  • Deleted array value still showing up on foreach loop in AS3 (bug in flash?)

    - by nexus
    It took me many hours to narrow down a problem in some code to this reproducible error, which seems to me like a bug in AVM2. Can anyone shed light on why this is occurring or how to fix it? When the value at index 1 is deleted and a value is subsequently set at index 0, the non-existent (undefined) value at index 1 will now show up in a foreach loop. I have only been able to produce this outcome with index 1 and 0 (not any other n and n-1). Run this code: package { import flash.display.Sprite; public class Main extends Sprite { public function Main():void { var bar : Array = new Array(6); out(bar); //proper behavior trace("bar[1] = 1", bar[1] = 1); out(bar); //proper behavior trace("delete bar[1]", delete bar[1]); out(bar); //proper behavior trace("bar[4] = 4", bar[4] = 4); out(bar); //for each loop will now iterate over the undefined position at index 1 trace("bar[0] = 0", bar[0] = 0); out(bar); trace("bar[3] = 3", bar[3] = 3); out(bar); } private function out(bar:Array):void { trace(bar); for each(var i : * in bar) { trace(i); } } } } It will give this output: ,,,,, bar[1] = 1 1 ,1,,,, 1 delete bar[1] true ,,,,, bar[4] = 4 4 ,,,,4, 4 bar[0] = 0 0 0,,,,4, 0 undefined 4 bar[3] = 3 3 0,,,3,4, 0 undefined 4 3

  • InputStreamBody in HttpMime 4.0.3 settings for content-length

    - by Ram
    I am trying to send a multi part formdata post through my java code. Can someone tell me how to set Content Length in the following?? There seem to be headers involved when we use InputStreamBody which implements the ContentDescriptor interface. Doing a getContentLength on the InputStreamBody gives me -1 after i add the content. I subclassed it to give contentLength the length of my byte array but am not sure if other headers required by ContentDescriptor will be set for a proper POST. HttpClient httpclient = new DefaultHttpClient(); HttpPost httpPost = new HttpPost(myURL); ContentBody cb = new InputStreamBody(new ByteArrayInputStream(bytearray), myMimeType, filename); //ContentBody cb = new ByteArrayBody(bytearray, myMimeType, filename); MultipartEntity mpentity = new MultipartEntity(HttpMultipartMode.BROWSER_COMPATIBLE); mpentity.addPart("key", new StringBody("SOME_KEY")); mpentity.addPart("output", new StringBody("SOME_NAME")); mpentity.addPart("content", cb); httpPost.setEntity(mpentity); HttpResponse response = httpclient.execute(httpPost); HttpEntity resEntity = response.getEntity();

  • How to read.table with "Hebrew" column names (in R)?

    - by Tal Galili
    Hi all, I am trying to read a .txt file, with Hebrew column names, but without success. I uploaded an example file to: http://www.talgalili.com/files/aa.txt And am trying the command: read.table("http://www.talgalili.com/files/aa.txt", header = T, sep = "\t") This returns me with: X.....ª X...ª...... • How to implement the "System.out.println(ClassName::MethodName <then my message>)" of Eclipse in Netbeans?

    - by Sen
    I would like to know if there is the same feature as in eclipse to automatically generate and print the System.out.println(ClassName::MethodName <then my message>) functionality (which will print the class name and method name for debugging in the console) in Netbeans also. For example, in Eclipse Editor, Typing syst + Ctrl+ Space will auto generate a System.out.println(ClassName::MethodName ) type output in the console. Is such a method available in Netbeans? As of now, I have only two methods here in Netbeans: sout + Tab (System.out.println()) and soutv + Tab (System.out.println(prints the variable used just above the line)) automatically. Let me rephrase, instead of myMethod1, I want to get the enclosing method name. Eg. : public class X { public void myMethod1(int a) { System.out.println(X::myMethod1()); // This should be produced when I type the Code-Template abbreviation (example: syst) and press tab (or corresponding key). } } public class Y { public void myMethod2(int b) { System.out.println(Y::myMethod2()); // This should be produced when I type the Code-Template abbreviation (example: syst) and press tab (or corresponding key). } } Update: With the following code template: syst = System.out.println("${classVar editable="false" currClassName default="getClass()"}"); I am able to print the classname, but still no clue for the Method name.

