  • Windows 7 Upgrade Fail from Home Premium to Ultimate Professional

    - by Michael S-B
I had a hard drive crash, which meant I had to install a new HDD in my Dell 64-Bit XPS 1350 (lovely computer). I had previously been running Windows 7 Ultimate Professional which I had upgraded from the OEM Win 7 Home Premium by means of a disk I purchased from my university. Using the Recovery disk from Dell I installed Windows 7 Home Premium successfully on the new hard drive, but when I have tried to upgrade via my disk to Ultimate it installs the whole thing, says its complete, but when I reboot, tells me: "This version of Windows could not be installed. Your previous version of Windows has been restored, and you can continue to use it." I've installed the drivers from Dell's driver disk, but still to no avail. I've also used Driver Robot to update all my drivers. I can't find a .dmp file anywhere under C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources but I did find this file under C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther. setupact.log https://www.dropbox.com/s/yzy7fhkxlzc235y/setupact.log If anyone could please advise me what I need to do to fix Windows so it will upgrade properly, I would greatly appreciate it.

  • Including an embedded framework using a cross-project-reference: Header no such file or directory

    - by d11wtq
I'm trying to create a Cocoa framework by using a cross-project reference in Xcode. I have 2 projects: one for the framework; one for the application that will use the framework. This framework is not intended to be stored within the system; it is an embedded framework that lives within the application bundle. I have successfully made the cross-project reference, marked the framework as being a dependency of my target, added a Copy Files build phase that puts the framework in Contents/Frameworks/ and added the framework to the linker phase (I checked the little "Target" checkbox; I've also done it manually by dragging the framework into the linker phase). My framework's install directory is correctly set to @executable_path/../Frameworks. However, when I try to build my app it: a) Correctly builds the framework first b) Correctly copies the framework c) Errors because it cannot find the master header file in my framework I have verified that the header is there. I can see it in the app product that is partially built. ls build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h build/Debug/CioccolataTest.webapp/Contents/Frameworks/Cioccolata.framework/Headers/Cioccolata.h I have been able to successfully build the app by copying my framework into /Library/Frameworks (I can then delete it again after the successful build), but this is a workaround, I'm looking to find it out why Xcode doesn't find the framework's master header file without it being copied to a system directory. Is copying it to the app bundle during the build not sufficient? Here's the full build transcript if it's any help (it's just a Hello World app right now, so not much going on here): Build Cioccolata of project Cioccolata with configuration Debug SymLink • Problem with cometd and jetty 6 / 7

    - by Ceilingfish
Hi chaps, I'm trying to get started with cometd (http://cometd.org/) and jetty 6 or 7, but I seem to be having problems. I've got an ant script that packages my code up into a war with the cometd 1.1.1 binaries and jetty binaries that are appropriate to the version of jetty I deploy the war to (so 7.1.2.v20100523 binaries when I deploy to jetty 7.1.2.v20100523 and 6.1.24 when I deploy to 6.1.24). I first tried getting a setup with version 7.1.2.v20100523, but when I tried to deploy I got a very long stack trace sample of which is: 2010-05-26 15:32:12.906:WARN::Problem processing jar entry • dynamic multiple instance of swfupload (firefox vs IE)

