  • opening a fancybox from a drop down box and passing the selected value to it directly

    - by andy
    <select name="mySelectboxsituation_found" id="mySelectboxsituation_found"> <option value="100">Firecall</option> <option value="200">FireAlarm</option> <option value="300">FireAlarm2</option> <option value="400">FireAlarm4</option> </select> < a href="#" class="incidenttype" name="all" onClick="JavaScript:var dropdown=document.getElementById('mySelectboxsituation_found');this.href='main_situation_found.php?incident_maincateid='+dropdown.options[dropdown.selectedIndex].value;return true;"/>CLICK HERE < / a> function cleanUp(){ var subsituation_found1 = $("#fancybox- frame").contents().find('input:radio[name=incident_subcate]:checked').val(); } $(".incidenttype").fancybox({ 'width' : 900, 'height' : 600, 'autoScale': false, 'transitionIn': 'none', 'transitionOut': 'none', 'type': 'iframe', 'onCleanup': cleanUp ); }); clicking on "CLICK HERE" opens the fancybox and transfers the value selected in the drop down box. What I would like to do is open the fancy box when i change the value in the dropdown box...without having to click on the click here link.....i know it is posisble using something like _this....but i am not sure and am looking for some direction... ideally some thing like this ... <select name="mySelectboxsituation_found" id="mySelectboxsituation_found" onChange="JavaScript:var dropdown=document.getElementById('mySelectboxsituation_found');this.href='main_situation_found.php?incident_maincateid='+dropdown.options[dropdown.selectedIndex].value;return true;"> <option value="100">Firecall</option> <option value="200">FireAlarm</option> <option value="300">FireAlarm2</option> <option value="400">FireAlarm4</option> </select> does any have an idea how to do it.... I have also tried... function test_fan() { alert(document.getElementById('mySelectboxsituation_found').options[document.getElementById('mySelectboxsituation_found').selectedIndex].value); var dropval =document.getElementById('mySelectboxsituation_found').options[document.getElementById('mySelectboxsituation_found').selectedIndex].value; return dropval; } $(document).ready(function(){ $("#autostart").fancybox({ 'onStart':test_fan, 'width': 800, 'height': 700, 'type': 'iframe', href:'main_situation_found.php?incident_maincateid='+document.getElementById('mySelectboxsituation_found').options[document.getElementById('mySelectboxsituation_found').selectedIndex].value }); <a href="#" id="autostart" style="display:none"></a> <form><select id="mySelectboxsituation_found" onchange="$('#autostart').trigger('click');"> <option value="">select</option> <option value="100">option 1</option> <option value="200">trigger</option> <option value="300">option 3</option> <option value="400">option 4</option> </select> </form> the really funny that happens there is that .... on the alert id do get the value i selected so if i selected alert fancybox window 100 100 nothing shows up empty 200 200 100 300 300 200 400 400 300 the fancybox seems to me the the previously selected values and i am not sure why that is happening... thanks andy

    I'm trying to sort a list with the help of jQuery and the TinySort-plugin, and it works good but one thing is not working as i want. My Code is: <!doctype html> <html> <head> <meta charset="UTF-8" /> <title>TinySort problem</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://so.volmar.se/www/js/jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://so.volmar.se/www/js/jquery.tinysort.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function pktsort(way){ if($("div#paket>ul>li.sortdiv>a#s_abc").text() == "A-S"){ $("div#paket>ul>li.sortdiv>a#s_abc").text("S-A"); $("div#paket ul li.sortable").tsort("",{place:"org",returns:true,order:"desc"}); }else{ $("div#paket>ul>li.sortdiv>a#s_abc").text("A-S"); $("div#paket ul li.sortable").tsort("",{place:"org",returns:true,order:"asc"}); } } </script> </head> <body> <div id="paket" title="Paket"> <ul class="rounded"> <li class="sortdiv">Sort: <a href="#" onclick="pktsort();" class="active_sort" id="s_abc">A-S</a></li> <li class="sortable">Almost Famous</li> <li class="sortable">Children of Men</li> <li class="sortable">Coeurs</li> <li class="sortable">Colossal Youth</li> <li class="sortable">Demonlover</li> <li class="sortable">Femme Fatale</li> <li class="sortable">I'm Not There</li> <li class="sortable">In the City of Sylvia</li> <li class="sortable">Into the Wild</li> <li class="sortable">Je rentre à la maison</li> <li class="sortable">King Kong</li> <li class="sortable">Little Miss Sunshine</li> <li class="sortable">Man on Wire</li> <li class="sortable">Milk</li> <li class="sortable">Monsters Inc.</li> <li class="sortable">My Winnipeg</li> <li class="sortable">Ne touchez pas la hache</li> <li class="sortable">Nói albinói</li> <li class="sortable">Regular Lovers</li> <li class="sortable">Shaun of the Dead</li> <li class="sortable">Silent Light</li> <li class="addmore"><b>This text is not supposed to move</b></li> </ul> </div> </body> </html> you can try it out at: http://www.volmar.se/list-prob.html MY PROBLEM IS: I don't want the <li class="addmore"> to move above all the <li class="sortable">-elements when i press the sort-link. i wan't it to always be in the bottom. you can find documentation of the TinySort plugin here. i've tried loads of combinations with place and returns propertys but i just can't get it right.

