  • Java Trusting ssl CA

    - by LuigiEdlCarno
I guess I am out of ideas here. I am trying to consume a web service in java which has an ssl certificate. I createt a a keystore file in which I have added the certificate. The file lies in my project folder. I imported it using: System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", "folder\\keystore.jks"); System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", "SECRET"); Apparently, the web service call checks the keystore because when giving a wrong path to the file the application throws an exception when invoking the WS, not when setting the system property. Anyway, when giving the correct path to the keystore file, I still get AxisFault faultCode: {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}HTTP faultSubcode: faultString: (401)Authorization Required Someone told me I had to trust the CA, before any of this would work. How do I do this?

Hi All, I have a file that is in structured storage format. I was wondering if this format be accessed concurrently by threads. Meaning have multiple threads read the different streams process it at once. The objective is to load the file faster. When i refer to a file i refer one that represents CAD information. Thank you.

  • How do i generate thumbnail image for use with img tag ? Java web application.

    - by Nitesh Panchal
Hello, I am using the below given code, but it is not working properly. Can anybody tell me how do i generate thumbnail of the image? because i am creating a photo album and i want only thumbnail images to be downloaded at first, not the entire 400-500 kb images. File objFile = new File(strImageFullPath); File targetFile = new File(strImageFullPathWithoutExt + "_small" + strFileExtension); Image image = ImageIO.read(objFile); final int WIDTH = 150; final int HEIGHT = 150; Image thumbnailImage = image.getScaledInstance(WIDTH, HEIGHT, Image.SCALE_DEFAULT); BufferedImage objThumbnailBufferedImage = new BufferedImage(WIDTH, HEIGHT, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB); Graphics gfx = objThumbnailBufferedImage.getGraphics(); gfx.drawImage(image, 0, 0, null); gfx.dispose(); ImageIO.write(objThumbnailBufferedImage, strFileExtension.substring(1), targetFile); Just assume that few variables like strImageFullPath, strImageFullPathWithoutExt etc they exist. Thanks in advance :)

  • Bulk update & occasional insert (coredata) - Too slow

    - by Andrew
Update: Currently looking into NSSET's minusSet links: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1475636/comparing-two-arrays Hi guys, Could benefit from your wisdom here.. I'm using Coredata in my app, on first launch I download a data file and insert over 500 objects (each with 60 attributes) - fast, no problem. Each subsequent launch I download an updated version of the file, from which I need to update all existing objects' attributes (except maybe 5 attributes) and create new ones for items which have been added to the downloaded file. So, first launch I get 500 objects.. say a week later my file now contains 507 items.. I create two arrays, one for existing and one for downloaded. NSArray *peopleArrayDownloaded = [CoreDataHelper getObjectsFromContext:@"person" :@"person_id" :YES :managedObjectContextPeopleTemp]; NSArray *peopleArrayExisting = [CoreDataHelper getObjectsFromContext:@"person" :@"person_id" :YES :managedObjectContextPeople]; If the count of each array is equal then I just do this: NSUInteger index = 0; if ([peopleArrayExisting count] == [peopleArrayDownloaded count]) { NSLog(@"Number of people downloaded is same as the number of people existing"); for (person *existingPerson in peopleArrayExisting) { person *tempPerson = [peopleArrayDownloaded objectAtIndex:index]; // NSLog(@"Updating id: %@ with id: %@",existingPerson.person_id,tempPerson.person_id); // I have 60 attributes which I to update on each object, is there a quicker way other than overwriting existing? index++; } } else { NSLog(@"Number of people downloaded is different to number of players existing"); So now comes the slow part. I end up using this (which is tooooo slow): NSLog(@"Need people added to the league"); for (person *tempPerson in peopeArrayDownloaded) { NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"person_id = %@",tempPerson.person_id]; // NSLog(@"Searching for existing person, person_id: %@",existingPerson.person_id); NSArray *filteredArray = [peopleArrayExisting filteredArrayUsingPredicate:predicate]; if ([filteredArray count] == 0) { NSLog(@"Couldn't find an existing person in the downloaded file. Adding.."); person *newPerson = [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"person" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContextPeople]; Is there a way to generate a new array of index items referring to the additional items in my downloaded file? Incidentally, on my tableViews I'm using NSFetchedResultsController so updating attributes will call [cell setNeedsDisplay]; .. about 60 times per cell, not a good thing and it can crash the app. Thanks for reading :)