    - by jean27
We have this dynamic uploader which creates a new instance of swfupload. I'm a little bit confused with the outputs produced by firefox and ie. Firefox have the same output as chrome, safari and opera. Whenever I clicked a button for adding a new instance, the previous instances of swfupload in firefox refresh while IE don't. I have this debug information: For Firefox: SWF DEBUG OUTPUT IN FIREFOX ---SWFUpload Instance Info--- Version: 2.2.0 2009-03-25 Movie Name: SWFUpload_0 Settings: upload_url: /86707/listing/asynchronousuploadphoto/87085/15/E1ptdReNMwcU/cUkx4p689ChPRZYMKkLZQ== flash_url: /content/swfupload.swf?preventswfcaching=1272512466022 use_query_string: false requeue_on_error: false http_success: assume_success_timeout: 0 file_post_name: Filedata post_params: [object Object] file_types: .jpg;.gif;.png;.bmp file_types_description: Image Files file_size_limit: 1MB file_upload_limit: 1 file_queue_limit: 1 debug: true prevent_swf_caching: true button_placeholder_id: file-1_swf button_placeholder: Not Set button_image_url: /content/images/blankButton.png button_width: 109 button_height: 22 button_text: button_text_style: color: #000000; font-size: 16pt; button_text_top_padding: 1 button_text_left_padding: 30 button_action: -110 button_disabled: false custom_settings: [object Object] Event Handlers: swfupload_loaded_handler assigned: true file_dialog_start_handler assigned: true file_queued_handler assigned: true file_queue_error_handler assigned: true upload_start_handler assigned: true upload_progress_handler assigned: true upload_error_handler assigned: true upload_success_handler assigned: true upload_complete_handler assigned: true debug_handler assigned: true SWF DEBUG: SWFUpload Init CompleteSWF DEBUG: SWF DEBUG: ----- SWF DEBUG OUTPUT ---- SWF DEBUG: Build Number: SWFUPLOAD 2.2.0 SWF DEBUG: movieName: SWFUpload_0 SWF DEBUG: Upload URL: /86707/listing/asynchronousuploadphoto/87085/15/E1ptdReNMwcU/cUkx4p689ChPRZYMKkLZQ== SWF DEBUG: File Types String: .jpg;.gif;.png;.bmp SWF DEBUG: Parsed File Types: jpg, gif, png, bmp SWF DEBUG: HTTP Success: 0 SWF DEBUG: File Types Description: Image Files (.jpg;.gif;.png;.bmp) SWF DEBUG: File Size Limit: 1048576 bytes SWF DEBUG: File Upload Limit: 1 SWF DEBUG: File Queue Limit: 1 SWF DEBUG: Post Params: SWF DEBUG: ----- END SWF DEBUG OUTPUT ---- SWF DEBUG: SWF DEBUG: Event: fileDialogStart : Browsing files. • HTTP Builder/Groovy - lost 302 (redirect) handling?

    - by Misha Koshelev
Dear All: I am reading here http://groovy.codehaus.org/modules/http-builder/doc/handlers.html "In cases where a response sends a redirect status code, this is handled internally by Apache HttpClient, which by default will simply follow the redirect by re-sending the request to the new URL. You do not need to do anything special in order to follow 302 responses." This seems to work fine when I simply use the get() or post() methods without a closure. However, when I use a closure, I seem to lose 302 handling. Is there some way I can handle this myself? Thank you p.s. Here is my log output showing it is a 302 response [java] FINER: resp.statusLine: "HTTP/1.1 302 Found" Here is the relevant code: // Copyright (C) 2010 Misha Koshelev. • Snort's problems in generating alert from Darpa 1998 intrusion detection dataset.

    - by manofseven2
Hi. I’m working on DARPA 1998 intrusion detection dataset. When I run snort on this dataset (outside.tcpdump file), snort don’t generate complete list of alerts. It means snort start from last few hours of tcpdump file and generate alerts about this section of file and all of packets in first hours are ignored. Another problem in generatin alert is in time stamp of generated alerts. This means when I run snort on a specific day of dataset, snort insert incorrect time stamp for that alert. The configuration and command line statement and other information about my research are: Snort version: 2.8.6 Operating system: windows XP Rule version: snortrules-snapshot-2860_s.tar.gz -———————————————————————— Command line: snort_2.8.6 c D:\programs\Snort_2.8.6\snort\etc\snort.conf -r d:\users\amir\docs\darpa\training_data\week_3\monday\outside.tcpdump -l D:\users\amir\current-task\research\thesis\snort\890230 -————————————————————————— Snort.config Hi. • Python regex to parse text file, get the items in list and count the list

    - by Nemo
I have a text file which contains some data. I m particularly interested in finding the count of the number of items in v_dims v_dims pattern in my text file looks like this : v_dims={ "Sales", "Product Family", "Sales Organization", "Region", "Sales Area", "Sales office", "Sales Division", "Sales Person", "Sales Channel", "Sales Order Type", "Sales Number", "Sales Person", "Sales Quantity", "Sales Amount" } So I m thinking of getting all the elements in v_dims and dumping them out in a Python list. Then compute the len(mylist) to get the count of the items. The challenge is in getting all the elements of v_dims from my text file and putting them in an empty list. I m particularly interested in items in v_dims in my text file. The text file has data in the form of v_dims pattern i showed in my original post. Some data has nested patterns of v_dims. Thanks. Here's what I have tried and failed. Any help is appreciated. TIA. import re fname = "C:\Users\XXXX\Test.mrk" with open(fname, "r") as fo: content_as_string = fo.read() match = re.findall(r'v_dims={\"(.+?)\"}',content_as_string) Though I have a big text file, • javax.validation.ConstraintViolationException: validation failed for classes during update time for groups

