  • Problems with VPN (Hamachi, EasyVPN)

    Hi. Im having a lot of problems with getting hamachi (and other similar VPN software) to work on my laptop. (Win7 Home Premium 32bit) People can seem to ping me without problems, but trying to ping other people gives me "request timed out". Ive tried everything (disabling firewall, antivirus) but nothing seems to help. How can i fix this?

    Hi, I need to have ability to stealthfully access, view, and control a few dozen PC's on my company's network. I would need a control panel window, so I can instantly connect to any of the users. Please recommend a secure solution, that will not make us vulnerable to viruses and hackers.     Hi there We have a Mac OS X Server setup to be a VPN as well, we also have a freelancer who wants log in to the Mac OS X VPN on our server, but he keeps getting errors. I have tested the VPN with our Macs, and they connect fine using Snow Leopard. Our VPN type is L2TP over IPSec and we use a shared secret instead of a certificate. Does anyone have any pointers for me?

    Hi, I am looking for a way to exclude specific file types from being logged in the security audits. I have a folder being audited for deletion events and the majority of logged events are .tmp files (such as a temp Word file that is automatically deleted when the app is closed) which I do not care about.     Hi, How do I go about deleting my YouTube account? It became associated with my Google Account under a stupid name, all I wanted to do was change it to my name. Unfortunatly, it's now become unlinked and I can't do anything with it. Ideally, I'd like to just delete it and start again - I don't think you can rename an account...does anyone know how?     Hi, sometimes I feel my server not responding as smoothly as I would expect (i have a Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.80GHz Quad Core), given that for example, the 'top' commands reports a low load < 0.5, CPU are almost completely idle ... I maybe have internet connectivity issues, so I don't really know if it's me or if it's the server itself. Is there anykind of benchmarking script (or something analogous) I could run and see the actual performance of the server ?

  • stsadm crash after sps07 to sps10 upgrade

    Hi all I have made an upgrade from sps07 to sps10 and I am trying now to make backups of sps10 using the command stsadm -o backup -directory c:\backup -backupmethod full The problem that Occurs is that stsadm crashes when trying todo the backup. Even worse is that when I try just to start stsadm from the command line I get following error. Unhanded exception: System.MissingMethodException: Methode not found: "Void Microsoft.SharePoint.SPRequestManager.Dispose()".at Microsoft.SharePoint.StsAdmin.SPStsAdmin.Main(String[] args) Holy moly what is happening?!

    Hi all, I'd like to know if there is a way for a user account to be enabled or elevated to carry out system admin tasks WITHOUT having to use the root account or sudo. Goal here is to allow a user account to Add/Delete users/printers without giving them the 'God' powers that the root account carries, in a way setting up a restricted system admin essentially. Not sure if there is a way of doing this as most just use root to my understanding.

    Hi, I setup a cron for taking backup of my SVN repo( 8 GB) to another server. But some times I get errors and I feel that this is not the proper way to back an svn to a remote server. I used the command rsync -avz myrepo. Please suggest me a good way to do svn backup to a remote server. I cannot zip the files and transfer it daily since it's 7 GB. Thanks
