• Using Google Spreadsheet API on Blackberry

    - by Dev
    I am trying to build a Google spreadsheet synchronization feature on a blackberry application that I am building. Not being a pro I was hunting for some sample code to get a grasp of the flow but I could not. When I am using the API from Google to access spreadsheets, it suggests to use the SpreadsheetService class. try{ SpreadsheetService service = new SpreadsheetService ("MRythm"); service.setUserCredentials("username", "password"); service.getFeed(new URL(""), arg1) }catch(Exception e){ } Now the problem is J2ME or Blackberry does not feature the URL class from java.net library. I am just looking for a sample approach to connect to a Google spreadsheet from Blackberry. Thanks in advance

  • Drawing lines between views in a TableLayout

    - by RiThBo
    Firstly - sorry if you saw my other question which I deleted. My question was flawed. Here is a better version If I have two views, how do I draw a (straight) line between them when one of them is touched? The line needs to be dynamic so it can follow the finger until it reaches the second view where it "locks on". So, when view1 is touched a straight line is drawn which then follows the finger until it reaches view2. I created a LineView class that extends view, but I don't how to proceed. I read some tutorials but none show how to do this. I think I need to get the coordinates of both view, and then create a path which "updates" on MotionEvent. I can get the coordinates and the ids of the views I want to draw a line between, but the line that I try to draw between them either goes above it, or the line does not reach past the width and height of the view. Any advice/code/clarity would be much appreciated! Here is some code: My layout. I want to draw a line between two views contained in theTableLayout.# <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/activity_game_relative_layout" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:orientation="vertical" > <TableLayout android:layout_marginTop="35dp" android:layout_marginBottom="35dp" android:id="@+id/tableLayout1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_centerInParent="true" > <TableRow android:id="@+id/table_row_1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="5dip" > <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_2" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_3" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> </TableRow> <TableRow android:id="@+id/table_row_2" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="5dip" > <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_7" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_8" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.dotte.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_9" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> </TableRow> </TableLayout> </RelativeLayout> This is my LineView class. I use this to try and draw the actual line between the points. public class LineView extends View { Paint paint = new Paint(); float startingX, startingY, endingX, endingY; public LineView(Context context) { super(context); // TODO Auto-generated constructor stub paint.setColor(Color.BLACK); paint.setStrokeWidth(10); } public void setPoints(float startX, float startY, float endX, float endY) { startingX = startX; startingY = startY; endingX = endX; endingY = endY; invalidate(); } @Override public void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { canvas.drawLine(startingX, startingY, endingX, endingY, paint); } } And this is my Activity. public class Game extends Activity { DotView dv1, dv2, dv3, dv4, dv5, dv6, dv7; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_game); getWindow().getDecorView().setSystemUiVisibility( View.SYSTEM_UI_FLAG_LOW_PROFILE); findDotIds(); RelativeLayout rl = (RelativeLayout) findViewById(R.id.activity_game_relative_layout); LineView lv = new LineView(this); lv.setPoints(dv1.getLeft(), dv1.getTop(), dv7.getLeft(), dv7.getTop()); rl.addView(lv); // TODO: Get the coordinates of all the dots in the TableLayout. Use view tree observer. } private void findDotIds() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub dv1 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_1); dv2 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_2); dv3 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_3); dv4 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_4); dv5 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_5); dv6 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_6); dv7 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_7); } } The views I want to draw lines between are in the TableLayout.