    - by Tim
Hello all! I have a Java / Spring MVC 3 application, using Hibernate and a MySQL database. In my controller, I have this source code: Set<ConstraintViolation<Person>> failures = validator.validate(p); if (failures.isEmpty()) { Project project = this.projectService.findProjectById(projectid); Person newPerson = this.personService.addPerson(p); Set<Person> persons = this.personService.getAllPersonsByProjectId(projectid); persons.add(newPerson); project.setPersons(persons); Set<ConstraintViolation<Project>> failures1 = validator.validate(project); if (!failures1.isEmpty()) { System.out.println("ERROR"); } else { System.out.println("NO ERROR"); } this.projectService.updateProject(project); return Collections.singletonMap("person", newPerson); } Project and Person are a many-to-many relation annotated with @manytomany and Project is the mapping owner. The new Person is added, but on the line with this.projectService.updateProject(project); I get an error. What it does it this in a Dao Hibernate implementation: public void updateProject(Project p) { SessionFactory sessionFactory = HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory(); Session sess = sessionFactory.getCurrentSession(); Transaction tx = sess.beginTransaction(); sess.update(p); tx.commit(); } It failed on the line tx.commit();. My check with if (!failures1.isEmpty()) { tell me that there are nor errors in my project. So what's wrong here? And why there is a validation of my project? I did not call a validation method... so why is there a org.hibernate.cfg.beanvalidation.BeanValidationEventListener.validate()? I hope, someone can help me how to fix this! Best Regards, Tim. • Processing incorrect mac addresses from 802.11 frames with pcap