  • Exclude notes based on attribute wildcard in XSL node selection

    - by C A
    Using cruisecontrol for continuous integration, I have some annoyances with Weblogic Ant tasks and how they think that server debug information are warnings rather than debug, so are shown in my build report emails. The XML output from cruise is similar to: <cruisecontrol> <build> <target name="compile-xxx"> <task name="xxx" /> </target> <target name="xxx.weblogic"> <task name="wldeploy"> <message priority="warn">Message which isn't really a warning"</message> </task> </target> </build> </cruisecontrol> In the cruisecontrol XSL template the current selection for the task list is: <xsl:variable name="tasklist" select="/cruisecontrol/build//target/task"/> What I would like is something which selects the tasklist in the same way, but doesn't include any target nodes which have the attribute name="*weblogic" where * is a wildcard. I have tried <xsl:variable name="tasklist" select="/cruisecontrol/build//target[@name!='*weblogic']/task"/> but this doesn't seem to have worked. I'm not an expert with XSLT, and just want to get this fixed so I can carry on the real development of the project. Any help is much appreciated.

  • Displaying text in correct column

    - by wrongusername
    After getting a helpful answer here, I have run into yet another problem: displaying two or more strings in the column I want it to be displayed in. For an example of the problem I have, I want this output: Come here! where? not here! but instead get Come here! where? not here! when I use the code cout << left << setw(30) << "Come here!" << " where? " << setw(20) << "not here!" << endl; I made sure (I think) that the width of both columns could contain the two strings, but no matter how large I set the width of the columns to be, the error is still there.

  • How can I get 100% test coverage in a Perl module that uses DBI?

    - by BrianH
    I am a bit new to the Devel::Cover module, but have found it very useful in making sure I am not missing tests. A problem I am running into is understanding the report from Devel::Cover. I've looked at the documentation, but can't figure out what I need to test to get 100% coverage. Here is the output from the cover report: line err stmt bran cond sub pod time code ... 36 sub connect_database { 37 3 3 1 1126 my $self = shift; 38 3 100 24 if ( !$self->{dsn} ) { 39 1 7 croak 'dsn not supplied - cannot connect'; 40 } 41 *** 2 33 21 $self->{dbh} = DBI->connect( $self->{dsn}, q{}, q{} ) 42 || croak "$DBI::errstr"; 43 1 11 return $self; 44 } ... line err % l !l&&r !l&&!r expr ----- --- ------ ------ ------ ------ ---- 41 *** 33 1 0 0 'DBI'->connect($$self{'dsn'}, '', '') || croak("$DBI::errstr") And here is and example of my code that tests this specific line: my $database = MyModule::Database->new( { dsn => 'Invalid DSN' }); throws_ok( sub { $database->connect_database() }, qr/Can't connect to data source/, 'Test connection exception (invalid dsn)' ); This test passes - the connect does throw an error and fulfills my "throws_ok" test. I do have some tests that test for a successful connection, which is why I think I have 33% coverage, but if I'm reading it correctly, cover thinks I am not testing the "|| croak" part of the statement. I thought I was, with the "throws_ok" test, but obviously I am missing something. Does anyone have advice on how I can test my DBI-connect line successfully? Thanks!

  • Connector/C++ compile error

  • How to get the earliest checkout-able revision info from subversion?

    - by zhongshu
    I want to check a svn url and to get the earliest revision, then checkout it, I don't want to use HEAD because I will compare the earliest revision to others. so I use "svn info" to get the "Last Changed Rev" for the url like this: D:\Project>svn info svn://.../branches/.../path Path: ... URL: svn://.../branches/.../path Repository Root: svn://yt-file-srv/ Repository UUID: 9ed5ffd7-7585-a14e-96b2-4aab7121bb21 Revision: 2400 Node Kind: directory Last Changed Author: xxx Last Changed Rev: 2396 Last Changed Date: 2010-03-12 09:31:52 +0800 but, I found the 2396 revision is not checkout-able, because this path is in a branch copied from trunk, and the 2396 is the revision modified in the trunk. so when I use svn checkout -r 2396, I will get a working copy for the path in the trunk, then I can not do checkin for the branch. D:\Project>svn checkout svn://.../branches/.../path -r 2396 workcopy ..... ..... D:\Project>svn info workcopy Path: workcopy URL: svn://.../trunk/.../path Repository Root: svn://yt-file-srv/ Repository UUID: 9ed5ffd7-7585-a14e-96b2-4aab7121bb21 Revision: 2396 Node Kind: directory Schedule: normal Last Changed Author: xxx Last Changed Rev: 2396 Last Changed Date: 2010-03-12 09:31:52 +0800 So, my question is how to get a checkout-able revision for the branch path, for this example, I want to get 2397 (because 2397 is the revision which copy occur). And I know "svn log" can get the info, but "svn log" output maybe very long and parse it will be difficult than "svn info". I just want know which revision is the earliest checkout-able revision for the path.