  • Blogger issue with custom background images on Chrome and Safari

    - by hdx
    This is weird, the site in question is blog.andrebatista.info and it is a hosted at blogger.com. I'm trying to make the blogger template look the same as the one in my main website, www.andrebatista.info. For some reason if I go directly to the blog address Chrome and Safari fail to display all of my background images... all of them. However if I first go to www.andrebatista.info first and then go to the blog it renders just fine ?¿ The way I'm customizing it is by adding a link to my main site's stylesheet at the very end of the head tag on the blogger template. That stylesheet is displayed below: *{ margin:0; padding:0; border:0; } html,body { background:#064169 url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/main_gradient_slice.jpg) repeat-x; font-family: Arial, "MS Trebuchet", sans-serif; font-size:18px; } #main_wrapper{ margin: 0 auto; width:1024px; } #header{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/header.jpg); height:133px; border:none; margin:0; } #menu_wrapper{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/menu.jpg); height:34px; overflow:hidden; } #menu_wrapper .menu_item{ color:white; float: left; border: 1 px solid red; height: 34px; padding-top:10px; text-align:center; width:100px; } #menu_wrapper .first{ padding-left:240px; float:left; width:100px; } #menu_wrapper .active,#menu_wrapper .menu_item:hover{ background-color:white; color:Teal; cursor: pointer; } #content_area_wrapper{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/body_bg_slice.jpg) repeat-y; } #content_area{ min-height:524px; background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/main_content_top.jpg) repeat-x; } #main_banner{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/main_banner.jpg) no-repeat center center; width:662px; height:338px; margin: 0 auto; } #main_banner div{ color:white; padding-left:47px; padding-right:164px; padding-top:105px; } #text_area{ overflow:hidden; width:662px; margin:0 auto; padding:14px; } #contentList{ padding:0 20px 20px 20px; } #text_area .left{ width:50%; float:left; } #text_area .left{ width:50%; float:right; } #footer2{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/footer.jpg); height:62px; } #footer{ background: url(http://www.andrebatista.info/images/footer.jpg); height:62px; } Any ideas on what I could be missing?

  • How to Force an Exception from a Task to be Observed in a Continuation Task?

    - by Richard
    I have a task to perform an HttpWebRequest using Task<WebResponse>.Factory.FromAsync(req.BeginGetRespone, req.EndGetResponse) which can obviously fail with a WebException. To the caller I want to return a Task<HttpResult> where HttpResult is a helper type to encapsulate the response (or not). In this case a 4xx or 5xx response is not an exception. Therefore I've attached two continuations to the request task. One with TaskContinuationOptions OnlyOnRanToCompletion and the other with OnlyOnOnFaulted. And then wrapped the whole thing in a Task<HttpResult> to pick up the one result whichever continuation completes. Each of the three child tasks (request plus two continuations) is created with the AttachedToParent option. But when the caller waits on the returned outer task, an AggregateException is thrown is the request failed. I want to, in the on faulted continuation, observe the WebException so the client code can just look at the result. Adding a Wait in the on fault continuation throws, but a try-catch around this doesn't help. Nor does looking at the Exception property (as section "Observing Exceptions By Using the Task.Exception Property" hints here). I could install a UnobservedTaskException event handler to filter, but as the event offers no direct link to the faulted task this will likely interact outside this part of the application and is a case of a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Given an instance of a faulted Task<T> is there any means of flagging it as "fault handled"? Simplified code: public static Task<HttpResult> Start(Uri url) { var webReq = BuildHttpWebRequest(url); var result = new HttpResult(); var taskOuter = Task<HttpResult>.Factory.StartNew(() => { var tRequest = Task<WebResponse>.Factory.FromAsync( webReq.BeginGetResponse, webReq.EndGetResponse, null, TaskCreationOptions.AttachedToParent); var tError = tRequest.ContinueWith<HttpResult>( t => HandleWebRequestError(t, result), TaskContinuationOptions.AttachedToParent |TaskContinuationOptions.OnlyOnFaulted); var tSuccess = tRequest.ContinueWith<HttpResult>( t => HandleWebRequestSuccess(t, result), TaskContinuationOptions.AttachedToParent |TaskContinuationOptions.OnlyOnRanToCompletion); return result; }); return taskOuter; } with: private static HttpDownloaderResult HandleWebRequestError( Task<WebResponse> respTask, HttpResult result) { Debug.Assert(respTask.Status == TaskStatus.Faulted); Debug.Assert(respTask.Exception.InnerException is WebException); // Try and observe the fault: Doesn't help. try { respTask.Wait(); } catch (AggregateException e) { Log("HandleWebRequestError: waiting on antecedent task threw inner: " + e.InnerException.Message); } // ... populate result with details of the failure for the client ... return result; } (HandleWebRequestSuccess will eventually spin off further tasks to get the content of the response...) The client should be able to wait on the task and then look at its result, without it throwing due to a fault that is expected and already handled.

  • Insane SmartGWT + GWT situation... Error on instantiating ListGridRecord?