    - by Quentin Swain
    I'm working throurgh a project with pcap and wireless. Following an example posted in response to oe of my earlier questions I am trying to extract the mac addresses from wireless frames. I have created structures for the radiotap header and a basic management frame. For some reason when it comes to trying to output the mac addresses I am printing out the wrong data. When I compare to wireshark I don't see why the radio tap data is printing out correctly but the mac addresses are not. I don't see any additional padding in the hex dump that wireshark displays when i look at the packets and compare the packets that I have captured. I am somewhat famialar with c but not an expert so maybe I am not using the pointers and structures properly could someone help show me what I am doing wrong? Thanks, Quentin // main.c // MacSniffer // #include <pcap.h> #include <string.h> #include <stdlib.h> #define MAXBYTES2CAPTURE 65535 #ifdef WORDS_BIGENDIAN typedef struct frame_control { unsigned int subtype:4; /*frame subtype field*/ unsigned int protoVer:2; /*frame type field*/ unsigned int version:2; /*protocol version*/ unsigned int order:1; unsigned int protected:1; unsigned int moreDate:1; unsigned int power_management:1; unsigned int retry:1; unsigned int moreFrag:1; unsigned int fromDS:1; unsigned int toDS:1; }frame_control; struct ieee80211_radiotap_header{ u_int8_t it_version; u_int8_t it_pad; u_int16_t it_len; u_int32_t it_present; u_int64_t MAC_timestamp; u_int8_t flags; u_int8_t dataRate; u_int16_t channelfrequency; u_int16_t channFreq_pad; u_int16_t channelType; u_int16_t channType_pad; u_int8_t ssiSignal; u_int8_t ssiNoise; u_int8_t antenna; }; #else typedef struct frame_control { unsigned int protoVer:2; /* protocol version*/ unsigned int type:2; /*frame type field (Management,Control,Data)*/ unsigned int subtype:4; /* frame subtype*/ unsigned int toDS:1; /* frame coming from Distribution system */ unsigned int fromDS:1; /*frame coming from Distribution system */ unsigned int moreFrag:1; /* More fragments?*/ unsigned int retry:1; /*was this frame retransmitted*/ unsigned int powMgt:1; /*Power Management*/ unsigned int moreDate:1; /*More Date*/ unsigned int protectedData:1; /*Protected Data*/ unsigned int order:1; /*Order*/ }frame_control; struct ieee80211_radiotap_header{ u_int8_t it_version; u_int8_t it_pad; u_int16_t it_len; u_int32_t it_present; u_int64_t MAC_timestamp; u_int8_t flags; u_int8_t dataRate; u_int16_t channelfrequency; u_int16_t channelType; int ssiSignal:8; int ssiNoise:8; }; #endif struct wi_frame { u_int16_t fc; u_int16_t wi_duration; u_int8_t wi_add1[6]; u_int8_t wi_add2[6]; u_int8_t wi_add3[6]; u_int16_t wi_sequenceControl; // u_int8_t wi_add4[6]; //unsigned int qosControl:2; //unsigned int frameBody[23124]; }; void processPacket(u_char *arg, const struct pcap_pkthdr* pkthdr, const u_char* packet) { int i= 0, *counter = (int *) arg; struct ieee80211_radiotap_header *rh =(struct ieee80211_radiotap_header *)packet; struct wi_frame *fr= (struct wi_frame *)(packet + rh->it_len); u_char *ptr; //printf("Frame Type: %d",fr->wi_fC->type); printf("Packet count: %d\n", ++(*counter)); printf("Received Packet Size: %d\n", pkthdr->len); if(rh->it_version != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Version: %d\n",rh->it_version); } if(rh->it_pad!=NULL) { printf("Radiotap Pad: %d\n",rh->it_pad); } if(rh->it_len != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Length: %d\n",rh->it_len); } if(rh->it_present != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Present: %c\n",rh->it_present); } if(rh->MAC_timestamp != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Timestamp: %u\n",rh->MAC_timestamp); } if(rh->dataRate != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Data Rate: %u\n",rh->dataRate); } if(rh->channelfrequency != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Channel Freq: %u\n",rh->channelfrequency); } if(rh->channelType != NULL) { printf("Radiotap Channel Type: %06x\n",rh->channelType); } if(rh->ssiSignal != NULL) { printf("Radiotap SSI signal: %d\n",rh->ssiSignal); } if(rh->ssiNoise != NULL) { printf("Radiotap SSI Noise: %d\n",rh->ssiNoise); } ptr = fr->wi_add1; int k= 6; printf("Destination Address:"); do{ printf("%s%X",(k==6)?"   • Atmospheric scattering OpenGL 3.3

