Does anyone ever found/used an ASP.NET application similar to Joomla?
I need to set up a quick and dirty CMS on a Windows Server and our client doesn't want us to use something else than ASP.NET.
Thanks!
ALTER TABLE can easily take a few days - and during this time there's a non-negligible chance of connection getting terminated due to network problems. Is it possible to start ALTER TABLE (or CREATE TABLE ... SELECT ...; or some other very long running query) and leave it running without keeping connection open all the time?
(the obvious solution of screen + console mysql client won't easily work as there's no ssh running on that server, only mysqld).
I want to put an unique image (1x1) on an e-mail marketing (not spam) of my client. Just like www.spypig.com, I'd like to use it to know how many people have actually read the e-mail. I guess I'll have to check how many times this unique image has been accessed, but I can't figure out how to do it.
So my question is: Is there a way to check how many times an image file was accessed using ASP.NET/C#?
Thank you
I need to debug a web service. I want to point my client app to the proxy URL and point the proxy to the real service URL and see all requests/responses. I know I could do network sniffing (Wireshark/Ethereal) but isn't there a simple "proxy" app that can do this? I found trivialproxy but the links are broken :(
I have an ASP.NET web application for data entry, and we have big lists of radiobuttons, and long lists of checkboxes, in some sections.
The client wants to be able to be able to navigate and manipulate these controls with their keyboard, like the tab/space/enter/right-left-up-down-arrow-keys. Are there any ASP.NET controls that I can use?
Is there a way in TortoiseSVN - without the regular svn client binaries being installed on the system - to detect an orphaned checkout's revision number?
"Orphaned" meaning that the source it was checked out from no longer exists.

Hi,
for school im writing an introduction to internet concepts,
what should be the first thing to explain?
Maybe client-server relation, TCP/IP protocol or something else?
A client of mine needs the ability to expire pages on specific dates. When that date arrives, the page should be inaccessible (possibly switch to a non-published state) and should not appear in all menus.
Any idea how to go about this?
I am building a GAE site that uses AJAX/JSON for almost all its tasks including building the UI elements, all interactions and client-server requests. What is a good way to test it for highloads so that I could have some statistics about how much resources 1000 average users per some period of time would take. I think I can create some Python functions for this purpose. What can you advise? Thanks.
I have a TCPclient written on Ruby. I want to use it in background. Currently it has a loop:
loop do
end
So i can run a client, and it works forever.
Is there a way to run in as a service, and write a pid to file, then i'll able to kill that process by pid?
I am in the process of creating a Ruby on rails portal
This portal requires a lot of data feeding by the site owner's back-office personnel.
My client has this problem :
the office staff should not be able to access the back office interface from any other than his office computers
I have no idea how to achieve this. Is there a method for this?
Thanks in advance.
So I've read the two related questions for calculating a trend line for a graph, but I'm still lost.
I have an array of xy coordinates, and I want to come up with another array of xy coordinates (can be fewer coordinates) that represent a logarithmic trend line using PHP.
I'm passing these arrays to javascript to plot graphs on the client side.
I am working on my first Drupal project on XAMPP in my MacBook. It's a prototype and receives positive feedback from my client.
I am going to deploy the project on a Linux VPS two weeks later. Is there a better way than 're-do'ing everything on the server from scratch?
install Drupal
download modules (CCK, Views, Date, Calendar)
create the Contents
...
Thanks
Hi,
with html forms we can upload a file from a client to a server with enctype="multipart/form-data", input type="file" and so on.
Is there a way to have a file already ON the server and transfer it to another server the same way?
Thanks for hints.

It can be done with the webbrowser module by opening a 'mailto:' URI. But, is there a better and direct way to do this like java's Desktop.mail(URI).
Thanks in advance.
I have a client who is wanting to create a link which contains product codes so that his customers hit a page with just those products displayed in an attempt to increase conversion rates from affilliate sites.
My question is whats the best way to send these multiple products in a single URL
For example:
http://www.mydomain.co.uk/bespoke-list.php?catNo=234-324-232-343
Obviously then the site would grab the codes from the string and display them...
We're going to be using PHP!
Thanks in advance.
Hello
Is it possible to return multiple JSON objects in the request header with Struts1? I am presently returning a single JSON objects, however the need now is to return a second data structure. All the client-side processing works perfectly for the single data structure in the single JSON objects, I really do not want to complicate it by putting two hetrogenous data structures in a single return JSON object. tia.
Hi,
I have file upload UI element in which the user will upload images. Here I have to control the validate the height and width of the image in client side. Is it possible to find the size of the image having only the file path in JS?
I'm using Forms authentication in ASP.NET MVC website and I store user account login name in AuthCookie like this:
FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(account.Login, false);
I want to ask if there is a possibility that user on client side will somehow manage to change his login name in AuthCookie and thus he will be for example impersonated as someone with higher privileges and authorized to do more actions than he is normally supposed to have. Also is it better to save in this cookie user account login name or user account ID number?
I'm uploading multiple files using FtpWebRequest.
But for every file I'm opening and closing a connection.
How can I upload multiple files using the same connection?
Like a ftp client application, connect using username and password, change directory, upload file1, upload file2, upload file3, disconnect.
I have a large table (300 million lines) that I would like to dump to a csv - I need to do some processing that cannot be done with SQL. Right now I am using Squirrel as a client, and it does not apparently deal very well with large datasets - at least as far as I can tell from my own (limited) experience. If I run the query on the actual host, will it use less memory? Thanks for any help.
