  • three monitors one is very slow

    I have three 23" monitors attached to 2 cards: Geforce GT 220 (1gb) Geforce 8400 GS (512mb) My System is quad core (Q8300 @ 2.50Ghz) 6GB Ram 64-bit windows 7 professional I have 2 monitors connected to the GT 220 and they work perfectly. I have 1 monitor (was hoping to attach another one) to the 8400 The monitor atatched to the 8400 is quite slow and jerky. What can i do to improve the performance? I disabled aero theme, didn't make much difference (if any)

  • Mouse curser gets "weird" when I move it between different monitors

    I'm using a Windows 7 64-bit machine with two monitors side by side. Sometimes when I have a fullsreen application running on my main monitor and I am moving the mouse curser between the two monitors, the curser gets corrupted. You cannot see that it is a curser anymore. To fix it I have to restart the computer. Has anyone heard about this problem before? How do I fix it without rebooting?

    just as this link says : http://untidy.net/blog/2009/11/03/replacing-notepad-with-pn-via-image-file-execution-options/ I wanna replace Notepad.exe to Notepad2.exe using "Image File Execution Options" function by run this command reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\notepad.exe" /v "Debugger" /t REG_SZ /d "\"c:\windows\Notepad2.exe\" /z" /f but, when I run notepad, it open file c:\windows\notepad.exe in notepad2.exe as a text file by default. Is there a way to avoid that? I know using this tech Notepad.exe will as the first param passed to Notepad2.exe. but I don't know how to avoid this :(

  • Computer keeps locking me out

    When I'm away from my computer (Windows XP) for more than ~30 minutes, I get locked out, and have to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to login. I've checked the screensaver settings, and it's not set to lock the screen. Does anyone know what else could be causing this? Thanks

  • Why must user be logged in for impersonation to work?

    My Windows Server 2008 server hosts an ASP.net application that uses impersonation. The application works as long as the user being impersonated remains logged on to the server. However, when the user logs off, clients can no longer view the web pages. They get a cryptic error instead. How can I configure the server to work without the impersonated user remaining logged on?     I am new with Hadoop. What are the specific reasons why Hadoop is so tightly bound with Linux, and the cluster it runs upon is homogeneous? I'm looking for really specific details that can tell me why Hadoop does not work well with windows, and if there are some libraries some specific scripts that are involved? My project is to deploy Hadoop without using Cygwin. I have already seen the article from Hayes Davis where he explained how to install Hadoop without Cygwin, but he said that there are some bugs. I might start from scratch to properly configure Hadoop on Windows, but if any one can explain what, specifically, are the reasons that Hadoop doesn't work well on windows that would be very helpful.

  • Recovery partition is 'visible' while hidden

    For some reason the recovery partition of windows is appearing while it is hidden. With hidden I mean hidden in Disk management and Diskpart. This partition causes the screen to flicker sometimes, as it is continuously switching between being visible and hidden. Sometimes however, it is just visible. In the attached screenshots you can see the configuration. Translation: partitie=partition, In orde = OK, Verborgen = hidden, Lokale schijf = local disk, Herstelpartitie = recovery partition

    Possible Duplicate: Recover data loss from accidental quick format My husband downloaded windows 7 to my computer (previously vista) and in the process, deleted everything I had on my computer. He did it without telling me, so nothing was backed up before the transfer. Now, all of my documents, and my entire itunes library are gone. Please tell me there's something I can do. I downloaded itunes again, but nothing is there. Help!

  • Shared memory of same DLL in different 32 bit processes is sometimes different in a terminal session

    We have an 32 bit application consisting of some processes. They communicate with shared memory of a DLL used by every process. Shared memory is build with global variables in C++ by "#pragma data_seg ("Shared")". When running this application sometime during starting a new process in addition to an existing (first) process we observe that the shared memory of both processes is not the same. All new started processes cannot communicate with the first process. After stopping all of our processes and restarting the application (with some processes) everything works fine. But sometime or other after successfully starting and finishing new processes the problem occurs again. Running on all other Windows versions or terminal sessions on Windows server 2003 our application never got this problem. Is there any new "feature" on Windows server 2008 that might disturb the hamony of our application?