    - by user1419305
    Im currently trying to convert a shader by Sean O'Neil to version 330 so i can try it out in a application im writing. Im having some issues with deprecated functions, so i replaced them, but im almost completely new to glsl, so i probably did a mistake somewhere. Original shaders can be found here: http://www.gamedev.net/topic/592043-solved-trying-to-use-atmospheric-scattering-oneill-2004-but-get-black-sphere/ My horrible attempt at converting them: Vertex Shader: #version 330 core layout(location = 0) in vec3 vertexPosition_modelspace; //layout(location = 1) in vec2 vertexUV; layout(location = 2) in vec3 vertexNormal_modelspace; uniform vec3 v3CameraPos; uniform vec3 v3LightPos; uniform vec3 v3InvWavelength; uniform float fCameraHeight; uniform float fCameraHeight2; uniform float fOuterRadius; uniform float fOuterRadius2; uniform float fInnerRadius; uniform float fInnerRadius2; uniform float fKrESun; uniform float fKmESun; uniform float fKr4PI; uniform float fKm4PI; uniform float fScale; uniform float fScaleDepth; uniform float fScaleOverScaleDepth; // passing in matrixes for transformations uniform mat4 MVP; uniform mat4 V; uniform mat4 M; const int nSamples = 4; const float fSamples = 4.0; out vec3 v3Direction; out vec4 gg_FrontColor; out vec4 gg_FrontSecondaryColor; float scale(float fCos) { float x = 1.0 - fCos; return fScaleDepth * exp(-0.00287 + x*(0.459 + x*(3.83 + x*(-6.80 + x*5.25)))); } void main(void) { vec3 v3Pos = vertexPosition_modelspace; vec3 v3Ray = v3Pos - v3CameraPos; float fFar = length(v3Ray); v3Ray /= fFar; vec3 v3Start = v3CameraPos; float fHeight = length(v3Start); float fDepth = exp(fScaleOverScaleDepth * (fInnerRadius - fCameraHeight)); float fStartAngle = dot(v3Ray, v3Start) / fHeight; float fStartOffset = fDepth*scale(fStartAngle); float fSampleLength = fFar / fSamples; float fScaledLength = fSampleLength * fScale; vec3 v3SampleRay = v3Ray * fSampleLength; vec3 v3SamplePoint = v3Start + v3SampleRay * 0.5; vec3 v3FrontColor = vec3(0.0, 0.0, 0.0); for(int i=0; i<nSamples; i++) { float fHeight = length(v3SamplePoint); float fDepth = exp(fScaleOverScaleDepth * (fInnerRadius - fHeight)); float fLightAngle = dot(v3LightPos, v3SamplePoint) / fHeight; float fCameraAngle = dot(v3Ray, v3SamplePoint) / fHeight; float fScatter = (fStartOffset + fDepth*(scale(fLightAngle) - scale(fCameraAngle))); vec3 v3Attenuate = exp(-fScatter * (v3InvWavelength * fKr4PI + fKm4PI)); v3FrontColor += v3Attenuate * (fDepth * fScaledLength); v3SamplePoint += v3SampleRay; } gg_FrontSecondaryColor.rgb = v3FrontColor * fKmESun; gg_FrontColor.rgb = v3FrontColor * (v3InvWavelength * fKrESun); gl_Position = MVP * vec4(vertexPosition_modelspace,1); v3Direction = v3CameraPos - v3Pos; } Fragment Shader: #version 330 core uniform vec3 v3LightPos; uniform float g; uniform float g2; in vec3 v3Direction; out vec4 FragColor; in vec4 gg_FrontColor; in vec4 gg_FrontSecondaryColor; void main (void) { float fCos = dot(v3LightPos, v3Direction) / length(v3Direction); float fMiePhase = 1.5 * ((1.0 - g2) / (2.0 + g2)) * (1.0 + fCos*fCos) / pow(1.0 + g2 - 2.0*g*fCos, 1.5); FragColor = gg_FrontColor + fMiePhase * gg_FrontSecondaryColor; FragColor.a = FragColor.b; } I wrote a function to render a sphere, and im trying to render this shader onto a inverted version of it, the sphere works completely fine, with normals and all. My problem is that the sphere gets rendered all black, so the shader is not working. This is how i'm trying to render the atmosphere inside my main rendering loop. glUseProgram(programAtmosphere); glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0); //###################### glUniform3f(v3CameraPos, getPlayerPos().x, getPlayerPos().y, getPlayerPos().z); glUniform3f(v3LightPos, lightPos.x / sqrt(lightPos.x * lightPos.x + lightPos.y * lightPos.y), lightPos.y / sqrt(lightPos.x * lightPos.x + lightPos.y * lightPos.y), 0); glUniform3f(v3InvWavelength, 1.0 / pow(0.650, 4.0), 1.0 / pow(0.570, 4.0), 1.0 / pow(0.475, 4.0)); glUniform1fARB(fCameraHeight, 1); glUniform1fARB(fCameraHeight2, 1); glUniform1fARB(fInnerRadius, 6350); glUniform1fARB(fInnerRadius2, 6350 * 6350); glUniform1fARB(fOuterRadius, 6450); glUniform1fARB(fOuterRadius2, 6450 * 6450); glUniform1fARB(fKrESun, 0.0025 * 20.0); glUniform1fARB(fKmESun, 0.0015 * 20.0); glUniform1fARB(fKr4PI, 0.0025 * 4.0 * 3.141592653); glUniform1fARB(fKm4PI, 0.0015 * 4.0 * 3.141592653); glUniform1fARB(fScale, 1.0 / (6450 - 6350)); glUniform1fARB(fScaleDepth, 0.25); glUniform1fARB(fScaleOverScaleDepth, 4.0 / (6450 - 6350)); glUniform1fARB(g, -0.85); glUniform1f(g2, -0.85 * -0.85); // vertices glEnableVertexAttribArray(0); glBindBuffer(GL_ARRAY_BUFFER, vertexbuffer[1]); glVertexAttribPointer( 0, // attribute 3, // size GL_FLOAT, // type GL_FALSE, // normalized? 0, // stride (void*)0 // array buffer offset ); // normals glEnableVertexAttribArray(2); glBindBuffer(GL_ARRAY_BUFFER, normalbuffer[1]); glVertexAttribPointer( 2, // attribute 3, // size GL_FLOAT, // type GL_FALSE, // normalized? 0, // stride (void*)0 // array buffer offset ); glBindBuffer(GL_ELEMENT_ARRAY_BUFFER, elementbuffer[1]); glUniformMatrix4fv(ModelMatrixAT, 1, GL_FALSE, &ModelMatrix[0][0]); glUniformMatrix4fv(ViewMatrixAT, 1, GL_FALSE, &ViewMatrix[0][0]); glUniformMatrix4fv(ModelViewPAT, 1, GL_FALSE, &MVP[0][0]); // Draw the triangles glDrawElements( GL_TRIANGLES, // mode cubeIndices[1], // count GL_UNSIGNED_SHORT, // type (void*)0 // element array buffer offset ); Any ideas?

