  • Is there any good Corporate Instant Messenger?

    - by Junior Mayhé
Hi Guys I asked Skype team if they have a corporate instant messenger, but they didn't give me a straight answer. My company wants employees to send message and files to each other, just like Skype or Windows Live Messenger. The bottom line here is: they don't want people to contact internet users. Only employees would be possible contacts. Is there any product like this? I think would be necessary a corporate server for this solution?

  • Simple, free Mac OS X paint program with transparency

    - by Margret
What FREE software (included with Mac OS X, or public domain) would be a good, simple way to take some existing PNG clipart files and do some simple editing? I really only need to do 3 things: Rotate the image. Clip the image. Set a "transparent" color. I don't need anything that takes weeks to learn or is super-powerful or super expensive.

  • Celery - minimize memory consuption

    - by Andrew
We have ~300 celeryd processes running under Ubuntu 10.4 64-bit , in idle every process takes ~19mb RES, ~174mb VIRT, thus - it's around 6GB of RAM in idle for all processes. In active state - process takes up to 100mb of RES and ~300mb VIRT Every process uses minidom(xml files are < 500kb, simple structure) and urllib. Quetions is - how can we decrease RAM consuption - at least for idle workers, probably some celery or python options may help? How to determine which part takes most of memory?

  • Ubuntu says FAT16, windows says NTF?

    - by myforwik
I created a partition on USB harddisk in windows and it reports to be an NTFS partition. Yet in ubuntu 9.10 fdisk says it a FAT16 partition. If I mount with -t ntfs I see nothing, but if I mount without it I see all the files. Can anyone tell me whats going on here? Windows computer disk management definately says its NTFS, and a quick look at the raw data suggests it is NTFS, as I know the FAT16 very well.

    - by LoopyWolf
Possible Duplicate: How can I merge two mp4 files without losing quality? I hunted all over the web but found nothing - I'm trying to compile a bunch of MP4s into a single video file. VirtualDub won't touch it.. and ultra-vibe no longer exists and the other "freeware mp4 combiners" all didn't work or were hobbled. Does anyone know a way?

  • Issues with configuration of Apache and mod_auth_sspi

    - by TekiusFanatikus
I've been able to get this working using XAMP with Apache 2.0.55 and XAMP Apache 2.2.14 without any problems. However, when I attempt to configure our intranet server (Apache 2.0.59), I don't get the same results. The results are that the following variables contain the information desired: $_SERVER["REMOTE_USER"] AND $_SERVER["PHP_AUTH_USER"]. In this case, they are blank. I'm expecting "domain/user_name". Conf file stuff: <Directory "/xxx/xampp/htdocs/"> # # Possible values for the Options directive are "None", "All", # or any combination of: # Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks SymLinksifOwnerMatch ExecCGI MultiViews # # Note that "MultiViews" must be named *explicitly* --- "Options All" # doesn't give it to you. # # The Options directive is both complicated and important. Please see # http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/core.html#options # for more information. # #Options Indexes FollowSymLinks Includes ExecCGI Options Indexes FollowSymLinks # # AllowOverride controls what directives may be placed in .htaccess files. # It can be "All", "None", or any combination of the keywords: # Options FileInfo AuthConfig Limit # #AllowOverride All AllowOverride None # # Controls who can get stuff from this server. # #Order allow, deny #Allow from all Order allow, deny Allow from all #NT Domain Login AuthName "Intranet" AuthType SSPI SSPIAuth On SSPIAuthoritative On SSPIDomain "xxxx" SSPIOfferBasic Off SSPIPerRequestAuth On SSPIOmitDomain Off # keep domain name in userid string SSPIUsernameCase lower Require valid-user </Directory> I would like to note that I've modified the paths to reflect the intranet environment. I'm using the following module: http://sourceforge.net/projects/mod-auth-sspi/ Once the module is installed and the conf file is modified, the intranet environment's server scope isn't populated with the expected variables. Edit #1 <Directory "/path_here"> # # Possible values for the Options directive are "None", "All", # or any combination of: # Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks SymLinksifOwnerMatch ExecCGI MultiViews # # Note that "MultiViews" must be named *explicitly* --- "Options All" # doesn't give it to you. # # The Options directive is both complicated and important. • Is there a way to obtain the raw image from a Norton Ghost file ?

