• Setting headers in XDomainRequest or ActiveXObject('Microsoft.XMLHTTP')

  I'm trying to do something like this: xhr.setRequestHeader( 'X-Requested-With', 'XMLHttpRequest' ); For ActiveXObject('Microsoft.XMLHTTP') and XDomainRequest (IE8). I'm having no such luck finding it anywhere in microsoft documentation or even google. Any idea how I can achieve this?

• Ultimate chat-client API for .NET?

  Does anyone know of a .NET API (source-code is preferrable of course) that I can access all the common chat clients thru it (GT, Yahoo, MSN, AIM, FB, ICQ, SKYPE and more)? I guess I am looking for a .NET library project that performs something like pidjin. I need it because I hate Pidgin's interface and functionality, and I want to have a Google-Talk desktop like UI. The best thing I have found so far is to use Google Gears, which has a location API available, but my application is not web based. • simple yet secure encrypt / decrypt asp to asp.net

  First post here. I have a asp/vb6 web app that logs in a user I want to encrypt the users identity field and pass(querystring) it to a asp.net app and then decrypt it to do a db lookup. I've google'd it of course and found rot13, not secure enough. I've also found some hits on MD5 / RC4 but did not find any good examples of encrypt / decrypt. Thanks, Michael

• Why not use Git?

  A lot of people like git (in particular this guy) against other SCMs such as SVN, but many projects, even new ones, are set up using alternative SCMs. Furthermore, Google Code still does not support it (although many of their large open source projects use it). My question is: what are the reasons for not using git in any project, whether it be personal or collaborative? Maybe I've just been brainwashed by this guy, but I can't see any area in which other SCMs excel over git.

• Authlogic_OpenID - "uninitialized constant Rack::OpenID"

  So I followed the railscast tutorial (http://railscasts.com/episodes/170-openid-with-authlogic) and used the old version of the plugin from Ryan's git file. I can now successfuly create/register a user using OpenID (Google), but I cannot log in with this user. When I submit the OpenID that has been registered, I get "uninitialized constant Rack::OpenID".