  • Ruby Programming Techniques: simple yet not so simple object manipulation

    - by Shyam
    Hi, I want to create an object, let's say a Pie. class Pie def initialize(name, flavor) @name = name @flavor = flavor end end But a Pie can be divided in 8 pieces, a half or just a whole Pie. For the sake of argument, I would like to know how I could give each Pie object a price per 1/8, 1/4 or per whole. I could do this by doing: class Pie def initialize(name, flavor, price_all, price_half, price_piece) @name = name @flavor = flavor @price_all = price_all @price_half = price_half @price_piece = price_piece end end But now, if I would create fifteen Pie objects, and I would take out randomly some pieces somewhere by using a method such as getPieceOfPie(pie_name) How would I be able to generate the value of all the available pies that are whole and the remaining pieces? Eventually using a method such as: myCurrentInventoryHas(pie_name) # output: 2 whole strawberry pies and 7 pieces. I know, I am a Ruby nuby. Thank you for your answers, comments and help!

  • Multiple Schedule/Task Views (devs, customer, etc) in MS Project (or other)

    - by ThePlatypus
    Is there a way to configure multiple views/filters in MS Project for the same set of tasks? I want to have a view that is configured for customer's only, for example. So, it would have large milestone tasks only, and hide all of the details that are there for the benefit of the team members. If MS Project doesn't do this, is there any project management software that does? A free/open source version would be preferable. Edit: Apparently, "filter" was the word I needed in my Google searches. I found how to mark a task as a Milestone and use the pre-made Milestone filter. However, that still doesn't hide non-Milestone tasks the way I want it to. I haven't figured out how to make a true custom filter.

  • What's the likely culprit in email delay?

    - by Kiki
    If anyone can shed light or point me to a tutorial, I'd appreciate it. We are a tiny company and have experienced occasional delays in receiving email sent between staff members. We are in separate cities but all in the same state; our webhost/email ISP is across the country from us. If it matters, we're on Macs and most of use Entourage. Our email configurations are POP server: companyname.com and SMTP: smtp.companyname.com (When we used our DSL providers for SMTP we had unreliable service) Our ISP says they're not seeing delays related to their equipment and the problem is elsewhere in the network. A co-worker believes that the delays are with the ISP. Is there a good way to figure this out?

  • How to download images in playframework jobs?

    - by MrROY
    I have a playframework Job class like this: public class ImageDownloader extends Job { private String[] urls; private String dir; public ImageDownloader(){} public ImageDownloader(String[] urls,String dir){ this.urls = urls; this.dir = dir; } @Override public void doJob() throws Exception { if(urls!=null && urls.length > 0){ for (int i = 0; i < urls.length; i++) { String url = urls[i]; //Dowloading } } } } Play(1.2.4) has lots of amazing tools to make things easy. So i wonder whether there's a way to make the downloading easy and beautiful in play ?

  • mongoexport csv output array values

    - by 9point6
    I'm using mongoexport to export some collections into CSV files, however when I try to target fields which are members of an array I cannot get it to export correctly. command I'm using: mongoexport -d db -c collection -fieldFile fields.txt --csv > out.csv and the contents of fields.txt is similar to id name address[0].line1 address[0].line2 address[0].city address[0].country address[0].postcode where the BSON data would be:
[ { "line1": "flat 123", "line2": "123 Fake St.
} ] } what is the correct syntax for exporting the contents of an array?

  • Dotted Border turns to solid if object is animated with jQuery.

    - by Serg Chernata
    I have a simple setup: an image and then a paragraph with a bit of info that is hidden and then slides up over the image on mouse hover. If I try to apply a border-top that is dashed or dotted onto the paragraph it simply turns into a solid line. Is this a known issue with a fix? I even tried adding the dotted border through jQuery and it still comes out as a solid line.

This is a short description with a bit of text.