    - by Xandel
    Hi all, I am asking this here in the hope that someone has maybe come across this situation too... I have posted this on the SmartGWT forum: I am having an issue when trying to instantiate a ListGridRecord object on my server side. I am using the ListGrid on the client side, I want to use GWT's RPC to pass back an array of ListGridRecord objects to populate the grid with. I know that SmartGWT is designed to link to a datasource but I want full control over when I populate the grid and this shouldn't be as much of a nightmare as it is to do. I have searched high and low and cannot find anyone complaining about the same thing. The exception however (listed below) has come up (in my search findings) as a possible memory error - where increasing the memory (-Xmx512m argument) has apparently solved the problem. It did not, however, sort out mine. If anyone can shed any light on this I would greatly appreciate it! Here are my details: Developing using Eclipse Galileo on Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) and GWT 2.0.3, I built the initial GWT project using the webAppCreator bundled with the GWT 2.0.3 release and imported the project into Eclipse as described on the GWT Getting Started Page (as using the GWT Eclipse plugin caused even more nightmares when trying to connect to a database - this is apparently due to using the Google App Engine and turning it off as all the posts suggested only causes ClassNotFound exceptions). The line that causes the error is literally: ListGridRecord a = new ListGridRecord(); The error I get is the following: 00:00:25.916 [WARN] Exception while dispatching incoming RPC call com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.UnexpectedException : Service method 'public abstract java.lang.String za.co.company.product.client.service.EmployeeServi ce.getAllEmployeeAsListGridRecord()' threw an unexpected exception: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: com.smartgwt.client.util.LogUtil.setJSNIErrorHandl er()V at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.encodeResponseF orFailure(RPC.java:378) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.invokeAndEncode Response(RPC.java:581) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processCall(RemoteServiceServlet.java:188) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processPost(RemoteServiceServlet.java:224) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.AbstractRemoteServi ceServlet.doPost(AbstractRemoteServiceServlet.java :62) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:637) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:717) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHolder.handle(Ser vletHolder.java:487) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHandler.handle(Se rvletHandler.java:362) at org.mortbay.jetty.security.SecurityHandler.handle( SecurityHandler.java:216) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.SessionHandler.handle(Se ssionHandler.java:181) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.ContextHandler.handle(Co ntextHandler.java:729) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext.handle(WebA ppContext.java:405) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.RequestLogHandler.handle (RequestLogHandler.java:49) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.Server.handle(Server.java:324) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handleRequest(Htt pConnection.java:505) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection$RequestHandler.co ntent(HttpConnection.java:843) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseNext(HttpParser. java:647) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseAvailable(HttpPa rser.java:211) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handle(HttpConnec tion.java:380) at org.mortbay.io.nio.SelectChannelEndPoint.run(Selec tChannelEndPoint.java:395) at org.mortbay.thread.QueuedThreadPool$PoolThread.run (QueuedThreadPool.java:488) Caused by: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: com.smartgwt.client.util.LogUtil.setJSNIErrorHandl er()V at com.smartgwt.client.util.LogUtil.setJSNIErrorHandl er(Native Method) at com.smartgwt.client.core.JsObject.(JsObjec t.java:30) at za.co.company.product.server.service.EmployeeServi ceImpl.getAllEmployeeAsListGridRecord(EmployeeServ iceImpl.java:83) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Nativ e Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Native MethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(De legatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.invokeAndEncode Response(RPC.java:562) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processCall(RemoteServiceServlet.java:188) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processPost(RemoteServiceServlet.java:224) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.AbstractRemoteServi ceServlet.doPost(AbstractRemoteServiceServlet.java :62) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:637) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:717) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHolder.handle(Ser vletHolder.java:487) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHandler.handle(Se rvletHandler.java:362) at org.mortbay.jetty.security.SecurityHandler.handle( SecurityHandler.java:216) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.SessionHandler.handle(Se ssionHandler.java:181) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.ContextHandler.handle(Co ntextHandler.java:729) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext.handle(WebA ppContext.java:405) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.RequestLogHandler.handle (RequestLogHandler.java:49) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.Server.handle(Server.java:324) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handleRequest(Htt pConnection.java:505) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection$RequestHandler.co ntent(HttpConnection.java:843) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseNext(HttpParser. java:647) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseAvailable(HttpPa rser.java:211) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handle(HttpConnec tion.java:380) at org.mortbay.io.nio.SelectChannelEndPoint.run(Selec tChannelEndPoint.java:395) at org.mortbay.thread.QueuedThreadPool$PoolThread.run (QueuedThreadPool.java:488) Thanks in advance! • How come my form input sometimes moves when I refresh the page?

    - by samoz
    On a page that I'm designing I have a form with one input of type text. Normally, this form and input render properly in my browser, Chrome, but occasionally, it renders about 20 pixels to the left of where it is supposed to be. When I refresh the page, it goes back to the original, correct place. I have only tested in Chrome so far, so this isn't a cross-browser issue (it happens in the same browser). Is there anything wrong with my code below? Here's my HTML code: <!DOCTYPE htmls> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" type="text/css" /> <title>Test Site</title> </head> <body > <div id="supercontainer" class="style1"> <img class="floater" src="top.jpg" alt="Top" /> <img class="floater" src="left.jpg" alt="Left" /> <div id="content"> <p id="theText"> Welcome. Please type a username. </p> <form id="prompt"> <div><input type="text" name="promptLine" autocomplete="off" id="promptLine" onkeypress="return submitenter(event);" value="% " /></div> </form> </div> <img class="floater" src="right.jpg" alt="Right" /> <img class="floater" src="bottom.jpg" alt="Bottom" /> </div> Here's my CSS code: #supercontainer { margin: 0 auto; width: 900px; display: block; } img.floater { display: inline; float: left; } #content { background-color:black; display: inline; float: left; padding-left:5px; padding-right:5px; min-height:458px; max-height:458px; min-width: 803px; max-width: 803px; color: lime; } #theText { text-align:left; margin-bottom:0; margin-top:0; line-height: 0.3; font-family:"Courier New", Courier, monospace; } #prompt { position: fixed; top: 470px; } #promptLine { width: 100%; background-color: black; color: lime; border: none; outline:none; }

  • How do I return a message if $_GET is null or does not match any database entries?

