I have an asp.net2.0 application with a treeview control for navigation on my site. the application works fine with development server but when i deploy my site on IIS 5.0, the links stop working after the first click on any link.
What are pros and cons of this technique (see Softfolio for an example). Two things I personally thought of are as follows:
Impossible to tell someone where an item of interest is located (like, you probably won't say "324-th row, second column")
Broken navigation when you return back to an infinitely scrolled page.
What else can you think of? And what do you personally think of this approach in general. Would you use this in you projects?
Does anyone know a complete JSF 2.0 sample or open source application using JSF 2.0 features (Facelets, Composite Component, Templates, Ajax, Navigation, etc.). Would be a good reference to learn some best practices. I'm talking about an application that you would also use in production. The only ones I know are ScrumToys and PetCatalog which are delivered with NetBeans 6.9 and are "tutorial-like" applications.
Hello,
first of all: I'm new to Asp.Net MasterPages and jQuery.
I have a Asp.Net Project with one MasterPage. I have used this menu for navigation. Its in the header ofer the MasterPage. Is it possible with Ajax to change the Content-Page from this menu without having the whole MasterPage reloaded(inclooding the Menu)?
I need to determine if I'm on a particular view. My use case is that I'd like to decorate navigation elements with an "on" class for the current view. Is there a built in way of doing this?
I'm working with Twitter Bootstrap and the regular navbar you see in the guides: http://twitter.github.io/bootstrap/components.html#navbar
I don't want the navigation to stretch all the way left or right but stay where I can see both sides just like in the guide. The only difference is it would be fixed to the top.
I was wondering, how do I make this become a fixed navbar as if I was using the navbar-fixed-top class?
I am using VS 2010 and SL 4.And I came up with strange behaviour of the listbox that it don't have keyboard navigation(the one which is present in wpf :( ).So is there a way or any idea or suggestion how can i do it.. I know the long way thats shown up here ,

I would like to add dropdowns to the top navigation on a magento site, would this involve a plugin or is there built in functunality that could potentially do this already?

What's the purpose of having the Simulated User Interface elements, i.e. the top and bottom toolbars? Is this to allow you to design with the space accounted for but the actual toolbars would be provided by the Navigation Controller?
this is what im trying to do...
ul#newnav a{ /*--This is basically the hover state of navigation--*/
color: #555;
background: url(images/a_bg.gif) repeat-x left bottom;}
ul#newnav a{ background: url(images/navpic.png) no-repeat top left;}
and of course its only loading the last one but is it anyway I can load both.
Hi,
I have been asked to create a wheel for navigation similar to on the Visit Provence website. However, I don't know where to start and my Googling effort have been unsuccessful - I guess that I am searching using the wrong terms.
It the the way that the wheel moves and interacts with the other segments around it that interests me.
I'd really appreciate any tutorials / help that anyone can share.
hey there,
in my google analytics account there is a page tracked usually opened as a javascript window.open() pop-up (same domain as referring page).
unfortunately, g.a. categorizes the pop-up page as entrance, although it is just a step in the whole navigation flow.
how can i avoid this?
thanks for your help!
I am writing a help page with sections - What I want to do is allow navigation to a particular section (depending on what page they clicked help from) rather always landing at the top of the page.
My web app is written in ASP.NET, Can anyone point me in the direction of how to set this up?
Thanks!
anyone know of a site that explains how wordpress created its appearances in wordpress (on the backend) i like how the navigation was created and i am trying to drill down to see what makes it tick but its a heck of a mess of code. has anyone launched anything online that you know of explaining how these peices were made? maybe something cleaner.
thnx
I am new to Xcode (using 4.3) and am not sure how to save an image to the device's camera roll. All that I have done so far is an IBAction for the button to save the image (the button resides in the top right of the navigation bar. This tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSdwjQUXA2Y) is EXACTLY what I would like to be able to do but the code is too blurry to read properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am interested in the following features: Code highlighting, Intellisense, Refactorings, Code navigation (Go to Definition etc.).
If this functionality is missing from Visual Studio 2010 maybe Microsoft is planning to add these features in the future or there are community project to develop IronRuby tooling add-in?
I am learning Entity framework and linq-to-entities.
It's possible to get cross values from multiple tables using JOINS (join keyword) or using the navigation fields ( associations) in which case the framework knows how to reference the cross data.
My question is what to use when?
Hi

I am developing a template for bigcommerce site, where i want to show category list and some hard code links in the place of Page menu. Now what i do, just place this %%Panel.SideCategoryList%% in the upper navigation area. Which shows category list right.
But the problem is that i didn't find this %%SNIPPET_SideCategoryList%% file. (In snippets folder exist a file with this name, but that file doesn't work even if i remove all contents of that file.)
This is a pretty noobish question – I'm looking at some Cocoa sample code and there's @interface blocks in the .m files as well as the headers. For instance, in the AppDelegate class header, a UIWindow and UI navigation are defined as instance variables, but the @property declarations are actually made in the implementation file. Is there a functional reason for this, is it a stylistic choice, or… ?
