  Hi, Why does the Javascript function call isNaN(123.) return false? Is this a universally acceptable number or will it cause errors downstream? I'm validating whether a value is a valid decimal using isNaN along with split. Are there cross-browser issues with isNaN? Should I use a bespoke implementation? Thanks.

  Hi. Sorry about the vocabulary question, but I'm writing my master thesis and it's a pain to repeat "frameworks that support dynamic class creation" again and again. Is there a term for that? Some clarification: I mean that you can create a class at runtime, i.e., dynamically. For example, .NET supports this with the System.Reflection namespace. Thanks :)

  Hi there, I have a query that looks like this: mysql_query("IF EXISTS(SELECT * FROM predict WHERE uid=$i AND bid=$j) THEN UPDATE predict SET predict_tfidf=$predict_tfidf WHERE uid=$i AND bid=$j ELSE INSERT INTO predict (uid, bid, predict_tfidf) VALUES('$i','$j','$predict_tfidf') END IF")or die(mysql_error()); But it dies and mysql tells me to check the syntax near IF EXISTS(....) Can we not use an IF statement to start a mysql query? Thank you in advance.

  Hi, I guess it has to do something with string being a reference type but I dont get why simply string.Replace("X","Y") does not work? Why I need to do `string A=stringB.Replace("X","Y") I thought it is just a method to be done on specified instance? Thanks for explanation EDIT: Thank you so far.