    - by CT
    I am working on designing an IT Asset database. Here I am working on a page used to view details on a specific asset determined by an asset id. Here I grab $id from $_GET["id"]; When $id is null, the page does not load. When $id does not match any entry within the database, the page loads but no asset table is printed. In both these cases, I would like to display a message like "There is no database entry for that Asset ID" How would this be handled? Thank you. <?php /* * View Asset * */ # include functions script include "functions.php"; $id = $_GET["id"]; ConnectDB(); $type = GetAssetType($id); ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css" /> <title>Wagman IT Asset</title> </head> <body> <div id="page"> <div id="header"> <img src="images/logo.png" /> </div> </div> <div id="content"> <div id="container"> <div id="main"> <div id="menu"> <ul> <table width="100%" border="0"> <tr> <td width="15%"></td> <td width="30%%"><li><a href="index.php">Search Assets</a></li></td> <td width="30%"><li><a href="addAsset.php">Add Asset</a></li></td> <td width="25%"></td> </tr> </table> </ul> </div> <div id="text"> <ul> <li> <h1>View Asset</h1> </li> </ul> <br /> <?php switch ($type){ case "Server": $result = QueryServer($id); $ServerArray = GetServerData($result); PrintServerTable($ServerArray); break; case "Desktop"; break; case "Laptop"; break; } ?> </div> </div> </div> <div class="clear"></div> <div id="footer" align="center"> <p>&nbsp;</p> </div> </div> <div id="tagline"> Wagman Construction - Bridging Generations since 1902 </div> </body> </html>

  • Facelet selectOneMenu with POJOs and converter problem

    - by c0d3x
    Hi, I want to have a facelet page with a formular and a dropdown menu. With the dropdown menu the user shoul select a POJO of the type Lieferant: public class Lieferant extends AbstractPersistentWarenwirtschaftsObject { private String firma; public Lieferant(WarenwirtschaftDatabaseLayer database, String firma) { this(database, null, firma); } public Lieferant(WarenwirtschaftDatabaseLayer database, Long primaryKey, String firma) { super(database, primaryKey); this.firma = firma; } public String getFirma() { return firma; } @Override public String toString() { return getFirma(); } @Override public int hashCode() { final int prime = 31; int result = 1; result = prime * result + ((firma == null) ? 0 : firma.hashCode()); return result; } @Override public boolean equals(Object obj) { if (this == obj) return true; if (obj == null) return false; if (getClass() != obj.getClass()) return false; Lieferant other = (Lieferant) obj; if (firma == null) { if (other.firma != null) return false; } else if (!firma.equals(other.firma)) return false; return true; } } Here is the facelet code that I wrote: <h:selectOneMenu> tag. This tag should display a list of POJOs (not beans) of the type Lieferant. Here is the facelet code: <h:selectOneMenu id="lieferant" value="#{lieferantenBestellungBackingBean.lieferant}"> <f:selectItems var="lieferant" value="#{lieferantenBackingBean.lieferanten}" itemLabel="#{lieferant.firma}" itemValue="#{lieferant.primaryKey}" /> <f:converter converterId="LieferantConverter" /> </h:selectOneMenu> Here is the refenrenced managed backing bean @ManagedBean @RequestScoped public class LieferantenBackingBean extends AbstractWarenwirtschaftsBackingBean { private List<Lieferant> lieferanten; public List<Lieferant> getLieferanten() { if (lieferanten == null) { lieferanten = getApplication().getLieferanten(); } return lieferanten; } } As far as I know, I need a custom converter, to swap beetween POJO and String representations of the Lieferant objects. Here is what the converter looks like: @FacesConverter(value="LieferantConverter") public class LieferantConverter implements Converter { @Override public Object getAsObject(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, String value) { long primaryKey = Long.parseLong(value); WarenwirtschaftApplicationLayer application = WarenwirtschaftApplication.getInstance(); Lieferant lieferant = application.getLieferant(primaryKey); return lieferant; } @Override public String getAsString(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, Object value) { return value.toString(); } } The page loads without any error. When I fill out the formular and submit it, there is an error message displayed on the page: Bestellung:lieferantenBestellungForm:lieferant: Validierungsfehler: Wert ist keine gültige Auswahl translated: validation error: value is not a valid selection Unfortunaltely it does not say which value it is talking about. The converter seems to work correctly. I found this similar question from stackoverflow and this article about selectOneMenu and converters, but I was not able to find the problem in my code. Why is List<SelectItem> used in the example from the second link. Gives the same error for me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Submitting a URL into a Form without "http://", with "www.", or with neither

    - by John
    (EDITED) Hello, In the form below, the filed for <div class="urlfield"><input name="url" type="url" id="url" maxlength="500"></div> fine when a URL is submitted that has a "http://" at the beginning of it. However, it doesn't work if a URL is submitted with only a "www." in front of it, or with neither a "http://" nor a "www." How can I make it work in all if the submitted URL has any or none of the following at the beginning of it: http:// www. http://www. • ASP.NET MVC 3 embrace dynamic type - CSDN.NET - CSDN Software Development Channel

