• Hibernate Query Exception

  I've got a hibernate query I'm trying to get working but keep getting an exception with a not so helpful stack trace. I'm including the code, the stack trace, and hibernate chatter before the exception is thrown. • ContractFilter mismatch at the EndpointDispatcher

  I've created a simple WCF service but when I use Visual Studio to add a service reference, this error comes up. The message with Action '' cannot be processed at the receiver, due to a ContractFilter mismatch at the EndpointDispatcher. This may be because of either a contract mismatch (mismatched Actions between sender and receiver) or a binding/security mismatch between the sender and the receiver. Check that sender and receiver have the same contract and the same binding (including security requirements, e.g. Message, Transport, None).   If you design a distributed application for easy scale-out, or you just want to make use of any of the new “cloud computing” offerings by Amazon, Google or Microsoft, there are some typical concepts or components you usually end up using: distributed blob storage (aka S3) asynchronous, durable message queues (aka SQS) non-Relational-/non-transactional databases (like SimpleDB, Google BigTable, Azure SQL Services) distributed background worker pool load-balanced, edge-service processes handling user requests (often virtualized) distributed caches (like memcached) CDN (content delivery network like Akamai) Now when it comes to design and sketch an architecture that makes use of such patterns, are there any commonly used symbols I could use? Or even a download with some cool Visio stencils? :) It doesn’t have to be a formal system like UML but I think it would be great if there were symbols that everyone knows and understands, like we have commonly used shapes for databases or a documents, for example. I think it would be important to not mix it up with traditional concepts like a normal file system (local or network server/SAN), or a relational database. Simply speaking, I want to be able to draw some conclusions about an application’s scalability or data consistency issues by just looking at the system architecture overview diagram. However, Tomcat returns a blank page on "?wsdl" requests. Also, when I try to manipulate the (would-be) published WSDL by adding a publishedEndpointURL property to the jaxws:endpoint element, Tomcat will issue a XML parse exception (something like property publishedEndpointURL is not allowed in element jaxws:endpoint) <jaxws:endpoint id="service" implementor="org.sample.ServiceImpl" implementorClass="org.sample.ServiceImpl" address="/service" publishedEndpointURL="http://localhost:8080/MyService/service"> I used "contract first" style. • Display Simple Web Page In My Application Using Blackberry BrowserField

I am using the code below and right now all I get is empty screen .. I know that the application is accessing the internet (the data transfer arrow flashes in the top right corner) but not sure why its not rendering. • CSS positioning is weird when reducing the viewport

  I have a little meditation for you ... I run a site using a liquid tri-col layout with a header. The layout runs nicely since more than a decade with all browsers I ever dared to try. It is based on absolute positioning in CSS. This page provides an example of the actual site. Watching the page from my tablet I found that the right column overlaps the center matter. Further investigation using Firebug showed that once the center content reaches 360px width, the right margin of the div shrinks. Why is that? Since Firefox and Android render the same, I guess that this is something, which is actually supposed to be. However, I tried to make virtue out of necessity and experimented setting min-width for body and content and made the body scroll overflow. The body actually scrolls, but the right column is positioned on the right edge of the viewport instead of the body element (Firefox). Is this intentional CSS standard? Any ideas how to solve the presentation on small displays? Thanks for your efforts,  – lars.

• XNA Alpha Blending to make part of a texture transparent

  What I am trying to do is use alpha blending in XNA to make part of a drawn texture transparent. So for instance, I clear the screen to some color, lets say Blue. Then I draw a texture that is red. Finally I draw a texture that is just a radial gradient from completely transparent in the center to completely black at the edge. What I want is the Red texture drawn earlier to be transparent in the same places as the radial gradient texture. So you should be able to see the blue back ground through the red texture. I thought that this would work. • Need content in UIWebView to display quickly