  • Split user.config into different files for faster saving (at runtime)

    - by HorstWalter
In my c# Windows Forms application (.net 3.5 / VS 2008) I have 3 settings files resulting in one user.config file. One setting file consists of larger data, but is rarely changed. The frequently changed data are very few. However, since the saving of the settings is always writing the whole (XML) file it is always "slow". SettingsSmall.Default.Save(); // slow, even if SettingsSmall consists of little data Could I configure the settings somehow to result in two files, resulting in: SettingsSmall.Default.Save(); // should be fast SettingsBig.Default.Save(); // could be slow, is seldom saved I have seen that I can use the SecionInformation class for further customizing, however what would be the easiest approach for me? Is this possible by just changing the app.config (config.sections)? --- added information about App.config The reason why I get one file might be the configSections in the App.config. This is how it looks: <configSections <sectionGroup name="userSettings" type="System.Configuration.UserSettingsGroup, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" <section name="XY.A.Properties.Settings2Class" type="System.Configuration.ClientSettingsSection, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" allowExeDefinition="MachineToLocalUser" requirePermission="false" / <section name="XY.A.Properties.Settings3Class" type="System.Configuration.ClientSettingsSection, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" allowExeDefinition="MachineToLocalUser" requirePermission="false" / </sectionGroup </configSections I got the sections when I've added the 2nd and 3rd settings file. I have not paid any attention to this, so it was somehow the default of VS 2008. The single user.config has these 3 sections, it is absolutely transparent. Only I do not know how to tell the App.config to create three independent files instead of one. I have "played around" with the app.config above, but e.g. when I remove the config sections my applications terminates with an exception.

  • penalty for "inlined" classes

    - by 2di
Hi All Visual studio allow you to create "inlined" classes (if I am not mistaken with the name). So class header and implementation all in one file. H. file contain definitions and declarations of the class and functions, there is no .cpp file at all. So I was wondering if there is any penalty for doing it that way? any disadvantages ? Thanks a lot

  • Need help making this code more efficient

    - by Rendicahya
    I always use this method to easily read the content of a file. Is it efficient enough? Is 1024 good for the buffer size? public static String read(File file) { FileInputStream stream = null; StringBuilder str = new StringBuilder(); try { stream = new FileInputStream(file); } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { } FileChannel channel = stream.getChannel(); ByteBuffer buffer = ByteBuffer.allocate(1024); try { while (channel.read(buffer) != -1) { buffer.flip(); while (buffer.hasRemaining()) { str.append((char) buffer.get()); } buffer.rewind(); } } catch (IOException e) { } finally { try { channel.close(); stream.close(); } catch (IOException e) { } } return str.toString(); }

  • how to get around the command line length limit

    - by Crash893
I've been working on a small and simple program that i drop files onto and based on certian rules they are moved to diffrent places. the program works fine unless i drop more than a few files on the program then it kicks back an error (that appears to be more windows than anything) that the start up command c:\myapp.exe \file \file \file is to long I realize i could set up a background proccess but i really would prefer that this program not run in the backround (where it would be idle 99.999999999% of the time) Can anyone think of any way around this limitation?

  • php parsing csv with ftell

    - by Robert82
I have a 500mb csv file with over 500,000 lines, each with 80 fields. I am using fget to process the file line by line. $col1 = array(); while (($row = fgetcsv($handle, 1000, ",")) !== FALSE) { $col1[] = $row[0]; } Because of an execution time limit on the PHP file by my hosting provider (120 seconds), I can't process the whole file in one run. I tried using ftell() and fseek() to remember the last position for restart. The trouble is, sometimes the ftell() position is in the middle of a row, and resuming means missing the first half of the row. Is there an elegant way to know the last line successfully processed, and resume from the one after it? I realize I can do a simple counter, and then loop through to that point again, but that would produce diminishing returns on the rows I can process towards the end of the file. Is there something like ftell() and fseek() that would work in my case? Or a way to limit ftell() to return the pointer for the end of the previous line?