    - by user559071
    About a decade ago, Microsoft will all bet on the WebForms and static types. With the complete package from scattered to the continuous development, and now almost every page can be viewed as its own procedure. Subsequent years, the industry continued to move in another direction, love is better than separation package, better than the late binding early binding to the idea. This leads to two very interesting questions. The first is the problem of terminology. Consider the original Smalltalk MVC model, view and controller is not only tightly coupled together, and usually in pairs. Most of the framework is that Microsoft, including the classic VB, WinForms, WebForms, WPF and Silverlight, they both use the code behind file to store the controller logic. But said "MVC" usually refers to the view and controller are loosely coupled framework. This is especially true for the Web framework, HTML form submission mechanism allows any views submitted to any of the controller. Since this article was mainly talking about Web technologies, so we need to use the modern definition. The second question is "If you're Microsoft, how to change orbit without causing too much pressure to the developer?" So far, the answer is: new releases each year, until the developers meet up. ASP.NET MVC's first product was released last March. Released in March this year, ASP.NET MVC 2.0. 3.0 RC 2 is currently in phase, expected to be released next March. December 10, Microsoft released ASP.NET MVC 3.0 Release Candidate 2. RC 2 is built on top of Microsoft's commitment to the jQuery: The default project template into jQuery 1.4.4, jQuery Validation 1.7 and jQuery UI. Although people think that Microsoft will focus shifted away from server-side controls to be a joke, but the introduction of Microsoft's jQuery UI is that this is the real thing. For those worried about the scalability of the developers, there are many excellent control can replace the session state. With SessionState property, you can tell the controller session state is read-only, read-write, or can be completely ignored in the. This site is no single server, but if a server needs to access another server session state, then this approach can provide a great help. MVC 3 contains Razor view engine. By default, the engine will be encoded HTML output, so that we can easily output on the screen the text of the original. HTML injection attacks even without the risk of encoded text can not easily prevent the page rendering. For many C # developers in the end do what is most shocking that MVC 3 for the controller and view and embrace the dynamic type. ViewBag property will open a dynamic object, developers can run on top of the object to add attributes. In general, it is used to send the view from the controller non-mode data. Scott Guthrie provides state of the sample contains text (such as the current time) and used to assemble the list box entries. • Can this be improved? Scrubbing of dangerous html tags.

    - by chobo2
    I been finding that for something that I consider pretty import there is very little information or libraries on how to deal with this problem. I found this while searching. I really don't know all the million ways that a hacker could try to insert the dangerous tags. I have a rich html editor so I need to keep non dangerous tags but strip out bad ones. So is this script missing anything? It uses html agility pack. public string ScrubHTML(string html) { HtmlDocument doc = new HtmlDocument(); doc.LoadHtml(html); //Remove potentially harmful elements HtmlNodeCollection nc = doc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//script|//link|//iframe|//frameset|//frame|//applet|//object|//embed"); if (nc != null) { foreach (HtmlNode node in nc) { node.ParentNode.RemoveChild(node, false); } } //remove hrefs to java/j/vbscript URLs nc = doc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//a[starts-with(translate(@href, 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ', 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'), 'javascript')]|//a[starts-with(translate(@href, 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ', 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'), 'jscript')]|//a[starts-with(translate(@href, 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ', 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'), 'vbscript')]"); if (nc != null) { foreach (HtmlNode node in nc) { node.SetAttributeValue("href", "#"); } } //remove img with refs to java/j/vbscript URLs nc = doc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//img[starts-with(translate(@src, 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ', 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'), 'javascript')]|//img[starts-with(translate(@src, 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ', 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'), 'jscript')]|//img[starts-with(translate(@src, 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ', 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'), 'vbscript')]"); if (nc != null) { foreach (HtmlNode node in nc) { node.SetAttributeValue("src", "#"); } } //remove on<Event> handlers from all tags nc = doc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//*[@onclick or @onmouseover or @onfocus or @onblur or @onmouseout or @ondoubleclick or @onload or @onunload]"); if (nc != null) { foreach (HtmlNode node in nc) { node.Attributes.Remove("onFocus"); node.Attributes.Remove("onBlur"); node.Attributes.Remove("onClick"); node.Attributes.Remove("onMouseOver"); node.Attributes.Remove("onMouseOut"); node.Attributes.Remove("onDoubleClick"); node.Attributes.Remove("onLoad"); node.Attributes.Remove("onUnload"); } } // remove any style attributes that contain the word expression (IE evaluates this as script) nc = doc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//*[contains(translate(@style, 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ', 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'), 'expression')]"); if (nc != null) { foreach (HtmlNode node in nc) { node.Attributes.Remove("stYle"); } } return doc.DocumentNode.WriteTo(); } Edit 2 people have suggested whitelisting. I actually like the idea of whitelisting but never actually did it because no one can actually tell me how to do it in C# and I can't even really find tutorials for how to do it in c#(the last time I looked. I will check it out again). How do you make a white list? Is it just a list collection? How do you actual parse out all html tags, script tags and every other tag? Once you have the tags how do you determine which ones are allowed? Compare them to you list collection? But what happens if the content is coming in and has like 100 tags and you have 50 allowed. You got to compare each of those 100 tag by 50 allowed tags. Thats quite a bit to go through and could be slow. Once you found a invalid tag how do you remove it? I don't really want to reject a whole set of text if one tag was found to be invalid. I rather remove and insert the rest. Should I be using html agility pack?