    - by amo-ej1
I have a Norton Ghost .gho file, and basicly I want to extract the raw image out of this, for example to use with with tools like dd. (So using any symantec/windows tools is not an option). Is there any open source tool which can deal with these .gho files ? (Note: the.gho file I'm using is a sector based one, and not a file-based one, which implies that things such as Ghost explorer won't work either (see this page)

  • Using photos from network drive with Windows 8 photo app

    - by Paul
I have photos on my network drive that I want to display (in live tiles preferably in the photo app). Under c:\users\paul\pictures I have made a link to them, using mklink /d: And this works fine in classic: But nothing appears in the photo.app: I am guessing that this is an issue with indexing - the photos won't appear until they are indexed, and Windows won't normally index a network drive (unless you make it "available offline, which just copies the files locally) - but this is exactly what the mklink was supposed to work around, and the properties show it is indexable: Any ideas?

  • SSD has 32-bit Win 7 Ult.; partition now both unformattable and undeletable.

    - by user33666
Drive 0, Partition 1 can't be deleted or formatted, at least by using the HD drive bay and attempting a delete or format with the 32-bit Win 7 CD. Most of my data is still on it and available for read/write (where the drive isn't occasionally pocked with "unrecoverable" or "corrupted" files). I've just never heard of a condition where the HD cannot be formattable. I now just have a very expensive backup drive that's got Swiss cheesed areas. The thing doesn't accept a Windows 7 repair or reinstall either.

  • What does the directory-name: '~MntWIM' on my Windows 7 / C:\ drive mean?

    - by J Puk
This '~MntWIM' on my Windows 7 / C:\ drive, is sized: 694 MB (728.418.589 bytes) on harddrive. It contains 3 subdirectories. 1st = Program Files, containg zero volume 2nd = Users, containing zero volume 3rd = Windows, containing 693 MB (726.823.197 bytes) on harddrive It all looks a bit useless to me, so question is: Is it safe to delete the lot? Or does it have an important function there? Hoping for an answer from which I could lern something. B.R. JP

  • User not able to change permissions on folder in network share for Windows Server 2003

    - by Ishmael
I have a user that has rights to change permissions within a certain folder on a Windows Server 2003 network share. Although I grant this person the rights to change permission and ownership this person cannot change any permissions. The network share is also set to allow everyone full control. (I understand it is bad practice yet this is how it was first configured) Is there any reason why this domain user cannot modify permissions on the folder and files they create?

  • Shorewall: temporarily drop incoming traffic except port 22?

    - by Magnetic_dud
When I work on configuration files, especially of the mail server, I would like to temporarily drop all the incoming traffic except the port 22. So, I don't risk to lose incoming mails if I need to move the mail server to another server, or something like that. Using shorewall, how I could do that? I was thinking to create a rules file to divert all the traffic to a non-existant internal ip and switch it with the normal file when needed.

Kindle doesn't zoom in a PDF document, so I'd like to know if there is a way to enlarge the file myself before it being displayed on the kindle screen. I've tried to convert some PDF files to the .azw kindle format, but the images weren't converted. So I have to find another way.

  • How to replicate wwwroot over multiple IIS web servers with NLB without NAS?

    - by Igor K
We're adding a second server with Windows NLB for a bit of redundancy (ie the power goes on one of the servers - I know its not the best solution). How can we keep the data identical between the servers? Dont want to use a SAN or NAS as thats just something else to go wrong. Customers can upload images with the web app so changes could be made on either server, as well as us uploaded a few changed files. Thanks

  • Color Schemes don't look right in CLI vim

    - by person
I was having a bit of trouble reading the dark red strings of Vim's default color scheme, so I decided to switch to a different one. http://code.google.com/p/vimcolorsch...kboard.vim?r=2 http://files.werx.dk/wombat.vim However, when I set my color schemes to these, not only do they not come out correctly (for example, comments are bright blue), but these 2 somehow come out looking exactly the same! Am I doing something wrong, or are these colors restricted in the terminal so default colors are being chosen?

  • zsh: Do NOT expand wildcard on tab completion

    - by BMorgenthaler
I'm wondering how I can configure ZSH to NOT expand the wildcard in a filename. So for example I have a directory of a couple hundred files named like so: a.foo-bar a.foo b.foo-bar b.foo c.foo-bar c.foo I would like to be able to perform a tab completion matching AFTER a wildcard, so cat *.foo-< tab = cat *.foo-bar instead what I get is cat *.foo-< tab = cat a.foo-bar file a.foo-bar b.foo-bar c.foo-bar

  • Windows: View "all" permissions of a specific user or group

    - by peterchen
For a Windows domain, is there a way to see for a certain user or group, where the user/group has permissions? Primarily: List which files / folders the user can access on a certain network share. (Kind of a recursive "effective permissions") However, other permissions would be cool as well. I believe I've seen such a tool in action, but I can't remember anything beyond that - so this might be a false memory. Recommendations?