  • Random Windows application crashes on Windows Server Hyper-V Core 2012

    - by Marlamin
We're having some issues with our Hyper-V Core 2012 R2 installation on a HP DL360G8. We have an identical server with Hyper-V Core 2012 (not R2) that does not have these issues. When logging off from the physical server/via remote desktop, we sometimes get this error: Configure-SMRemoting.exe - Application Error : The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application. We've also once or twice seen a "memory could not be read" error mentioning LoginUI.exe (another Windows app in System32) but have been unable to get an exact description. It's rather worrying to get such errors on a fresh install of Hyper-V 2012 R2. Is this even anything to worry about? Things we've done: Memtest86+, no memory errors Checksummed the file that is crashing with the one in the verified correct ISO, files match Server firmware upgrade to latest firmware of all present hardware, no visible changes Remade the RAID5 array , no change Reinstalled a few times, no change Reinstall without applying Windows updates after, no change

  • Proxmox VE cluster not working

    - by JJ56
I have been using a Proxmox VE 2.0 cluster (2 servers) for months. Today, I had the "bright idea" to install a GUI on one of the servers. I used tasksel, and selected the graphical desktop environment (Gnome). When I rebooted the server, neither of the servers on the cluster could see each other (shows a red light by the server on the sidebar, no statistics). The VMs on each server are working fine, individually. pvecm status on the broken server shows cman_tool: cannot open connection to cman, is it running ?. Running it on the other server outputs a lot of lines (here: http://pastebin.com/HpQfUHTU), but I assume the important bit is expected votes:2 total votes: 1 Trying pvecm delnode (othernode) on either server outputs: cluster not ready - no quorum? Any suggestions as to how I can fix this? Thanks in advance!

  • Prevent a partition on a USB drive auto-mounting in Linux

    - by nomount
On Linux (Gnome desktop) how do you prevent one of the partitions on an external USB drive auto-mounting when it attached to the machine? I don't just want to prevent the Nautilus window from popping up -- I want that partition not to mount. Fiddling with /etc/fstab is not acceptable, as this is a removable drive that is attached to different machines. I seem to remember that you create a hidden file in the root of the file system, but I can't remember what it's called. Something like: touch /media/usbdisk/.no-mount How do you actually make this work?

  • Zimbra vs. Kerio Connect

    - by rahum
We've been a Kerio partner for years and have deployed much Kerio Connect. Now we're looking at beginning hosting groupware for our clients and are wrestling over the right backend. Kerio Connect is fantastic, but we have a couple gripes: Kerio is often weeks behind on releases to keep up with major Microsoft and Apple updates that break functionality or at least impede new Apple/Microsoft features in their desktop clients We've been worried that Kerio has a historical habit of corrupting Apple's Open Directory; we know this happened years ago, and have suspected it happening earlier this year There's always some one or two features that are buggy in Kerio, in every release. These usually aren't dealbreakers, just annoyances. Kerio does not have any kind of HA feature set How does Zimbra compare? What are your gripes? Thanks! noam