.wrap .info { width:204px; height:50px; background:url(images/infobg.jpg) repeat-x #8d9c0c; color:#f7f5ef; padding:3px; position:absolute; top:142px; left:0; border-top:3px dotted #8d9c0c; } $(document).ready(function(){ $("p.info").css("border-top","3px dotted #8d9c0c"); $(function(){ bindTypeOne(); $("input[type=radio]").click(function(){ if ($(this).attr("rel") == "type1"){ bindTypeOne(); } else if ($(this).attr("rel") == "type2"){ bindTypeTwo(); } }); }); function bindTypeOne() { $("div.wrap").hover(function(){ $(this).children("p.info").stop(); $(this).children(".front").stop().animate(
141px"}, 400); },function(){ $(this).children("p.info").stop(); $(this).children(".front").stop().animate(
0"}, 700); }); }; function bindTypeTwo() { $("div.wrap").hover(function(){ $(this).children(".front").stop(); $(this).children("p.info").stop().animate(
80px
3px dotted #8d9c0c"}, 400); },function(){ $(this).children(".front").stop(); $(this).children("p.info").stop().animate(
142px"}, 700); }); }; });

  • Reorganizing many to many relationships in Django

    - by Galen
    I have a many to many relationship in my models and i'm trying to reorganize it on one of my pages. My site has videos. On each video's page i'm trying to list the actors that are in that video with links to each time they are in the video(the links will skip to that part of the video) Here's an illustration Flash Video embedded here Actors... Ted smith: 1:25, 5:30 jon jones: 5:00, 2:00 Here are the pertinent parts of my models class Video(models.Model): actor = models.ManyToManyField( Actor, through='Actor_Video' ) # more stuff removed class Actor_Video(models.Model): actor = models.ForeignKey( Actor ) video = models.ForeignKey( Video) time = models.IntegerField() Here's what my Actor_Video table looks like, maybe it will be easier to see what im doing id actor_id video_id time (in seconds) 1 1 3 34 2 1 3 90 i feel like i have to reorganize the info in my view, but i cant figure it out. It doesn't seem to be possible in the template using djangos orm. I've tried a couple things with creating dictionaries/lists but i've had no luck. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • Automapper: Ignore on condition of

    - by Kieranmaine
    Is it possible to ignore mapping a member depending on the value of a source property? For example if we have: public class Car { public int Id { get; set; } public string Code { get; set; } } public class CarViewModel { public int Id { get; set; } public string Code { get; set; } } I'm looking for something like Mapper.CreateMap<CarViewModel, Car>() .ForMember(dest => dest.Code, opt => opt.Ignore().If(source => source.Id == 0)) So far the only solution I have is too use two different view model and create different mappings for each one.

  • Authorizing sections of a view in MVC

    - by Duk
    I was wondering if it's possible to authorize parts of a view inside the view. For example, I understand how to authorize the entire controller in this method <HandleError()> _ Public Class HomeController Inherits System.Web.Mvc.Controller Function Index() Return View() End Function <Authorize(Roles:="Administrators")> _ Function AdministratorSecrets() Return View() End Function End Class But what Id like to do is have it so if the admin is logged in, they can see additional links in my navigation. Something along the lines of

<%= Html.ActionLink("Home", "Index", "Home")%>

<%= Html.ActionLink("About", "About", "Home")%>
<Authorize(Roles:="Administrators")> _
<%= Html.ActionLink("Admin", "Admin", "Home")%>

Obviously that won't work, but it gives an idea of what I'm trying to accomplish. Any ideas?

  • Proper way in Python to raise errors while setting variables

    - by ensnare
    What is the proper way to do error-checking in a class? Raising exceptions? Setting an instance variable dictionary "errors" that contains all the errors and returning it? Is it bad to print errors from a class? Do I have to return False if I'm raising an exception? Just want to make sure that I'm doing things right. Below is some sample code: @property def password(self): return self._password @password.setter def password(self,password): # Check that password has been completed try: # Check that password has a length of 6 characters if (len(password) < 6): raise NameError('Your password must be greater \ than 6 characters') except NameError: print 'Please choose a password' return False except TypeError: print 'Please choose a password' return False #Set the password self._password = password #Encrypt the password password_md5 = md5.new() password_md5.update(password) self._password_md5 = password_md5.hexdigest()

  • How do I store an array of a particular type into my settings file?

