• How to populate a repository with a copy of an old svn repository

  Hi there. I configured long time ago a backup script for one of my svn repository. Such a noob i was, i didn't used 'svnadmin dump' but just made an archive of my repository folder. I don't have access to the old server anymore thus the only thing i have a archives of the old repository folder. is there a way to import those archive into my new server? Thanks.

  Hi, Some time ago, I had created a DLL to be used in another C program. Basically I exposed specific functions by using the following within my dll: void __declspec(dllexport) MyFunc(myFirstArg, mySecondArg); Then I added an external file (MyExposedDll.h) with all exposed functions and structures to the new C program and included it: include MyExposedDll.h Now how can I use this dll (or mainly a dll) to a Cobol function?   I run a forum similar to this one where people can sign up and post. I don't use Open ID (oops?) as we have our own sign up and email confirmation system. Everything was going fine up until a week ago when all of a sudden all emails starting either going to spam boxes or not being sent at all.   I saw that on so many blogs. Lots of the people that were dealing with ASP.NET tend to play with Ruby on Rails after working hours. And It is just a matter of last one or two years. Why is it like that? Is it because when ASP.NET MVC showed up people become more open-minded - having joy with programming again they realize that some other folks had that many years ago, and they do not want to miss what they currently have?

• How important is it for me to pool my connections?

  It has been suggested to me that I rearrange my code to "pool" my ADO connections. On each web page I would open one connection and keep using the same open connection. But someone else told me that was important 10 years ago but is not so important now. If I make, let's say, 5 db calls on a web posting, is it problematic to be using 5 separate connections that I open/close?

• Net::HTTP Gives time out but browser visit returns data

  I tried the following Net::HTTP.get_print URI.parse(URI.encode('https://graph.facebook.com/me/likes?access_token=mytoken', '|')) (My Token is my actual token in code) I get a EOFError: end of file reached error If I visit the page with my browswer it loads up a JSON page. Any idea what could be causing the error? It was working a few days ago. Can't see any changes to facebook api.

  I need a way of generating a word document (from a template or something) and inserting an image at a specific place. Does anyone have any pointers on the best way to do this? I worked on a project that used Office Automation in .NET 1.1 a few years ago, and it was really unspeakably poor. I'm assuming OA has either been improved or been superceeded by a better solution, but I'm not finding much advice on google.
