  • Windows 7 / TCP/IP network share guide - looking for to resolve failure to mount lacie network drive but works on XP,Linux,Mac.

    Can anyone advise me of a really good, readable, Windows 7 TCP/IP network share guide, book, or reference. I want this because I cannot mount my Lacie 2big ethernet network drive in Windows 7 (32 bit home), but I can mount it in Windows XP Home 32bit, Ubuntu Linux 10.04 and Apple MacOS X. This drive is being mounted via the accompanying Lacie Ethernet Agent in XP (which I believe uses "Bonjour" protocol), on Mac and Linux it works without further need for software. Another Super User user has the same problem, but no answer: Trouble accessing network drives in Windows 7 I hope my take on the question shows a better willingness to investigate and do some digging - and therefore invite some suggestions to help with this. The drive is detected by Windows 7 (i.e. speech bubble "network drive found") but on trying to open an Explorer window, this remains blank with the Windows busy pointer. I'd prefer not to reinstall Windows 7 to see if that cures the problem, I'd rather understand what is happening/not happening, perhaps even compare differences with Windows XP. Suggestions, please for such guides or even the original problem itself.   • Alt+click-drag window resizing on a Mac? (Similar to X-Windows)

    Is there a way I can get this behavior on Mac OS? alt + right-click-drag will resize the window, relative to where you've clicked within the window and the window's center alt + left-click-drag will move the window, regardless of where you've clicked within the window.   • How can I migrate all keyboard shortcuts from one mac to another?

    I have a lot of custom keyboard shortcuts and will be migration Macs. I tested Migration Assistant and it did not seem to get these. I read somewhere that they are stored in the individual application's plist files in the ~/Library/Application Support folder but even after copying a few of these folders over the shortcuts do not seem to follow. How can I get all of the keyboard shortcuts migrated to a new mac?

  • Is this buffer overflow working on Mac OSX? [migrated]

    Was reading through some text and playing around with attempting to write past the size of an array in C i.e buffer overflow. The text indicates that whenever you attempt to write to say array[5] when the length of the array is 5 then you get a segmentation fault but I dont seem to be getting that When using the code below.   • On my Mac, under the 'Shared' folder it shows another computer in my house, am I hacked?

    I didnt' setup any connection to another computer in my house (its a PC), and I just noticed under my 'Shared' folder in the file explorer on my Mac laptop I see the name of the PC. How could this have shown up when I didn't even try to connect to it before? Could I possibly be hacked or is this normal it just scanned our internal wireless network? I havent' setup any kind of network really, just have a wireless modem that other computers share.

  • How can I develop for Safari 6 without buying a mac?

    I've always found that just developing in Windows, and using Safari for Windows has been sufficient. However, Safari 6 has now been released, and I've got at least one user who has contacted me, saying he's experienced problems with one of my sites on his new ipad.   • Is it possible to dual boot Mac OSX Lion with Ubuntu 12.04?

    I've read that it can be dangerous for your computer to try to run Ubuntu and that the safest option is to run it on an external hard drive. Is this true? (I don't want to run it through a Virtual Machine.) I would prefer to dual boot it, given that my hard drive has so much space. Update: So does this mean that even if I have Ubuntu installed, that my data would still be at risk due to, say, stability issues?

I've downloaded and installed Android SDK and NDK (under my "/Users/username/Android"). Installed all necessary packages under SDK and created an Emulator. Copied Cocos2D-x under "/Users/username/cocos2dx". Installed Eclipse IDE with ADT Plugin. Opened "Users/username/cocos2dx/tests/build_native.sh" and changed "NDK_ROOT_LOCAL=/Users/username/Android/android-ndk", "COCOS2DX_ROOT_LOCAL=/Users/username/cocos2dx" to the values shown. On running the script using Terminal it compiles test project. What's next?

  • Nec USB 3.0 controller drops connection - Ubuntu 12.04.1

    I have some serious problems with Technaxx pci-e 302p card. It has uPD720200a NEC chip with 4020 firmware. BIOS recognises it. Sometimes it recognises devices and system mounts them and are functional for few minutes, other times they can't be mount and error occours. After fresh install card worked fine, but after kernel and firmware update it behaves as mentioned.
