I'm trying to change the default color for the options menu which is white. I want a black background for every item on the options menu. I've tried some shoots like android:itemBackground="#000000" on the item element within the menu element but it doesn't work.
I don't know if this is doable or not. Any idea would be welcome! :)
I need a lightbox plugin that is styled similar to FancyBox but will allow me to add text to the same white background as the image. Lightweight because I don't want many features as it's going to be added to an already heavy JS page. Preferably without Ajax features as I'll be handling this myself.
Therefore I'm ruling out the use of Thickbox, Fancybox and jQuery UI.
Basically I want the plugin to be a currently supported light-box jQuery plug-in that handles all the cross browser styling issues which I can then customise.
hi,
can I hide the borders of the searchbox ? I would like it completely white, just the text should be visible.
And I need a solution for all browsers.

Getting started with ImageMagic and trying to find a way to do this... If an image is less than 50 pixels tall or 50 pixels wide, I'd like to place it (un-scaled) in the horizontal/vertical center of a new 50x50 pixel canvas on top of a white background - and save that as the new image. Anyone know if this is possible with ImageMagick? Thanks!
I am using BGHUDAppKit for an outline view within a HUD-style (black) NSPanel. As such the text in my outline view cells is light gray or white. Unfortunately this means that when I hover to bring up a tooltip for a cell's value, it shows up as light gray text on yellow, which is illegible.
How can I set the text color for the tooltip, or is there a way that I can modify the control itself (without changing its appearance) to work better with the tooltip mechanism?
I want images that gradually "gradient" to blend in with the background color (white/transparent) as it gets to the bottom. Is there a way I can apply a CSS3 gradient or some sort of gradual transparency using CSS3 to the bottom edges of the image so it looks like its fading into the background color? I know I can make images with some photoeditor to achieve that effect, but I am curious to know if CSS3 can accomplish it.
Ok, so I hate CSS/HTML graphic design... What do you guys recommend as a sample template or website that you think has great CSS and html layout? From my past experience it's best to get a page that has a white background and little dependency on graphics -- that's clean, and easy to modify ;-).
hi,
how can I remove the space between my video and control bar... I tried to change margin and padding to all element without success. There is still a thin white space above the controls.

I have a font resize function on my page which increases the font size via javascript for the entire page.
This works fine in most browsers except IE. When decreasing the font size after increasing it, the select boxes new height does not decrease, even though the font size is decreasing on it. Instead the smaller font appears to be padded with white space.
Any ideas as to what IE is doing here, and a work around?
If I have a string
"this is a string"
How can I shorten it so that I only have one space between the words rather than multiple? (The number of white spaces is random)

Hello,
My layout contains a ListView (the parent is a LinearLayout). I have defined a certain drawable to be the ListView's background. The screen looks like this:
When I click/press the white empty space below the last row, I get this:
Any idea how this happens? Couldn't catch any click event in this activity...
i will be printing the access report. the report will not be printed a regular white paper. it will be printed on top of a paper with checkboxes and fields on it. i need those checkboxes and fields to be printed on according to the access data.
are there any libraries for access that make this easier? is there a feature that will help to print on specific coordinates?
hi
i'm using serialize/unserialize functions in php 5.2. the text to be stored is POSTed via a form. btw, no white-space before or after. if text contains " or ' it serializes successfully. the problem is it does not unserialize back. what i'm doing wrong?
I have a sprite that I'm using for rounded corners. The left corner sits on top of a gradient background, but the right corner sits on a white background. I don't want to have to put the images on the page as I'd rather have them in a sprite and just move the placement through the background property.
Will something like pngfix not work if the png is not in the markup?
For some odd reason, my project is generating two icons, same name, launches the same project, in the app drawer. I can't figure out what is causing this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The M in the white circle is my default icon. If you view the screenshot, you'll see it appears twice. I've checked the applications area, and it is only installed once.
I have an iframe on in a div, with a background colour. When the page is loading, the iframe placeholder turns white. Is there any way to change the background when an iframe is loading?
Thank you in advance.
I have a background image on top of which there is some text.
It is very hard to read the text because of the background.
I would like to add a white background just around the text itself, such that the text could be easily read. How can I accomplish this using CSS/Javascript/jQuery ?
I am having trouble displaying a webview. I have a webview inside a custom view. I load this custom view as a subview of the window, and then have an object controller linking a text field to the content of the web view. Once a page is loaded, it loads all the content, but it is visually white. You can click on links. If you go to a Youtube video you can listen to it, but it still displays nothing.
I have a div (.header) contained within other divs. When my page loads, momentarily just that one .header div "flashes" white as the page is loading, especially in in Firefox, but a little bit in IE8 too. I can't find what kind of CSS or lack thereof is causing this - there's no images or background color associated with that div. There is a logo.png within the .header. Thoughts?

I'm using the Windows XP look and feel. On a panel containing a button there is a rectangular area around a button that looks like the area that a classic button would take up. That area is not adhering to the color of my panel. For example I'm setting my panel to blue but the area around the button is still white. What is the name of that area. I've tried button.shadow but that's not it.
Thanks
