  • Permissions problems with Apache / SVN

    - by Fred Wuerges
I am installed a SVN server (v1.6) on a VPS contracted with CentOS 5, Apache 2.2 with WHM panel. I installed and configured all necessary modules and am able to create and access repositories via my web browser normally. The problem: I can not commit or import anything, always return permission errors: First error: Can not open file '/var/www/svn/test/db/txn-current-lock': Permission denied After fix the previous error: Can't open '/var/www/svn/test/db/tempfile.tmp': Permission denied And other... (and happends many others) Can't open file '/var/www/svn/test/db/txn-protorevs/0-1m.rev': Permission denied I've read and executed permissions on numerous tutorials regarding this errors, all without success. I've defined the owner as apache or nobody and different permissions for folders and files. I'm using TortoiseSVN to connect to the server. Some information that may find useful: I'm trying to perform commit through an external HTTP connection, like: svn commit http://example.com/svn/test SELinux is disabled. sestatus returns SELinux status: disabled Running the command to see the active processes of Apache, some processes are left with user/group "nobody". I tried changing the settings of Apache to not run with that user/group, but all my websites stopped working, returning this error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Apache process list: root@vps [/var/www]# ps aux | egrep '(apache|httpd)' root 19904 0.0 4.4 133972 35056 ? • how to notify a program of another program? dll? directory? path?

    - by Brady Trainor
I am trying to experiment with GNUS email in Emacs, in Windows (EDIT: x64 bit). I've got it to work in Ubuntu, but struggling with it in Windows. From http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_mono/emacs-gnutls.html#Help-For-Users I read in second paragraph: This is a little bit trickier on the W32 (Windows) platform, but if you have the GnuTLS DLLs (available from http://sourceforge.net/projects/ezwinports/files/ thanks to Eli Zaretskii) in the same directory as Emacs, you should be OK. I have downloaded and unzipped the gnutls-3.0.9-w32-bin package, but am not sure what to do with it. I have tried putting it in Program Files (x86), which is "the same directory as Emacs". I have tried putting it in the emacs-24.3 folder. I consider merging all the folders in between the two, but am hesitant as that seems a difficult troubleshoot attempt compared to my knowledge on these matters. I think Emacs needs to somehow see the gnutls binaries and/or dlls. My knowledge is limited on this. I've also struggled to understand PATHs for sometime now, and am not sure if that approach is relevant here. FYI, the emacs directory contains folders labeled bin, etc, info, leim, lisp and site-lisp. The gnutls directory contains folder labeled bin, include, lib and share. Hmm, now I'm finding lots of links on adding paths. Still, I'm skeptical that I would only add gnutls.exe path, as it seems the dlls are needed. Some additional data for Ramhound's first comment I have been attempting the (require 'gnutls) route. This seems to be the most relevant parts in the log: Opening connection to imap.gmail.com via tls... gnutls.c: [1] (Emacs) GnuTLS library not found Opening TLS connection to `imap.gmail.com'... Opening TLS connection with `gnutls-cli --insecure -p 993 imap.gmail.com'...failed Opening TLS connection with `gnutls-cli --insecure -p 993 imap.gmail.com --protocols ssl3'...failed Opening TLS connection with `openssl s_client -connect imap.gmail.com:993 -no_ssl2 -ign_eof'...failed Opening TLS connection to `imap.gmail.com'...failed I am not sure what "in stallion" means. Emacs seems to have installed itself in program files (x86), so I assume it is 32 bit. I can try and figure out how to double check, but did not realize I would get such fast response time, and am headed out right now. I will try merging the files later tonight?

  • SUBST for OSX? Error when trying to map local folder as network drive on Mac OSX 10.9

    - by Taylor Wright
I would like to map a local folder as a drive (similar to Window's SUBST). One solution I found was to map a shared folder, but I get the following error when using a local folder: There was a problem connecting to the server “MyDrive.local”. This file server is available on your computer. Access the volumes and files locally. I was using this guide: Mapping Drives (Shared Folders) on Mac OS X

I am on a Mac and there must be a way to accomplish this via terminal by either SSH'ing into the server. What credentials would I need to ssh into the server and delete the files/folders owned by apache Screen shot will show you what I mean when the file is owned by the apache user/group: http://cl.ly/e2192e6aadc8e4688c33 Any help is appreciated.

  • Sensitive data deletion (remote)

    - by José Antonio Silva
Hi, I'm just finished my Amazon EC2 migration and I want to delete all the files (databases, source code) from the old servers. The problem is that the servers are in California and my business is in Chile, soo I only have ssh access to that servers. I'm planning to sell the servers and I'm wondering if there is a way to perform a low levele deletion remotely of the specific files and folders. Thanks in advance! José Antonio

  • Browsing mapped network drives in Aptana Studio - Windows 7

    - by Marco
I've recently started using Windows 7 (64-bit) at work, but after installing Aptana like usual, and mapping my network folders like I always have, Aptana shows the mapped drives, but with a red X on the drive icon. Using the native windows explorer I can browse the drives fine, and I don't need to login. If it matters the mapped drives are hosted on both Windows and Linux servers. Any ideas on what to do? My googling is drawing blanks.

  • How do I fix the broken Windows 7 Search feature?

    - by jasonh
I'm trying to search my Windows Home Server for .DS_Store files that my Mac littered the server with. Windows 7 reports there are no *.DS_Store files in a folder, even though I can see it with the Show hidden files and folders option turned on. What can I do to track all these files down on my server and wipe them out?

  • Debugging Windows 2008 (Roaming Profile) user logon

    - by Jeroen Wilke
I would appreciate some help debugging my windows 2008 profile service. Any domain account that logs on to my 2008 machine gets a +- 20 second waiting time on "user profile service" I am using roaming profiles, they are around 8mb in size, and most folders are already redirected to a network share. event log registers no errors, there is more than 1 network card installed, but I have the correct card listed as "primary" Is there any way to increase verbosity of logging on specifically the "user profile service" ? Regards Jeroen

  • Flex puts _docs_ folder into the bin. Can that be stopped?

    - by picardo
I started using Flex Builder 3 only recently. There is a behavior I want to change. Flex apparently looks for folders that have underscore in front of their names inside the libraries on the project path, and transfers them to the bin directory. This often results in several megabytes of junk in my bin, and I want to change this behavior. Does anyone know how to do that?

  • Problem with Quotas and File Screening on Mount Points in Windows 2008

    - by James P
Hello, I have a Windows 2008 Server running the File Server Role and I would like to use mount points for my volumes instead of drive letters. However, I need to use the quota and file screening features of File Server Resource Manager, and it seems that they do not apply correctly to mount point folders. I am able to upload oversized files and excluded file types without any warnings. Could someone help me with a fix or workaround for this issue? Thanks, Jamie

  • Uninstaller that can work with failed installs

    - by Nifle
I'd like an application that can uninstall applications that does not show up in the normal add/remove applications. I have an application that failed to install properly. It installs half way and then crashes leaving short cuts, folders with exe and config files in and some stuff in the registry. Ideally I would like to be able to point the uninstaller to the install dir and tell it to remove everything that references files in that dir.
