  • Have a child window be notified when parent window goes to a different page?

    - by Heinrich Schmetterling
i have a parent window and a child window. in javascript, i want a function in child window to be called whenever the parent window loads a new page. i'd like to use something similar to jQuery's $(document).ready() so that I don't have to worry about whether the parent is done loading yet - but ready() only appears to fire when the window loads the first page - but not when, say, a link is clicked in the parent and it loads a second page. any suggestions? thanks.

  • check if a URI exists?

    - by noname
How do I check if a URI exists with PHP? I guess it will return an error code and I can check it before I use file_get_contents, because if I use file_get_contents on a link that doesn't exist, it gives me an error.

Now a user can view all recipes but I would like the option to add the particular recipe to a favourites list. Im looking for the best practice here or if someone has done this before and can offer any advice that would be appreciated

  • How to set up a database and API web page to accept POST updates from iPhone?

    - by lionfly
Hi there, I am developing an iPhone app, which now can update Twitter account with GPS coordinates in real-time, by the Twitter API link: http://username:[email protected]/statuses/update.xml , and I am looking at how to make my own database to accept updates from iPhone, via a similar API page. It seems a .php page can serve as the API, and MySQL can serve as the database. What are the good ways of doing it? Any template code and tutorial please?

The template layout I was thinking of is this: <strong>Representative: </strong> {% if customer.representative %} {{ customer.representative }} {% else %} <a href="{% url representCustomer customer.id %}">Represent this customer.</a> {% endif %} All that remains is the view to effect this...this is where I'm stuck.