    - by joebeazelman
    For some reason, I can't seem to store an array of my class into the settings. Here's the code: var newLink = new Link(); Properties.Settings.Default.Links = new ArrayList(); Properties.Settings.Default.Links.Add(newLink); Properties.Settings.Default.Save(); In my Settings.Designer.cs I specified the field to be an array list: [global::System.Configuration.UserScopedSettingAttribute()] [global::System.Diagnostics.DebuggerNonUserCodeAttribute()] public global::System.Collections.ArrayList Links { get { return ((global::System.Collections.ArrayList)(this["Links"])); } set { this["Links"] = value; } } For some reason, it won't save any of the data even though the Link class is serializable and I've tested it.

  • "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ejb.EJBObject" when running JAR

    - by Bernhard V
    Hi, I'm getting a "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ejb.EJBObject" error when I'm running my application as a JAR file. When running it in Eclipse everything is working fine. The application properly access the main class and the main method. But when it tries to load the application context it cannot resolve a reference to an EJB bean. I then get the following error: Error creating bean with name 'bc' defined in class path resource [blabla.xml]: Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/ejb/EJBObject at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.BeanDefinitionValueResolver .resolveReference(BeanDefinitionValueResolver.java:275) ... Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ejb.EJBObject I've included all runtime-scoped dependencies with Maven in the JAR file. Do you know any further information regarding this error?

  • Jboss AS 7 - Dependency Injection

    Im attempting to make use of dependency injection in Jboss AS 7 and im having huge difficulties. I have setup a EAR which contains both a EJB jar and a war. • What is the equivalent of Struts ActionMessages in Spring MVC?

    - by Umar
    Please let me know if you have any idea about it. Thanks EDIT What ActionMessages is? ActionMessages is basically a class that holds messages that you want to display on a JSP page. Messages can be added in ActionMessages in an Action(controller) class. On the JSP, the position where the messages are intended to be displayed, is marked by <html:messages/> tag. Hence, all your messages are rendered automatically on that specific position. These messages are usually feedback texts that need to appear after some user actions. For example, if the user creates a new record, a feedback message could be "Record created successfully!".

  • Best approch for creating Base control

    - by akjoshi
    Hi, I am looking for a solution for this scenario - I need to implement a feature to allow user to add various controls to canvas(WPF, custom and third party ) and then select any one of them and modify some properties in property grid(changes needs to be reflected in UI). I don't want to expose all the properties of any control only some of them(relevant to end user); apart from this there are some properties which will be common for all controls e.g. Title, Value(Value will be bound to some property of a control, say Text of TextBox and Content of Label) etc. I am thinking of putting all the common proeprties at one place. Things I am confused aout - How to create such base class, whether to use UserControl or Custom Control for this? How will the binding work between Control, base class proeprties and PropertyGrid? What type of object will I expose to property grid? Any idea on what approch should be followed in this case, any kind of input will really be helpful.

  • Loading a ConfigurationSection with a required child ConfigurationElement with .Net configuration fr

