  • When sending headers to download a PDF, Safari appends .html

    - by alex
    Here is the request and response headers http://www.example.com/get/pdf GET /~get/pdf HTTP/1.1 Host: www.example.com User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive: 115 Connection: keep-alive Referer: http://www.example.com Cookie: etc HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Thu, 29 Apr 2010 02:20:43 GMT Server: Apache/2.2.14 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.14 OpenSSL/0.9.8i DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 X-Powered-By: Me Expires: Thu, 19 Nov 1981 08:52:00 GMT Pragma: no-cache Cache-Control: private Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="File #1.pdf" Content-Length: 18776 Keep-Alive: timeout=5, max=100 Connection: Keep-Alive Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8 ---------------------------------------------------------- Basically, the response headers are sent by DOMPDF's stream() method. In Firefox, the file is prompted as File #1.pdf. However, in Safari, the file is saved as File #1.pdf.html. Does anyone know why Safari is appending the html extension to the filename?

  • Sending mail issues. very confusing

    - by Dejan.S
    Hi my name is what, my name is who.. ops got carried away Now this might be a serverfault question and a stackoverflow question but I will go with it here because I don't really know the answer. I been sending mail a lot with asp.net before and never had problems like this before. I have setup a mail with this following code var list = new List<string> { "mail", "mail", "mail", "mail" }; var smtp = new SmtpClient("localhost", 25); var plainText = txtPlain.Text; var htmlText = Server.HtmlDecode(FCKeditor1.Value); foreach (var email in list) { var message = new MailMessage() { From = new MailAddress("my server mail"), ReplyTo = new MailAddress("mail") }; var mailMessage = Server.HtmlDecode(FCKeditor1.Value); message.To.Add(email); message.Subject = "Hi Enzorit"; message.Body = mailMessage; message.IsBodyHtml = true; message.BodyEncoding = System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding("iso-8859-2"); var alternateViewHtml = AlternateView.CreateAlternateViewFromString(htmlText, null, MediaTypeNames.Text.Html); var alternateViewPlainText = AlternateView.CreateAlternateViewFromString(plainText, null, MediaTypeNames.Text.Plain); message.AlternateViews.Add(alternateViewHtml); message.AlternateViews.Add(alternateViewPlainText); smtp.Send(message); } now the issue becomes that some email clients get just plain while some get the html. Like on my hotmail on the computer i get the html but on my iphone i get the plain one. Why is that? and like that wasn't enough The mail wont deliver to some mails like any .pl email. Now here is where I am thinking that it might be a reverse DNS setup thing on my windows server 2008 issue + some company mails, it becomes spam, i had same issue with hotmail but that was solved when I added the plain. Anybody have had the problem before? I am very thankful for any answer I get.. thanks

  • Prototype's Ajax.Updater not actually updating on IE7.

    - by Ben S
    I am trying to submit a form using Ajax.Updater and have the result of that update a div element in my page. Everything works great in IE6, FF3, Chrome and Opera. However, In IE7 it sporadically works, but more often than not, it just doesn't seem to do anything. Here's the javascript: function testcaseHistoryUpdate(testcase, form) { document.body.style.cursor = 'wait'; var param = Form.serialize(form); new Ajax.Updater("content", "results/testcaseHistory/" + testcase, { onComplete: function(transport) {document.body.style.cursor = 'auto'}, parameters: param, method: 'post' } ); } I've verified using alert() calls that param is set to what I expect. I've read in many places that IE7 caches aggressively and that it might be the root cause, however every after adding the following to my php response, it still doesn't work. header("Last-Modified: " . gmdate("D, d M Y H:i:s") . " GMT"); header("Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate"); header("Cache-Control: post-check=0, pre-check=0", false); header("Pragma: no-cache"); To further try to fix a caching issue I've tried adding a bogus parameter which just gets filled with a random value to have different parameters for every call, but that didn't help. I've also found this, where UTF-8 seemed to be causing an issue with IE7, but my page is clearly marked: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with IE7 as opposed to the other browsers I tested to cause this kind of issue?