  • 401 - Unauthorized On Server 2008 R2 IIS 7.5

    - by mxmissile
I have a web application deployed to Server 2008 IIS 7.5 box. From remote it gives this error: 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. (remote = desktops on the same LAN) Have tried several remote clients using different browsers, all the same result. (IE, FF, and Chrome) Hitting the application from the desktop of the server itself works flawlessly. The application is using Anonymous Authentication. The application is written in .NET 4.0 Asp.Net using the MVC framework. Sysinternals procmon returns these 2 results for each request: FAST IO DISALLOWED and PATH NOT FOUND. I have 2 other MVC apps running fine on the same server. I have checked the security on the folders and they all match. App runs fine on a Server 2008 IIS 7.0 box. Nothing shows up in the Event log on the server related to this. Pulling my hair out here, any troubleshooting tips?

  • iPhone - Open excel from SSRS 2008

    - by milesmcgehee
We're currently having a problem with our 2008 SSRS server sending excel reports to users with iPhones. They get the email with no problems, but when the XLS file is opened on the phone, it returns an error of: Invalid format. Everyone else can open the report with no problems (email/blackberry) The odd thing, is I can drag the file to my desktop from the message, open it, save it, and then email it again and it opens just fine on the phone. Does anyone know of hotfix that can be applied to the SSRS server to create the XLS files correctly? Or something I can change to make this work? I know we can send all the attachments in PDF but I'd like to keep them XLS if at all possible.

When I try to establish a VPN to ASA 5505 from my Windows XP, after I click on "connect" button, the "Connecting ...." dialog box appears and after a while I get this error message: Error 800: Unable to establish VPN connection. The VPN server may be unreachable, or security parameters may not be configured properly for this connection. ASA version 7.2(4) ASDM version 5.2(4) Windows XP SP3 Windows XP and ASA 5505 are on the same LAN for test purposes. Edit 1: There are two VLANs defined on the cisco device (the standard setup on cisco ASA5505). - port 0 is on VLAN2, outside; - and ports 1 to 7 on VLAN1, inside. I run a cable from my linksys home router (10.50.10.1) to the cisco ASA5505 router on port 0 (outside). Port 0 have IP 192.168.1.1 used internally by cisco and I have also assigned the external IP 10.50.10.206 to port 0 (outside). I run a cable from Windows XP to Cisco router on port 1 (inside). Port 1 is assigned an IP from Cisco router 192.168.1.2. The Windows XP is also connected to my linksys home router via wireless (10.50.10.141). Edit 2: When I try to establish vpn, the Cisco device real time Log viewer shows 7 entries like this: Severity:5 Date:Sep 15 2009 Time: 14:51:29 SyslogID: 713904 Destination IP = 10.50.10.141, Decription: No crypto map bound to interface... dropping pkt Edit 3: This is the setup on the router right now. • Can't install Windows 7 on Acer Aspire M1100

    - by r0ca
When I install Windows 7, everything goes smooth but as soon as it's done and Windows needs to reboot for the last time before getting the desktop, the computer stucks to Verify DMI Pool Data............. and then, nothing. I change the CMOS battery, I tried so many setup in BIOS, even load default settings... Nothing worked. The HDD light is not flickering anymore, no HDD activity. CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't work. It's just impossible to load Windows 7. I tried Windows XP and this works fine. I also tried the Acer (Futureshop) recovery CD and I get an Hexademical error message stating the install cannot continue. Is there a BIOS flash apps somewhere or a fix I can apply to have Windows 7 Ultimate installed on my computer. Any takers?

  • Cisco VPN Client connects but unable to ping or RDP

    - by bryanroth
I'm a developer and don't have much networking expertise, so bare with me. I'm using the Cisco VPN Client 5.0.02.0090 to connect to my work's VPN that way I can RDP into my work computer. Once connected, I can't ping anything on the local network once connected to the VPN thus I am unable to access my work's network. This used to work about two weeks ago but abruptly stopped working today. However, I have the Cisco VPN Client installed on my laptop and I am able to ping and RDP into my work computer from there. Both my desktop and laptop computers are connected to the same router at home. I have tried the following so far: Rebooted my computer Reinstalled VPN client Updated NIC drivers Disabled firewall Opened up ports 500, 4500, and 10000 Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • Is there a way to make a zenity dialog modal?