  • ASP.MVC 1.0 complex ViewModel not populating on Action

    - by Graham
    Hi, I'm 3 days into learning MVC for a new project and i've managed to stumble my way over the multitude of issues I've come across - mainly about something as simple as moving data to a view and back into the controller in a type-safe (and manageable) manner. This is the latest. I've seen this reported before but nothing advised has seemed to work. I have a complex view model: public class IndexViewModel : ApplicationViewModel { public SearchFragment Search { get; private set; } public IndexViewModel() { this.Search = new SearchFragment(); } } public class SearchFragment { public string ItemId { get; set; } public string Identifier { get; set; } } This maps to (the main Index page): %@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<IndexViewModel>" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <% Html.BeginForm("Search", AvailableControllers.Search, FormMethod.Post); %> <div id="search"> <% Html.RenderPartial("SearchControl", Model.Search); %> </div> <% Html.EndForm(); %> </asp:Content> and a UserControl: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<SearchFragment>" %> <p> <label for="itemId"> <%= Html.Resource("ItemId") %></label> <%= Html.TextBox("itemId", Model.ItemId)%> </p> <p> <label for="title"> <%= Html.Resource("Title") %></label> <%= Html.TextBox("identifier", Model.Identifier)%> </p> <p> <input type="submit" value="<%= Html.Resource("Search") %>" name="search" /> </p> This is returned to the following method: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Search(IndexViewModel viewModel) { .... } My problem is that when the view model is rehydrated from the View into the ViewModel, the SearchFragment elements are null. I suspect this is because the default model binder doesn't realise the HTML ItemId and Identifier elements rendered inline in the View map to the SearchFragment class. When I have two extra properties (ItemId and Identifier) in the IndexViewModel, the values are bound correctly. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, I must use the SearchFragment as I need this to strongly type the Search UserControl... as the control can be used anywhere it can operate under any parent view. I really don't want to make it use "magic strings". There's too much of that going on already IMO. I've tried prefixing the HTML with "Search." in the hope that the model binder would recognise "Search.ItemId" and match to the IndexViewModel "Search" property and the ItemId within it, but this doesn't work. I fear I'm going to have to write my own ModelBinder to do this, but surely this must be something you can do out-of-the-box?? Failing that is there any other suggestions (or link to someone who has already done this?) Here's hoping....

  • Expanding Rows for Unique Checkboxes

    - by Marc Morgan
    I was just recently given a project for my job to write a script that compares two mysql databases and print out information into an html table. Currently, I am trying to insert a checkbox by each individual's name and when selected, rows pertaining to that individual will expand underneath the person's name. I am combining javascript into my script to do this, although I really have no experience is it. The problem I am having is that when any checkbox is selected, all the rows for each individual is expanding instead of the rows pertaining only to the one individual selected. Here is the coding so far: <?php $link = mysql_connect ($server = "harris.lib.fit.edu", $username = "", $password = "") or die(mysql_error()); $db = mysql_select_db ("library-test") or die(mysql_error()); $ids = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `ifc_studylog`") or die(mysql_error()); //not single quotes (tilda apostrophy) $x=0; $n=0; while($row = mysql_fetch_array( $ids )) { $tracksid1[$x] = $row['fitID']; $checkin[$x] = $row['checkin']; $checkout[$x] = $row['checkout']; $n++; $x++; } $names = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `ifc_users`") or die(mysql_error()); //not single quotes (tilda apostrophy) $x=0; while($row = mysql_fetch_array( $names )) { $tracksnamefirst[$x] = $row['firstName']; $tracksnamesecond[$x] = $row['lastname']; $tracksid2[$x] = $row['fitID']; $tracksuser[$x] = $row['tracks']; $x++; } $x=0; foreach($tracksid2 as $comparename) { $chk = strval($x); ?> <script type='text/javascript' src='http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.js'></script> <script type='text/javascript'> $(window).load(function () { $('.varx').click(function () { $('.text').toggle(this.checked); });}); </script> <?php echo '<td><input id = "<?=$chk?>" type="checkbox" class="varx" /></td>'; echo '<td align="center">'.$comparename.'</td>'; echo'<td align="center">'.$tracksnamefirst[$x].'</td>'; echo'<td align="center">'.$tracksnamesecond[$x].'</td>'; $z=0; foreach($tracksid1 as $compareid) { $HH=0; $MM =0; $SS =0; if($compareid == $comparename)// && $tracks==$tracksuser[$x]) { $SS = sprintf("%02s",(($checkout[$z]-$checkin[$z])%60)); $MM = sprintf("%02s",(($checkout[$z]-$checkin[$z])/60 %60)); $HH = sprintf("%02s",(($checkout[$z]-$checkin[$z])/3600 %24)); // echo'<td align="center">'.$HH.':'.$MM.':'.$SS.'</td>'; echo '</tr>'; echo '<tr>'; echo "<td id='txt' class='text' align='center' colspan='2' style='display:none'></td>"; echo "<td id='txt' class='text' align='center' style='display:none'>".$checkin[$z]."</td>"; echo '</tr>'; } echo '<tr>'; $z++; echo '</tr>'; } $x++; } } ?> Any Help is appreciated and sorry if I am too vague on the subject.   • Custom Template and Layered Navigation

