• Downloading videos from a flash website

  There are those plugins that can capture flash videos from websites like Youtube and others. There's also the browsing cache which keeps the videos and I can copy them somewhere else and have them stored on my computer. I know of these, but how can I download a video from a website that (I think) is all flash because the address doesn't change wherever you navigate to and so it stays the same when you play a video that's on the website? No plugin I've tried (realplayer, ant video downloadr, IDM) have worked with it and nothing gets cached from that website.

• No sounds played in google chrome tabs

  I have somehow muted all the tabs in my google chrome. Youtube and other flash players are playing video, but there is no sound. In Window 7 Volume mixer I can see Google chrome icon and it has muted icon there. But clicking that icon unmute sounds just for a second and then it's muted back on. Seems that chrome itself or some of it extensions are turning mute... Update: How do I mute certain tabs in Chrome? question seems related, but I don't have MuteTab extension installed in Chrome.

  I am using Linux mint OS since an Year , I use to consistently download updates and install , I use chrome as a default browser , when ever I open youtube and watch some video , I listen to some repetition in sound ( say repeated lyrics of song ) while it is playing , In firefox it is working fine . What is the problem am I missing any plugin , AFAIK Chrome doesn't need a flash player plug in , It has a built in flash player . IS that the problem ? And also previously I was not facing this , recently I started using Cinimon UI centOS after this all these kind of problems started MY hard ware is 64 bit intel core i3 and also I have installed linux mint 64 bit Please let me know what is the problem and how to fix this . • Change the audio output device in Firefox

  I'm trying to play music through Ventrilo and currently I use Virtual Audio Cable. The way it works is that in foobar2000 (a music playing program) I set the output device in preferences to Virtual Audio Cable. Then in Ventrilo I log in to another name and set the input device to Virtual Audio Cable. This routes the music through the Virtual Audio Cable and allows me to play the music through Ventrilo. However, I would also like to change the output device for Firefox (or any other browser) or "Plugin Container for Firefix" to Virtual Audio Cable so that I could play music from Pandora or YouTube on to Ventrilo. Unfortunately I could not find an option for this anywhere.

• Streaming video in Virtualbox jumpy

  I am trying to get Netflix to work on my Ubuntu netbook. I know it will not run in Linux so I am trying it in my Win XP virtual machine. It streams the video but the sound and video are out of sync and the video often freezes and jumps. I have tried Firefox, Chrome, and even IE. I am thinking my Atom N455 processor does not work well with virtualization. All other apps in the VM work fine. The only issue is streaming [YouTube is jumpy too].Does anyone know of Virtualbox settings I can try to possibly fix this issue or am I out of luck?

• Alternatives to the ClickToPlugin Safari extension for Chrome users

  I have been using Safari with ClickToPlugin and was wondering if there was anything similar for Chrome. I am looking for both the click-through to plugin functionality as well as the HTML5 video replacements. I've done some looking around the Chrome extensions page and found some specific extensions to help with forcing the HTML5 on YouTube or to block Flash but none seem offer the generic functionality (click-through works for any given plugin) and flexibility that ClickToPlugin does (ClickToPlugin has HTML5 video replacements for a plethora of websites). I am looking to mimic the aforementioned features in Chrome, but they don't necessarily have to be provided by one single extension.

• Decreasing lagging on router, while gaming

  I had absolutely no idea where to post this question and get a professional answer for it but here goes... Okay, so I guess everyone whos is reading this had played online, and so I was playing LoL again tonight and my brother decided that now was a great time to go on youtube and start watching a movie, so my ping (connecting from South Africa to EU west server) is around 190-220 average, however it started spiking to 2000 and average was 600-800, so it arised the question, how ther hell can I "kick" him off for the time being I tried reasoning it out with him but its like playing chess with a pigeon, he's studying to be an engineer, and I just cant win an argument with him, so i need to step it up a level... I have in the past used the aireplay method by sending deauth packets but it only helped so much, is there another way of either kicking a peer of the local wifi or decreasing the lag spikes while in session or even splitting the bandwidth equally in 2 or 3,etc What do I do p.s. sorry if off topic, if it is not appropriate, just say which website will be able to help or assist me...

• Rsync and Windows 7

  Can someone give me any tips on setting up some sort of Rsync server/client on Windows 7 to run rsync between both my web hosting server, and a backup server that I have running Ubuntu? I've tried setting it up with this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvwdkZLNtnA Using copssh, and cwrsync. Ran into all sorts of troubles, including not being able to get cwrsync to run (it installs properly, but never starts up), and copssh not generating the keys at all. The guy was running Windows Server 2003, though, so I'm guessing the problems could just be because I'm running Windows 7. I've been trying to set it up with my Windows machine being the rsync server, and then Ubuntu and my webhosting VPS as the clients, but I realize it may be easier (and make more sense) to just setup the rsync server on Ubuntu, and then an rsync client on Windows 7?   Hi, I'm trying to add a watermark and a credits image to all of my old videos. I downloaded them off YouTube so they are all flv (H.264?). Is there some software that will allow me do simple edits in batches? I know a little bit of Python and tried looking at some of the library but they all seem like overkill (and way above my head). So is there a solution besides getting some software and going through all my videos and doing it manually? They are all mostly the same length, but it would be nice to specify a relative position for my credits. e.g. show a static image for 10 seconds when the video is at 95%

This is the original image: http://i.imagehost.org/0148/movie_watermark.png ! The stretching, blurring, pixelating etc. most likely comes from resizing the original video from 1920x1200 to 1280x720 and encoding it with h.264. Can anyone tell me how I can prevent the blurring, unsharpening and pixelating and retain their original quality? How do I exclude the logo from the whole encoding process and just slap it there in its original format and form?

