm sure this is simple but it is driving me nuts. I recently went to work on a program where I've had to step back in time a bit and use Redhat 9. When I'm typing on the command line from a standard xterm running Korn shell, when I reach the end of the line the screen slides to the right (cutting off the left side of my command) instead of wrapping the text around to a new line. This makes things difficult for me because I can't easily copy and paste from the previous command straight from the command line. I have to look at the history and paste the command from there. In case you're wondering, I do a lot of command-line awk scripts that cause the line to get quite long. Is there a way to force the command line to wrap instead of shifting visibility to the right side of the command I'm typing? I've poured through man page options with no luck. I'm running XFree86 4.2.99.903(174) and KSH 5.2.14. Thanks.

  • Ajax UpdatePanels SetFocus issue

    I set the AutoPostback property of a textbox to True so I can process the TextChanged event on the server and, based on what they typed in the textbox, appropriately display a message in an update panel. The problem is, when the partial screen refresh is performed, no control on the screen has focus. 99% of the time, when the text in the textbox is changed, it is because the user has tabbed forward, and so, to limit the disruption in the lost of focus, I perform a "Focus" call on teh next control in the tab sequence. For the most part, this works OK, but of course, is disputive if the user is tabbing in the reverse order or has used the mouse to set the focus to another control. In these situations, the focus would be set to the next control even though the user was trying to set focus elsewhere. OK, that sucks. Now what I consider the bigger problem with calling the focus method on the server: In IE, it works OK, but in Mozilla Firefox and Chrome, setting the focus causes a repositioning of the scroll bar, even though none is necessary because the control is already in view. I realize that I could switch to doing AJAX web service calls, but these darn Updae Panels are so convenient if used in moderation. is there anyway to use updatepanels and not have these focus/scroll issues?

    I have a FileSystemWatcher monitoring a directory that receives TIF files from a scanning device. Its necessary to check if the scanning process is done and then read a multipage TIF file, otherwise, the FileSystemWatcher will raise the event before the file be fully scanned. I have something like: private void OnFileCreated(...) { while(IsFileLocked(path)) Thread.Sleep(time); // OK to read } This is what is happening: - Scanner creates the file - FileSystemWatcher detects the file, but its in use - Scanner reads the first page to the file - Scanner releases the file - My code leaves the while(FileInUse(path)) - My code reads the incomplete file (problem) - Scanner adds more pages to the file Let's say the scanner is scanning 100 pages, then, when "OK to read", the file will be incomplete (99 pages left). So, its necessary to know if the file is complete or not. Maybe waiting some time to see if the file is modified, but this time span can be up to hours, because the scanner can get idle scanning the same TIF. Other solution would be checking some flag in the TIF file that indicates that the file is not complete(I've looked for this but don't found anything).

    I'm having a really weird problem with a third party web service that uses an ODBC connection to Oracle 10.2.0.3.0. I've written a .NET client that generates the same SQL as the web service so I can find out what's going on. The web service is hosted by IIS 6 that's in x64 mode so we use Oracle x64 client. The oracle client version is 10.2.0.1.0. I have a table that looks like this (I've removed some columns and names): SQL> describe tablename; Name Null?   • jQuery AJAX with two domains

    OK here is the situation: I have an externally hosted CMS which works great for 99% of our needs. However on the more advanced things I inject my own CSS+JS and do magic. The problem I am running into is loading a simple HTML page from jQuery.ajax() calls. It appears to work in the sense that no warnings or errors are thrown; however in my success handler (which IS ran), the response is blank! I have been scratching my head for the whole morning trying to figure this out and the only thing I can think of is that is has something to do with the cross domain issue (even though it appears to work).   • Jquery Bugs?? Long decimal number after two numbers multiply...

    Hi all I am working on a shopping site and I am trying to calculate the subtotal of products. I got my price from a array and quantity from getJSON response array. Two of them multiply comes to my subtotal. I can change the quantity and it will comes out different subtotal. However,when I change the quantity to certain number, the final subtotal is like 259.99999999994 or some long decimal number. I use console.log to check the $price and $qty. Both of them are in the correct format ex..299.99 and 6 quantity.I have no idea what happen. I would appreciate it if someone can help me about it.   • Which Stroustrup book should I use?

    I'm a C# programmer that is looking to branch out. I'm bored of writing business software and want to start getting into graphics programming and games/simulators. So I figured, although writing that stuff isn't impossible in managed code, the "right" way to do that would be to look to C++, of course focussing on the language first, then getting into OpenGL or DirectX (or whatever). Way way back ('98? '99?) I had tried and failed to really grasp Stroustrup's The C++ Programming Language. I know that this book is often not recommended for the beginner. Anyway, I picked it back up (in a much more recent printing) and I'm actually getting it and enjoying it. I also have a copy of his textbook, Programming: Principles and Practice Using C++, which, as I understand it, is really geared toward teaching programming, not necessarily C++. I'm certainly not arrogant enough to claim I don't have anything more to learn about programming, data structures, algoriths, etc., however I'm not a novice there either. So my question is, with the goal of gaining the broader and more real-world-useful understanding of C++ and given my background, on which should I focus? The denser (as I perceive it) TCPPPL or the gentler Programming? EDIT: I thank everyone for the responses. However, I've got a personal choice here to make between these two books. Granted there are other very good books out there, but I'm already a good length into both of the books I mention and I'd like to finish one. So, can anyone respond on which would be the better and why? Time is not an issue; I'm not looking (at this point) at an "accelerated" read.

  • Replacement for Hamachi for SVN access

    My company has been using Hamachi to access our SVN repository for a number of years. We are a small yet widely distributed development team with each programmer in a different country working from home. The server is hosted by a non-techie in our central office. Hamachi is useful here since it has a GUI and supports remote management. This system worked well for a while, but recently I have moved to a country with poor internet speeds. Hamachi will no longer connect 99% of the time - instead I get a "Probing..." message that doesn't resolve. It's certain to be a latency issue, as the same laptop will connect without problems when I cross the border and connect using a different ISP with better speeds. So I really need to replace Hamachi with some other VPN/protocol that handles latency better. The techie managing the repository is not comfortable installing and configuring Apache or IIS, so it looks like HTTP is out. I tried to convince my boss to go for a web hosting company, but he doesn't trust a 3rd party with our source. Any other recommended options / experiences out there for accessing our SVN repos that would be as simple as Hamachi for setup; but be more tolerant of network latency issues?

    I installed Mac OSX 10.9 the day it came out. Afterwards I decided I needed to install PIL. I'd installed it before, but it appeared the update had broken that. When I try to use pip to install PIL, it fails when building _imaging.