    - by russjman
    I created a custom template for the category view that displays all subcategories for current category. When i set the current category as is_anchor = yes in the admin, the layered navigation filters show up in the side bar. The Sub categories is one of the filters are there as well, but when i click on one them the page still displays all subcategories. I would like to some how test for active filters in my custom template, which i assume there has to be a way to get this info from Magento. Below is my custom code. $_filters is how i am trying to access these filters, but it gives me nothing. Am i invoking this incorrectly, from the wrong place, in the wrong context? <?php $_helper = $this->helper('catalog/output'); $_filters = $this->getActiveFilters(); echo $_filters; if (!Mage::registry('current_category')) return ?> <?php $_categories=$this->getCurrentChildCategories() ?> <?php $_count = is_array($_categories)?count($_categories):$_categories->count(); ?> <?php if($_count): ?> <?php foreach ($_categories as $_category): ?> <?php if($_category->getIsActive()): ?> <?php $cur_category=Mage::getModel('catalog/category')->load($_category->getId()); $layer = Mage::getSingleton('catalog/layer'); $layer->setCurrentCategory($cur_category); $_imgHtml = ''; if ($_imgUrl = $this->getCurrentCategory()->getImageUrl()) { $_imgHtml = '<img src="'.$_imgUrl.'" alt="'.$this->htmlEscape($_category->getName()).'" title="'.$this->htmlEscape($_category->getName()).'" class="category-image" />'; $_imgHtml = $_helper->categoryAttribute($_category, $_imgHtml, 'image'); } echo $_category->getImageUrl(); ?> <div class="category-image-box"> <div class="category-description clearfix" > <div class="category-description-textbox" > <h2><span><?php echo $this->htmlEscape($_category->getName()) ?></span></h2> <p><?php echo $this->getCurrentCategory()->getDescription() ?></p> </div> <a href="<?php echo $this->getCategoryUrl($_category) ?>" class="collection-link<?php if ($this->isCategoryActive($_category)): ?> active<?php endif ?>" >See Entire Collection</a> <a href="<?php echo $this->getCategoryUrl($_category) ?>"><?php if($_imgUrl): ?><?php echo $_imgHtml ?><?php else: ?><img src="/store/skin/frontend/default/patio_theme/images/category-photo.jpg" class="category-image" alt="collection" /><?php endif; ?></a> </div> <?php echo '<pre>'.print_r($_category->getData()).'</pre>';?> </div> <?php endif; ?> <?php endforeach ?> <?php endif; ?>

  • What does the `forall` keyword in Haskell/GHC do?

    - by JUST MY correct OPINION
    I've been banging my head on this one for (quite literally) years now. I'm beginning to kinda/sorta understand how the foreach keyword is used in so-called "existential types" like this: data ShowBox = forall s. Show s => SB s (This despite the confusingly-worded explanations of it in the fragments found all around the web.) This is only a subset, however, of how foreach is used and I simply cannot wrap my mind around its use in things like this: runST :: forall a. (forall s. ST s a) -> a Or explaining why these are different: foo :: (forall a. a -> a) -> (Char,Bool) bar :: forall a. ((a -> a) -> (Char, Bool)) Or the whole RankNTypes stuff that breaks my brain when "explained" in a way that makes me want to do that Samuel L. Jackson thing from Pulp Fiction. (Don't follow that link if you're easily offended by strong language.) The problem, really, is that I'm a dullard. I can't fathom the chicken scratchings (some call them "formulae") of the elite mathematicians that created this language seeing as my university years are over two decades behind me and I never actually had to put what I learnt into use in practice. I also tend to prefer clear, jargon-free English rather than the kinds of language which are normal in academic environments. Most of the explanations I attempt to read on this (the ones I can find through search engines) have these problems: They're incomplete. They explain one part of the use of this keyword (like "existential types") which makes me feel happy until I read code that uses it in a completely different way (like runST, foo and bar above). They're densely packed with assumptions that I've read the latest in whatever branch of discrete math, category theory or abstract algebra is popular this week. (If I never read the words "consult the paper whatever for details of implementation" again, it will be too soon.) They're written in ways that frequently turn even simple concepts into tortuously twisted and fractured grammar and semantics. (I suspect that the last two items are the biggest problem. I wouldn't know, though, since I'm too much a dullard to comprehend them.) It's been asked why Haskell never really caught on in industry. I suspect, in my own humble, unintelligent way, that my experience in figuring out one stupid little keyword -- a keyword that is increasingly ubiquitous in the libraries being written these days -- are also part of the answer to that question. It's hard for a language to catch on when even its individual keywords cause years-long quests to comprehend. Years-long quests which end in failure. So... On to the actual question. Can anybody completely explain the foreach keyword in clear, plain English (or, if it exists somewhere, point to such a clear explanation which I've missed) that doesn't assume I'm a mathematician steeped in the jargon?

  • Jquery autocomplete UI - No results on multiple fields

    - by pjammer
    Andrew's answer to my comment has sparked this question. According to his awesome answer in the link above, the code at the bottom of the question will only work for ONE widget. But it's killer nice code and makes sense... I guess I want the best of both worlds. Nice JS, (if that is possible) and to have the zero results show() just the element that we're using at the time. This code snippet is the main crux of my problem, as I see it: source: function (request, response) { jQuery.ajax({ url: "/autocomplete.json", data: { term: request.term }, success: function (data) { if (data.length == 0) { jQuery('span.guest_investor_email').show(); jQuery('span.investor_field_delete_button').show(); } response(data); } }); Currently: I have a button on my page that says "Add more Information" and each time you click it, a new instance of the autocomplete text field appears, complete with some hidden fields and a display:none; on guest_investor_email. If I use the autocomplete text field, say 3 times, and i have 3 autocomplete instances on the page and the third one finds 0 results: The code will show() all 3 instances of the guest_investor_email text field, instead of just this one that is blank. QUESTION: How do i get something like jQuery(this).siblings(('span.guest_investor_email').show(); to work? this is an Object and not an array of elements to select. If it isn't with this I don't mind, as long as I know how to get at it. Thanks. Full Code: jQuery(".auto_search_complete").live("click", function() { jQuery(this).autocomplete({ minLength: 3, source: function (request, response) { jQuery.ajax({ url: "/autocomplete.json", data: { term: request.term }, success: function (data) { if (data.length == 0) { jQuery('span.guest_investor_email').show(); jQuery('span.investor_field_delete_button').show(); } response(data); } }); }, focus: function(event, ui) { jQuery(this).val(ui.item.user ? ui.item.user.name : ui.item.pitch.name); return false; }, select: function(event, ui) { jQuery(this).val(ui.item.user ? ui.item.user.name : ui.item.pitch.name); jQuery(this).siblings('div.hidden_fields').children('.poly_id').val(ui.item.user ? ui.item.user.id : ui.item.pitch.id); jQuery(this).siblings('div.hidden_fields').children('.poly_type').val(ui.item.user ? "User" : "Pitch"); jQuery(this).siblings('span.guest_investor_email').hide(); jQuery(this).siblings('span.investor_field_delete_button').show(); jQuery(this).attr('readonly','readonly'); jQuery(this).attr('id', "investor-selected"); return false; } }).each(function() { jQuery(this).data( "autocomplete" )._renderItem = function( ul, item ) { return jQuery( "" ) .data( "item.autocomplete", item ) .append("" + (item.user ? item.user.name : item.pitch.name) + "" + (item.user ? item.user.investor_type : item.pitch.investor_type) + " - " + (item.user ? item.user.city : item.pitch.city) + "" ) .appendTo( ul ); }; }); });