• Why does the task pictogram flashes instead of opening the program?

  Sometimes, when I select a click a program on the Windows 7 taskbar it won't appear (it doesn't gain focus and remains behind other open windows), and the icon will flash and turn orange. This happens reasonably frequently, and I've had it happen on two separate Windows installs on different machines. It just happened now and the only programs I have with active windows are Chrome, WMP and Explorer (2). It happened when I clicked Explorer. Once this has happened to one window, it affects all windows, and the only way I can switch between programs is by finding the window manually or using Windows+Tab. The only way I've come across to get the computer to snap out of this annoying behaviour is to restart the machine. Is there a way of stopping it?   I bought a new sound card because my built in sound card did not function. When I open YouTube, Media Player or anything that can create a sound my computer will hang up and sometimes when I start my computer it will hang when the Windows XP sound will activate. Update: My computer has no audio. It says NO AUDIO DEVICE. I already installed Realtek AC97 and Realtek High Definition Audio Driver and I also pasted stream.dll to the Windows and system32 folders and I restarted my computer but it still says NO AUDIO DEVICE. • DVI to HDMI - displaying bad.

  I currently have a computer with a ASUS EAH5770 (ATi Radeon HD 5770) 1GB GDDR5 video card, and 4GB ram, 2.6 GHZ i5 processor. I just switched from a DVI (the blue one) to an HDMI cable. (Bigben Flat cable HDMI 1.3c) I use a Samsung SyncMaster 2032 MW, which has a HDMI input. The weird thing is, that my screen is off-the-corner of the tv (so it's too wide) (1920x1080), and windows icons and text are not displaying well, though 1080p videos in YouTube are looking brilliant, just like pictures. So i think it has something to do with Windows. I already have the ATI Catalyst Control Center with the drivers i received with my video card. I do not currently know how to fix these problems. Do i have to reinstall Windows or so? Or is it (hopefully) easier?

• Green bar on top of every (web) video, distorted colors too

  Hey since a few days I have a problem with some videos I watch on the web (youtube, vimeo etc). There is a green bar on the top of the video and the colors are distorted, it looks like they are somehow shifted. I am not sure since when this problem appeared, I guess it might have been an update for the flash player. Anyways, I found a workaround. Disabling the hardware acceleration helps. right click on video - settings - disable hardware acceleration. After reloading of the page the green bar is gone. The problem is taht this setting doesn't seem to be persistent and so I have to disable it again on every other video. How can I make this setting permanent or how to get rid of the green bar alltogether? (I will add a screenshot later)

• Windows 8.1 backlight turns off

  This is one of the strangest things I have ever seen. I have an HP Elitebook 8460p and recently updated my Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. Now when I have certain windows open and focused (it's always different, sometimes it's chrome, sometimes it's the control-panel and so on, there is no clear pattern) the backlight of the screen is completely turned off - when I take a torch and point it to the screen or hold it to a bright-light source I can see there is still a picture there you can even work (or better said you cuold if you'd see anything). When I tab to certain other windows the screen goes back to normal back light - I can then tab back to the other window and the backlight will be turned off again. I have no idea what's going on and also no idea what information you need. The display-adapter I got is the AMD Radeon HD 6400M - I tried updating to the newest driver but that didn't help.   I have a HP pavillion core 2 duo 2 GHz and 4 GB RAM, and it is painful to use this machine for any kind of coding. Eclipse (especially Juno) literally takes 5 minutes to load. And even after that, everything is lagy. Apart from school stuff, I also use my computer as a television. I watch Hulu, Netflix, YouTube etc in 720p, and this laptop gets hot as hell and the fans are loud enough to wake somebody up from deep sleep. I DON'T use my laptop for Gaming or Video/Photo Editing. I'm looking to buy a new laptop (in which most widely used IDEs would work smoothly and playing hi-def videos wouldn't be too much for the machine to handle) any suggestions (on hardware specs) would be greatly appreciated.   After using MacBook for two years, I bought 17'' MacBook Pro. I'm pretty happy with it, performance and all, but I also was going to record some music videos for YouTube. I play guitar and sing. However I was extremely disappointed with the sound quality that comes by default. I'm 100% sure my 13'' MacBook mic was much better at recording music and singing. Currently mic can't event handle acoustic guitar, outputting sound you'd think was recorded 5 years ago in ARM format on a Nokia phone on a loud concert. It totally feels like some lame filter is cutting low and high frequencies. I want to know what settings (visible or hidden) in iMovie or Mac OS itself I might want to tweak in order to get my MBP mic record clean sound.

  I'm somewhat hard of hearing. I've been listening to my windows Vista machine with a pair of headphones so I don't annoy the others. I have 2 issues: 1) the volume varies enormously depending on the source. Having a windows alert occur while I am listening to a DVD or Youtube is a painful experience. Is there a preferred way to set all the different audio controls so I have a more constant volume? I already have lowered the volumes of the windows alerts. 2)Is there a way to limit the volume of my headphones to protect what is left of my hearing?