  • How (and if) to write a single-consumer queue using the task parallel library?

    - by Eric
    I've heard a bunch of podcasts recently about the TPL in .NET 4.0. Most of them describe background activities like downloading images or doing a computation, using tasks so that the work doesn't interfere with a GUI thread. Most of the code I work on has more of a multiple-producer / single-consumer flavor, where work items from multiple sources must be queued and then processed in order. One example would be logging, where log lines from multiple threads are sequentialized into a single queue for eventual writing to a file or database. All the records from any single source must remain in order, and records from the same moment in time should be "close" to each other in the eventual output. So multiple threads or tasks or whatever are all invoking a queuer: lock( _queue ) // or use a lock-free queue! { _queue.enqueue( some_work ); _queueSemaphore.Release(); } And a dedicated worker thread processes the queue: while( _queueSemaphore.WaitOne() ) { lock( _queue ) { some_work = _queue.dequeue(); } deal_with( some_work ); } It's always seemed reasonable to dedicate a worker thread for the consumer side of these tasks. Should I write future programs using some construct from the TPL instead? Which one? Why?

  • Call to a member function ... on a non-object

    i have an object which is instantiated in an initialize file, which is called with every request. the name is right, so why is it telling me that oourls isn't an object and that redirectLoggedIn isn't its method? a var dump on oourls says NULL. but it's instantiated, and the backtrace at the bottom shows that it goes through initialization and instantiates it. pretty small snippet of code, here's the relevant bit: if($email) { global $session; $session->grantLogin($email); global $oourls; $oourls->redirectLoggedIn(); } else { return false; } and here's the output of debug_print_backtrace i threw in above the oourls method call because i'm completely confused: #0 accounts::verifyEmailRegisterAccount(37a6274c8f4bfa5c537b40e8e04d634a) called at [\public\includes\default\verifyemail.php:16] #1 require_once(\public\includes\default\verifyemail.php) called at [\support\php\ObjectOrientedURLs.class.php:48] #2 ObjectOrientedURLs->mhqqrVerifyemail(Array ([0] => 37a6274c8f4bfa5c537b40e8e04d634a)) #3 ReflectionMethod->invoke(ObjectOrientedURLs Object (), Array ([0] => 37a6274c8f4bfa5c537b40e8e04d634a)) called at [\support\php\ObjectOrientedURLs.class.php:280] #4 ObjectOrientedURLs->parseAndInvokeURL() called at [\support\php\ObjectOrientedURLs.class.php:255] #5 ObjectOrientedURLs->__construct() called at [\support\php\initialize.php:76] #6 require_once(\support\php\initialize.php) called at [\public\index.php:2]

  • Python: Parsing a colon delimited file with various counts of fields

    - by Mark
    I'm trying to parse a a few files with the following format in 'clientname'.txt hostname:comp1 time: Fri Jan 28 20:00:02 GMT 2011 ip:xxx.xxx.xx.xx fs:good:45 memory:bad:78 swap:good:34 Mail:good Each section is delimited by a : but where lines 0,2,6 have 2 fields... lines 1,3-5 have 3 or more fields. (A big issue I've had trouble with is the time: line, since 20:00:02 is really a time and not 3 separate fields. I have several files like this that I need to parse. There are many more lines in some of these files with multiple fields. ... for i in clients: if os.path.isfile(rpt_path + i + rpt_ext): # if the rpt exists then do this rpt = rpt_path + i + rpt_ext l_count = 0 for line in open(rpt, "r"): s_line = line.rstrip() part = s_line.split(':') print part l_count = l_count + 1 else: # else break break First I'm checking if the file exists first, if it does then open the file and parse it (eventually) As of now I'm just printing the output (print part) to make sure it's parsing right. Honestly, the only trouble I'm having at this point is the time: field. How can I treat that line specifically different than all the others? The time field is ALWAYS the 2nd line in all of my report files.

