I have been looking around at different ways to connect to URLs and there seem to be a few.
My requirements are to do POST and GET queries on a URL and retrieve the result.
I have seen
URL class
DefaultHttpClient class
And there were some others in apache commons
which method is best?
I have the following method :
public List<string> someMethod()
{
// populate list of strings
// dump them to csv file
//return to output
}
Question is: i dont want the user to wait for csv dump, which might take a while.
If i use a thread for csvdump, will it complete? before or after the return of output?
Suppose I want to run the following method foo() once every hour in Grails:
class FooController {
public static void foo() {
// stuff that needs to be done once every hour (at *:00)
}
}
What is the easiest/recommended way to set up such cron-like scheduling in Grails?
An odd question:
Just wondering if it is possible by some loophole to define a method name that ends in a colon. The purpose being things like this:
mymethod: arg1,arg2,arg3
Hi All
Is there some way I can make an Extension Method asynchronous?
I have looked around for a while now, but haven't yet found anything related. Will keep looking though...
Thank you
Hi Experts,
I am clueless to find out why should we use static method with JSON. Is it possible that I click a button and I load a gridview with JSON ??
Thanks in advance
I'm starting to develop an application using MySQL and although I've developed apps before using databases, I've normally gone to the incrementing id method. The other day I was reading a posting somewhere and saw someone being picked apart for this, for not properly "normalising the database". I'm not a big database person, but I wanted to make sure I'm doing this right.
Any ideas, help / guidance?
I was trying to fetch remote notification info when the app was not running,so I was told that I can get from :
UILocalNotification *localNotification = [launchOptions
objectForKey:UIApplicationLaunchOptionsRemoteNotificationKey]
in method:
- (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application
didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions
,but still can't get info.
Then I use alertView to show the info on iPhone(launch without Xcode),still can't get the info.
Any other issue would cause this? Please let me know if you have any ideas.
I have a number of classes that are decorated with DebuggerDisplayAttribute.
I want to be able to add trace statements to Unit Tests that will display instances of these classes.
Does there exist a method in the .NET Framework that will display an object formatted using DebuggerDisplayAttribute (or fall back to using .ToString() if no DebuggerDisplayAttribute is defined)?
I have MYGallery class extended by Gallery. onSwipe onFling method is not getting called what need to do.
code is as below
public MyGallery(PhotoAlbumDetailActivity context) {
super(context);
this.context = context;
this.setFadingEdgeLength(0);
//this.setSpacing(10);
}
public boolean onFling(MotionEvent e1, MotionEvent e2, float velocityX, float velocityY) {
System.out.println("On Fling");
}
in my main activity
this.mConverseGallery = new ConverseGallery(this);
In light of this question I thought it'd be really neat to have a similar question about C#/.Net.
So, what is the most awkward or misleading method name of the .Net and/or C# API?
I would like to call a method passing a parameter every 20 seconds,
e.g.
public void ProcessPerson(IPerson person)
I’ve been reading through the different Timer options and was wondering if anybody could recommend the most efficient way to do this?
Thank you for your help.
How would I go about ensuring that the overridden parent method exists before I call it?
I've tried this:
public function func() {
if (function_exists('parent::func')) {
return parent::func();
}
}
However the function_exists never evaluates to true.
Why public InputStream getResourceAsStream(String name) is in Class class? It just give inputstream of file which is in jar file and there is no relation with Class class. so it can be static method and it can be in any class.
I use the DAO method Execute to delete some records. If this fails this is clear by checking RecordsAffected (it will be 0). But is it possible to get the error message (for instance, to log or to show to the user)? I've try to delete the records by hand in the Table grid I get a clear dialog message, e.g. "The record cannot be deleted or changed because tabel x includes related records".
I am trying to write a recursive method to print n number of asteriks in a line and create a new line at the end.
So, TriangleOps.line(5);
would print
*****
This is the code I wrote:
public static void line (int n){
if(n>0){
System.out.println("*");
line(n-1);
}}
instead it prints
*
*
*
*
*
with a lot of space at the end. Can anyone tell me how to remove the line breaks?
If we have a class that inherits from multiple interfaces, and the interfaces have methods with the same name, how can we implement these methods in my class? How we can specify that which method of which interface is implemented?
Can any one please share their experience on
"When do we make a call to use between Synchronised method and Synchronised Block"
Any Performance Issues?
I have this but it always returns null
private static String getParameters(Method aMethod) {
Class<?>[] parameterTypes = aMethod.getParameterTypes();
for (Class<?> aParam : parameterTypes) {
System.out.print(aParam.getName());
}
return null;
}
Does a method which I check for with respondsToSelector have to actually exist?
What if I only define it in the interface part and fail to implement it? I'm looking at a poor-man's virtual function in Objective-C.