    - by math
How can I make them modal? With modal I mean: The dialog should block the desktop so the user has only two options: Either cancel the dialog or enter text into it. (I want this basically because new windows might popup and can steal focus and additionally that other programs can access configuration files inside that container) Background: I want to ask a passphrase after login for an encfs container. So either entering a pass, or continue with cancellation of this dialog. Note: This is not a duplicate of modal dialog popup alarm, as I am interested especially in a solution to Zenity dialogs.

  • How to change RDS licensing mode from 'per user/device' to 'Remote control for administrators' on Wi

    - by Prashant Mandhare
We have installed windows 2008 R2 enterprise on a Dell server. This server is placed remotely in data center and only administrator is going to access it for maintenance purpose. No multiple users or client remote access is needed Now during 'remote desktop services' role installation network admin accidentally selected 'per user/device' licensing mode. Because of which now 120 days free try period is ticking. Since only administrator is going to access this server remotely we need to have 'Remote control for administrators' licensing mode (like windows 2003) on it. How we can change licensing mode from 'per user/device' to 'Remote control for administrators' on 2008 server? Also will it be possible to do this change remotely using RDC session itself? or do i need to change it using physical console (if remote access is gonna be disabled during switch)?

  • HP SmartArray P400 has slow read and write speed

    - by Tadas D.
I have desktop in which I installed HP SmartArray P400 controller with two HP DF0146B8052 hard drives. I made RAID0 logical volume from them, but I am getting 20MB/s write speed and ~140-120MB/s read speed. Also there is quite low scatter for benchmark results (I am getting quite nice line) and it looks like controller is "capping" my speeds. I tried reseting controllers configuration and I haven't found any settings in HP ACU (Array Configuration Utility) to help me. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate and M4A78 board Does anyone have ideas what could be wrong? Also I am attaching diagnostic results.

  • Ubuntu Apache 10 second timeout

    - by Andreas Jansson
Hi, I'm debugging an API I'm building using netcat to send raw HTTP requests. The thing is that Apache closes the connection after 10 seconds, giving me very little time to type. I know that I could pipe a file to nc, or use any other workaround, but I'd like it to work as it's supposed to. The Timeout directive in apache2.conf is at its default of 300 seconds, KeetAliveTimeout at 15 seconds. Where could this 10 second timeout possibly be defined? I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop. Thanks, Andreas

  • How to migrate from Natara DayNotez for Pocket PC / Windows Mobile

    - by piggymouse
I've been using DayNotez as my notes manager since the old Palm PDA days. When I moved to Windows Mobile, I installed DayNotez there and migrated from the Palm version. Now I wish to move from DayNotez altogether (I currently consider Evernote as a decent cross-platform tool). Problem is, DayNotez doesn't let me export the notes (unless I want to transfer them one by one, which is a pain). Natara offers an export tool for Windows, but it only works for Palm HotSync (as it reads from the backed-up PDB file). DayNotez Desktop for Windows stores its local DB under "My Documents\Natara\DayNotez\" directory in a file named "[device name] DayNotez.dnz". Quick look within the file spots a string "Standard Jet DB" near the beginning, but I couldn't open it as a regular JET/MDB file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Dual-screen Multimedia Control Suite for Linux (like Screen Monkey)

    - by samjetski
I'm looking for some linux software to manage and control a dual monitor/multi screen setup for use in professional-like presentations (ie: monitor1=control, monitor2=projector/audience). I have the dual-monitor configured with my gnome desktop running over both monitors (that's the easy part). What I'm looking for is a neat/seamless way to switch between, say, OpenOffice Impress, DVD Player, VLC live video, Lyricue, other software on monitor2. To have monitor2 shown to the audience and run neat presentations of DVDs, Slideshows, etc. whilst controlling it from monitor1. I can run slideshows, play a DVD on monitor2 (drag & drop VLC on monitor2, and go fullscreen) etc. but this is rather messy in a presentation environment. I found this software: Screen Monkey. Looks like an excellent windows equivalent for what I want to do. Is there anything similar for linux? For Gnome, KDE, anything else X based? Thanks, SamJ