    I'm parsing sentences like: "CS 2310 or equivalent experience" The desired output: [[("CS", 2310)], ["equivalent experience"]] YACC tokenizer symbols: tokens = [ 'DEPT_CODE', 'COURSE_NUMBER', 'OR_CONJ', 'MISC_TEXT', ] t_DEPT_CODE = r'[A-Z]{2,}' t_COURSE_NUMBER = r'[0-9]{4}' t_OR_CONJ = r'or' t_ignore = ' \t' terms = {'DEPT_CODE': t_DEPT_CODE, 'COURSE_NUMBER': t_COURSE_NUMBER, 'OR_CONJ': t_OR_CONJ} for name, regex in terms.items(): terms[name] = "^%s$" % regex def t_MISC_TEXT(t): r'\S+' for name, regex in terms.items(): # print "trying to match %s with regex %s" % (t.value, regex) if re.match(regex, t.value): t.type = name return t return t (MISC_TEXT is meant to match anything not caught by the other terms.) Some relevant rules from the parser: precedence = ( ('left', 'MISC_TEXT'), ) def p_statement_course_data(p): 'statement : course_data' p[0] = p[1] def p_course_data(p): 'course_data : course' p[0] = p[1] def p_course(p): 'course : DEPT_CODE COURSE_NUMBER' p[0] = make_course(p[1], int(p[2])) def p_or_phrase(p): 'or_phrase : statement OR_CONJ statement' p[0] = [[p[1]], [p[3]]] def p_misc_text(p): '''text_aggregate : MISC_TEXT MISC_TEXT | MISC_TEXT text_aggregate | text_aggregate MISC_TEXT ''' p[0] = "%s %s" % (p[0], [1]) def p_text_aggregate_statement(p): 'statement : text_aggregate' p[0] = p[1] Unfortunately, this fails: # works as it should >>> token_list("CS 2110 or equivalent experience") [LexToken(DEPT_CODE,'CS',1,0), LexToken(COURSE_NUMBER,'2110',1,3), LexToken(OR_CONJ,'or',1,8), LexToken(MISC_TEXT,'equivalent',1,11), LexToken(MISC_TEXT,'experience',1,22)] # fails. bummer. >>> parser.parse("CS 2110 or equivalent experience") Syntax error in input: LexToken(MISC_TEXT,'equivalent',1,11) What am I doing wrong? I don't fully understand how to set precedence rules. Also, this is my error function: def p_error(p): print "Syntax error in input: %s" % p Is there a way to see which rule the parser was trying when it failed? Or some other way to make the parser print which rules its trying?

  • php array problem ..need expert

    - by user295189
    I have tried this in another post but trying my luck again. My current array that I am making produce a different result than I am wanting. I want to have this kind of out put Row: 0: Column: 1: ID 1 Row: 1: Column: 1: ID 1 Row: 0: Column: 2: ID 2 Row: 1: Column: 2: ID 2 Row: 2: Column: 2: ID 2 Row: 3: Column: 2: ID 2 Row: 0: Column: 3: ID 3 Row: 1: Column: 3: ID 3 As you can see the Rows and columns change based on the ID. So if the ID is same it just go to next row in the same column. However if id is changed it goes to next column and rows start. Currently I my code looks like this for($i=0;$i<count($pv->rawData); $i++) { $relative=0; $relativeTypeID = -1; if ($pv->rawData[$i]->relativeTypeID != $relativeTypeID) { $relativeTypeID = $pv->rawData[$i]->relativeTypeID; $iTypeCount++; } if(!empty($pv->rawData[$i]->description)) { $pv->results[$i][$iTypeCount][0] = $pv->rawData[$i]->description; echo "Row: ".$i.": Column: ".$iTypeCount.": ID".$relativeTypeID." <br>"; } } It gives me the following output Row: 0: Column: 1: ID1 Row: 1: Column: 2: ID1 Row: 2: Column: 3: ID2 Row: 3: Column: 4: ID2 Row: 4: Column: 5: ID2 Row: 5: Column: 6: ID2 Row: 6: Column: 7: ID2 Row: 7: Column: 8: ID2 Row: 8: Column: 9: ID2 Row: 9: Column: 10: ID2 Row: 10: Column: 11: ID2 Row: 11: Column: 12: ID2 Row: 12: Column: 13: ID2 …. …. As you can see the Row and Columns are changing but not with ID number. I appreciate your help Thanks

  • What is the best way to add two strings together?

