XDCAM HD 422 frame setting

I have a question that you can hopefully answer me. I am trying to write a ffmpeg script that transcodes my clips in XDCAM HD 422 1080p24, and it works fine as long as the original file has 24 fps, but is there a way that I can set an option which says "even if the original file has 25 fps I will transcode it in 24 fps". I have tried it, like I said it works fine as long as the original clip has 24 frames, but as soon as the original clip has another framerate, he can not convert it to 24 frames. I have tried using
-r 24
which normally settles the framerate, but here it doesn't work. I am using the
-vtag xd5c
