Since very little i wanted to create a game, my place where my rules apply, where i am not limited. Now that i am capable of doing. I am asking myself should i start ? I have already the idea i have choosen the engine, only coding and artwork is required. The engine i have choose cost is quite high(50k), i can try throught a kickstarter campaign or indiegogo. But shouid I ? Please give me your opinion. Thank you :)
As the title says, I need resources for a 2D fighting game for the PC. The game is being made by me and two close friends. I'm thinking of using the FlatRedBall engine and either Allegro Sprite Editor or Amiga DPaint for the sprites, but I don't know is there is anything better for a more or less beginner in video game making. So my questions are as follows, what would be the best engine to use so that we could also sell the game later on, (I don't really care what language I'd have to use) and what would be the best thing to use for sprite creating? I would really appreciate any help given.
I wanted to submit an app to the Mac app store that reads the iPhone backup dir and provides some useful functionality on user's voicemails and sms messages. The app parses and reads the backup mbdb files, and extracts the voicemail and sms sqlite db files as well as the voicemails to a temp directory.
Is this kind of app likely to be rejected since it reads an unpublished format? It's not using any private APIs. I realize none of you are reviewers but wondering if I should even try to submit it to the store.
Search engines can sometimes take the best designed sites and can completely ignore a lot of modern elements of a webpage. A search engine spider will come across a number of stumbling blocks that are in many ways not in agreement with what they are looking for even if the content is embedded in the so called blocks.

I have several iOS/iPhone apps that have been continually selling in small amounts in over 2 dozen different countries, even though the app UIs and all the store descriptions are only in English. In a few countries where English is not the official or native language, a few apps are selling far better than is proportionate for those country's population size compared with the U.S.
So why Internationalize apps?
What kind of increase, if any, in sales might a typical app see if it is Internationalized into given local languages? Which major languages might be likely to see the greatest improvement in app sales or downloads due to a localized app description?
Originally posted on: http://geekswithblogs.net/dlussier/archive/2013/11/12/154613.aspxI wanted to download the Vine app for Windows Phone, but I couldn’t find it in the app store when I browsed it on my Nokia. I went to the app’s page on the app store where I saw this: One of my Twitter peeps from Winnipeg, Len, commented that he was able to install it from the website. So I went back and noticed that there’s a “Download and Install Manually” link towards the bottom of the page, which will let you download the .XAP file directly. So I emailed myself the link, opened it on my phone, and voila – Vine is now installed! What’s the point of limiting apps by region if we can just manually download and install the file anyway? Weird. D
I downloaded 12.10 a day after it was released. It is a little buggy in my system - shows the errors such as a problem has occurred frequently. The developers probably have fixed most of the issues by now. So I was wondering if I was to download a fresh copy of the distribution from ubuntu.com, will the distribution have all the bug patches and updates integrated? Or will I have to run update again to install the patches separately?
In January Google rolled out a new version of its search engine algorithm "Caffeine". Its faster and presents a much, much larger index of the web universe. It has many new implications for SEO Consultants and SEO Designers to deal with.
As one of search engine optimization content strategies, blogs can increase the final effort which is getting more and more popular among webmasters. Why could blogs deliver organic search traffic to a website? Here are six reasons.
Just to be straightforward, I am completely new to many aspects of coding and am searching for different specs and guidelines to aid me on my journey to crafting a wonderful game in Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4. I was wanting to know how to implement a third-person camera shake into my game, for use of the player sprinting, or crouching, etc. All I need is some tips on setting it up. I can figure the rest out.
Hey do you want o know how Natural Search Engine Optimization beats out the beans of per pay click advertising? I want to show you that Natural SEO is way better than PPC.
I have some developers creating an iPhone app, often the app will not work on one type of iPhone even though it worked on another one using the same version of iOS. Therefore, I am looking for a service where I can test the app natively on all the iPhone versions running various versions of iOS. I would like to be able to interact with the iPhones myself, so that I know that a specific bug has actually been fixed before, pushing to App Store and waiting 9 days for the review before I can hear the sad news from customers. Googling got me nowhere.
Do such services exist?
One of the criticisms often leveled regarding article submission and article marketing is that it is boring blathering of targeted keywords for search engine optimization. The truth is contrary to such a belief.
After switchign to Ubuntu 12.10, I have discovered I like the Web App's feature. I do not, however, like the Gwibber application, or Twitter.com (and it's web app) because of lack of features.
I do, however, like the Twitter client Hotot, but for some reason, is not working for me right now.
I was wondering if there was a way I could make web.tweetdeck.com a Web App, until I can get Hotot working for me?
Thank you!
Well, I want to learn game development, I've already know a little bit about xna, ogre and DX but, I want to choose one of them and stick with it. I'm not trying to make a "directx vs xna, ogre vs opengl, etc." thread.
Some people told me that it's better to learn an engine like Ogre because you can develop games directly and you don't have to worry about the low level details, I know that. Other people told me that it's better to learn a low level api before learning something like Ogre because you will able to understand how it works.
Is it valuable to have experience with Ogre or another engine but don't know anything about a low level api?
What do you recommend me?
Thanks in advance.
Tried to connect my iPod, but got this message:
Error mounting: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb2,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
Have seen links to this here, but beeing rather green, I don't understand much.

What do I do now?
The dmesg|tail says