    - by Pim Jager
    I read somewehere (I thought on codinghorror) that it is bad practice to add strings together as if they are numbers, since like numbers, strings cannot be changed. Thus, adding them together creates a new string. So, I was wondering, what is the best way to add two strings together, when focusing on performance? Which of these four is better, or is there another way which is better? //Note that normally at least one of these two strings is variable $str1 = 'Hello '; $str2 = 'World!'; $output1 = $str1.$str2; //This is said to be bad $str1 = 'Hello '; $output2 = $str1.'World!'; //Also bad $str1 = 'Hello'; $str2 = 'World!'; $output3 = sprintf('%s %s', $str1, $str2); //Good? //This last one is probaply more common as: //$output = sprintf('%s %s', 'Hello', 'World!'); $str1 = 'Hello '; $str2 = '{a}World!'; $output4 = str_replace('{a}', $str1, $str2); Does it even matter?

  • JS best practice for member functions

    - by MickMalone1983
    I'm writing a little mobile games library, and I'm not sure the best practice for declaring member functions of instantiated function objects. For instance, I might create a simple object with one property, and a method to print it: function Foo(id){ this.id = id; this.print = function(){ console.log(this.id); }; }; However, a function which does not need access to 'private' members of the function does not need to be declared in the function at all. I could equally have written: function print(){ console.log(this.id); }; function Foo(id){ this.id = id; this.print = print; }; When the function is invoked through an instance of Foo, the instance becomes the context for this, so the output is the same in either case. I'm not entirely sure how memory is allocated with JS, and I can't find anything that I can understand about something this specific, but it seems to me that with the first example all members of Foo, including the print function, are duplicated each time it is instantiated - but with the second, it just gets a pointer to one, pre-declared function, which would save any more memory having to be allocated as more instances of Foo are created. Am I correct, and if I am, is there any memory/performance benefit to doing this?

  • Looking for PyQt4 embeddable terminal widget

    - by redShadow
    I wrote an application that, among other things, launches some "backend" processes to do some stuff. These subprocesses are very likely to fail or have unexpected behavior since they have to operate in quite hard conditions, so I prefer to give full control over them to the operator. NOTE: I am running these processes using a subprocess module based class instead of QProcess to have some more control functionality over the running process. At the moment, I'm using a QPlainTextEdit widget to which I append standard output/error from the subprocess, plus some buttons to quickly send some common signals (INT, STOP, CONT, KILL, ..), but: In some cases it would be useful to send some input too. Although it could be done with a text input box, I would prefer using something more "professional" Of course, there is no direct way to interpret special control characters, such as color codes, cursor movement, etc.. I had to implement an auto-scroll management of the console, but it is not guaranteed 100% to work nicely (sometimes the scroll locking doesn't work as expected, etc.) So: does anyone know something I could use to accomplish these needs? I found qtermwidget but it seems more oriented on handling a shell process (and the Python bindings seems to let you run /bin/bash only) by itself than communicating with an already existing process I/O.

  • Manipulating existing XDocument (fails)

    - by Daemonfire3002nd
    Hi there, I got the following Code snippet from my Silverlight Application: var messages = from message in XcurrentMsg.Descendants("message") where DateTime.Parse(message.Attribute("timestamp").Value).CompareTo(DateTime.Parse(MessageCache.Last_Cached())) > 0 select new { ip = message.Attribute("ip").Value, timestamp = message.Attribute("timestamp").Value, text = message.Value, }; if (messages == null) throw new SystemException("No new messages recorded. Application tried to access non existing resources!"); foreach (var message in messages) { XElement temporaryElement = new XElement("message", message.text.ToString(), new XAttribute("ip", message.ip.ToString()), new XAttribute("timestamp", message.timestamp.ToString())); XcurrentMsg.Element("root").Element("messages").Add(temporaryElement); AddMessage(BuildMessage(message.ip, message.timestamp, message.text)); msgCount++; } MessageCache.CacheXML(XcurrentMsg); MessageCache.Refresh(); XcurrentMsg is a XDocument fetched from my server containing messages: Structure <root> <messages> <message ip="" timestamp=""> Text </message> </messages> </root> I want to get all "message" newer than the last time I cached the XcurrentMsg. This works fine as long as I cut out the "XElement temporaryElement" and the "XcurrentMsg.Element...." and simply use the currentMsg string as output. But I want to have "new messages" being saved in my XcurrentMsg / Cache. Now if I do not cut this part out, my Application gets awesome crazy. I think it writes infinite elements to the XcurrentMsg without stopping. I can not figure out what's the problem. regards,