  • Frameset isn't working in IE

    - by Cameroon
    First of all, why use a frame set in the first place you ask? answer: Because my boss told me. That been said, I have 2 files. Index.html and Head.html. Contents of index.html: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Frameset//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/1999/REC-html401-19991224/frameset.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" /> <title>Site Title</title> </head> <frameset rows="122,*" FRAMEBORDER=NO FRAMESPACING=2 BORDER=0> <frame name="t" src="head.html" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0"> <frame name="b" src="http://www.website.com"> </frameset> <noframes> <p>You have frames turned off on your browser, please turn it on and reload this page.</p> </noframes> </html> Contents of head.html: <div style="border-bottom:2px solid #000;height:120px"> <center>This is the frame head.</center> </div> The code works fine in all browsers except Internet Explorer 7 and 8 (I don't care about 6). Is there anything I am doing wrong, and if not then can the same effect be achieved without frames and if so how?

  • Sharepoint designer is replacing french characters with &#65533;

    - by chris
    First of all, I'm not a web designer, I'm a programmer, so I'm working a bit out of my knowledge area. However, as the person in my office who has some working knowledge of French, I'm stuck with this issue. The Problem: Sharepoint Designer is replacing all French accented characters with the &#65533; (square box or diamond-? ) character. It doesn't appear to matter if I enter the 'é' character as alt-130 (in either design or source or as &eacute; Everything works fine when editing, but when the file is saved and loaded into a browser, it replaces the characters. When reloading into designer, the file shows the 65533 symbol. EDIT: More info. I use &#233; and save, close SP designer, Reloading SP designer will show the é (instead of the code) in source. Next reload will have replaced it with &#65533; Question 1: (more important) HOW DO I STOP THIS!? Question 2: (more interesting) Why does this happen? Charset is iso-8859-1

  • Sending mail with a Php with a pdf attachment

    - by Jake
    Hi, I'm trying to send an email from the php mail command. I've been able to what I've tried so far, but can't seem to get it to work with an attachment. I've looked around the web and the best code I've found led me to this: $fileatt_name = 'JuneFlyer.pdf'; $fileatt_type = 'application/pdf'; $fileatt = 'JuneFlyer.pdf'; $file = fopen($fileatt,'rb'); $data = fread($file,filesize($fileatt)); $data = chunk_split(base64_encode($data)); $MAEmail = "[email protected]"; mail("$email_address", "$subject", "$message", "From: ".$MAEmail."\n". "MIME-Version: 1.0\n". "Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1". "--{$mime_boundary}\n" . "Content-Type: {$fileatt_type};\n" . " name=\"{$fileatt_name}\"\n" . "Content-Disposition: attachment;\n" . " filename=\"{$fileatt_name}\"\n" . "Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64\n\n" .$data. "\n\n" ); There are two problems when I do this. First, the contents of the email dissappear. Second, there is an error on the attachment. "Adobe Reader could not open June_flyer.pdf because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)" Any ideas of how to deal with this? Thanks, JB

  • How to access this data in PHP?

    - by George Edison
    Okay. Now I give up. I have been playing with this for hours. I have a variable name $data. The variable contains these contents: array ( 'headers' => array ( 'content-type' => 'multipart/alternative; boundary="_689e1a7d-7a0a-442a-bd6c-a1fb1dc2993e_"', ), 'ctype_parameters' => array ( 'boundary' => '_689e1a7d-7a0a-442a-bd6c-a1fb1dc2993e_', ), 'parts' => array ( 0 => stdClass::__set_state(array( 'headers' => array ( 'content-type' => 'text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"', 'content-transfer-encoding' => 'quoted-printable', ), 'ctype_primary' => 'text', )), ), ) I removed some non-essential data. I want to access the headers value (on the second line above) - simple: $data->headers I want to access the headers value (on the fourteenth line after the stdClass:: stuff) - how? How can I possibly access the values within the stdClass::__set_state section? I tried var_export($data->parts); but all I get is NULL

  • Where can I find a quick reference for standard Basic?

    - by Steve314
    The reason? Pure nostalgia. Anyway, there was a standard for Basic that was published in the late 80s or early 90s. It was probably ISO/IEC 10279:1991, but I don't have access to that and cannot be sure. Whatever this standard was, some of the syntax made its way into Borlands Turbo Basic and Microsofts Visual Basic. I never learned any significant amount of VB, but Turbo Basic is one of those things I played with in my mis-spent youth. At one time, my main reference was an article published in one of the main programming periodicals - maybe Personal Computer World, maybe Byte. A scan of that article (if anyone can even identify it) would be great, but all I really want is a few pages quick reference of that standard syntax. Must be free (I'm not that nostalgic), but it must describe the standard syntax - the whole point is to sort out what is standard as opposed to VB or whatever. EDIT The more I think about this, the more convinced I am that this standard was available around 1987 or 1988. Maybe it was the earlier non-full version of the standard above, or maybe it was pre-acceptance of the standard.

