  • find all text before using regex

    - by jeff
How can I use regex to find all text before the text "All text before this line will be included"? I have includes some sample text below for example This can include deleting, updating, or adding records to your database, which would then be reflex. All text before this line will be included You can make this a bit more sophisticated by encrypting the random number and then verifying that it is still a number when it is decrypted. Alternatively, you can pass a value and a key instead.

  • What do people find difficult about C pointers?

    - by Paul
From the number of questions posted here, it's clear that people have some pretty fundemental issues when getting their heads around pointers and pointer arithmetic. I'm curious to know why. They've never really caused me major problems (although I first learned about them back in the Neolithic). In order to write better answers to these questions, I'd like to know what people find difficult. So, if you're struggling with pointers, or you recently were but suddenly "got it", what were the aspects of pointers that caused you problems?

  • Find and replace date within a file

    - by user1629011
My apologies if my title is not descriptive enough, I believe the following will be. I have 3 files which are just plain text, within each file, is a date Date: 2012-08-31 for example I would like to get a command/script to find this and update to the current date, but the date will be ever changing and may not be known going in (without viewing the contents of the file Knowing what the date is, its simple enough with sed, but how can I do this knowing the syntax of the line I want to modify, but not the specific values. ("Date: " at least is unchanging)

i wonder where one can find template interfaces. eg. i am creating these classes that implements iLog: DatabaseLog ScreenLog FileLog i wonder what methods should a typical Log class have? is there a set of interfaces you could just implement/learn from rather than reinvent the wheel and have to think about the method names. eg. Interfaces: iLog iDatabase iErrorMessage etc. Thanks

  • How to find multiple words on the same line in Notepad++

    - by Mike
I have a 4MB log file from the Windows XP firewall which I'm trying to find lines that have both DROP and an IP and a port number. My regex-fu is weak and I'm assuming this is the reason I'm struggling. The words "DROP", "10.1.1.1" (for example) and "8801" need to be found on the same line and may be spread across the line and separated by one or more other words. Any help (or suggestions of another method to do this) are much appreciated.

    - by user246114
Hi, I want to find an element by class name. I know it will appear in a particular parent div, so rather than search the entire dom, I'd like to search only the particular div. I am trying this, but does not seem to be the correct syntax: var element = $("#parentDiv").(".myClassNameOfInterest"); what's the right way to do that? Thanks