  • jQuery tablesorter sorting not working

    - by jknox
    I'm using jQuery tablesorter plugin to generate dynamically a table from a csv file, and that part is working fine. However whenever i try to sort the table by clicking on the table headers, firebug reports this problem in the console: parsers is undefined return parsers[i].type;\n Initially i though this problem was being caused by the table not being ready after the document loads, so i fixed that by manually calling tablesorter() after my table was rendered from the csv file. this didn't fix the issue though. Also, at the very end of the table, the table is drawn garbled with some gray areas at the end. I suppose this is related to the error above. The code in question is this: <html> <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="blue/style.css" type="text/css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.tablesorter.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.csv.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" id="js"> function sortThis() { $("#myTable").tablesorter({ // sortList:[[0,0],[2,1]] }); }; </script> <title>huh!?</title> </head> <body> <table id="myTable" class="tablesorter" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0" border="0"> <thead> <tr> <th>name</th> <th>type</th> <th>Date</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <script type="text/javascript"> $.get('myfile.csv', function(data) { myfile = jQuery.csv()(data) for (var x = 0; x < myfile.length; x++) { str = "<tr>"; for (var y = 0; y < myfile[x].length; y++) { str += "<td>" + myfile[x][y] + "</td>"; } str += "</tr>"; $('#myTable').append(str); } }); sortThis(); </script> </tbody> </table> </body> </html> Thanks in advance for your help.

  • CSS menu items flickering in IE6

    - by Quick Joe Smith
    Edit #1: I have just discovered this flicker bug affects IE8 (and therefore most likely IE7) as well. I am putting together a pure-CSS dropdown menu (mostly a learning exercise) and have hit a point in IE where the submenu items are flickering as the mouse moves around within the <li> but outside the inner <a>. Source code is as follows: The included csshover3.htc is downloadable from Peter Nederlof's page for Whatever:hover <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>CSS Menu</title> <style type="text/css"> body { behavior: url("csshover3.htc"); } div#navbar { background-color:#333; font-size:1.4em; overflow:auto; } div#navbar ul { display:inline-block; /* ie6 float container bug */ list-style:none; margin:0px; padding:0px; } div#navbar ul.menu li { float:left; display:inline; /* ie6 double-margin bug */ } div#navbar ul.menu a { display:block; text-decoration:none; color:#fff; padding:5px 10px; } div#navbar ul li a:link, div#navbar ul li a:visited { text-decoration:none; } div#navbar ul li a:hover { color:#333; background-color:#f6c323; } div#navbar ul.menu ul { display:none; } div#navbar ul.menu li:hover ul { display:block; position:absolute; background-color:#333; } div#navbar ul.menu li:hover ul li { float:none; } div#navbar ul.menu li:hover ul ul { display:none; } div#navbar ul.menu li:hover li:hover { position:relative; } div#navbar ul.menu li:hover li:hover ul { display:block; position:absolute; left:100%; top:0; } </style> </head> <body> <h1>CSS Menu</h1> <div id="navbar"> <ul class="menu"> <li><a href="#">A</a></li> <li> <a>B</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">123</a></li> <li><a href="#">2</a></li> <li> <a>Tweee</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">Phwoar</a></li> <li><a href="#">Gr</a></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">C</a></li> </ul> </div> </body> </html> Live demo: http://jsfiddle.net/4q6Vw/ Any help is appreciated.

  • Ensuring a divs content has changed over time in Selenium

    - by Stewart Robinson
    I have a div that contains a slideshow. ( http://film.robinhoodtax.org/issues/education ) I am using Selenium to test it. So far I have been using the HTML/Selenium script below to validate that the slideshow is actually working. But my assertEval is failing. How can I correctly detect the slideshow and make sure it is moving?. You can see I've approached this by storing the HTML and waiting then trying again but it isn't working. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head profile="http://selenium-ide.openqa.org/profiles/test-case"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <link rel="selenium.base" href="" /> <title>New Test</title> </head> <body> <table cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" border="1"> <thead> <tr><td rowspan="1" colspan="3">New Test</td></tr> </thead><tbody> <tr> <td>open</td> <td>/issues/education</td> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td>waitForPageToLoad</td> <td></td> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td>assertElementPresent</td> <td>css=div[id='views-nivo-slider-ImagesGallery-block_1']</td> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td>storeHtmlSource</td> <td>css=div[id='views-nivo-slider-ImagesGallery-block_1']</td> <td>first</td> </tr> <tr> <td>pause</td> <td>3000</td> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td>storeHtmlSource</td> <td>css=div[id='views-nivo-slider-ImagesGallery-block_1']</td> <td>second</td> </tr> <tr> <td>assertEval</td> <td>${first} == ${second}</td> <td>second</td> </tr> </tbody></table> </body> </html>