    - by Vadim Rybak
    I have a console application that is trying to load a CustomConfigurationSection from a web.config file. The custom configuration section has a custom configuration element that is required. This means that when I load the config section, I expect to see an exception if that config element is not present in the config. The problem is that the .NET framework seems to be completely ignoring the isRequired attribute. So when I load the config section, I just creates an instance of the custom configuration element and sets it on the config section. My question is, why is this happening? I want the GetSection() method to fire a ConfigurationErrors exception since a required element is missing from the configuration. Here is how my config section looks. public class MyConfigSection : ConfigurationSection { [ConfigurationProperty("MyConfigElement", IsRequired = true)] public MyConfigElement MyElement { get { return (MyConfigElement) this["MyConfigElement"]; } } } public class MyConfigElement : ConfigurationElement { [ConfigurationProperty("MyAttribute", IsRequired = true)] public string MyAttribute { get { return this["MyAttribute"].ToString(); } } } Here is how I load the config section. class Program { public static Configuration OpenConfigFile(string configPath) { var configFile = new FileInfo(configPath); var vdm = new VirtualDirectoryMapping(configFile.DirectoryName, true, configFile.Name); var wcfm = new WebConfigurationFileMap(); wcfm.VirtualDirectories.Add("/", vdm); return WebConfigurationManager.OpenMappedWebConfiguration(wcfm, "/"); } static void Main(string[] args) { try{ string path = @"C:\Users\vrybak\Desktop\Web.config"; var configManager = OpenConfigFile(path); var configSection = configManager.GetSection("MyConfigSection") as MyConfigSection; MyConfigElement elem = configSection.MyElement; } catch (ConfigurationErrorsException ex){ Console.WriteLine(ex.ToString()); } } Here is what my config file looks like. <configuration> <configSections>
</configSections> <MyConfigSection> </MyConfigSection> The wierd part is that if I open the config file and load the section 2 times in a row, I will get the exception that I expect. var configManager = OpenConfigFile(path); var configSection = configManager.GetSection("MyConfigSection") as MyConfigSection; configManager = OpenConfigFile(path); configSection = configManager.GetSection("MyConfigSection") as MyConfigSection; If I use the code above, then the exception will fire and tell me that MyConfigElement is required. The question is Why is it not throwing this exception the first time??