  Part of my app caches web pages for offline viewing. To do that, I am saving the HTML fetched from a site and rewriting img urls to point to a file on the local store. When I load the html into a UIWebView, it loads the images as expected and everything's fine. I am also caching stylesheets in this fashion. The problem is that when I put the phone into airplane mode, loading this cached html causes the UIWebView to display a blank screen and pause for a while before displaying the page. I've figured out that it's caused by non-cached URLs referenced from the original HTML doc that the web view is trying to fetch. These other URLs include images within the cached stylesheets, content in iframes, and javascript that opens a connection to fetch other resources. The pause happens when the UIWebView tries to fetch these resources, and the web page only appears after all these other fetches have timed out. My questions is, how can I make UIWebView just display the stuff I've cached immediately? Here are my thoughts: write even more code to cache these other references. This is potentially a ton more code to catch all the edge cases, etc., especially having to parse the Javascript to see what it loads after the page is loaded force UIWebView to time out immediately so there's no pause. I haven't figured out how to do this. somehow get what's already loaded to display even though the external references haven't finished fetching yet strip the code of all scripts, link tags and iframes to "erase" the external references. I've tried this one, but for some sites, the resultant page is severely messed up Can anyone help me here? I've been working on this forever, and am running out of ideas.

• BizTalk WCF Service

  Hi, I am getting an error in my event viewer after deploying a wcf service on our server. The Messaging Engine received an error from transport adapter "WCF-BasicHttp" when notifying the adapter with the BatchComplete event. Reason "Value does not fall within the expected range.". The thing is, this service was running before and worked fine. I just modified a schema a bit, undeployed the service and redeployed. When I then talk to this service the event viewer shows me this message. If I deploy the same service locally it works fine. Also if I browse to my service with explorer it shows no errors. Normally when the receive location is wrong or the used user isn't in the isolated biztalk usergroup it gives an error here, but this isn't the case. Anyone have any idea what I should do? My problem is pretty urgent.. I googled my errormessage but without much success. Thanks yall

  Hello, I have a rather annoying problem in my server application. I bind Apache Mina with the following code: acceptor.bind(new InetSocketAddress(PORT)); Where acceptor is an NioSocketAcceptor. Over a HTTP interface I can shutdown the server so I can restart it. Request from "+context.getRemoteAddress()); System.exit(10); This is the code I use to stop the Mina server. However if I try to start the server again in the next couple of minutes. (Somewhere between 5 minutes and 15 minutes) I get the following exception on start up: java.net.BindException: Address already in use I also tried a simple ioAcceptor.unbind() but there was no difference. The server runs on Centos 5 with OpenJDK. Apache Mina version is 2.0 RC1. Thank you in advance for any ideas on how to resolve this.

• Consume a WCF Web Service in Sharepoint Services 3.0

  I've seen this question and since it doesn't answer my question and the topic is fairly miss-leading in my opinion, I feel the urge to ask this again. I have a Sharepoint Webpart that I deploy using Visual Studio Sharepoint Tools 1.2 to a Sharepoint Services 3.0 instance on my local Windows 2003 server. All works great, however, as soon as I add a WCF Service it won't run the code. All I get is a File not found error.   I am putting together some guidelines for code reviews. We do not have one formal process yet, and trying to formalize it. And our team is geographically distributed We are using TFS for source control (used it for tasks/bug tracking/project management as well, but migrated that to JIRA) with VS2008 for development. What are the things you look for when doing a code review ? These are the things I came up with Enforce FXCop rules (we are a Microsoft shop) Check for performance (any tools ?) and security (thinking about using OWASP- code crawler) and thread safety Adhere to naming conventions The code should cover edge cases and boundaries conditions Should handle exceptions correctly (do not swallow exceptions) Check if the functionality is duplicated elsewhere method body should be small(20-30 lines) , and methods should do one thing and one thing only (no side effects/ avoid temporal coupling -) Do not pass/return nulls in methods Avoid dead code Document public and protected methods/properties/variables What other things do you generally look for ? I am trying to see if we can quantify the review process (it would produce identical output when reviewed by different persons) Example: Saying "the method body should be no longer than 20-30 lines of code" as opposed to saying "the method body should be small" Or is code review very subjective ( and would differ from one reviewer to another ) ? The objective is to have a marking system (say -1 point for each FXCop rule violation,-2 points for not following naming conventions,2 point for refactoring etc) so that developers would be more careful when they check in their code.This way, we can identify developers who are consistently writing good/bad code.The goal is to have the reviewer spend about 30 minutes max, to do a review (I know this is subjective, considering the fact that the changeset/revision might include multiple files/huge changes to the existing architecture etc , but you get the general idea, the reviewer should not spend days reviewing someone's code) What other objective/quantifiable system do you follow to identify good/bad code written by developers? • How to best transfer large payloads of data using wsHttp with WCF with message security