  • What is wrong with this mail header text?

    - by dnagirl
    The following $header is being sent via PHP's mail($to,$subject,$content,$header) command. The mail arrives and appears to have an attachment. But the mail text is empty as is the file. I think this has something to do with line spacing but I can't see the problem. I have tried putting the contents (between the boundaries) in $contents rather than appending it to $header. It doesn't make a difference. Any thoughts? • strict aliasing and alignment

    - by cooky451
    I need a safe way to alias between arbitrary POD types, conforming to ISO-C++11 explicitly considering 3.10/10 and 3.11 of n3242 or later. There are a lot of questions about strict aliasing here, most of them regarding C and not C++. I found a "solution" for C which uses unions, probably using this section union type that includes one of the aforementioned types among its elements or nonstatic data members From that I built this. #include <iostream> template <typename T, typename U> T& access_as(U* p) { union dummy_union { U dummy; T destination; }; dummy_union* u = (dummy_union*)p; return u->destination; } struct test { short s; int i; }; int main() { int buf[2]; static_assert(sizeof(buf) >= sizeof(double), ""); static_assert(sizeof(buf) >= sizeof(test), ""); access_as<double>(buf) = 42.1337; std::cout << access_as<double>(buf) << '\n'; access_as<test>(buf).s = 42; access_as<test>(buf).i = 1234; std::cout << access_as<test>(buf).s << '\n'; std::cout << access_as<test>(buf).i << '\n'; } My question is, just to be sure, is this program legal according to the standard?* It doesn't give any warnings whatsoever and works fine when compiling with MinGW/GCC 4.6.2 using: g++ -std=c++0x -Wall -Wextra -O3 -fstrict-aliasing -o alias.exe alias.cpp * Edit: And if not, how could one modify this to be legal?

  • sending HTML email with a variable in the URL

  • How can I use PHP Mail() function within PHP-FPM? On Nginx?

    - by TheBlackBenzKid
    I have searched everywhere for this and I really want to resolve this. In the past I just end up using an SMTP service like SendGrid for PHP and a mailing plugin like SwiftMailer. However I want to use PHP. Basically my setup (I am new to server setup, and this is my personal setup following a tutorial) Nginx Rackspace Cloud PHP 5.3 PHP-FPM Ubuntu 11.04 My phpinfo() returns this about the Mail entries: mail.log no value mail.add_x_header On mail.force_extra_parameters no value sendmail_from no value sendmail_path /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i SMTP localhost smtp_port 25 Can someone help me to as why Mail() will not work - my script is working on all other sites, it is a normal mail command. Do I need to setup logs or enable some PHP port on the server? My Sample script <? # FORMS VARS // $to = $customers_email; // $to = $customers_email; $to = $_GET["customerEmailFromForm"]; $subject = "Thank you for contacting Real-Domain.com"; $message = " <html> <head> </head> <body> Thanks, your message was sent and our team will be in touch shortly. <img src='http://cdn.com/emails/thank_you.jpg' /> </body> </html> "; $headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0" . "\r\n"; $headers .= "Content-type:text/html;charset=iso-8859-1" . "\r\n"; $headers .= 'From: <[email protected]>' . "\r\n"; // SEND MAIL mail($to,$subject,$message,$headers); ?> Thanks

  • Problem using NSXMLParser with NOAA data on iPhone

    - by Amagrammer
    Can anyone help me see why NSXMLParser is not causing these methods parser:didStartElement:namespaceURI:qualifiedName:attributes: parser:didEndElement:namespaceURI:qualifiedName:attributes: to fire for the part of the following data: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?><SOAP-ENV:Envelope SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"><SOAP-ENV:Body><ns1:NDFDgenResponse xmlns:ns1=""><dwmlOut xsi:type="xsd:string"><?xml version="1.0"?> <dwml version="1.0" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://www.nws.noaa.gov/forecasts/xml/DWMLgen/schema/DWML.xsd"> (body excluded) </dwml> </dwmlOut></ns1:NDFDgenResponse></SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Envelope> I'm not an XML expert, but to me, the part looks like just a regular element, to be parsed just like the parts before it. I do get two parser:parseErrorOccurred: errors, #200 and #201, but they occur during the parsing of the <SOAP-ENV:Body> element, not the element, so I'm not sure if they are relevant. Thanks for any help you can give me.