  • A Linker Resolution Problem in a C++ Program

    - by Vlad
    We have two source files, a.cpp and b.cpp and a header file named constructions.h. We define a simple C++ class with the same name (class M, for instance) in each source file, respectively. The file a.cpp looks like this: #include "iostream" #include "constructions.h" class M { int i; public: M(): i( -1 ) { cout << "M() from a.cpp" << endl; } M( int a ) : i( a ) { cout << "M(int) from a.cpp, i: " << i << endl; } M( const M& b ) { i = b.i; cout << "M(M&) from a.cpp, i: " << i << endl; } M& operator = ( M& b ) { i = b.i; cout << "M::operator =(), i: " << i << endl; return *this; } virtual ~M(){ cout << "M::~M() from a.cpp" << endl; } operator int() { cout << "M::operator int() from a.cpp" << endl; return i; } }; void test1() { cout << endl << "Example 1" << endl; M b1; cout << "b1: " << b1 << endl; cout << endl << "Example 2" << endl; M b2 = 5; cout << "b2: " << b2 << endl; cout << endl << "Example 3" << endl; M b3(6); cout << "b3: " << b3 << endl; cout << endl << "Example 4" << endl; M b4 = b1; cout << "b4: " << b4 << endl; cout << endl << "Example 5" << endl; M b5; b5 = b2; cout << "b5: " << b5 << endl; } int main(int argc, char* argv[]) { test1(); test2(); cin.get(); return 0; } The file b.cpp looks like this: #include "iostream" #include "constructions.h" class M { public: M() { cout << "M() from b.cpp" << endl; } ~M() { cout << "M::~M() from b.cpp" << endl; } }; void test2() { M m; } Finally, the file constructions.h contains only the declaration of the function "test2()" (which is defined in "b.cpp"), so that it can be used in
using namespace std; void test2(); We compiled and linked these three files using either VS2005 or the GNU 4.1.0 compiler and the 2.16.91 ld linker under Suse. The results are surprising and different between the two build environments. But in both cases it looks like the linker gets confused about which definition of the class M it should use. If we comment out the definition of test2() from b.cpp and its invocation from a.cpp, then all the C++ objects created in test1() are of the type M defined in a.cpp and the program executes normally under Windows and Suse. Here is the run output under Windows: Example 1 M() from a.cpp M::operator int() from a.cpp b1: -1 Example 2 M(int) from a.cpp, i: 5 M::operator int() from a.cpp b2: 5 Example 3 M(int) from a.cpp, i: 6 M::operator int() from a.cpp b3: 6 Example 4 M(M&) from a.cpp, i: -1 M::operator int() from a.cpp b4: -1 Example 5 M() from a.cpp M::operator =(), i: 5 M::operator int() from a.cpp b5: 5 M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp If we enable the definition of test2() in "b.cpp" but comment out its invocation from main(), then the results are different. Under Suse, the C++ objects created in test1() are still of the type M defined in a.cpp and the program still seems to execute normally. The VS2005 versions behave differently in Debug or Release mode: in Debug mode, the program still seems to execute normally, but in Release mode, b1 and b5 are of the type M defined in b.cpp (as the constructor invocation proves), although the other member functions called (including the destructor), belong to M defined in a.cpp. Here is the run output for the executable built in Release mode: Example 1 M() from b.cpp M::operator int() from a.cpp b1: 4206872 Example 2 M(int) from a.cpp, i: 5 M::operator int() from a.cpp b2: 5 Example 3 M(int) from a.cpp, i: 6 M::operator int() from a.cpp b3: 6 Example 4 M(M&) from a.cpp, i: 4206872 M::operator int() from a.cpp b4: 4206872 Example 5 M() from b.cpp M::operator =(), i: 5 M::operator int() from a.cpp b5: 5 M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp Finally, if we allow the call to test2() from main, the program misbehaves in all circumstances (that is under Suse and under Windows in both Debug and Release modes). The Windows-Debug version finds a memory corruption around the variable m, defined in test2(). Here is the Windows output in Release mode (test2() seems to have created an instance of M defined in b.cpp): Example 1 M() from b.cpp M::operator int() from a.cpp b1: 4206872 Example 2 M(int) from a.cpp, i: 5 M::operator int() from a.cpp b2: 5 Example 3 M(int) from a.cpp, i: 6 M::operator int() from a.cpp b3: 6 Example 4 M(M&) from a.cpp, i: 4206872 M::operator int() from a.cpp b4: 4206872 Example 5 M() from b.cpp M::operator =(), i: 5 M::operator int() from a.cpp b5: 5 M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M() from b.cpp M::~M() from b.cpp And here is the Suse output. The objects created in test1() are of the type M defined in a.cpp but the object created in test2() is also of the type M defined in a.cpp, unlike the object created under Windows which is of the type M defined in b.cpp. The program crashed in the end: Example 1 M() from a.cpp M::operator int() from a.cpp b1: -1 Example 2 M(int) from a.cpp, i: 5 M::operator int() from a.cpp b2: 5 Example 3 M(int) from a.cpp, i: 6 M::operator int() from a.cpp b3: 6 Example 4 M(M&) from a.cpp, i: -1 M::operator int() from a.cpp b4: -1 Example 5 M() from a.cpp M::operator =(), i: 5 M::operator int() from a.cpp b5: 5 M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp M() from a.cpp M::~M() from a.cpp Segmentation fault (core dumped) I couldn't make the angle brackets appear using Markdown, so I used quotes around the header file name iostream. Otherwise, the code could be copied verbatim and tried. It is purely scholastic. The statement cin.get() at the end of main() was included just to facilitate running the program directly from VS2005 (cause it to display the output window until we could analyze the output). We are looking for a software engineer in Sunnyvale, CA and may offer that position to the programmer capable of providing an intelligent and comprehensive explanation of these anomalies. I can be contacted at [email protected].

  • Linq to SQL DataContext Windsor IoC memory leak problem

    - by Mr. Flibble
    I have an ASP.NET MVC app that creates a Linq2SQL datacontext on a per-web-request basis using Castler Windsor IoC. For some reason that I do not fully understand, every time a new datacontext is created (on every web request) about 8k of memory is taken up and not released - which inevitably causes an OutOfMemory exception. If I force garbage collection the memory is released OK. My datacontext class is very simple: public class DataContextAccessor : IDataContextAccessor { private readonly DataContext dataContext; public DataContextAccessor(string connectionString) { dataContext = new DataContext(connectionString); } public DataContext DataContext { get { return dataContext; } } } The Windsor IoC webconfig to instantiate this looks like so: <component id="DataContextAccessor" service="DomainModel.Repositories.IDataContextAccessor, DomainModel" type="DomainModel.Repositories.DataContextAccessor, DomainModel" lifestyle="PerWebRequest"> <parameters> <connectionString> ... </connectionString> </parameters> </component> Does anyone know what the problem is, and how to fix it?