  I have a case where I need to transfer large amounts of serialized object graphs (via NetDataContractSerializer) using WCF using wsHttp. I'm using message security and would like to continue to do so. Using this setup I would like to transfer serialized object graph which can sometimes approach around 300MB or so but when I try to do so I've started seeing a exception of type System.InsufficientMemoryException appear. After a little research it appears that by default in WCF that a result to a service call is contained within a single message by default which contains the serialized data and this data is buffered by default on the server until the whole message is completely written. Thus the memory exception is being caused by the fact that the server is running out of memory resources that it is allowed to allocate because that buffer is full. The two main recommendations that I've come across are to use streaming or chunking to solve this problem however it is not clear to me what that involves and whether either solution is possible with my current setup (wsHttp/NetDataContractSerializer/Message Security). So far I understand that to use streaming message security would not work because message encryption and decryption need to work on the whole set of data and not a partial message. Chunking however sounds like it might be possible however it is not clear to me how it would be done with the other constraints that I've listed. If anybody could offer some guidance on what solutions are available and how to go about implementing it I would greatly appreciate it.   I have a Java based web service that requires basic authentication to communicate with it. If I type the WSDL url into my browser I'm prompted for Basic Auth. Which I can get by entering the correct credentials. However using my WCF client doesn't work. • Debugging Cactus Tests in Eclipse

  Side note: This is inherited code, I didn't do any of the setup and am new to the project. I'm trying to set up remote debugging in Eclipse for these unit tests that use Cactus. I've read around a bit (but I can't seem to find any REAL information how to set this up). Closest I've found is here (http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/community/tutorials/CactusInWTP/CactusInWTP.html), but it just says to Debug - Debug on Server, but nowhere does it say where the debug port is set or anything, and I can't find anything on how to enable this, set it. Just asking to see if anyone has set this up before, it would really help stepping through the code rather than just logging. The plugin (http://jakarta.apache.org/cactus/integration/eclipse/runner_plugin.html) Looks promising, but I also don't even know where to download it, it doesn't link to a location -.- The project uses ant, cactus, and I'm using Eclipse. • WCF Mono - BasicHttpBinding with SSL

  I'm trying to port an existing WCF client application to run on Linux under Mono. Right now I'm testing everything out, figuring out what works on Mono and what doesn't. The client makes a super simple call over basicHttpBinding. It works great, until I enable SSL (that is, specify BasicHttpSecurityMode.Transport in the binding). Running on .NET in Windows, it works great Running on Mono on Ubuntu 9.10 / Mono 2.6 I get the following error: Exception in async operation: System.Net.WebException: Error getting response stream (Write: The authentication or decryption has failed.): SendFailure --- System.IO.IOException: The authentication or decryption has failed. --- Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.TlsException: Invalid certificate received from server. Error code: 0xffffffff800b010a I've read the Mono security FAQ here: http://www.mono-project.com/FAQ:_Security; however the SSL certificate on the server is from a root CA (a purchased certificate) - issued by Equifax Secure Certificate Authority. I ran the TlsTest tool on the Ubuntu install against the .svc URL and there are no problems/errors. Also I can hit the service fine in Firefox (no security warnings). What am I missing?