  • Django Custom Field: Only run to_python() on values from DB?

    - by Adam Levy
How can I ensure that my custom field's *to_python()* method is only called when the data in the field has been loaded from the DB? I'm trying to use a Custom Field to handle the Base64 Encoding/Decoding of a single model property. Everything appeared to be working correctly until I instantiated a new instance of the model and set this property with its plaintext value...at that point, Django tried to decode the field but failed because it was plaintext. The allure of the Custom Field implementation was that I thought I could handle 100% of the encoding/decoding logic there, so that no other part of my code ever needed to know about it. What am I doing wrong? (NOTE: This is just an example to illustrate my problem, I don't need advice on how I should or should not be using Base64 Encoding) def encode(value): return base64.b64encode(value) def decode(value): return base64.b64decode(value) class EncodedField(models.CharField): __metaclass__ = models.SubfieldBase def __init__(self, max_length, *args, **kwargs): super(EncodedField, self).__init__(*args, **kwargs) def get_prep_value(self, value): return encode(value) def to_python(self, value): return decode(value) class Person(models.Model): internal_id = EncodedField(max_length=32) ...and it breaks when I do this in the interactive shell. Why is it calling to_python() here? >>> from myapp.models import * >>> Person(internal_id="foo") Traceback (most recent call last): File "<console>", line 1, in <module> File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/django/db/models/base.py", line 330, in __init__ setattr(self, field.attname, val) File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/django/db/models/fields/subclassing.py", line 98, in __set__ obj.__dict__[self.field.name] = self.field.to_python(value) File "../myapp/models.py", line 87, in to_python return decode(value) File "../myapp/models.py", line 74, in decode return base64.b64decode(value) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/base64.py", line 76, in b64decode raise TypeError(msg) TypeError: Incorrect padding I had expected I would be able to do something like this... >>> from myapp.models import * >>> obj = Person(internal_id="foo") >>> obj.internal_id 'foo' >>> obj.save() >>> newObj = Person.objects.get(internal_id="foo") >>> newObj.internal_id 'foo' >>> newObj.internal_id = "bar" >>> newObj.internal_id 'bar' >>> newObj.save() ...what am I doing wrong?

  • Is it possible to make this Flex/Flash application safe?

    - by Frank
I'm back with another Flex/Flash security question. I've already received some help from the community on this topic, but I'm still not quite sure this is the best way to do. Here's the thing. A flex web app, a lot of users (1000+), custom configuration of the application depending of the user group. Can I make this thing safe... or safer. For the moment, when a user comes to the application, there is only one configuration possible, but for the next version we've implented a multi-configuration protocol, this way : 1. The user connect to Default.aspx, server code process the windows credentials (whe are on intranet) and give the correct xml configuration file. 2. The flex app loads with the xml conf file as a flashvar and then the app 'builds' itself with the content of the xml file. As we know, since this is a flex application the swf is downloaded on the client computer and the xml file too. If more than one user connects to the app, from the same computer, the can possibly see the other xml file in the windows temp folder. The current directory of the application looks that way : Web site |-> default.aspx |-> index.swf |-> configAdmin.xml |-> configUserType1.xml |-> configUserType2.xml |-> com |-> a lot of swf and xml files I was first thinking making another directory (without read access for the client) containing all the configurations xml files, picking the right one, copying it to the client and deleting it afterwards. But it seems like I must let know the user know when downloading/deleting content on it's computer... I'm running out of ideas, so I hope you have some great ones. It's there are some design flaws (in the way the app is build, not in Flash :p) please share. I'm always looking forward to improve. Thanks Update : In browser Flash/Flex (without AIR that is) doesn't allow deleting file localy silently (on the client computer, where the application is). It's also not yet possible to get session data.

  • How can I check if a value is in a list in Perl?

    - by ablimit
I have a file in which every line is an integer which represents an id. What I want to do is just check whether some specific ids are in this list. But the code didn't work. It never tells me it exists even if 123 is a line in that file. I don't know why? Help appreciated. open (FILE, "list.txt") or die ("unable to open !"); my @data=<FILE>; my %lookup =map {chop($_) => undef} @data; my $element= '123'; if (exists $lookup{$element}) { print "Exists"; } Thanks in advance.