  • java: List wrapper where get()/set() is allowed but add/remove is not

    - by Jason S
    I need to wrap a List<T> with some class that allows calls to set/get but does not allow add/remove calls, so that the list remains "stuck" at a fixed length. I think I have a thin wrapper class (below) that will work, but I'm not 100% positive. Did I miss anything obvious? import java.util.Collection; import java.util.Iterator; import java.util.List; import java.util.ListIterator; class RestrictedListWrapper<T> implements List<T> { static <T> T fail() throws UnsupportedOperationException { throw new UnsupportedOperationException(); } static private class IteratorWrapper<T> implements ListIterator<T> { final private ListIterator<T> iter; private IteratorWrapper(ListIterator<T> iter) { this.iter = iter; } static public <T> RestrictedListWrapper.IteratorWrapper<T> wrap(ListIterator<T> target) { return new RestrictedListWrapper.IteratorWrapper<T>(target); } @Override public void add(T e) { fail(); } @Override public boolean hasNext() { return this.iter.hasNext(); } @Override public boolean hasPrevious() { return this.iter.hasPrevious(); } @Override public T next() { return this.iter.next(); } @Override public int nextIndex() { return this.iter.nextIndex(); } @Override public T previous() { return this.iter.previous(); } @Override public int previousIndex() { return this.iter.previousIndex(); } @Override public void remove() { fail(); } @Override public void set(T e) { this.iter.set(e); } } final private List<T> list; private RestrictedListWrapper(List<T> list) { this.list = list; } static public <T> RestrictedListWrapper<T> wrap(List<T> target) { return new RestrictedListWrapper<T>(target); } @Override public boolean add(T arg0) { return fail(); } @Override public void add(int index, T element) { fail(); } @Override public boolean addAll(Collection<? extends T> arg0) { return fail(); } @Override public boolean addAll(int arg0, Collection<? extends T> arg1) { return fail(); } /** * clear() allows setting all members of the list to null */ @Override public void clear() { ListIterator<T> it = this.list.listIterator(); while (it.hasNext()) { it.set(null); it.next(); } } @Override public boolean contains(Object o) { return this.list.contains(o); } @Override public boolean containsAll(Collection<?> c) { return this.list.containsAll(c); } @Override public T get(int index) { return this.list.get(index); } @Override public int indexOf(Object o) { return this.list.indexOf(o); } @Override public boolean isEmpty() { return false; } @Override public Iterator<T> iterator() { return listIterator(); } @Override public int lastIndexOf(Object o) { return this.list.lastIndexOf(o); } @Override public ListIterator<T> listIterator() { return IteratorWrapper.wrap(this.list.listIterator()); } @Override public ListIterator<T> listIterator(int index) { return IteratorWrapper.wrap(this.list.listIterator(index)); } @Override public boolean remove(Object o) { return fail(); } @Override public T remove(int index) { fail(); return fail(); } @Override public boolean removeAll(Collection<?> c) { return fail(); } @Override public boolean retainAll(Collection<?> c) { return fail(); } @Override public T set(int index, T element) { return this.list.set(index, element); } @Override public int size() { return this.list.size(); } @Override public List<T> subList(int fromIndex, int toIndex) { return new RestrictedListWrapper<T>(this.list.subList(fromIndex, toIndex)); } @Override public Object[] toArray() { return this.list.toArray(); } @Override public <T> T[] toArray(T[] a) { return this.list.toArray(a); } }