  • 'JQuery' is undefined

    - by Raja
    I am working on a ASP.net project created with local file system settings. I am using MVC and Jquery. Jquery is working fine when I run the application in debug mode i.e. in ASP.net Development server. I am trying to host the application in IIS 7. In hosted mode, it does not recognize Jquery and gives scripting error 'Jquery is undefined'. The locations of the script files is unchanged in both modes. Can anybody have any clue what can be the reason and how to solve this. My code look like this; <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <script src="../../Scripts/MicrosoftAjax.debug.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="../../Scripts/MicrosoftMvcAjax.debug.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.2.6.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <!-- YUI Styles --> <link href="../../Content/reset.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="../../Content/fonts.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="../../Content/grids.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <!-- /YUI Styles --> <link href="../../Content/knowledgebase.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script type="text/javascript"> //this hides the javascript warning if javascript is enabled (function($) { $(document).ready(function() { $('#jswarning').hide(); }); })(jQuery); </script> <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="ScriptContent" runat="server" /> ....

  • Email Tracking - GMail

    - by Abs
    Hello all, I am creating my own email tracking system for email marketing tracking. I have been able to determine each persons email client they are using by using the http referrer but for some reason GMAIL does not send a HTTP_REFERRER at all! So I am trying to find another way of identifying when gmail requests a transparent image from my server. I get the following headers print_r($_SERVER);: DOCUMENT_ROOT = /usr/local/apache/htdocs GATEWAY_INTERFACE = CGI/1.1 HTTP_ACCEPT = */* HTTP_ACCEPT_CHARSET = ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.3 HTTP_ACCEPT_ENCODING = gzip,deflate,sdch HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE = en-GB,en-US;q=0.8,en;q=0.6 HTTP_CONNECTION = keep-alive HTTP_COOKIE = __utmz=156230011.1290976484.1.1.utmcsr=(direct)|utmccn=(direct)|utmcmd=(none); __utma=156230011.422791272.1290976484.1293034866.1293050468.7 HTTP_HOST = xx.xxx.xx.xxx HTTP_USER_AGENT = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/8.0.552.237 Safari/534.10 PATH = /bin:/usr/bin QUERY_STRING = i=MTA= REDIRECT_STATUS = 200 REMOTE_ADDR = xx.xxx.xx.xxx REMOTE_PORT = 61296 REQUEST_METHOD = GET Is there anything of use in that list? Or is there something else I can do to actually get the http referrer, if not how are other ESPs managing to find whether gmail was used to view an email? Btw, I appreciate it if we can hold back on whether this is ethical or not as many ESPs do this already, I just don't want to pay for their service and I want to do it internally. Thanks all for any implementation advice. Update Just thought I would update this question and make it clearer in light of the bounty. I would like to find out when a user opens my email when sent to a GMail inbox. Assume, I have the usual transparent image tracking and the user does not block images. I would like to do this with the single request and the header details I get when the transparent image is requested.

  • conditional selection of decimal-format in xslt

    - by Jose L Martinez-Avial
    Hi all, I'm trying to modify the decimal-format of a stylesheet based on certain information of an XML. More exaclty, I've a XML like this <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <REPORT> <LANGUAGE>2</LANGUAGE> <MYVALUE>123456.78</MYVALUE> </REPORT> I'm trying to define the decimal format as european if the language is 2, and default otherwse. So I've created the following template <xsl:template match="REPORT"> <xsl:if test="$language=2"> <xsl:decimal-format decimal-separator=',' grouping-separator='.' /> </xsl:if> <xsl:value-of select ="format-number(MYVALUE,'###.###,00')"/> </xsl:template> So it shows the number in european format or in standard format. But I'm getting the following error xsl:decimal-format is not allowed in this position in the stylesheet! If I try to put the decimal-format outside the template, then I get the message that the xsl:if is not allowed in this position in the sthylsheet. How can I change the decimal-format based in the XML? Thanks Jose