  • java - register problem

    - by Jake
    Hi! When i try to register a person with the name Eric for example, and then again registrating Eric it works. This should not happen with the code i have. Eric should not be registrated if theres already an Eric in the list. Here is my full code: import java.util.*; import se.lth.cs.pt.io.*; class Person { private String name; private String nbr; public Person (String name, String nbr) { this.name = name; this.nbr = nbr; } public String getName() { return name; } public String getNumber() { return nbr; } public String toString() { return name + " : " + nbr; } } class Register { private List<Person> personer; public Register() { personer = new ArrayList<Person>(); } // boolean remove(String name) { // } private Person findName(String name) { for (Person person : personer) { if (person.getName() == name) { return person; } } return null; } private boolean containsName(String name) { return findName(name) != null; } public boolean insert(String name, String nbr) { if (containsName(name)) { return false; } Person person = new Person(name, nbr); personer.add(person); Collections.sort(personer, new A()); return true; } //List<Person> findByPartOfName(String partOfName) { //} //List<Person> findByNumber(String nbr) { //} public List<Person> findAll() { List<Person> copy = new ArrayList<Person>(); for (Person person : personer) { copy.add(person); } return copy; } public void printList(List<Person> personer) { for (Person person : personer) { System.out.println(person.toString()); } } } class A implements Comparator < Person > { @Override public int compare(Person o1, Person o2) { if(o1.getName() != null && o2.getName() != null){ return o1.getName().compareTo(o2.getName()); } return 0; } } class TestScript { public static void main(String[] args) { new TestScript().run(); } void test(String msg, boolean status) { if (status) { System.out.println(msg + " -- ok"); } else { System.out.printf("==== FEL: %s ====
", msg); } } void run() { Register register = new Register(); System.out.println("Vad vill du göra:"); System.out.println("1. • DUnit: How to run tests?

    - by Ian Boyd
    How do i run TestCase's from the IDE? i created a new project, with a single, simple, form: unit Unit1; interface uses Windows, Messages, SysUtils, Classes, Graphics, Controls, Forms, Dialogs, StdCtrls; type TForm1 = class(TForm) private public end; var Form1: TForm1; implementation {$R *.DFM} end. Now i'll add a test case to check that pushing Button1 does what it should: unit Unit1; interface uses Windows, Messages, SysUtils, Classes, Graphics, Controls, Forms, Dialogs, StdCtrls; type TForm1 = class(TForm) Button1: TButton; procedure Button1Click(Sender: TObject); private public end; var Form1: TForm1; implementation {$R *.DFM} uses TestFramework; type TForm1Tests = class(TTestCase) private f: TForm1; protected procedure SetUp; override; procedure TearDown; override; published procedure TestButton1Click; end; procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject); begin //todo end; { TForm1Tests } procedure TForm1Tests.SetUp; begin inherited; f := TForm1.Create(nil); end; procedure TForm1Tests.TearDown; begin f.Free; inherited; end; procedure TForm1Tests.TestButton1Click; begin f.Button1Click(nil); Self.CheckEqualsString('Hello, world!', f.Caption); end; end. Given what i've done (test code in the GUI project), how do i now trigger a run of the tests? If i push F9 then the form simply appears: Ideally there would be a button, or menu option, in the IDE saying Run DUnit Tests: Am i living in a dream-world? A fantasy land, living in a gumdrop house on lollipop lane?

  • Regex to parse a multiline HTML

    - by dreamer
    am trying to parse a multi-line html file using regex. HTML code: < td>Details< /td> < /tr> < tr class=d1> < td>uss_vod_translator< /td> Regex Expression: if ($line =~ m/Details
\s*
\s*<tr\s*class=d1>\s*
(\w*)
/) { print "$1"; } I am using /s* (space) for multi-line, but it is not working. I searched about it, even used /\? for multi-line but that too did not work. Can any one please suggest me how to parse a multiline HTML?
